Lock screen rotation bug - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

My wife and I both have a GN2. Mine is running MyRom and she is completely stock (no root or anything).
She has a problem with the lock screen. Sometimes it will try to display in horizontal mode when the phone is being held in portrait orientation. This causes the lock screen pattern to be cut off.
I have never had this happen on my phone but she had to get her phone replaced (different reason) and it did it on both phones. She has to restart her phone to be able to unlock it.
I tried to mock up what it is doing but my artistic skill is lacking...

I wish I could screen shot because I've experienced the same. But I still just swipe up to unlock and it works just fine. You know how on nexus services the jelly bean clock where the hours and minutes are a different font abs one is bold over another is a description of how the display looks

Check her rotation settings, smart rotation and all. Im sure u already did that and it made no difference but its always the first thing to do.
From my experience whenever thst happens its because of excessive background apps are open killing the processor. Does she kill apps at all? Restarts the phone from time to time? Tell her to kill apps instead of backing out, hold the home button and the right buttin should kill the background apps and thr left bitton will take u to the ram and frees that up by clicking another button.
You can also download advanced mobile care on the phones and it has an option to kill apps when the screen wakes up, slight delay before input, bit it kills background and app processes. Good luck and report bavk

Lock screen timer

Maybe I'm thinking of a cyanogen mod feature here, but wasn't there a way to delay the lock screen from engaging for a set amount of time when you manually turn off the screen in gingerbread? Its very handy.
The "automatic lock" in security settings doesn't seem to apply if you manually turn off the screen.
Anyone else missing this feature or am I missing something obvious ? Thanks

I think he means delaying the security screen. And pretty sure that's just in cyanogen mod
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
For clarity what I mean is when you turn off the screen manually and then turn it back on a few seconds later it requires the unlock code. It can be delayed with a setting so that the unlock isn't required if the screen has only been off for less than x time, and from the sounds of it, its a cyanogen setting. No big deal, thanks.

I believe what you're looking for is on the AOKP Rom

Can't find it in 4.0.3 aokp
This? Lol, sorry if im still misunderstanding

Edit: never mind, I went back and read the op. Lol
You can set it for up to 30 minutes but, the screen has to time out by itself. I have mine set for 1 minute for the screen timeout and 30 minutes on the lock delay.

What a great development. Appreciate your hard work mate. Truly a difficult work.

Nice, will test this out!
Does it work for anyone?
Wake up lag is the exynos chip waiting for the modem to wake up. Changing your lockscreen will not help dude, unless it prevents your phone from going to sleep, which will decimate your battery life.

It doesn't seem to matter how many times people repeat this over and over. Myself included.
I have given up repeating myself and explaining to people that it's the exynos blah blah it can't be fixed without wakeblah blah. Its a loosing battle. Just let them believe whatever they want to beleive, if it seems to make them happy.

[Q] Galaxy Note 2 goes into Silent Automatically

This is driving me mad.
My new Galaxy Note 2 randomly goes onto Silent mode. I thought it might be to do with motion so I switch all the settings off. Also there are two settings in display regarding motion and I've switched those off as well.
Still it goes randomly into Silent when I get back to the phone.
Anyone else having this problem or could it be a rougue app doing this?
I have read people complaining about this on the S3.
Thanks
Anis
Long shot, but... Did you check "lock mode" in settings?
Switch off your block mode if it is on in settings.

I think this is a builtin fault of system and it is with android since ICS
Thanks for the replies:
1) Don't know what you mean by Lock Mode?
2) Block mode is definitely not set.
It just did it again.

Sorry. My phone's language is Portuguese and I had to make a guess at the English equivalent. It is probably "block" as leony74 said. 6th entry on the Settings menu.
Sorry folks, I think it was my fault.
My Islamic prayer time app automatically put the phone in silent at prayer time.
Well, I am 99% certain it was this anyway.
I'll report back if it still is going into silent.
Thanks for all your help.
Exactly, Salati app was doing the trick, and the image confirm your theory.

I finally found one of the possible reasons! It was avg antivirus app that was causing same problem in my note 2. Try uninstalling avg antivirus. It worked for my phone

[SOLVED]Auto-rotate too sensitive on right side

Hello,
My N7100's a little too sensitive to rotation on the right. This just started happening 2 days ago, out of the blue. For the left side, I have to rotate my phone properly into landscape mode but to the right, even if it is tilted 1/8th of an inch e.g. while picking phone up, switching hands or left handed operation, it will suddenly rotate to landscape.
I have tried calibrating the gyroscope some 10 times but to no avail.
Any solution to this?
Thanks!
SOLVED: Read post #8
No one?
It's a bug in samsung touchwiz (4.1.2)..I have it too only solution I got was to use ultimate rotation control it will help or else if you can wait for samsung to fix it in 4.2.2
Here's the app link I hope it helps

@mufaddalezzi Thank you for your reply. However, my problem has not been solved by the app since it doesnt adjust the sensor.
My problem:
Phone thinks its tilted to the right while it is only 5-6 degrees to the right. I cant play games that require motion sensing such as Temple run because the character is running to the right with the phone being perfectly straight.
XDA, i need your help!
P.s: i tried restoring to an older nandroid backup from TWRP but to no avail
Tried. Calibration from the service menu at *#0*# under Sensors and again, no help. This wathe post that fixedit for someone else

Maybe it's a hardware failure(accelerometer or gyroscope)..that means you might need to change/replace it
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Sure? I am not covered by warranty and would hate to sell my phone the gyro works fine its just that the calibration of it is wrong, the phone thinks it is tilted slightly to the right
I figured it out. For anyone else with this problem:
1) Boot phone into safe mode (Turn phone off and turn it back on. As soon as animation starts press and hold volume down button - It should say SAFE MODE in the lower left corner of the screen when turned on)
2) Reboot phone
Voila!
Mystery solved. Case closed.

Always On Display

Is there a way to have this feature on our phones? I've tried a few apps, but it isn't the same.
Any modules or rooted apps you might recommend will be greatly appreciated ????
If you will leave the phone upright, you can use an app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree&hl=en
Glance Plus is close, but not perfect.
"Always On" on the play store is really good. It is probably the best that I have found honestly with the most features. The developer is open to suggestions as well.
I use Tasker for that. I set it up so when connected to any power, screen time out changes to 23 hrs, 59 min, 59 sec if screen is on. When state is disconnected from power, time out changes back to 1 minute.

You can have the screen stay on when plugged in from developer options
Max OD's TMobile S7 port had the best implementation of AOD I've used, but it was still buggy and annoying...i disabled it straight away. I don't think Samsung has even had it working all that well. Different strokes and all that, but I don't see much point in the feature, makes the phone feel like an LG clamshell from '04.

I tried in on the Noble ROM. When unlocking the home screen, it would stay dark. I understand that's an issue with Dr Ketan's new ROM as well.

Hi
On the Note Edge 915 Noble Rom the screen saturates, like it is a Xray picture... But the AOD works with the fix that has been given in the third post of the Noble Rom. But the display beeing Xray'd isnt nice, so hopfully there will be a fix for this.
