Swiftkey vs Swype - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

As the title goes, which one do you guys prefer? After playing with swift today, I went back to Swype. I like it better. I am think that even the stock keyboard is nice, but the multitude Swype gestures available on Swype really make it powerful. Keep in mind that I use the Swype/flow functions in these, I almost never tap.

I was using SwiftKey on my Nexus and actually bought the app well quite frankly I enjoy it more than the stock keyboard.
Also, SwiftKey has a function called 'Float' which is essentially Swype. I still don't use it, but then just love the feel of SwiftKey. Not sure if this feature is available with the free version.

I tend to use SwiftKey on my Nexus 7 but I'm sticking with Swype on the phone. I've been using the Swype beta since the Vibrant and it's a bit difficult to get used to different swipe gestures.

SwiftKey Flow (now part of SwiftKey itself) is by far better keyboard than swype, than stock, than anyone. Period. The only one that maybe looks promising is fleksy, and I didn't tried yet, so by now, sk has the best word prediction, imho.

I wanna try the flow thing but I bought my swiftkey from Amazon a while ago and it's still on version 1.1.19. Anyone know if I can upgrade?

I'm back on Swype. I was using Swift key flow beta until it expired yesterday. I got a notification that said swift key corrected 175 of my typos. Actually, the typos were due to swiftkey's poor predictive text I would slowly drag my thumb over N...O...T and the word "not" would be in the predictive box, but as soon as I went to E (for Note), it would change and input the word "busy" .. delete...pound out letter by letter

I've had a couple of upgrades to my Amazon-bought SwiftKey, this week. Flow is now included.

Flow is pretty awesome Better than swype IMHO.

There's a reason I've used SwiftKey since the alpha. It was the best then and it's only gotten better over time, but I don't really care for the flow/swype stuff, it's not that accurate to me. But I did just use it to type this so it's not too bad on SwiftKey
noted for future reference on my Note 2

I've been using the paid version of SwiftKey for a couple years on my epic 4g, also tested the flow beta on my note 2 when I migrated over. On the Note I prefer Swype, I feel it's more intuitive, and its accuracy is better hence it's faster. I tried the recent SwiftKey update on the paid version that now includes flow, but I still feel it's not as fluid or accurate as Swype. I get 3 times the amount of errors with SwiftKey that SwiftKey creates that I don't get with Swype. I could care less about which one looks better. I prefer functionality over looks.

I like the numbers on top, without holding the keys, and hand writing compatibilities with S Pen on the Samsung keyboard. I love the arrow keys and ten keyboard on the SwiftKey.
When it comes between Swype keyboard and SwiftKey keyboard I would choose SwiftKey. SwiftKey is better in choosing the right words and has more features than Swype.
The only thing I would like to see in SwiftKey keyboard is numbers on top, without holding the keys, and hand writing compatibilities with S Pen. Then SwiftKey would be the most perfect keyboard.

Kii keyboard has the swype like functions, plus the top number keys and a great user dictionary. At the end of the day, it's my daily driver. Ymmv.

I like the stock Samsung keyboard. It has the swype feature.. Why download another app that does essentially the same thing?

This.
Tried BetterKB, Gingerbread, Swype, SlideIt, Ultra, but SmartKeyb pro is easily the best for me.
Personally HTC IME Mod is the best fit for me, nice big buttons, and plenty of useful features, like moving through text with the volume rocker or even much needed spell check for the hardware KB.

Can keyboards be combined? For instance Gingerbread with Swype
Shapewriter. It's like Swype, done right. I find Swype to be way too inaccurate, and I dislike the popup. Shapewriter is more accurate and has a bar of word suggestions above the keyboard rather than a popup.
It was pulled from the market when Nuance bought out the developer, but you can still find it fairly easily (as in, linked in the forums at www.shapewriter.com).
It is always one of my first installs, along with Handcent and Androzip.

Nice intro and review.
I used touch pal for a bit over a week. I love how it handles regular typing, the key popups are nice, and the number and punctuation swiping is terrific. On the other hand I think Swype handles correction better, and the auto spacing is kind of wonky sometimes. This leaves me wishing for a hybrid between the two keyboards. Get to work Swype devs!

Yeah it is nice I am using it now I think it is more accurate than a Swype needs to themed though I like the look of Swype better but I like more of the functionality of TouchPal
This keyboard is nice but like above I wish it could be themed. Also, wish you could get rid of the configuration buttons on the top part of the keyboard.
I just tried this keyboard but its not multi touch like the ice cream sandwich which makes it slow when you're typing with two fingers and has a subtle lag that you can feel.
You can press up to 4 letters at a time with the ice cream sandwich keyboard.
Good find never the less as its a good keyboard.

I have never been a fan of Swype...I don't like its accuracy, look, or use. I have been a huge fan of Shapewriter and I believe that is the best swype keyboard out there. I am currently on TouchPal and I really like. It comes in second in my book next to shapewriter. I like the caps options for both shapewriter and touchpal, although there is one extra step on touchpal. I REALLY like the swipe up and swipe down method for numbers and punctuation marks...I really like it... sure that further developments will make it even better!
I will cheek out this keyboard thanks (=

I've been using my E4GT for about 1 month now, and I gotta say my text/email/sms life just became so much easier with this app. Good looking out and hope you win the prize for posting the youtube vid.
I installed this keyboard to use it (duh) then I got this
"This input method from TouchPal Keyboard application may collect all the text you type, including passwords, credit card numbers and other personal data"
Should I be paranoid? HAHA
It says that any time you install a new input app.

Yep, same goes for installing the newest Swype beta (much better than stock, imho).

What keyboard are you currently using?

Topic. Just curious.
Apple just give up the IPHONE sucks deal with it.
I keep switching between Swiftkey and AOSP keyboard. Swiftkey is nice but sometimes it finishes a word before I want it to and it adds something "working ng". It's somewhat annoying and the fact that you have to select exactly behind the entire word, otherwise it'll fix the word from everyone before the pointer. (for example, when I'm typing and I notice I spelt "tpying" wrong, I'll select the word by tapping and let's say I tap right behind the y, well, the prediction fix will say "typing" so I press that and it makes it into "typing ing", which is definitely not what I wanted.)
I like the simplicity of the AOSP keyboard although it's predictions aren't as smart as Swiftkey.
I'm still using the ics keyboard the response time is so much smoother than what I get from other keyboards plus voice recognition for texting so much better and faster. I tried swpye but it's get annoying after a while plus the default one with jellybean has no voice input feature I had to download the latest swype beta which is not all that great either. So I'm sticking with the ics keyboard for now.

I really don't like keyboards that cant use finger dragging for input. I like swype but have been using the Android 4.2 keyboard for the past few days. I like the 4.2 with the swyping function but still have to play with it a bit before it's a keeper. It has some things I don't like as far as a few common things on the second keyboard screen. A comma is one of them. I might be able to change this but have not tried at all....wait...the comma is also there if I hold down the period key.

I know Swiftkey has a pinkish type theme, but my fav pink color is bubble gum or hot pink. If Swiftkey ever gets a pink color theme like those I'd definitely switch back to it cuz that is one awesome keyboard. The auto-correction/predictions is out of this world fabulous!

Ummm I don't think so. For starters BB10 offers more predictions. Second, the key sizes are all different. Third, there's no swipe up to select predictions in SwiftKey.
They're similar because they're just soft keyboards but they do have features that set each other apart.
