touchscreen and cwm recovery not working - Xperia Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As title says touchscreeen and cwm recovery not working
I can boot up XP but screen doesn't work but all buttons work, but when I hard reset and press back button it doesn't enter recovery
what i have tried and tested
Tried 2 working digitizer and three working ear piece ribbons
and recently changed the sliding ribbon due to the common wear and tear problem
flashed .58 firmware (with custom kernel and stock kernel) FAILED!
tried doom kernel and lupus kernel, no difference still wont boot into recovery
stock rom and custom roms, still wont work
First digitizer failure started off as temperamental were if just pulled out battery and restarted it might go way and then became laggy
then last time it work perfectly for 12 hours and then suddenly it completely stopped and never worked again:crying:
Has anyone had similar problem or know what could be causing it as i have tried everything I can think of.
I know its not rom, kernel or firmware causing problem as i have stuck to using gingerbread OS
and all hardware mentioned above worked flawlessly before problem but I still checked with other spares I had

Problems after flashing

Hello everyone , until yesterday I had 0 problems with flashing ROM's ... Last night i tried to flash the newest Xylon and after i flashed it and it booted up, problems started ... My phone became so UNUSABLE that I had to pull battery out and boot into recovery - wipe - restore and continue ... Today the same thing happened when I tried to flash the newest Atom - and the same thing over again ... My recoveries are working great, since whenever I restore to them I have 0 problems ... Any1 has an idea? My recovery is purity ROM v4.4 + AK kernel purity v021. and it's working awesome ...
I had a issue with the latest version of xylon. GSM Gnex. It flashed fine then on reboot the phone kept restarting on the boot animation. Sometimes it wouldnt even make it to the boot animation. It would just restart on the google screen. Tried factory reset. Wiping the phone completely. I tried going back to stock but nothing worked. So i relocked the bootloader did a complete wipe. And now its on on its way back to samsung.

Thx for the answer, but my problems aren't quite like yours ... Seems that, whenever I want to flash a new ROM it slows down like hell, it takes like 3 - 5 secs to register a touch, and then another 3 - 5 secs till my phones DOES what I've pressed on ... I've got like 7.5 GB of free storage, so that shouldn't be the problem ... I've also heared about that problem with a certain "chip" - the phone gets so slow ( not really remember what the problem was ) - but my chip isn't the one that actually HAS that problem, so it's not that either ...

Stock firmware crashes / custom firmware restarts every few minutes

Hi All,
I am not sure if this is a hardware issue that I am facing or what.
Basically I was running Linaro CM11 which was working fine, but I got a goo.im that a update was available. So I downloaded and flashed this.
Everything seemed fine except after 5 minutes the phone did a reboot, it started up fine and same thing kept happening. So I flashed back to the previous version but the problem persisted.
So I downloaded a stock N7100 UK vodafone rom, flashed this but while doing so it seems the usb cable I was usb wasn't 100% and it crashed mid flash.
I used a JTAG to get the phone back into download mode and using a new cable re flashed the above stock rom. since the any stock ROM i flash goes into deep sleep and usually WONT wake up.
So i decided to re flash CM10 stable, which does not suffer the deep sleep but does suffer with reboots every few minutes so tried CM11, also tried a few other ROMS and im suffering either deep sleep or a reboot.
What is wrong with my phone, second to this I cannot turn on bluetooth if I try to on stock or custom the phone either just toggles straight back off or freezes completely and restarts itself or stays like that just hanging.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just to add to this post, iv tried Sammy 4.3, 4.1.2 & 4.0.1 I think on the last one all do more or less the same except they all crash loads on first boot. Some are unusable. Iv also tried Irish rom, France, Spain.
Same thing happens on all soon as the screen goes off it is almost impossible to get the phone to wake up. Also tried other kernels again with the same result or worse the room packs in.
Help :crying:

[Q] C1905 - Touch screen not respond after flashing custom ROM

I have discovered strange issue with my Xperia M (C1905).
I'm basically using stock ROM, but I wanted to flash other custom ROM. Flashing process always goes fine, without errors, but after rebooting with new ROM the touch screen is not responding at all (side buttons works fine).
I have tried to flash different ROMs (CM12, CM11, CM12.1, AOSP, ArchiDroid) and the results were exactly the same - phone boots up, but touch screen is not responding. I have flashed them using CWM and CyanogenMod Recovery. I haven't used TWRP, because the touch screen doesn't respond here either.
Phone is rooted, and bootloader is unlocked, I have flashed before different stock ROMs (15.4.A.1.9, 15.4.A.0.23), wiped data, cache and factory reset the phone, mainly followed all possible flashing tutorials.
When I was thinking what can be the reason of the behavior I think it could be due to this I have replaced broken digitizer couple of months ago. Seller claimed it was original Sony digitizer, but I cannot be sure of this.
I would really appreciate any help or suggestions, maybe I am doing something wrong?

Help with dead Xperia Play

Hi,
i was recently playing with my Xperia, trying to run 4.4 android.
I flashed legacyXperia CM11, with corresponding kernel (included in zip with rom).
It was working fine, i tried to run newer versions, HyperGamer kernel, but with no luck.
I settled with CM11, installed gapps. Play store was crushing, so i rebooted the phone.
After that, Xperia was dead. It vibrates after pressing power, but screen is black (at first, i light up a little, slightly brighter than typical black).
I tried flashing with flashtool stock GB and ICS and reFlash. I flashed different kernels with fastboot. Everything is going ok, but i still get only black screen.
Any suggestion? I really, really like my Xperia Play and i don't want to lose it :/

Try to flash stock GB FTF with flashtool....
Try with different (unpartitioned) sdcard...
Try flashing lupus kernel and see will it enter recovery when you boot (keep pressing vol- or vol+ while booting)...

if you tried flashing with other roms it may be related to your flex cable. when i bought my first xplay it was in a state as you described, black screen only. the guy i bought from told me he flashed a rom and device was bricked in the process. but he also told me before he flashed, the touchscreen was not quite responsive and he had issues with cameras.
so first i tried to flash the phone with stock rom but there was only blackscreen. i thought the problem was software related only after changing flex cable phone started booting and running normally.
it may be a bad coincidence in your case but if you haven't changed your flex cable in a while it may be the cause.

touch is irresponsive after trying rebooting . i was in havoc rom.

I switched off my p2 and then after sometime when i switched it on it got stuck in bootloop .i booted recovery touch was working first time. I rebooted again but again bootloop then again i booted twrp but this time touch didnt worked . i even flashed the stock rom but still touch is irresponsivce. EVERYTHING ELSE IS WORKING FINE WITH A MOUSE. THERE IS NOT EVEN ANY DAMAGE AS I NEVER DROPPED MY P2. PLEASE HELP IF ANYONE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
Just use gesture or open recent apps and then click on same app....everything would work fine...and yes it is a problem with havoc new update
