[Q] Extended Battery - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I desperately need an extended battery. I have the CDMA version what do you guys recommend. I could also use a good case that would fit the extended battery but I'd prefer if the battery didn't get much bigger if at all

You can't go wrong with the OEM 2100 Mah battery but I recently purchased a Hyperion 3800 Mah battery and case for $25, not anything amazing but did add a decent bit of battery life. Went back to stock though for the amazingly thin feel.
And yes this is on Verizon.

Battery Choices

So, I have been looking all over the various stores (Sprint, Radio Shack, Ebay, Seidio), I bought a standard battery (the same mAh as my stock battery). The battery I purchased has about the same batter life (as expected about 6-9 hours depending upon usage of games and data) Looking over the extended life battery options I dont quite understand the claims.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bacy35hev4-bk.htm
This is a 3500mAh battery and has "double the capacity of the original battery"
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi17hev4.htm
This is a 1750mAh battery, it's not listed the capacity.. but my stock battery is 1500mAh so it cannot be by much.
http://cgi.ebay.com/3500mAh-Extende...Accessories&hash=item483d837c7f#ht_4076wt_905
This is a 3500mAh battery, it comes with a battery cover I would imagine that it's similar to the Seidio battery as far as in the capacity
has anyone tried the extended batteries off of ebay, do they work well.. and do the battery covers hold up well?
Any suggestions of extending battery life? I keep my wifi turned off, dimmed my screen, and a few other things.
Right now I am thinking of just getting a battery charger and just swapping between the two batteries.. it would just be a hassle taking my case and battery cover on and off every day.
check out http://batteryboss.org/ first to see where those batteries really stand.
there is also an 1800 mah at http://www.htcexpress.com/ that was supposedly tested to be 1700 mah.
that woud make it the best battery around, but i bought one and it seemed worse than the stock battery.
sprint also now has a 2600 mah with extended back. i don't know if anyone has tested it yet.
i purchased the ebay 3500mah with cover and also the OEM HTC extended battery for the TP2
HTC model no. RHOD170
. works great and according to battery boss it is the best extended battery ratings wise.
i got the battery for OEM HTC extended battery for18 bucks on ebay. so you have have two batteries and a better looking cover for half the price of the seidio battery.
however, i cant seem to get the battery status to show up correctly on the oem battery display but it does show up on "battery status" app

Batteryboss.org was a lot of help! honestly i think the best bet for me would be the cheap one from ebay that i mentioned.. the bad news is that it doesnt seem that they have tested it yet... so I think ill keep my eye open and wait on it
Extended battery for the EVO on eBay 3000 mah
This is a way better buy. The battery life rocks. The door is rubberized and a really nice feel/texture. Moretalktime has 100% feedback and has them in stock in USA.

2300mah battery or 2000mah battery for GSM Galaxy Nexus?

I'm looking on getting a extended battery for my GSM i9250 Galaxy Nexus. I was woundering if the cheap 2300mah battery from China is any good from ebay listing here.> http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2300mAh...EXUS-PRIME-i9250-/270876519915#ht_6128wt_1052
OR should I go with the more expensive probably the official Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2000mah battery with new back door from Korea, listed here.> http://www.ebay.com/itm/12083246205...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_3922wt_802
I want the 2300mah battery cause it sounds more appealing but idk cause that battery is the same size as the factory 1750mah yet its able to give 5x the more battery without enlarging the battery and no back cover. Sounds fake, but idk, What do you guys think?
I personally wouldn't get one unless it supported NFC.

1750 to 2300 in the same form factor?
I bought the LTE extended battery and of course there's a noticeable increase in size, needing the different cover. But is a 550 mAh increase possible in the same size?

Why would a battery influence NFC? Or is the antenna in the battery door or something?
Tapatalk Pro Sig. Yep, boring.

the NFC chip is inside the battery. so the battery has to be official, or at least have NFC chip inside in order for NFC to work.
I wouldn't get the 2350 one, most likely its a cheap knockoff no where near capacity that high. probably lower than the stock battery. Labels are easy to print.

Antenna is in the battery itself.

You are better off buying a stock replacement battery to keep around than to buy cheap any other batteries, no matter the mAH rating advertised.
the extended batteries for the Nexus are bullsh**. normally, an extended battery is at least/close to double the mAh as what the stock is. these 2100 & 2300 batteries are a joke.
just FYI, there are no antenna contacts in the battery door so even if you leave the door off you can still get a signal.
additionally, if you don't mind leaving it off & doing a slight mod, you can get a generic Droid Bionic 4000mAh battery for $12 online and use that instead. the Wh isn't quite as high but it's still 3.7V and will last much longer then even that 2300 one.

If it has more capacity than the stock battery, then its extended. There's no promise of a minimum extra amount of battery over stock to be considered an extended battery. Not sure why you're so up in arms about it. Give it a little time for 3rd parties to make larger extended batteries with fitting battery doors...

There's no way that's actually a 2300mAh battery. Don't buy that lol. If you think the 2000mAh battery is worth it you can go for it, but its only ~14% more capacity, so you can't expect drastic life improvements. As another poster said if you REALLY need extra life you're better off getting another stock battery and a wall charger to swap them.

i realize it's my opinion but it is disappointing considering that 'extended batteries' for practically every other phone out there are nearly double(sometimes even more so). i don't understand why they even bothered making a 2100 'extended' & not just included that as stock with the phone since it goes through battery so quickly. i have my fingers crossed that mugen or seidio will make a worthwhile extended.
Thanks guys, I decided I wont get neither. lol.. I'm pulling 10hr-16hrs on the Nexus anyway. Compare to my previous T-Mo S2 and i9100 S2 I was getting the same battery life. I will upgrade the battery but ill wait for the official Samsung battery when it hits Europe sometime next year.

Us with the GSM version can't buy that Verizon extended battery..

I bought the extended battery for 25 dollars from Verizon and its pretty good, I get 2 days on my nexus with light use, full day with medium to heavy use.
now sure if the stock one was garbage to begin with.
I had a Mugen power batteries 1800mah extended battery for my sensation, thought it was a good battery
A friend of mine bought a 2450mah knock off battery from ebay and offered to Get one for me, I said the same as all of you, no thanks doubt it actually that size and I bet it wont last as long as my 'smaller' Mugen battery. So he bought me one to test.
At least on my sensation, the cheap battery was noticeably better than the Mugen (3 hours better)
So from that, I'm willing to try this knock off, considering I'm in Australia and have literally nothing I can use nfc on anyway

Ordered the 2000 myself. Battery life is already great for me, but you can never have enough juice.

Best battery with not much thickness?

I have the GSM version battery 1750 mAh. I'm looking for a bigger battery but with not so much thickness. The one that I have is good, but I need one that last a bit longer would be better.
I'm thinking of this one.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...SUUG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1331393644&sr=8-2
is that any good?
suggestions?
That's for Verizon's Nexus, not your GSM version. I'm selling my GSM battery FYI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1524994
OEM extended batteries are the best and most reliable way to go. Unfortunately that extended battery is only for the Verizon version (i515)
I can't post links yet but do a search on eBay for "i9250 2000" and you'll find your answer

this is the deal you want

its from samsung and actually feels better in the hand then what it came with.. only adds about 14% more battery though
I'm also looking for a reliable battery as a backup only so no need for extended capacity. Does anyone have an experience with a good battery from amazon or ebay?

Seidio 3800 mAh Extended Battery vs Battery cover case

Welcome.
For some time, I looking to buy extended battery, because the stock battery works for me too short.
Already considering increased battery 2000 mAh Samsung, but that does not give too much more than stock.
The second idea was the Seidio 3800 battery, but this expense is getting a bit too big.
And the third idea is to External Battery Case.
Cost is much better than the Seidio, and if I'm counting (2200 mAh Extended Battery + 1750 stock battery) it even gives you more energy.
Can anyone use it already?
How is it exercised?
It seems to me to work like as a charger permanently connected, so it is not an additional battery, but charger, which is non-stop charge the battery.
Do not destroy / reduce battery life?
And did this significantly increases the size of the phone?
Is it possible to choose the cover?
As for the Seidio, a little do not succeed in choosing the right kit.
The manufacturer's website there are several, and I myself do not really know what they are different.
I need one that will enable me to mount the 3800 mah battery and attach the phone to your belt.
Thank you
I have had sedeio extended batteries before and they where great. I have also has a charger case it was powerskin brand but I must say it sucked. The charger case I had made my phone really hot. I'm planning on buying the extended battery and convert case since I need battery life and protection. And I believe it comes with a belt hook

I got the Seidio extended battery too. I also have the case that comes with it. It's big but it hasn't been a problem for me since it eliminated the charging-all-day hassle.

Best extended battery that dooesn't need a new back?

If there are any to begin with?
WHat are the best batteries that fit the original backing?
basically anything with 2000mah or higher are fakes......
Basically what Donsh00tmesanta said. I have tried a few because I need a better battery but they were all the same or worse than stock. Just ordered the 4100 MaH one from the other thread. I'll learn to deal with my phone haven't a fat butt with time.
Either buy a new stock battery that isn't worn out or an extended qcell battery with fat back.

I got increased battery life with andida 2300 but also had random reboots and power offs. I got this other cheap chinese battery 2100 I think it was, gonna try this weekend.
