Samsung Wallet - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Samsung Wallet, Samsung's version of Apple's Passport, looks really promising. I wonder if we'll somehow get it.
From Android Central:
Samsung has announced a new API for developers to help manage event tickets, boarding passes, memberships, and coupons. Samsung Wallet will be a new application which brings all of these types of content into one place. Time and location-based push notifications will help users get a hold of the ticketing information.*
If this sounds familiar, that's because iOS has had this thing called Passbook for awhile which does (and looks like) the same thing. Still, I have a feeling Android will have a leg-up on mobile ticketing since there's still no natively NFC-enabled iPhone out there.*

Agree somewhat.
But I'd mention that Samsung just partnered with Visa PayWave. When Apple partnered with Visa, they were able to do a workaround:
"Apparently, Visa has found a workaround for the lack of NFC phones by embedding the computer chip needed into specially designed iPhone cases instead."
I could see them offering it to Samsung for devices like ours too... maybe?

Good thing the GSM S2 has NFC muahaha

We won't see NFC other than SD cards like what Moneto was making.
I highly doubt any manufacturer will make a case that has NFC for the E4GT this late in the game.

Screw Hollywood anyways, they use our money to try to ruin our collective internet, at this point no one should be giving them any money, it's self defeating. I won't post anything, in the past i was advised not to post petition links, but if you feel like searching for CISPA and speaking your mind it would help everyone out that uses the internet.
Oh and yeah we don't have NFC, so who cares, my main point aside.

Read my blog man, easy to find online.
thanks for the info and pricing on your blog.
I've always wanted a physical keyboard for those quick (but long) emails I find myself sending when I'm away from my laptop.
Might have to take a look at this little guy, thanks for the info!
Glad you guys like the idea. After a couple weeks of use, no complains besides the fact that S2 doesn't really have ALL of its shortcuts corresponding to the available ones.
Thanks for this recommendation. Purchased!
I find that such small keyboards are easy to carry around (obviously!), but too easy to get multiple button presses registered. :/

Day one with my S3

I've never loved a device so much. I think...I think i'm in love. From the gorgeous screen, to the amazing NFC...to the fact that google just randomly gave me 10$...to the ease of use of the toolkit in the dev section, the simplicity of rooting...the BUTTER smooth interface...its just...its just...ITS JUST TOO MUCH!
cool story bro.

You need a pic with that comment.
did you have to add a prepaid card to get the $10 or just activating activating google wallet?
Yeah, I loved it when google gave me $10 free for google wallet. I got like 6 sodas from a paypass enabled vending machine after that lol.

I'm coming from the Evo 3d. The S2 came out a little while after the 3d did so i was already stuck. I wasn't disappointed because i loved my 3vo. It was a great phone. Dual core and all. The screen on this new phone is just insane though. Watching 1080p movies and the way the colors just pop is unlike any mobile screen i've seen. I love the NFC too and how you can link nfc stickers to tasker profiles. i know you could do this with the s2 as well but its new to me. Theres just a bunch of little things ya know?

Europe and NFC

Guys,anyone using NFC around europe?
What are the services accepting our GNEX?
I hope to start a useful collection thread.
Well, at least in Germany and as far as I know there are no payment services available.

I think you can use NFC to get Train Tickets. At least i always see these "put-your-phone-here-to-get-tickets-thingys" at the Stations.
Never used it though.
Did anybody have a look at McDonald's?
I think I saw some wireless counters...
But maybe I'm hallucinating

QR-code based. And you need to have an account on bahn.de, with credit card information stored.
(bahn.de (German))
QR is on your phone but to get the Ticket you use NFC

Thats how they look like

Didn't knew that. I'll definitely have to try that sometime.
You have to have an account though and ad your adress and paying method and all that. I always pay cash for tickets so i don't use it.
Basically you have to use the touchpoint on the trainstation where you start and finish and it generates the prize i guess. Ticket Inspectors scan the QR code on your phone to check the ticket.
Problem is when your battery runs out you are out of luck.

puregear utilitarian case/holster question?

according to this case...I was wondering if you can reverse the phone...so the case faces inwards...for example if you were to wear it on the hip and would rather have the screen being protected by facing in...

FWIW, I emailed one of the retailers of those, basically, he said, it would probably hold it "face in", but it wouldn't be securely clipped.
thanks dude for the speedy reply...

There are also some youtube videos where they show it being tried both ways. I can't remember if it was for the SG3 but definitely the same case.

Hi Everyone,
Although we didn't necessarily design the Utilitarian for face-in capability (other models such as the original Smartphone Support System offer face-in), the clip is reversible on some of the more square phone designs such as the iPhone 4 & 5. It does depend on the type of belt you are clipping it to as well. We encourage you to stop by our store or one of our retailers and give it a try to make sure you are comfortable wearing it this way. It really depends on the customer.
Thanks for the question!

I really don't know if it depends on the type of belt you're clipping it to...it shouldn't matter...it matters if the clip can do that with our specific phone...that's such a generic answer...but I guess ima have to buy one and jus find out...oh well

New VIRTUAL KEYBOARD on a keychain?

This could be cool.
Keychain fob projects full sized virtual keyboard onto flat surface and connects to your mobile device via Bluetooth. If this actually works could be very cool.

Reviewer makes a good point about not getting it unless you'll actually use it.
It's neat. I think it's based off on the same idea (or created by the same guy) as the one from the guy who came up with Sixth Sense. Amazing guy, he also has an input based on lasers/light reflection to turn any screen into a "touch screen" interface.
Work with note 10.1 (gt-n8010)
Check Expensys, note 10.1 accessories section
Try on on my mates note 10.1 and it works, BUT, need flat surface and recognition make some fails sometimes
