I personally like a streamlined look. I've only been using the 1Weather app tabbed widget, and even then it's only once in a while. See below:

I'm currently using Carbon Rom v1.3, with an LCD density of 241. I had to install the modified gapps to work nicely with the lower DPI.

Damn! I miss that from my old HTC EVO 3D. It would amaze everyone when it was foggy out and fog would go on my homescreen, or when it was raining and it'd be raining on my homescreen. I loved that neat feature and miss it lol.

No, dark colors actually use less battery. And I think that on the s-amoled screen true black basically means that part of the screen is using no power at all.

I only tried agile lock free version but I had the problem of other apps being able to be activated even when the screen was locked. Wave Launcher is the one I had problems with. You slide your finger up from the bottom, and a wave of shortcuts pops up, it's very nice to access apps/sites from within a fullscreen app without backing out.

ahhh gotcha, makes sense now. i was using it in conjunction with the stock lockscreen. all is well now thanks a ton for the setup!
anyone know how to get lock screen EXACTLY like this...
i have the unlock slider at the bottom, but i cant figure out:
- what is the app (widget) for the clock [that EXACT clock]
- what app/widget is used for the time/weather/battery (i believe it is all in the same widget, and not separate ones)
- how to get the phone icon, messaging icon, and the mail icon
is anyone knows, please do tell any parts and bits that you can

Clock is maybe one of the clocks in the Analog Clock Collection app? Though I don't recall seeing a blue-handed one there. Other possibilities: Animated Analog Clock with add-on skins, or Custom Clock.
Time/weather/battery is SimiClock.
Icons.. hard to say. They look pretty generic.

(Q) Alternative to Pure Calendar Widget?

Hi,
What widget do you use to display calendar entries, tasks, etc.?
One of most popular is Pure Calendar Widget, but it is very ugly ...
The wodget itself is very powerful.
If it has ICS theme, beautiful skin, that would be perfect. Checked its skinning system and bit confusing, no wonder there are not a lot skins available. All sucks, old style rounded corner box with no padding!
I have been using Android Pro Widget. I use it over Pure Calendar widget.
Yeah Android Pro Widgets are great.
Jorte is a great calendar app that really nice looking widgets.
Pure calendar is very powerful and provides some rather optimized view of calendars...
If there would be a way to make the widget use more of the available screen real estate it would be great.
Also, resizable Widgets instead of many different size ones would be very convenient.
APW is very good...also try Wizz ...i use pieces of each and alternate...
Android Pro Widgets here.
Pure GRID Calendar. You can set it to show your events and description words from within the calendar days, so you can see your tasks for the whole month in the calendar view right on your home screen
does anyone know of any calendar widgets that are 4x5? i used to always use pure grid calendar and pure calendar but it bothers me that they dont fill the screen anymore
Android Pro Widgets. It's free and has Twitter, Facebook, People, Calendar, etc.
I bought the Premium License because the themes are really cool... plus I wanted to show my support. Basically they are Launcher Pro Widgets without the Launcher Pro. APW finally freed me to use other Alternative Launchers.
Very handy.

Same as the stock Launcher but greatly enhanced, includes the ability to resize widgets (so they can fill the screen).

It may not be exactly what you are looking for but I have been using Smooth Calendar for a long time and love it. It was just updated for ICS yesterday and is now working fine.
Whats wrong with the default calendar widget?
The one from 4.0.3 now shows all day events.
get the Honeycomb theme for Pure Calendar, its the best looking one. I was about to ditch Pure till I find that theme.

Still have to make a couple tweaks to it

The Sense clock is the only thing that I genuinely miss about HTCSense. The new one looks amazing too and I really want it...I think BW is the closest you can get though unfortunately!

well with BW that is my limit right now. So download the attachment and unrar. Then put it into data/beautifulwidgets/Zenith to replace the content of the existing Zenith folder and you are done.
If it doesnt change on your homescreen go to superclock skin and tap zenith and apply it again^^

Awesome customization.
How did you get that far? Is there any kind of guide I can read to begin skinning?
I'd want a clock widget with just the clock, with the ICS font, which I find perfectly elegant.
I downloaded the beautiful widgets app, but every clock displays the date, too, which I don't need. Just the clock, like the one in the lockscreen.

Well its mostly experience. To achieve what you want I would recommend using advanced clock or minimalistic text and the roboto font
Thank you, I will give it a try
Well actually I'm trying right now, I picked one of the skins with the ics font, and tried to make a new one, but the date won't disappear.
What do you mean "advanced clock" or "minimalistic text"? Are these skins that I have to modify, or different widgets?

Favorite Weather App and Widget For Your Galaxy Nexus

The one thing I miss on Android is a weather app and widget that works reliably. What do you use?
I use the beautiful widget home weather clock

Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for a Sense like app that is more clock than weather, Fancy Widgets or Beautiful widgets are both good. I personally prefer Fancy Widgets.
1Weather is a very nice weather app. It's got a widget that is very nice, but not a clock. I like this app a lot better than the sense type apps because it actually has some decent information in it.

i know people will question why... but I use weatherbug. I like it when my weather app provides a text summary for the current and forecasted weather.
Appearance wise, I like Fancy Widgets.
Accuracy wise I like Palmary Pro; I can select a weather server that I know I trust and that is updated frequently enough.
Which one do I use? Fancy Widgets since I'm a poseur.

Why would someone question it? If it is what you like.... What are they going to say, "No, you don't like that"? People will always flame but who cares.
I use beautiful Widgets for the week forecast, but I also like the weather info in AOKP.
I have used and like the Widgets for Weather bug, 1Weather, and of course Beautiful Widgets.

1weather because its attractive and has an innovative layout. Doesn't look like every other weather app. 2x2 widget is nice, I hardly ever open the app. The only thing I wish is that the background color could be changed. The brown is a bit weird...
I use SiMi Clock and it's weather. I don't like the huge sun on the Sense weather clones. I use the SiMi weather icon as a launcher and use 1Weather for detailed information.
Aix Weather Widget and The Weather Channel (mainly because it has weather maps).
1weather. Most elegant I've ever seen.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I use HD Widgets, bought it when it was part of the Google 10c sale a while back.
I do like the sense-clone weather widgets and this one offers some really nice customisation options. I have it setup with a more flat background so it matches in nicely with the Simi Calendar widget.
just tried android weather and I must admit that it's veeery nice..
As for accuracy.....
I tested several apps, and WeatherBug Elite clearly had the most accurate forecasts for me.
I also like Minimalistic Text but it's woefully short on features. I cannot seem to get rid of the damn location.
I would love a simple 3 day option in place of the city.
I also see what you guys mean about 1weather. I do like that it puts it into the notification shade though. That's very cool. Pretty much useless temp number in the corner. The font is way to small but that feature is nice as well.
Simple Weather Alert is neat in a old school kind of way.
