4.2.2 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Since I have updated to 4.2.+ i am not able to connect my xbox to my tether program. ( i pay for the tethering from verizon, just saying for those who wish to flame about tether) I use the built in tethering on the Gnex and All other devices , connect, PS3, Wii U, N7 etc.... except the 360.
Has anyone had this problem and been able to solve it?
Thank you

that actually sounds like your xbox compatibility issue instead of the android issue, afterall your other devices connects no problem.

I have the same problem!! I am running a stock rooted 4.1 rom , and it tethers great.. if I update to any ROM 4.2.X I can not tether my Xbox!! Everything else works great.. I can not figure it out. Its not the Xbox its something to do with 4.2.X.

Tether android to android??

I’d like to tether a spare Moto Milestone android to another Moto (or HTC) android. I’d mainly like to sem-permanently mount one in my car and able to receive calls on it through one in my pocket (with a sim card). Id’ also like to be able to use GPS-google maps and Nav. on it.
I’d basically be sharing a sim card through blue tooth. Any on have any thoughts?
Thanks, PK
Well for starters I've tried tethering android to android a few times in the past just to sync a phone with no sim and for some odd reason it didn't work. At the time I was rooted using one of the tethering apps from the code.google.com site. But I did find later on that it worked only when I used the built in tether feature in Froyo as opposed to the wifi-tether app I got from the above mentioned site which required root access. Hope that helps. (...I also remember one time being able to tether A to A using one similar to the one I said didn't work for me but it was a newer version so maybe that was just a new improved release)
Well
You will have to tether via Bluetooth. The Motorola Milestone isn't capable of AP tethering and can only create Adhoc networks. There are patches for Android that can make your phone recognize Adhoc though, look into it...

Apple products don't play nicely with Android or just about any kind of product not "Jobs approved".

Sorry for the delay... I like to have a life after work.
Wifi Tether works just fine for me with my iTouch, but I can't even get that thing to connect bluetooth to my headset. It refuses to even see any of my other phones.

Bluetooth tether problem

I'm trying to figure out if at all its possible to tether with bluetooth to my Asus Transformer. I've search everywhere with no luck. Someone mentioned that the custom kernel with CONFIG_BT_BNEP should be able to tether via bluetooth. Does anyone know which kernel contains the "CONFIG_BT_BNEP" file?

How to get Infrastructure Mode??

Hello I have a S-Offed and rooted Droid Incredible 2 running stock 2.3.4. I also have an HP TouchPad. The TouchPad requires that it connects to "infrastructure mode" connections.
Now I know that the Incredible 2 is "hardware capable" of putting out an infrastructure mode output. I used the built in tether feature on CM7 without a hitch.
I'm wondering what I need to do to accomplish this with my phone on Sense? I want to run the stock ROM for now? Would flashing a new kernel help? If so does anybody have any recommendations for a good Sense kernel?
thanks for the help
Are you tethering? Barnacle wifi tether worked great for me on sense, and my touch pad is all I use tethering for.

yeah I mean the TouchPad sees the hotspot, it just won't connect to it. That's exactly what it would do to my Droid, which would only do Ad-Hoc. Just need to figure out how to get it to do infrastructure mode.
Like I said I know this phone is capable of it. Just need to figure out how.
thanks

Chromecast Tethering

Hey guys so I tether once and a while when needed with my verizon gnex which works just fine with multiple devices like my laptop and nexus 7. I figured this was a piece of cake easy thing for my chromecast as well, but it appears I was wrong. I am currently on the kevdliu 4.3 rom which continues to allow my tethering ability but for some reason my chromecast cannot seem to work with it. Even if I do manage to connect to it which is rare, I cannot then access it from another device*nexus 7*. The cast button doesnt appear and when I then run the chromecast app it states that my chromecast isnt connected and tries to go through the connection process again.
So I know you are all about to say things like "maybe it wont work on the phone" or "this should go in the chromecast threads section" which for the second I almost did, but the interesting thing is my coworker with his galaxy s4 tethered just fine between my tablet and chromecast. He has tmobile and uses the official free one through them as he isnt rooted.
any suggestions?
edit, I am now seeing something interesting. It seems that although both my laptop and tablet appear to be connected to the tethering, if I started using my laptop first then the moment I picked up my tablet it then disconnects me from the internet on my laptop.
Have you figured anything out?
I currently am in the same situation too. I don't have a home wifi yet and use tethering for most of the things I do online.
I can't get anything to work whether trying to set it up from the phone or laptop.
