[Q] Bluetooth doesn't work for me with 4.2.1 - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It used to work perfectly for me in the car (the only time I use Bluetooth) to use the hands-free stuff with IceColdSandwich 8.8.
I've tried Jellybean 4.2.1 by Randomblame and CodefireX but it won't pair.
In both cases when I power-up the car it tries to connect to the phone, and each time the phone pets out a beep and asks for the pairing code. It then will not pair.
Any suggestions? I'd really like to get the hands-free stuff working again.

Try the latest codefireX SR6 version. Many users have reported perfectly working bluetooth since 2-3 versions ago.

First:sorry for my bad English
JellyTime 4.2 project, last codfirex sr6, aokp Jbean, unofficial cm10.1, have a fully working bluethoot....

I tried CodefireX SR6 but still no good sorry.
I prefer Randomblame's Jellytime as well, if possible.

*bump*
Anyone please?

Receiveing files by bluetooth on the phone doesn't work for me either.
using CodefireX SR8 now (HTC desire HD)

Just a FWIW if anyone else has the same problem and finds this thread with a search - I have now fixed the problem by going to Jellytime R6.1 but I think the real solution was to flush the cache partition and Dalvik cache.
Bluetooth works just fine now.

Bluetooth Issue

Hey there,
I'm having a problem with the bluetooth on my desire...
I'm running stock android 2.2, unrooted...
The phone seems to work totally fine, but the bluetooth refuses to connect to my car kit... it has worked fine from day one and now all of a sudden it connects for a few seconds and then disconnects, and then when you go into the bluetooth settings to re-connect it, the menu just hangs... if you leave it for a few seconds the phone then reboots...

THANK YOU so much! That looks like it'll do the trick, now my only problem is how the eff do I install it? I've tried to copy it to the root of the mem card but it looks like the recovery thing on my phone is toast... even though it's got stock firmware on it...
Will it be easier to root the phone?
Ok, I am now Rooted and running LeeDrOiD 2.2f which apparently includes the Bluetooth fix as mentioned above...
But the problem persists...
It's definitely not the radio, because it pairs and works perfectly with another phone.
Any other ideas?

Which bluetooth fix is implemented in leedroid? I would rather recommend you a cyanogenmod 6.1 ROM, or a ROM that's built on CM. For me this fix implemented there has worked. FYI, CM are AOSP and without sense.

The fix is "[MOD][21-July] Fix Bluetooth CarKit disconnection" and apparently fixes the issue...
Hmm, I kinda like the sense interface so would be sad to see it go...
My Desire also has a bluetooth problem in connecting with my car. Not the disconnections, but phonebook/callist access fails. Installing an AOSP Rom (or MIUI) fixes the problem, but I do like sense too.
I've concluded the sense-bluetooth stack is the culprit, however I don't have the knowledge to change the stack. Thus, I'll wait until somebody has fixed it or HTC updates the stack or until I'll buy a new phone
I am happy to say that the problem is gone when using Cyanogen Mod 6.1.0
It doesn't transfer the phone book, but the phone function works... so I'm happy...
Just have to now get used to android without sense... hmmm...

Hi, as i am having the same issue and dont really want to use a Cyanogen rom , before i do what vehicle did you get it to work with.
cheers
It was with a Pioneer DEH-P710BT head unit with built-in bluetooth...
The strange thing is that it worked absolutely perfectly for MONTHS and now all of a sudden is giving problems...
It is however, definitely the phone giving the problem because the head unit pairs perfectly with any other phone, and when using the cyanogen mod rom, the desire works perfectly with it.

[Q] [solved] Bluetooth ICS 4.0.4 (sandvold) VW RCD 510

Hello,
may me be helped here? I have a HTC Desire with ICS 4.0.4 of Sandvold.
In the car always I have to confirm the bluetoothpairing twice until it is coupled. I have a handfree-kit for Volkswagen with a RCD 510, in the simple version (supports handsfree profile). In my opinion, it is no problem with rSAP!
With Android vers. 2.3 the pairing was automatically...
Thanks in advance

Hello,
next problem with Bluetooth.
I've tested to pair my ics desire with a galaxy s2, it doesn't work and pairing with a galaxy
s3 doesn't work also.
Does someone know a solution or a hint/tipp?

I found nothing wrong with Bluetooth.
I can connect easily with my Car using Bluetooth and tried sending files to 4-5 different phones without any error.
its worth mentioning which Version of ROM you are using.
usually Full Wipe before flashing ROM Removes 99% Troubles
Hmm,
I've done a full wipe before.
But I'll do so again next weekend with version 0.13, hopefully that it works better.
So, I've done a full wipe and reinstall Version 0.13,
pairing is ok, but the telefone in my car rings but I can't speak/hear anything.
The phone goes always in "private mode". Change it to "hands-free", to "private mode" and return will not solve the problem. Eyerytime a call comes in the radio "rings", but the phone stays in "private mode".
The same problem after a full wipe and version 0.13.1 install
Ics 4.0.4 v.13.1 Bluetooth
Hello!
I've done a full wipe and install Version 0.13.1. After activating/disactivating bluetooth the systems gives me an error (com.android.phone). After pressing the ok button I have to reboot the phone, because there is an sim card error as well. After rebooting the phone runs normal, but everytime I use bluetooth I have the same problem again.
Before I had installed the ICS 4.0.4 v.12 and never occured an error like this. Anybody there with the same problem or the solution?
Thanks for help and greetings

Same for me.
My car does'nt find the phone, telefonbook can't sync, handsfree does'nt work, but I can answer the call without handsfree.
with Android 2.3.x no problem
Me too. Any help?
Had exactly same issue with 0.13.1: no audio through bluetooth headset or car handsfree + com.android.phone crashing when disabling bluetooth.
Downgrade to 0.12 seems to have fixed both problems for me.
Known issue reported in the development thread for 0.13.1.
Sandvold says he should have a new build (0.14) soon, no news on whether that fixes it or not however.
Yes, the new release will fix something:
Sandvold:
....and start working tomprrow.
Usb tether is fixed pluss adhoc. But its a bit unstable so wont release it and need to build a new one.

He says nothing about BT, but I'll hope it will fixed too
Hey, good news, the version 0.14 fixes the problem with audio through the headset/car speaker.
The last problem is phonebook sync with my car audio system, always the error message "phonebook sync incomplete" appears at the audio system display.
I'll hope sandvold fixes this issue too...
[solved] Bluetooth ICS 4.0.4 (sandvold) VW RCD 510
I've solved the phonebook-access with the Phone Book Access Protocol (PBAP)-Addon,
found here: http://forum.android-rsap.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=221
Now I can hear the audio through the speaker, and the RCD 510 always sync the phonebook with my HTC Desire ICS.
Tested with VW Golf VI, RCD510, "low-cost" original Handsfree-Kit from VW.
ICS Vers. 0.14 from Sandvold
Upgrading to .014 has also resolved this for me
Hi
Same phone same ics version 4.0.4, car audio is clarion fb-288 and for me I get asked to reenter the code every time. Also worked fine with 2.2.x and 2.3.x.

I had that too, did a factory reset on sandvolds rom, and reflashed the latest. Problem solved. But i moved on now. You should try nikez 4.2.1 rom, its about as far as sandvold was with 4.0.4. Also an evervolv rom. Its amazing how smooth it is, and latest release is quite stable too. I assume sandvold stopped devving, as he is vanished for several months now. So time to move on!

I managed to fix the problem in the original from by replacing the Bluetooth.API with a download from Androidforums. There is a post there that has 3 versions attached. I used the 4.0.1 sz 407 KB. Works like a charm.
I hadn't checked for other ICS rooms since I got this one. I didn't know there was something else.... THANKS! Time to backup now

[Q] 4.2.2 AOKP Bluetooth SMS MAP protocol support?

Does anyone know if the Bluetooth SMS MAP protocol is supposed to work in 4.2.2 AOKP (I'm running milestone 1)? My Honda Civic doesn't think the phone supports it, so I'm guessing it's not working, but wanted to make sure there wasn't something I was missing. Also, I'd love to know if anyone is working on it or knows what the status is. I moved from an old hacked-up CM10.1 over to AOKP hoping maybe this had been fixed/was working, but alas, it looks like I'm still out of luck.
If I had more time, I'd offer to fix it up myself (and may still) if someone could point me in the right direction to get started. From what I saw in old posts back during the CM9 days this was working, so it seems that it'd be possible to revive without too much deep knowledge of the protocol itself (some already did the hard work)...

Okay, does anyone know if any of the 4.2.x ROMs support bluetooth sms map?

well there are known bluetooth issues with 4.2.2 roms
I have a bluetooth headset which seems to work fine...
however I have a bluetooth mouse which recognizes but doesn't work in 4.2.2 roms
All 4.1.2 roms built off official stock seem to have bluetooth working fine...
hope this helped m8
In JB, a new Bluetooth stack was implemented. The MAP profile code, which was added to AOKP in ICS, is no longer valid. From what I have read, the new BT stack is not open source, so devs will not be able to reimplement MAP, at least for now.

[Q] Bluetooth stack or driver issue?

So I've tried every custom ROM for my E973 and I've noticed something odd. The ROMs built using the team LGOG tree seem to have an issue initializing bluetooth. It takes about 6-7 sec for bluetooth to come on, and android beam file transfer doesn't work. On the other hand, with Paulicat's AOKP and dvhexer's CM 10.1, bluetooth initializes within a second or two and android beam works fine. Is this down to drivers or some other difference in the bluetooth implementation? Would it be possible to create a flashable zip to apply to the ROMs with slow bluetooth to make it faster/more stable?

man, Still haven't had a response.
For what it's worth, I'm in the same boat as you. AOKP and AOSP will work everytime. Everything else won't work as well as stock. I got nothing to report that fixes bluetooth. If you find out why, let me know.
I use bluetooth a lot.

Try dvhexer's cm 10.2

Bluetooth issue

I was the kind of guy who want to try some of the new version for this phone...
One issue I saw on each version except the original from bell is ... the bluetooth is not always working propely... not sure if @tdm can see the difference between v20f and cm bluetooth but since i'm back with this one i don't have to fight to have it connected to my car radio!
Anyone else having issue like mine??

Even the stock Gingerbread firmware wouldn't work with bluetooth keyboards (the stock ICS just cops out and has a message pop up that says that the phone is not compatible with bluetooth keyboards!). I found that only Cyanogenmod 9 RC1 and RC2, and Cyanogenmod 10.1.x stable builds work with bluetooth keyboards. Try Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 and see if that fixes the bluetooth problem.

I have also experienced no bluetooth issues with Mokee 02072014 release version. Very reliable, bluetooth works like stock, no BSODs or reboot problems, and best of all its Kit kat.

I should try that version.
HoNo!'s almost-stock V20F and Sphinx 4.1 are the ones I found to have a reliable BT connection to FORD Sync, automatic connection. Everything else I tried I have to manually connect it and sometimes I have to do it 3-4 times to get connected with the exception of Carbon ROM which is pretty much 1 shot and it would be connected. I wouldn't even care for BT if it is not for the cellphone use bylaw in our town.
