Is LightFlow safe? - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

Not sure if this is the right place to post it, so sorry if it's not.
Is LightFlow safe? I've read the permissions and they make me.... uncomfortable. How safe is it? Can it access credit card info etc?

Yes its safe.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

Yes and it's an awesome app!
Edit:
I felt I should add more here. All the permissions are so that lightflow knows when to turn on the lights you assign to the apps. That's all. The Dev is stand up and extent helpful. No need to worry.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

See a full explanation of the permissions from the dev, at the bottom of

Yes it is safe. Been in your shoes before and decided to give it a try.
Awesome app! Cool to have colors light notification though rather than plain white light
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

Been running it since getting my GNex almost a year ago and haven't had an issue. The Dev is on here and is super communicative. Its a must have for anyone with a phone that has a multicolor LED.
I love being able to come up to my phone and immediately knowing it's status without even picking up. My screen time of battery use has probably dropped 20% because of this app.

[Q] LED Notifications

Since there isn't an LED light specifically for notifications, is there a way to make the LEDs for menu, home, back, and search light up for said notifications? It would be even better if each one lit up for specific apps so I could know why it's lighting up before I even turn on the screen.
Thanks for any help!
My suggestion would be NoLED.

Yeah, that's what I'm doing, but was hoping one could take advantage of the buttons' LEDs.

The closest we can get to LED notifications is BLN. You need to use a BLN compatible kernel and use the app BLN Control.

I'm trying to tweak some things on system tuner and my phone rebooted (but took a bit to turn on) my blood pressure dropped, I thought I killed my phone!
But after some reading.. it pretty much means the phone does not like those settings, change them.. right? Phone works fine now though, but I was wondering for future reference

Yeah, basically. If you are undervolting, you need to take tiny increments to make sure the phone is stable before going any further.

App that turns off keyboard light

Is there an app that will turn off the keyboard lights? i know about Display > Touch Key duration. Thanks
Doubt it. Why would you want to turn off the keyboard lights?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I927 using xda app-developers app
Waste of battery in daylight
Another really great reason to turn them off is so you can watch Netflix at night. Screenfilter works, as do Keyboard backlight controller and AdjBrightness.
You can change it's duration to the lowest settings which is 1.5 seconds in the settings.I did that and trust me it's hardly on. It's in settings - display - touch key light duration.

At some point I was running a battery saver that did this when I dropped below a certain percentage of battery life. It might have been Easy Battery Saver. Then again, it also could have been the built in Power Saver function. Has that been tried?
Did the last two posters even read the thread? Not only did OP say he knows how to reduce the time, I just gave the names of 3 apps that can do it and people are still posting suggestions to reduce the on time.
Yeesh. No need for the hostility. My suggestion was not for reducing the light timeout, but shutting the keyboard light off completely, as was requested. I did see that you posted some apps and I was merely suggesting another app.

Take it easy....I was simply stating that at 1.5 seconds it is hardly on and does not waste much battery.

So that you can save battery and BTW our mind is good enough to remember where the touch captive keys are...
You can use Screen Filter app to do this (just set filter to 100% and unset Enable buttons backlight checkbox)

Is it possible to change notification led colour?

Is it possible to have diff colour for diff notifications?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
you can't change it yourself.
red is assigned to power(charging/low power)
green for actual notifcations
blue for sound recording.

Actually you can (somewhat)...Well I did with the Handsent SMS app. Its possible to change the colors for the notifcation within that app so I'm guessing that the notifications colors only work if the app has it within the settings.

I'm getting something different on my Note 2.
Red is the same, for power.
Blue is for notifications (sms and such)
Haven't seen a green notification light yet.

That means with the right software it can be changed. Maybe some developer will be able to come up with something

Be aware that the install process will make you turn off air view. Just turn it back on after installing.

Wow, thanks to this thread, I finally came to know that Note 2 does have a notification LED just like galaxy s3 as someone told me it doesn't have. Lightflow is good but drains a lot of battery. Try this as well https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5rb28ubGlnaHRtYW5hZ2VyIl0.

Any possibilities of Notification LED to get damaged or burn out by using this (or any similar) app?

Cyanogenmod 10 softkey light settings.

I am using the Cyanogenmod 10 nightly builds and was wondering if there are supposed to be settings to adjust the time out of the softkey lights and if so where am I missing them or is there a possible work around?

I could possibly create an app for this. If you change the permissions of /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/brightness to read only, they stay on. But when you shut the screen off the lights shut off, but when you turn the screen back on, they stay off and never come on. So if i created an app to right a value of 1 to the brightness file then change the permission to read only after receiving the screen on broadcast, it should work.
Only issue is, i just reinstalled windows. NOTHING is set up yet other than basic drivers so it might take some time unless someone else has the ability to create it.
That sounds great. No real hurry its more of a quality of life improvement for me. If you or anyone wants to definitely let me know I and I'm sure many others, would greatly appreciate it

Notification LED

Is there a way to change the notification led when i get a message or missed call? Ive tied light flow and other apps buy nothing works. Btw my OG is reported
SPRINT has a habbit of having their phones built with 2 color LED's red/green. The Nexus has multis but I believe we got left out of the fun with our OG's. Maybe somebody else knows other wise but I have been unsuccesful and am sure this is the case
My HTC Hero had a single (white) color roller ball but other heros built for other companies had the multi color rollers for instance.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983941
I mentioned this same problem earlier. No fix that I can find, though I'd definitely throw some $ towards someone finding a way to make the notification led flash faster, even if it requires root

I got the LED to blink alot.
Rooted with esFileExplorer
Open /system/etc/system.xml
Change notification_light_pulse from 0 to 1.
Save.
Enjoy

I tried that before, didn't seem to work with texts/email notifications. Still around 30 seconds.
Yes it speeds up charging notifications. The rest are still slow
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Yea, it would be nice to find a way to speed up the blink frequency without rooting or anything.
