[Q] flashing ICS instead of curenct jelly beans rom - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Guys,
1. Does it possible to flash ICS instead of Jelly beans? I've recently flashed a jelly beans ROM and I would like to flash a ICS based ROM instead because the Jell beans ROMS as far as I've seen doesn't have Htc Sense yet.
2. what is the most popular ICS ROM with sense?
3. also, my wifi isn't working, I can't turn it on. full wipe & restarting the phone didn't help (that's why I've flashed the jelly beans ROM, I thought it would fix it), any ideas what can I do?
Regards, Ofir

1. Yes of course, flash any ICS ROM the same way you flashed JB.
2. For features and Sense 4, it's ViperDHD.
Other Sense 4 stable ROM is Sabsa Prime and for Sense 3.6, Blackout ICS XL.
3. Is your battery cover cracked by any chance? That's also the WiFi antenna. Also, what radio are you using? Check in Settings-About-Baseband version.

Question about Desire HD roms

I currently have the MIUI rom from http://miuiandroid.com, currently version 2.3.16, with Android version 2.3.7
I used to have proxusers version of MIUI, which uses Android version Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3. This was a couple of months ago and the version I had wasn't stable at all, several things didn't work properly and it became so frustrating I went back to the Gingerbread version of MIUI.
I was wondering what roms are very stable at the moment? I am looking to install a new rom but not too sure what to go for, in the rom section I used to see just Sense and MIUI roms, but now there seems to be more. Are there any stables Android version 4.0.3 roms?
There are many easy to use ROM
IceColdSandwich by Lord Clockan is very stable. Best at the moment.

I agree, you should flash ICS. I get amazing battery life and performance with that ROM.
if you still want GB i recommend RCMIX 3D Runny 4.0 or Virtuous Affinity 2.05, both with Sense 3.5. if you wanna go with ICS, as they say in the posts above, go for IceColdSandwich, but that's a Stock ICS ROM, no Sense. As for Sense 4 ROMS posted on the forum, i recommend patience until they're fully finished (thats for Sense 4.0 Lite) or wait for the full Sense 4, whenever that will come out ported and stable
Android revolution 6.3.2 seems the most stable for me, 7.0.3 is almost as stable but has some camera issues it seems.

[Q] ICS - What Rom Do You Use?

For all the people that are stuck on ICS and can't get any of the jelly bean roms onto their HOX's. What ROM do you use and how is the battery life because thats what I am aiming for (battery life). Need a good Ice Cream Sandwhich rom to use temporarily until there is an official jelly bean for us with a stupid CID.. Thank You and I look forward to your responses!:good:
I suggest that you use ARHD 9.7.2 from mike1986. It is a very good ROM with good battery life and close too stock ROM. It says V.14.2, but when you go down you can still download 9.7.2 the latest ICS ROM.

[Q] Question about 2.3 ROMS

Hello, I am searching for a ROM 2.3 DHD without sense, I found cyanogen but the videocamera in 720p is broken, there is any ROM 2.3 without sense that works all functions? or there are any posibility of replace the cam of 2.3 cyanogen for sense cam? is there apk or something like that? (I'm noob, ok)
Thanks.
Look for a MIUI GB ROM. I'm not sure about the camera resolution but it's fine working. Try on miui.us or take a in the rom list thread,
The video camera on CM 7.2 works perfectly in 720p. How are you saying its broken?

MIUI roms are great!
I've used 2 roms from different devs and both of them are fully functional.
1) MrGarak rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970196
2) a user rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196670
The last one is a little newer but both of them are great.
You could also flash miui.us or miuiandroid roms as they are great as well.

I know you said 2.3 but the ICS and Jellybean (and even jb 4.2 only missing bluetooth) roms are very stable, i did think at first that gingerbread was what HTC gave us, so I should use that, but the ICS roms are rock solid, most with NO ISSUES!!
I would at least get ICS. Jelly bean also smoothens the whole android experience, although Jelly bean battery life seems not as good as ICS or GB.
If you are sure about Gingerbread, Leedroid and cyanogenmod are both excellent roms with no issues (to my knowledge).

[Q] Pure Android Rom

Hey I really would like to flash a custom rom that is as similar as possible to an android stock rom. Are there any other roms except slim bean?
Pabx's 4.2.1 ROM is pretty close to stock, as well as other AOSP builds.
AOKP and CM10 are based on stock Android but slightly tweaked.

Are any of these stable ?
I have tried CM10 but my phone would run really hot and had lots of reboots, no overclocking and using stock kernel.
I would be greatfull if someone could point me in the direction of a Non HTC based rom that does not turn my phone into a toaster.
All of them are stable, you probably did something wrong when installing the ROM.
If I'd have to recommend something: IceColdJelly 4.2.1 by LorD ClockaN is really stable according to my experience.

Thanks.
I have just flashed that ROM so fingers crossed.
You can also try trip's CM10 endeavor unleashed.:good:

Sense ROM

Hello!
This is my first thread on xda-developers so I'm going to be concise and on subject. I've been using Mildwild ROMs based on CM7.2 for over a year now and I want to try something new on my Desire, like ICS or JB. The thing is I want to return to a Sense 3+ based ROM, but I don't know what to choose.
I thought about flashing one of these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226332 (don't know what it's based on)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318370 (but it's on 2.3.5)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2204681 (too old I guess)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431908 (I'm a bit skeptic about this one)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213033
Or should I flash Vijendra's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070704 with Sense theme?
Thanks for your answers in advance!

Runnymede AIO is also good. Try these on cm7r2 hboot. They're optimized better on it.

Lol sorry I was just kidding about that. Sense and data++ are hboots (internal memory partition layouts), not themes. The guy above was suggesting that you should use vj's cm10.1 ROM, but it is NOT a sense rom. It says sense in the title because it can work on the sense hboot. Sorry for the confusion.
Oh, I understand. Right now I have the stock hboot, worked perfectly with Mildwild's ROMs, but I feel the need for a change. I have a class 10 4gb SD card and I want to try something different. In your opinion, what the smoothiest Sense ROM?
What I wanted to say about VJ's 4.2.2 ROM is that there can be flashed a Sense theme. Would it work good?

My favourite sense ROM is cooldroid. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1279016
Sense theme can be applied to any jb ROM that has theme chooser. This includes pa, aokp, etc.
After I've tried all ROM's from above, I finally flashed Vijendra's Jelly Bean 4.2.2 (CM 10.1). It runs fine (with some of those little glitches reported on the main thread) and I'm pleased with it. The thing is that one day my phone went off when it was around 20% and today around 40%. Is there a way to calibrate the battery or I should considering buying a new one?
