HTC Inc 2 , need help with Roms, Firmware and other stuff - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

Hello to all that had taken time to read this I appreciate your help, today i have tried several roms, cyanogem mod 7 and 10, also a version of ICS that did not support the camera. I have found this thread on XDA developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846304
on that thread they also recommended this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923669
I have yet to learn on how to flash the firmware that would by my first question to you.
What are the steps to properly flash the firmware of my HTC Inc 2 ?
reading that thread I noticed that a lot of people had problems with wifi and data and some did not, Im willing to give it a try but what im looking for is a stable Rom for my device wich brings me to question #2
What is the best ICS mod available for HTC Droid Incredible 2 (vivow)
My recovery is clockworkmod 5.0.2.0, right now the phone is running the cyanogenmod 7.2, idk what other info would be useful but im happy to answer any questions

Read the op in the first thread you linked. It gives instructions on flashing firmware. And check the other which rom is best threads. This has been addressed numerous times.

Please tell us about your setup. Are you dev unlocked, s-off? Verizon phone? What rom?

Did you wipe your cache and delvik cache too?
Note: I may have spelled that wrong.

He had it deleted because xHausx posted the stock rooted ROM 1st... plus he wasnt feeling well.. there are the odex and de-odex versions up
thanks man....i should know this but I dont...whats the diffetence between the two? again ty
one more thing...im so confused I dont know where to start if I want to try this...im on konis e3 if that helps...again thanks, if u dont want to help and give a walk thru I understand
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The deodexed version is themeable, the odex version has a slightly faster boot time and uses less space in system. That's the quick and dirty answer, anyway. If you want to modify it at all, flash the deodexed version, otherwise just flash the odexed version.
You're going to flash it the same way you'd flash any other rom. Follow the directions in the thread, I'm not sure if you'll need to flash the updated radios, etc. If you don't know how to flash a rom - I know you have a custom rom installed, but a lot of people have someone else root/flash for them - there should be a walkthrough floating around somewhere. If you need help or just want clarification, shoot me a pm. I have a fairly lengthy write up on everything to do with rooting/flashing/recovery/etc, I'd be happy to send you that or help you out.

The wimax, prl, and radio are optional; they will update what the are supposed to. You'll only brick your phone if you do a battery pull/battery dies during an update of the radio. You don't have to update any of those if you don't want to, but just wipe the cache and dalvik, then flash if you want to.
thank man...whats the benefit of updating those, which kernal should I use andwhats I hear its sense 1.0?
arent we on like 2.0 something?

Nothing really besides having an updated connection possibilities...PRI can affect your battery, but if its good, no need to change it. Yea, its sense 1.0, and there are sense 3.0 roms out there.
why would an upgrade downgrade like it did? whar the difference between 3 and 1¿

you wont be able to update just the sense part of your 2.3.4. you will need to download a custom ROM that has sense 3.0 or higher already built into it.
then will i have to re-root? Do you know of such a rom?

(my girlfriend) recently updated her software to 2.3.4, the phone has never been rooted b4, just to be sure, there is currently no way to root? if so how? i recently followed the same steps i did on my own phone a few months back (unrevoked3) but was unsuccessful.

help please :(

my wife just got her dinc2 back, her first was rooted and all that good stuff but before i could root the new phone and put a custom rom on i realized she was running 2.3.4. It did not come with this software that i know but at some point in the night it updated on its own so my question is this. how do i, if it is even possible yet root the 2.3.4 hboot .98?
2.3.4 can't be rooted yet.

i used the methods described there and they do indeed work.
running cyanogenmod 7 on my dinc2 now, It came from verizon with 2.3.4 and hboot 0.98
just follow the directions there (exactly) and you will be set.

[Q] How do I update?

How do I update to 2.3.7? I get the notification but everytime I try and update it reboots to CWM and aborts.
Bump.

Latest update for us is 2.3.5
You can get 2.3.7 by flashing some custom rom, such as cm7.

Then that's what I need I assumed it was 2.3.7 because of custom roms. Still my question remains... How do I update...

I said this after someone told me what you just said... This thread doesn't even have 2 pages of posts and you can't read 2 replies before....
Regardless, I want to know how to flash an update. Would I have to uninstall CWM and install the update that way then reinstall CWM, or is there a way that is easier?
For official updates you need stock HTC recovery. That's why it boots to cwm and aborts. Try the unroot tool by rezo. It installs stock recovery for you. You can't be rooted too, I've heard. So use that tool and all should be fine.

If your internal partition has Data++ or Stock hboot and your SD Card already has a SD-ext partition, you can flash the BCM ICS ROM available here. I have been using this for couple of weeks now and it is rather smooth and stable.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403113
You can select the stock method for installation and activate apps2sd once the ROM has booted by going to Performance > Mounts2SDManagement.
Hope you can manage.
