[Q] Help Getting Data working on MetroPcs Flashed Note 2 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I purchased a sprint galaxy note II that had aleady been flashed to metropcs for a good deal. I was able to get it activated for metropcs and currently have voice and mms functioning correctly. I have run into a dead end in trying to get the data to work for the phone. I have used the Galaxy Note2 toolkit. I am new to Odin and Clockwork Mod in general so this is becoming a bit tedious for me. I flashed the synergy Rom yesterday in a feable attempt to get my "data" back on track but now i realize I need help and guidance from the experts of the forum. Any guidance to point me in the right direction would be appreciated- for example- do I need to flash a radio, kernel, etc?... I hope I don't come off as a complete idiot considering I have spent hours on getting this thing Rooted- I really don't know what to do now. Thanks for the help.

Search for my guide on the galaxy s3 forum here. It worked for the evo 4g, evo 3d and galaxy s3, it should work on the note 2.
You wont get data without the proper provisioning. On these phones that requires using dfs or cdma tools. On htc phones it can be done with qpst.
Do the provisioning part of the guide and that should work.

Thanks Max, I figured the S3 would be a good place to start. I will work on it today.

Ok- Started the work on this today and wanted to give an update and where I am stuck. I am at BloodyKiller 86's section of the provisioning. I'm on windows 8- I installed the Diag drivers and can now see in my device manager a tab under modems that lists "Samsung Mobile USB Modem." In checking the properties it shows Com 3. On my Galaxy Note 2 when I do ##3424# it pulls up a PhoneUtil screen(UART)- I can either select CMDA Modem or PDA and then below that there is a Qualcom USB SETTING tab that gives me the following options: (mtp), (mtp+adb), (ptp), (ptp +adb), (RMNET+DM+Modem), and (DM+Modem+ADB). I am now stuck with using CDMA Workshop. I downloaded the demo version and am not sure if this is the reason i am getting stuck. I have chosen COM 3(shows in the properties of the Samsung Modem) and can connect to it successfully but when i attempt to Read Device in DM mode it gives me the "Failed...Device does not answer." I have tried choosing the different options above and connecting but to no avail. I am hoping you may have some advice for me. I appreciate all your hard work and will continue to work on this until I get this Note 2 working with Data.

mms help?

Question about custom rom and Page Plus

Hi guys, I posted on the Dinc forum in the past(I used to own one but sold it to my father and got a NS4G). He may get the Dinc on Page Plus, I would like to know if running ICS on it(or another custom rom) will prevent him from getting/flashing his phone on Page Plus?
Page Plus
I use page plus on my rooted Incredible with no problems.
Ditto, no problem using Pageplus with custom ROM.
DInc with CyanogenMod 7.1
Droid Incredible using Condemned CyanogenMod on Page Plus here. No problems to report.
So you guys got service on them while running a custom rom?

Hey, I flashed my verizon samsung note 2 to pageplus but I couldn't get my mms and data working without a sim card. And when I put my sim card, it auto dials the sim activation and there is a message 'please wait until your phone has been activated'. It keeps doing that for a long time and keeps auto dialing the activation. Is there anyway to bypass this activation and get my data work or is there anyway to simply get the data on pageplus without using the sim card? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you..
Undo the pageplus flash
Hi there, I flashed a verizon samsung galaxy s4 to pageplus and now I want to be back to normal carrier verizon. I did the hard reset and activated my verizon sim card. But, the call and text doesn't work, only the 3G data works. The IMEI number on the phone is different from the back of the battery. Any help how to solve this?

Sorry, but try in your device's forum. This is for the HTC Incredible.
I have my incredible on straight talk works great and running pacman20.1 wish video worked better
I have had two Droid Incredibles on Pageplus - both running custom ROMS. No problems encountered with either.
Good luck.

Woops, sorry...just noticed that the OP was very old...
People on ebay are offering to flash the Incredible to Page Plus for a fee. This is a ripp off. The Incredible unlike 4G phones can be moved to Page Plus without any flashing. Mine works fine and I've used many different ROMs.

I'm also interested in the method. I'm assuming the same method to Boost will also work to move the Sprint Galaxy SIII to a Sprint legacy plan like SERO. What I've found out so far:
1) QPST v2.7 Build 366 doesn't work on the Sprint GS3 except to add the diag comm port so that QXDM can see the port. You will not be able to use QPST to manipulate Profile 0 and Profile 1 to enable 3G.
2) QXDM v3.11.36 can be used for the repair. This will get you voice, SMS, 1xRTT data working.
3) To fix Profile 0 and Profile 1 to enable 3G, CDMA Tools DFS v4.0.0.3 looks to be very promising. Don't know what fields to fill out though.
I've seen ads in craigslist selling flashing services for the Galaxy S3 for use w/ Boost, so someone has already figured this out. Hopefully it won't be long before someone documents all the steps.
My Friend already flashes hes Sprint Galaxy S3 to Boostmobile with 3G data and mms working....
Nice I'm thinking about getting a s3 from best buy and paying full price and getting a warranty and flash to boost

I got a hold of QPST 2.7 build 378. This version is able to read more info from the Galaxy S3 than build 366. I'm able to launch EFS Explorer and see most (if not all) the NV Items. I'm not able to use Service Programming however. As soon as I enter the MSL, I get an error message saying "Roaming list receive failed". It looks like the latest build is 385. I'm wondering perhaps this build will be able to fully read/write the GS3. If anyone has a link to QPST 2.7 build 385, please share.

I used qxdm 3.12.714, which connected fine. I tried QPST.2.7.374 and was not able to connect to phone. "PRL error". CDWS connects but some features don't work, but its enough to get the phone programmed and 3g.

In DFS the fields to fill out for Profile 0 and Profile 1 are under Programming >>>Mobile. IP
Yes, I figured that before posting. It however is still operating at 1xRTT. So there must be something else I'm missing that needs to be changed in DFS.

Do anybody that has the Samsung Epic 4G Touch flashed to Virgin Mobile usa CDMA? So basically I see videos on youtube of the Epic 4G Touch flashed to Boost Mobile. Dial any number, error 16 will go on.
Wait on the phone, it will transfer you to customer care.
Answer some questions and they will refresh your account on their end.
Done
I tried calling a number then I got error 16 and waited.a machine aswered and says to call the number provided by your service provider. Also, when you say to answer a few questions, are they gong to ask me anything about the sprint account? As I said before I don't have any info on the account, not even the phone number.

[Q] Sprint Galaxy S3 on MetroPCS ISSUE for the TOP DEVS PLEASE HELP.

I'm having issues when it comes to the ##DATA# manual programming. I completely flashed my SPH-L710 (Sprint) to MetroPCS with Talk, Text, Data & for the most part MMS working just fine. EVERY SINGLE TIME I do the ##DATA#, within less than 20 seconds my signal drops to nothing, then resets the signal. After I set up everything in the ##DATA# part I reset the phone its gone by the time my phones powered back on when I check the data profile by doing the ##DATA# part and just VIEW, not EDIT everything is gone from when I programmed my Data Profile, EVDO, Advanced, Others etc.
I'm attaching pics in order so you know what Im talking about. The first person to give me a solution I will "donate" $50 to them..
I believe you might have to use (PC) Qpst or CDMA workshop to get it to stick.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2

Sprint Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900 (how do I reinstall Sprint PRLs&get rid of Page Plus)

Sprint Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900 (how do I reinstall Sprint PRLs&get rid of Page Plus)
I bought a Sprint Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900 not too long ago on Craigslist. Guy told me it worked with Sprint but he apparently flashed it to something that used Verizon PRLs (from what i've been told probably Page Plus). I recently tried to use Ringplus/Sprint with this phone but couldn't use it due to the PRL problem. When I try to make a call a robo Verizon operator pops up and I can't make calls. Of course, I can't get in contact with the guy that sold me the phone so im hoping you guys can help me get it to work with Sprint.
The MSL number has been changed to all zeros. And the dial code ##72786# shows "SCRTN" at the very top then just restarts my phone.
So I rooted the phone using this simple process. [SPH-L900] CF-Auto-Root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956180
Then I downloaded SuperSU. Then tried DFS to change my MSL number back to the original number. But it didn't work. I tried PRL Helper, but that too did not work. Won't let me reset the PRL. So I unrooted my phone (or so I thought) and reset the phone to factory to see if that would work, and it did not. So I reinstalled the CF-Auto-Root and now even SuperSU won't work. Im new to all this rooting stuff. THIS IS FRUSTRATING!
My phone is running stock rom. Android version 4.4.2 Baseband version L900VPUCOH3. Build number KOT49H.L900VPUCOH3.
PLEASE HELP!
I'm not sure of all the prl changes and how all that works. That said I would use odin to revert to a stock unrooted ROM and try to reactivate sprint via settings prl updates ect.

Sorry for the late response and thanks for the reply but I was trying to go to RingPlus not PagePlus.
Problem Solved!
Forgot to update. I fixed this problem.
How I FIXED Ringplus PRL problem (flashing to stock rom may or may not be necessary)
I fixed the problem by rooting my Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900 with odin here.
[SPH-L900] CF-Auto-Root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1956180
The reverted to 4.2 Kit Kat stock rom using "ALL_SPT_L900VPUCNE2_L900SPTCNE2_1561791_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5" file.
https://www.kingoapp.com/root-tutorials/how-to-flash-samsung-stock-rom-via-odin.htm
Then I downloaded the "25xxx = residential acct - lte/800smr" PRL files from
http://*******************eestat.ir/?index=forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880781 (Add '?http://?xda-d?evelopers.freestat' to the beginning of link without the '?' marks.)
and extracting the "25XXX_LEG" folder then using the "25016.prl" file to desktop then using CDMA Workshop 2.7 to change the prl to the 25016 prl file.
Then I used trial version of DFS 16.2.21.0 to change my HEX and DEC and esn numbers to match what was on originally on the phone (I found this out through either Ringplus or going into phone dial code). It was a little difficult to change them because DFS kept saying it was skipping the request but after a little while even though it said it didn't change anything it did change it back to the original. That allowed my phone to be read by Ringplus and I was able to get the phone activated and PRLs updated automatically.
