[Q] Mystery Widget - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

My brother has this widget/icon on his rooted S III and I'm trying to identify it so that I can eliminate it. It will move from screen to screen, and when you touch it it powers the phone off. Anyone have any idea what it is or how to get it off the screen?

This may sound stupid but have you tried long pressing on it and then dragging it into the garbage bin?

I haven't physically seen it or been able to play with it myself, but he said that whenever he touched it that it would power off the machine. And, to be frank, it is one of those cases where the phone has become smarter than the owner, so trying to diagnose this remotely has been a challenge. LOL But I think my nephew figured it out as some kind of power app that he'd installed.

Display Problems

I have a problem with an Xperia Play, the screen goes all 'fuzzy' sort of like a untuned TV. Sort of like this -:

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But with different colours in.
This seemed to happen with an upgrade to 2.3.4, but I think that might just be coincedence.
Any else experienced this? Pressing the screen in various places does seem to bring the display back.
I'm thinking this is probably hardware related.

It could be a loose connection to your LCD screen. (Just speculating though)

That what I thought, but tempting as it may be to crack it open, I'm going to to send it back to Sony. They want me to run update service program etc, then arrange collection if it is still broken.
Guess I'll have to re-lock my bootloader before hand
I have the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

what is the logo on top left

anyone can help to identify it?
what is the top left corner icon for?

It means that this device is not compatible with any "i" device. Iike iPad, iPhone, iMac, iHome, iBaiter, etc. lol.
i device?
what do u mean? this is a new bought phone and become like this after upgrade to latest software.
Drop down the notification bar and see if there is something there silly...but I would have to say that has something to do with a blocked notification of some sort from an app or within the system.
task/ktoonsez AOKP Jelly smeared on my S3.
That, my friend, would be a good ol american joke. Truth is I have no idea what that icon is for.

[Q] Help with repair (flex ribbon?)

Anyone know if buying this would fix broken/non functional capacitive buttons on the captivate glide? Seems like a simple enough fix, i've honestly only worked on fixing computer my whole life and the occasional ps3 as well. cell phones are something I've never attempted so if anyone could lend a hand that'd be great. I'm sure tearing the phone apart i'd be able to figure out where it goes, i just need to know if that's the right part. would make my wife's day if she could use the buttons again! thanks in advance!

I can't comment if that piece will fix your phone or not, however in the meantime for a workaround::

that actually doesn't work on any of the newer stock ROMs that I've tested on. It was also less than helpful because it leaves a 2 pixel opening for pressing the shutter button on the camera. ha. i can get the nav bar enabled in cm10, but without camera my wife won't let me leave it installed. thanks though!

Reaplaced screen, now its turning white.

Hey, so i replaced my screen the other day and it worked fine until today when it suddenly started turning white. When i turn the screen on my it looks completely fine, after about 5 seconds a white shadow starts to appear in the background and slowly starts to make certain parts of my screen white. I opened the phone again and looked at all the cables to see if something was loose, but did not see anything wrong. Do any of you know what could be wrong?

Before you replace the screen the phone was normal? It can be LCD itself, someone with more accurate knowledge can help you with this. Better luck!

Question Screen turns on when shaken & Google search bar

Hello.
This is my first time using a smartphone, and I'm new to IT as well, so forgive me for being dumb.
I recently got a Nokia G20 (Model number: TA-1336). It has Android 12.
Whenever I "shake" the phone, or just move it a little, the screen turns on. I believe it has something to do with motion sensing, but I couldn't find anything in the settings to turn this feature off.
Please help me.
On another note, is it possible to get rid of the google search bar at the bottom of the home screen? Without disabling the Google app, if possible.
Thanks very much in advance.
If this has been asked before, I'm very sorry for causing trouble.
Thank you very much WilliamMike, your advice fixed the first one!
The search bar, however, I still can't remove. The internet says to either install some NovaLauncher (which I'd prefer not to) or disable the Google app (this could break some features I assume).
Sorry for taking up your time, I appreciate your help!

Any idea where to go from here?
