[Q] Disable Google Voice Typing - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
Running stock 4.1.2 version of android (stock recovery etc), but rooted with CF-Auto root.
I cant rembember if this has happened only after rooting, but:
Google voice typing keeps enabling itself. When im popping out the keyboard (Samsung stock), a notification pops up and asks for "choose input method". There I can either choose Samsung stock or the Google voice typing. There is also a button to "set up input", where I untap the Google voice typing and leave Samsung stock enabled. Now the notification is gone - for a moment. After few hours / "keyboarpopups" the same notification pops up to choose the input method, Google voice typing available again..
Cheers!

so annoying
i have the same exact problem, and it is so annoying. the mic icon replaces the "," and i hate that.
I keep unchecking it from the keyboard setting but it keeps coming back!!!
anyone with solution? i searched without luck....

Disabling Stock Keyboard

This has probably been asked before, but is there a way to disable the stock keyboard in ICS? I just switched to using the new Swiftkey and the little pop up in the notification bar is driving me crazy.
I went into Keyboard settings and unchecked the Selector Notification...but for some reason, it still shows up. Anyone know how I can make this go away?

If you are running stock, no. But some roms have added it as an option to remove that.
good day.
I'm running ParanoidAndroid. I disabled the notification indicator...but it still shows up, probably because the stock keyboard is still enabled.

You can rename or just delete system/app/LatinIME.apk and if you don't use google voice typing then untick it in language and input.
good day.
Just disable the stock keyboard in applications...
EDIT.. Once you disable "Android Keyboard" in applications, you have to reboot.
Google Voice Typing is still an option though.. so you may have to disable that too if the notification appears.
Second edit... after unchecking Google Voice Typing... the language selector is no longer there.

This may be a little late, but regarding the Galaxy S4, if your phone is rooted, you can find an App Manager app, or download ROM Toolbox, and you can go find Samsung Keyboard, and either freeze, or uninstall it, I chose to freeze it just in case I ever had to use it again, I downloaded Swiftkey years ago and that little notification icon has been seriously bothering me

[Q] Help! Text input stopped working

My phone is stock, with "Samsung Keyboard" and "Google Voice typing" input methods.
Suddenly today when I bring up the keyboard to type, the letters pop up above the "keys" but do not show up in the input field. Doesn't matter what app I am trying to enter text into. I can't enter text any more. Even the Google Voice method does not work - nothing happens when I hit the mic symbol. When I swipe a word, the word appears in blue above the keys, but selecting the word does not put it in the text input field.
I have tried resetting the keyboard and input settings; I have restarted the phone, etc. Problem persists.
Help?

Look for google voice search on the play store. I had a problem similar to this one and this fixed the problem for me.
EDIT: try this link. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.voicesearch&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5nb29nbGUuYW5kcm9pZC52b2ljZXNlYXJjaCJd

Here's another keyboard that might let you at least type while you're trying to get it fixed.

[Q] Google voice typing enabling itself

I switch off Google voice typing in settings and at some point it switches back on again.
Have I missed something in the settings?
Workaround
I have battled with this problem as well. I am using Google Keyboard, and am very happy with it.
Today I found a decent workaround:
In Google Keyboard settings, there is a setting for "Voice Input key", under which you can either move the little mike button to the symbol keyboard, or remove it altogether.

Keyboard input notification?

I have a weird thing going on with my sprint (rooted on stock rom) gs3. Out of nowhere the keyboard input notification keeps showing. I had the Google voice input unchecked and it was staying that way after a reboot, but now it turns on automatically after each reboot. I haven't done anything at all, no mods, no apps were downloaded.
How can I make the option stick?
Thanx.
Notice that the Google voice typing setting got checked on its own while I had the phone on.
For some reason I suspect the Google search.

Anyone else not able to use Google voice typing in samsung keyboard?

I can't use Google voice typing, it always uses s voice or the Mic button does nothing if I disable s voice. Anyone have the same?
Yep. Same problem.
I downloaded Google Keyboard and Google Handwriting. Fixes the problem. The only functionality lost is the auto switch to S-Pen from traditional keyboard.
Here's a WORKAROUND - That actually works!
So I have been going crazy with this - My Note is an AT&T and I have been experimenting since it came out to get Google Voice Typing working again - I would have no problem with the way they integrated S-Voice into the voice typing from the Samsung keyboard except for one minor problem - It SUCKS SO BAD IT ISN"T EVEN WORTH A MINUTE OF YOUR TIME. I mean its the most inaccurate Voice recognition ever. Probably because it's not even developed in an English speaking country. But whatever. Here is the workaround:
When You want to voice type and have the Samsung Keyboard loaded, pull down the notification shade and choose: "Select Keyboard" Before doing anything else choose: "Setup Input Methods" in blue at bottom of the dialog. In here, make sure Google Voice Typing is selected, and alternately unselect Samsung Voice Input - you could keep it but why? It's not like it works in any usable way - Unselect it.
Now whenever you want to voice type you have to pull down notifications, tap "Select Keyboard" and "Google Voice Typing" - Yes this is an annoyance, and it really is just a holdout until this gets fixed, but you CAN use Google Voice typing and you can keep the Samsung Keyboard. The good part is when you are down voice typing tapping the X in upper right switches you back to the keyboard without needing to pull notifications down - It only works this way. tapping the mic either does nothing or brings up Samsung Voice input if you haven't disabled it. If someone finds a full fix - please let us know..
