My galaxy nexus lost download mode !!!! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I don't know how that's happened.. I am using my nexus on liquit smooth latest version and the phone's not booting up while i am gaming on PC.
I tried to go into recovery and reinstall the ROM ( liquid ). but when in installing progress, the phone failed to be installed the rom somehow and automatically going to google icon screen at the very start. I am pretty sure download mode is available at that time. then I sent my phone to my local phone shop to get it repair. 3 days later the shop technician gave up with my phone's problem. When I tested my phone after that .. my nexus gotten into even worse condition ! even google icon's colors are not right ! I can't go into the download mode ! I can't call recover mode either !!!! .. WTF .. Did my phone bircked? All i can see now is ruined Google screen , Ruined fastboot screen and Ruined Download mode screen. all of them are with wrong graphic placements and wrong colors.. can't go anywhere beyond them. SOMEBODY HELP ME !!!! PLEASE !! :crying:

Ok ur in quite a fix. U tried flashing using adb.

If you can get into the bootloader, regardless of what the screen looks like, and the PC recognises the unit in fastboot then you can flash the factory image. Download it from Google and see if this fixes things. If not, you can then send it back under warranty (assuming it's still covered)

What about the riff box with gnx file ? someone told me that.. i don't know where to find it. pls let me know?

I would try OMAPflash before that. Also, that's what you get for taking your baby to the "local phone shop".

bricked, or broken Galaxy Gio after flashing.

Today I went my friend's new galaxy gio flash, and there is something seriously wrong! All I know is that everything went well, with the odin multi downloader. I mean, I at the end of the flashing, the message "pass" saw. And from then on, you can do nothing with the phone. The only thing left on the screen after booting, are vertical colored lines. The phone no longer charging via the adapter, even with the USB connection. In download mode either. Has anyone a solution or explanation? I already have quite a few ROMs on various mobile phones geflased, that was not always 100% as it should, but there was always a quick solution to this order. But this, I've never seen or read somewhere on a forum ... so I fear the worst ...
Did you follow instructions on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16979859&postcount=549 ?
Did you use Odin 4.42?
Is the phone a GT-I5660? (Sticker behind battery) Or a slightly different model?
Can you still get it into download mode?

Ruud

I've done everything as it should, it was not the first time I did this. The problem is solved, as I am today with my friend's cell phone to exchange. And lucky he just got a new. But I would just like to know what's wrong.
i have same problem on my archos tablet
but we actually killed the phone you will need to screw every piece of your gio including touch panel etc and get everything lose and then wait a few days let battery drain out also and put everything back
Sent using xda premium
Try to start phone in download mode.
Sent from my GT-S5660 using XDA App
try these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20922716&postcount=7
Just remove the battery and ofcourse the usb cable.
Just wait for about 5 minutes.
Than put the battery back in en go to recovery mode and do a factoryreset and partitionwipe.
If that's not working, do the same thing over again and than try a new flash.
What whent wrong?
Could be a lot of things.
Faulty cableconnection/ kies running in the background ( or sommething else what try to use the usbconnection.
Better is to leave the computer alone during flashing, go for a walk or tiese you gf..............

[q] semi brick

Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to resolve a SEMI-BRICK. There is no way to enter recovery mode or fastboot.
Was installing a ROM when I got an error and never could turn on the phone. Only I get the screen with the mobile and pc with an exclamation mark in the middle.
Appreciate your help.
PS: sorry for my English
Javier
If you can't get to download mode you might be screwed. Can you get into download mode? If you can then you can just use odin or fastboot to push the factory rom to the phone and it will work again. Obviously you lose root but you can re-root afterwards. Good luck.
I find no way to enter download mode. in any way that I only try to turn the screen appears to indicate in the query.
There is no way to fix it?
thanks
Hey, in all the time on here I have never heard of a bricked Nexus.
Ok so just to be sure when the phone is off and you hold volume down and the power button it does nothing? Sorry just want to be sure this is the case...
probe all possible combinations and all leading me to the same, the screen with the exclamation mark. and on volume +, volume - and power and volume + and - and on
Ah no dude. That sounds bad. I might be wrong but you may need to go back to your provider and tell them it just switched off and wont work anymore.
Do you see the Google logo and the lock symbol when you turn it on or just this exclamation mark?
Obviously if you go back to your provider don't mention anything about roms or rooting as that voids your warranty but if they can't see the Google logo with the lock then they wont know you were rooting and romming it.
That would drive me crazy so I hope you get sorted soon.
The issue is that here in Argentina is not this phone. I bought online and sent me the U.S.. I have therefore not who wear it.
have you tried the usb jigs? i tried it on my nexus and it boots it into download mode

That might be worth a shot!
That I'll see if I can prove it today night. It is the only hope left for me.
Yeah, good luck man.
Well folks, with all the pain of the soul I confirm that I have is a full-BRICK. Last night at the JIG probe, and the only thing it does is turn on the phone and see the same screen BRICK. Since I can not think what else to do, only use it as a paperweight as they say
Any chance you try leaving battery out for a while, give it at least a good 10 minutes
Neither. I've left it up all night without battery and nothing.

Bad news Javii! So what are you going to do next?
Today I will try to recognize me either linux, so maybe you can do a fastboot to install the original rom. Because I said if you see the exclamation point is because it is a semi-brick
I used to get that screen with my Galaxy Tab when flashing the wrong ROM.
If the ODIN and original files are available for you to use, just use that and it should fix your phone.

[Q] Broken Screen and Locked.

Ok so recently I managed to completely destroy the screen to my GS3 recently. Now this wouldn't be a problem except for the fact that my phone is now locked and I can't get ANY of my data off of it. I looked into using the Find My Mobile service Samsung offers, but it's not available in the US.
Is there anyway I can unlock my phone so I can recover my stuff??

how bad is the screen, can yu see some screen left that can help yu see when yu boot up, if your screen is completely destroyed try restoring your phone using Odin yu just need to connect your phone try to put it into download mode until yu see a yellow sign at the top of the boxes in odin and that means its accepted, it successfully went into download mode relief that the phone is working so just pull up some firmware file yu downloaded from sammobile.com or whateva site
if yu dont know how to restore using odin GOOGLE is there for yu
all your data is erased but if its still there try finding a tool/hack from XDA that can do that for you or software that can erase your data (YOUR PHONE HAS TO BE CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER AT ALL TIMES TO WORK IF THE SCREEN IS COMPLETELY DAMAGED)
GOODLUCK
if all dont work am sure there is someone that can help you here in XDA or Android authority, central, police all this sites can help you..........'

[Q] Unable to get out of safe mode after screen broke

Hello Everybody,
I've been lurking around xda-forums for quite sometime and thought I will register now.
So here is the story:
I broke my Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 when it fell down from PC table while it was charging I went to a local repair shop and got the screen replaced. But since then, the phone does not come out of safe mode. I tried so many things advised all over the internet but was not successful. Tried pressing those 3 buttons while rebooting, tried moving it to download mode and then rebooting, tried factory reset and even flashed the OS once.
I read somewhere that issue can occur if touch key strip is not placed properly, got my local shop guy to re-do it and no use. He got 4 other screens and all screens give the same result - bloody safe mode
What do you guys suggest? Is there a way one can remove that safe mode functionality built into Android? Or, any custom ROM which will have pre-installed apps? I dont care if it says Safe Mode at the bottom, just need to run few essential apps.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

try rooted stock rom or any good custom rom like of mr balliboxer or go to customer care
good luck :good::good:
I was able to get the phone out of Safe Mode . My local shop guy did not give up and managed to get it out of safe mode. The problem was - faulty screen. He kept testing some screens and finally one was perfect.
Since there is no warranty on the phone now, it's time for some real fun.

Bricked S4 Mini Duos GT-I9192

Hello everyone, hope someone would be able to help me recover this phone
The phone gets stuck at the logo screen, left it like that for 7 hours but no change
Recovery mode gives a black screen, not sure if it does access it but display nothing or doesn't access it at all
I have tried using Kies but every time I type the model as per the sticker under the battery, Kies replies with "Please check model number"
I can go into Download mode, Odin detects the phone as COM 3, but doesn't go beyond the initialization step
Some people actually suggested smacking the phone on the power button side, I did it as I was desperate but nothing changed
As the list above states, I am out of ideas and not sure if I can get this phone to work again.
Just to let everyone know, it had a stock firmware, no root and no custom recovery.

according to a repair shop, it is more of a hardware issue and some parts would need changing but cost was almost the price of the phone if i were to sell it while working so it wasnt worth it
how was your experience with the battery of the S4 Mini Duos. For how long does ir last ?? and how much time does was it taking ??
Thanks,,
