Loserskater This guy is the man, seriously. I would not be able to do this without him. I've lost count on how many things he's contributed to this ROM, past and present. AOSP MMS would not be possible on touchwiz without him. Give him your thanks, guys like him make this community what it is.
enewman17 - I've learned alot from breaking open your rom's and seeing what's inside, great dev and alot of Dandroid would not be possible without him, I've had to keep his APK's decompiled for reference this whole time,

[ROM] Dandroid 5 [4.3 TW] [AOSP Theme] , a ROM for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S III
Contributors
Danvdh, enewman17, Loserskater
ROM OS Version: 4.3.x Jellybean
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.0.x
Based On: Touchwiz
Version Information
Status: Stable

If you're having issues on my ROM that no one else is reporting, or I haven't reproduced on my phone, read the following.
1) Full wipe
2) Do not restore System data or data from CWM
3) Do not dirty flash from other ROM's
4) When was the last time you did a odin to stock? this is important in my opinion and I'm not saying you need to do one but I just want to explain that custom zip's that I make and other dev's make in the shape of "roms" only affect
a few partitions on your device, other's do not get touched and can get messy/corrupt over the months (This explains why the GPS icon disappears in some peoples cases during rom switch) and this is why I get posts in this thread about people wondering why their baseband hasn't been updated after flashing my rom when my post states "MF1"
With this being said my personal rule of thumb is to odin to stock latest and then boot into stock recovery and factory reset, wipe cache/dalvik (BACKUP YOUR SD CARD TO YOUR COMPUTER), this gives your phone fresh partitions everywhere, a fresh system to root and the latest bootloader (which you need for any AOSP 4.2 rom). This is also a good time to unlock your phone if you have not already, then reroot and install custom recovery, update the recovery if need be and flash again on a brand new system. here are my steps
1) backup all user apps and data with titanium backup, DO NOT BACKUP SYSTEM APP'S
2) backup internal storage onto PC
3) Odin to stock latest
4) wait for phone to boot then reboot into stock recovery and full wipe and clear all cache
5) reboot and root the phone and custom recovery
6) flash away and put what you need on your internal storage back onto your phone via usb, see my 2nd set of instructions below
this fixes more issues then you will realize. some of the way people flash rom's on XDA and complain to me with problems is rather funny considering I have the install instructions in the OP, not to mention many of you rooted your phone when you first got it in the ICS 4.0.4 day's and haven't done an odin to stock jellybean to update all your partitions including your bootloader, now I will go over my every day flashing step's.
1)backup all USER APPS/DATA with titanium backup, DO NOT BACKUP SYSTEM APP'S (skip this if you did a odin flash to stock)
2)reboot recovery
3)nandroid (skip this if you did a odin flash to stock)
4)factory reset, wipe system, wipe both cache/dalvik
5)install rom
6)boot system
7)*(OPTIONAL) reboot to install a kernel now if needed, always wipe cache/dalvik and fix permissions after installing a kernel
8)setup phone and download titanium backup from the market
9)restore all user apps and data (you will have to put the titanium backup folder that is backed up on your computer back onto your internal storage via usb first)
Every 6 months, backup internal storage to PC and I odin to stock, much like formatting a computer
6 months is actually a long time considering how much I flash, but this device can take a beating let me tell you =P
I DO THIS WITH EVERY ROM I INSTALL, AOSP or TW

Thank you guys I hope I hear some t-mobile feedback soon, can't wait to hear what this community thinks of my rom. I'm not expecting any issues, tons of downloads today on at&t and all is quiet, which tells me no issues for anybuddy there :victory:

Wow, what a great-looking release. Just charging my phone so I can flash and try. Few questions, is the lock screen AOSP as well or what? And this means I can also flash themes that Wasabiwa made without having to tweak the SystemUI/Framework?

The lock screen is touchwiz, I didn't add AOSP lock screen because I don't really like it and it caused me some issues on some previous builds, I may add AOSP lock screen in a future build but for now I feel Samsung did the lock screen right on TW, as for your other question, yes you can theme whatever you want since I de-odexed the file system for you :highfive:

Looking good..downloading now

Just curious as to what issues it caused you on previous builds? I've added the AOSP lockscreen to this and re-themed, and it seems to be working great. I added a modified framework-res.apk that disables the menu-button-unlocks "feature", as well. I've somehow lost the ability to hold my home button down to bring up recent apps, but I'm sure that's due to me either adding the AOSP lockscreen package, or some other tweak I've done.
All in all, this is a great ROM. Well done Danvdh! :good:

That's just it, it would either be menu unlocks the phone or long hold of home doesn't work, What I may do is just make a flashable zip when I get time for the people that do want the AOSP lock screen. I didn't want to bake it in because it would cause one issue or another, I like everything to be 100% perfect right out of the box on a fresh wipe/install, I am however glad you got it installed successfully, I knew it was 100% compatible but like I said above, not 100% perfect
I'm glad you like everything, this rom is butter. :highfive:

First, thank you for this rom. It's exactly what I need and all the features seem to work well on my Canadian Videotron SGS3.
Is it possible to revert back to the stock theme ? Also, what is the difference between intellidemand/noop and intellidemand/sio ?

Yep you can theme however you want everything is compatible as I have deodexed the system for you. also noop and sio are both great choices. Refer here for all that information http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2019597n

I don't want theme, how to revert back to the stock ?
Thank you.

GPS work fine for me. In fact I have instant lock in less than 15 seconds. Maybe try GPS Status and/or FasterFix from Google Play.

GPS instant lock here too, sounds like you lost gps on flash, do you see the icon on the left even flashing? if not, don't worry, its not the rom, because most likely no matter what rom you flash too (Which I recommend you to try your nandroid backup or another rom first), the issue will remain, its not the kernel either, in fact it seems to be another partition our custom recovery's don't wipe when we do a full wipe/cache clear, check here for more information, its actually quite an easy fix but a time consuming one that can happen randomly, much like a IMEI getting lost mysteriously during a flash to rom that you know is safe and stable. This has happened to me once flashing another rom and it was completely random, I could not repeat the issue, some people say it happens when you flash from a port to a rom that was designed for your carrier.

WiFi calling works?

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I do a full wipe on my phone before flashing?
A. When you boot into recovery, select the option "factory wipe" and confirm it. This will ensure you perform a "FULL WIPE" prior to flashing.
Q. WAAAAH! My MMS is blurry!!! How do I fix this???
A. Send pictures via email, use a 3rd party mms app from market OR flash the CM7 mms app posted by esincho HERE. READ HIS POST!
Q. I keep getting an error when trying to use Wifi-Calling. WTF?
A. You HAVE to use one of the new SIM cards provided by T-mobile AKA the one included with your SGSII. If you are, run fix permissions in recovery.
Q. I installed the Swype Beta and it keeps FC. What gives???
A. You did one of the following - Flashed over a previously installed version of Juggernaut or another rom that had stock swype installed OR restored swype using Titanium backup. That's why a FULL WIPE was recommended. Good job on not following directions.
Q. I just got the update notification from T-mobile. How do I get rid of this???
A. Two ways - download bloat freezer or Titanium Backup Pro from market and freeze "device management" OR use Root Explorer and navigate to /system/app and delete wssyncmldm.apk and wssyncmlnps.apk.
Q. Does this rom include the new baseband/modem???
A. NO. If you want the new baseband/modem, use my guide HERE to flash it through Odin.

Bug When Using Arabic Language ONLY
- Upon reboot MMS will FC when you try to open it. The fix is to change to ANY language, open it then switch back to Arabic. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using a 3rd party MMS app from the market or flashing the CM7 MMS app listed in FAQ above.

Launchers
Just because we included a specific launcher in our ROM does not mean you have to use it. In fact I encourage you to try a different launcher other than the stock TouchWiz one. Here are just a few alternatives. Don't limit yourself ಠ_ಠ
Launcher Pro
ADW Launcher
GO Launcher
TouchWiz 4.5 (modded TW4 launcher)
Launcher2 (stock Gingerbread)
Oh snap
Great to have you guys aboard.
One question, does the kernel support init.d.
I lied, second question... is there a problem with samsung's kernel source?

What about delete cache, wipe data/factory reset, dalvik and format system? Is that not required coming from EB ROM? Thanks in advance. Just want to clear it up for myself and others.

You do not have to. However, if you run into any FC issues you should start over. You should not be getting any FCs related to the ROM itself.

There is no kernel bundled with the ROM YET. The reason is that we're missing a proper updater-binary (I believe) to flash it. I've tried flashing the kernel from CWM and I had no luck so far.
What is the difference between our tw launcher and the tw 4.5 launcher you added?

PLEASE tell me this ROM has the stock Android lock screen?
I cannot stand the Samsung lock screen and I'd like to avoid using WidgetLocker since it always seems to screw up the music when listening to Spotify.
Just downloaded.. Installed booting up now =]! Gonna wait 10 minutes.. Ill be back!
Also I have no light on the soft keys.

Information:
This is a stock-based ROM that I've made using UCUEMJB firmware for the AT&T Galaxy S3. I've spent a lot of time developing this ROM making it nice and stable and using the tweaks I thought were the best for smoothness, battery life, and stability. This ROM uses a modified, optimized UCUEMJB kernel by me that includes support for init.d scripts and a few extra bells and whistles.
Features:
UCUEMJB Android 4.3 Official Base
Modified and optimized UCUEMJB kernel by me
Extended power menu
Extended APN list
Smoothness and battery life tweaks
Fully de-odexed
Fully zipaligned
Bashed
Rooted
init.d script support and tweaks
Real time status bar colors
Real time battery bar mod
1% battery mod
ADB support
Debloating
Xposed Framework for custom theming
AT&T logo removed
Wifi Notification removed
Google Now
S-Voice
Multiwindow
Google Keyboard
Multi-language support
AllianceRom Boot Animation
Increased group messaging size
Increased MMS size and quality
AT&T Contacts removed
System sounds from the Nexus 4
No increasing ringtone
SMS split removed, messages with multiple pages combined
Blacklisting
MMS slideshow removed so MMS appears threaded and individual
Multi SMS lock
Call block menu in settings
Popup Browser
Many other tweaks...
Installation Instructions:
You MUST have the UCUEMJB or UCUEMJ2 bootloader and the UCUEMJB modem installed before proceeding or this ROM will not work properly. Your data and wifi may be broken if you do not do this first. These are available here: Bootloader and Modem Options
Download ROM to SD card
Reboot into recovery (Must be the latest version)
Do a factory reset
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Wipe system
Flash Rom (This process may take a minute or two)
Wipe cache and dalvik cache again just to be safe
Tap reboot
In TWRP: Slide the slider to allow TWRP to fix SuperSU permissions (optional)
Post Installation Instructions:
Upon first boot, SystemUI may force close due to modifications. Let the phone settle for a minute and reboot. You should not experience this again.
It is HIGHLY suggested that you keep ALL Google Now cards off, verify that you are not updating your location with Google Maps (in Maps settings menu). Remember, Google Now automatically turns on your location settings to update through Google Maps, so after enabling Google Now, unless you want your location on all the time, go to Google Maps and turn it off. Your battery will thank you even more.
If you get a Google account sign-in error after installing, there is an easy fix. Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts and Sync. Please REMOVE your current Google account and then add it again. I do not know why this happens to some people, but it doesn't seem to be ROM related. It happens on several devices including the Nexus. Removing and then re-adding your account again fixes this problem

Since this is the first build, it looks almost exactly like stock. I wanted to get an initial release out for testing and get the important things right first before I go messing with other things. I will be uploading pics as soon as this file uploads. Thanks for being patient. I am going to be themeing hopefully in the next build. Current upload progress is at 100MB/679MB. sigh

I was actually thinking about doing an intergalactic ringtone. I don't want to do a bootsound because I think most users agree that can get annoying. I specifically deleted it when I created the ROM. I'll consider it for the next release very seriously.

This looks pretty cool can't wait for download to finish.
This is a nice start.

TW themes, everything is compatible as this rom is deodexed and zip aligned, happy theming friend! AOSP themes are only compatible for AOSP roms, This is a stock TW rom that has been themed to look exactly like AOSP and includes AOSP app replacements that work perfectly using the samsung tw framework. those apps are in the OP
Hmm.. might give this a try, haha

I did that for a reason, there seems to be a problem with reading the OP on xda, the way I look at is when people scroll down a post their eyes are used to scanning the left for a download link, now the info is vice versa making it a little bit harder to ignore the useful information provided potentially stopping an avoidable question in this post. just a little bit different, that is all
and yes, Toronto is awesome Telus upload speeds on LTE are stupid, have you ran a speedtest recently? 20mb per sec+ uploads usually on LTE even during peak.

You’re going to need to change the permissions once you place svoice.apk in /system/app. They need to be: r-w, r, r. Then reboot. After that, go into /system/app using Root Explorer. Install it like you would install any other app and you should have SVoice. If your S Voice app isn’t in /system/app, then just re-do it. I don't personally use svoice, I thought it sucked so I just used google now which I find way better even though I hardly use that either
if that does not work for you, try using an american build.prop I have created, here just replace it and make sure you backup and set permissions

Lol nice another fellow dutchman.
I would have flashed last night but had 5% battery and I'm pretty sure I will need to edit my build prop or the update script in the rom zip as I'm currently on tasks aokp rom which changed my build prop to read d2att.
When I get a chance I am definitely flashing this to give it a whirl. Screen shots looks good so far!

FAQ
Have a question? Go to my Q&A Thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2912279
FAQ:
DEPRECIATED FOR THE MOST PART...
Q: Does this ROM update my firmware?
A: No.. I would NEVER force an hboot install and/or a radio install during a ROM install..
flashing an hboot is a very dangerous flash as it is, you want to make sure everything checks out 100%,'
To get on the latest you can simply download the latest OTA 1.10.605.10 firmware this link will help you out. Since 1.10.605.15 has hit the OTA waves, I am awaiting for Santod to make a base, as there is no need to re-invent the wheel and he already said he is making one as he has done in the past and does a great job. For firmware 1.10.605.15 you can find it here. Once downloaded save them in a folder on your computer. It will give you easy access to finding the best radio to suite you, the newest is not always the best.
Q: Why is Group Messaging not working?
A: This is the way it came from HTC.. I did comb through the smali code and fixed it though..
Please flash the AromaMOD.zip and choose any of the messaging apps BESIDES stock.. and Group Messaging is fixed. After v1.4.1 you can choose stock as I will include the fix in that stock .apk.
Q: How can I add blinkfeed back to home screen?
A: Go to settings > personalize > home screen style and hit apply for blinkfeed.
WARNING: once you do this, you CAN'T remove it.
Q: I keep getting 3g, when I should be getting 4g?
A: Make a backup of your rom and internal storage and copy them to a PC..
Flash the stock rom and recovery and do a factory reset.
Then reflash your custom recovery and rom or backup.
Follow Santold040's guide here, it works great. - Credit and thank you to @santod040
Q: How do I remove the power saver notification?
A:Use adb:
1. Run
Code:
[COLOR="Sandybrown"]adb shell[/COLOR]
It will become something like this:
Code:
[email protected]:/ #
If there is no
Code:
#
symbol, then type
Code:
su
2. Type this
Code:
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
3. Press Enter and Reboot.
Use terminal emulator:
1. type
Code:
su
and press enter
2. Type this
Code:
pm disable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
3. Press Enter and Reboot
TO RE-ENABLE:
1. Type this
Code:
pm enable com.htc.htcpowermanager/.powersaver.PowerSaverNotificationReceiver
First!! Lol never done that before. Feels weird... Thanks for the ROM Andy. Looks sick.

wait why are there 2 bonestock threads?
DevDB thread. old one will probably be closed, I'm guessing.
Nice!
I'm surprised that I've come to really like Sense 5 this past month, but the VZW bloatware has been driving me nuts!
Thanks for working on this, man, just what I needed.
omg this. I said it in another topic but I'll say it again. While I've always loved HTC, I've always hated Sense. But this blinkfeed thing is WAY COOL. I've tried to use feedly for my news, but it's always full in information overload, not to mention garbage news like kim kardashian (who gives a **** about that **** anyway?) but blinkfeed gives me only what's worth reading, and in just the right dosage.
Crap, I may have opened this wrong, please post in the other thread until I can get these merged, thank you!
Why is there two threads?
Is Google Now still here? I was looking to add a short cut but couldn't find voice search...
Sent from the One phone to rule them all!
Great Rom. Is there a way to add PIE to this?

I couldn't find it either...
It looks like the mods closed the original thread, per Andy's request, so I guess the discussions will move here now.
Andy, I am loving the rom. I have noticed that I am not connecting to 4G as much as before though. I still connect, but not as often.

The other one is closed now. I agree rom rocks socks.
Sorry about the thread mess, I guess it's quite a bit harder to merge threads. I was hoping the other would get deleted, I'll request for that to hopefully avoid further confusion.
This thread is new ROM home. .
XDA now has a spot up top for screen shots, and a place for us to upload the ROM. So this will be another server for me to upload to.

quick question. is v1.1.1 (whats in the DL link at top of thread that you mentioned) the same as v1.1? If not, will we need to wipe to flash the new version?
Thanks

The first thing I must say is a huge thank you to ptmr3 for allowing me to continue the Jedi project. I am truly honored to be thought of for this. Jedi has been my daily driver since my Note 2 days and has served me well. I know a lot of you guys have been very loyal and a great support to the community and the Jedi threads. It has always been a great thread surrounded by users of all skill levels with a great attitude. I ask that we continue this by helping each other, searching before posting and following the rules of XDA. I can only hope to do my best to give you guys the Jedi experience you have come to know from ptmr3.

Excellent work man.
FINALLY!!! JK. Good lookin out, boys
V1 to V2
OK - I know it is a stupid question, but I don't keep up with every_new_build_or_device_name... I am on JE 4.4.2 V1 on TMO. Do I really need to dig up the NF1 and flash it for this?
Bootloaders are over-rated :silly:
Here we go!!!!
In Jedi rom tricks the only option for clock alignment is right. I figured there would be a center option. No big deal as I can use an xposed mod to change it but just wondering if there should be a center option?

I'm already on DNF4 and been trying to downgrade to DNF1...but never got the baseband downgraded. Is there anything else I should stick in ODIN to have both built version and baseband downgrade from DNF4 to DNF1 ?

Why would you do that? Just flash the rom vía recovery and it should work just fine even if you are on nf4

I really recommend doing the full upgrade to nf4 first. And then installation of v2. It will work just fine on nf4 and you will see a big improvement in connection etc. Many have found this guide helpful:

Nf1 ROMs will run just fine on nf4 base.

You're welcome. But don't just say it. Hit that thank you button with your finger like this ?. Lets encourage everyone here to be helpful when they can by thanking anybody who is helpful. Even if they're helping someone else. It encourages others to help and makes those who have already been even more helpful.
