[Guide] Samsung Captivate Glide (Rogers) has no unlock attempts left - Samsung Captivate Glide

Please note that this guide was written with information from the below threads, with the intention of making it easier for people to find the necessary information, and unlock their devices. So if you follow this guide, be sure to go and thank their posts:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378082
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595756
Why follow this guide?
If your device is locked and you have no unlock attempts left, along with the message 'Network unlock PIN number is entered incorrectly. Contact your Service Provider', then this guide will unlock your device. You can also use this method, if you are too stingy to purchase an unlock / defreeze code for your device.
What to consider before following this guide.
This unlock method basically removes the IMEI number from your device. I have however followed this procedure on 10+ devices without any issues, just be sure to follow the part of the guide where you backup the files.
DISCLAIMER: Proceed with the below instructions at your own risk, I take no responsibility for bricked devices etc.
Prerequisites
1. Download and install Odin3 v1.85
2. Download Samsung USB drivers from here or install Samsung Kies, to install them.
Step 1 - Flashing Rooted Rogers ROM
1. Download the Rooted Rogers ROM (You may need to use Google Translate)
2. Unzip the .tar.bz2 file, you will be using the .tar file inside
3. Put your device into download mode (Turn it off, hold down VOLUME UP + POWER until a warning screen comes up, press VOLUME UP to continue), connect it to your computer
4. Open Odin, click on PDA, navigate to the .tar file (SGH-I927RUXKJ5_STOCK_ROOTED.tar), do not touch anything else, click Start. If the ID:COM field is not yellow, you have a driver issue.
5. Wait until your device finishes flashing and reboots. You will need to download Superuser from the Play Store. If the Superuser app won't open, factory reset the device, then install it again.
Step 2 - Unlocking the Device
1. Download ES File Explorer from the Play Store
2. Go to 'Settings > File Settings', tick 'Show Hidden Files'
3. Go to 'Settings > Root settings', tick 'Root Explorer', click yes on the warning screen, allow the Superuser request
4. Click on 'Home Directory' in the Settings menu and change it to '/'
5. Navigate to /efs/ in the file manager
6. Move the below files to a backup folder on your device (e.g. /mnt/sdcard/BACKUP)
.nv_core.bak
.nv_core.bak.md5
.nv_data.bak
.nv_data.bak.md5
nv_data.bin
7. It would be a smart idea to copy the backup folder somewhere safe on your computer, so that it is not lost when you factory reset the device etc.
8. Reboot your device, it will now be unlocked, though will have a generic IMEI number. This hasn't been an issue for me, with the device connecting to Australian mobile networks. You should now have an unlocked device!
Please click the 'Thanks' button if this thread helped you, and also be sure to thank the posters of the two threads at the top.

This guide has been tested on two HTC T328W dual-sim phones bought from China. It has also been tested with the following Build numbers and baseband versions and both worked perfectly.
Dear mods: I know this is not the correct thread for this phone. Please create a new subforum for this great phone and move all T328W threads into it. They are all over the place (from One V to Desire, etc.). Thanks.

The zip file containing all needed files can be found at mediafire . c o m / ?783kthx72x3uf5d .
I could not attach the zip file (I get a page not found) and am not allowed to post outside links yet.
Bootloader unlocking
1. Let’s change the language to English first so we understand the phone better. Open the apps menu and go to the Settings icon (the cogwheel icon). Scroll down to the setting with the “A” icon. Click the first item in the list and choose English.
2. Go to htcdev . c o m, create an account and click the Unlock bootloader icon. After logging in, choose “All Other Supported Models” from the list and click the Begin Unlock Boatloader button. Accept that you may lose any guarantee and continue to follow the instructions.
3. To enter bootloader mode, make sure the phone is off (or remove the battery for a few seconds). Then hold Volume Down and start pressing the Power button – without any USB cable. Use the up and down buttons to select “Fastboot” and select it using the Power button. Now connect your USB cable and continue following the HTC instructions.
4. All the files you need are in the zip you can get above. I also installed the HTC Sync program which installs the drivers. Using the command prompt you can simply navigate to the extracted files and run the fastboot command. (Use the command “cd C:/myextractedzip” to change to a directory).
5. Save the Unlock_Code.bin attachment which you get from HTC by Email into the same extracted zip folder and run the next command. You now have an unlocked bootloader and the phone will start up and an HTC wizard will appear where you can choose the English language again.
Flashing clockworkmod
1. Remove any USB cables and boot again into the bootloader mode. Click Fastboot and reconnect your USB cable. Now run the following command on your computer: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img . This flashes the clockworkmod recovery image onto the phone.
2. Switch off your phone. Make sure your USB cable is removed.
3. Now copy the “app” folder from the zip onto a micro-sd card. Also copy the “CWM-SuperSU-v0.92.zip” and “rootexplorer_2.16.apk” onto the micro-sd card.
4. Insert the micro-sd card into the phone and boot into boatloader mode again.
5. Now choose the recovery option instead of fastboot and wait for clockworkmod recovery to appear.
Rooting the phone
1. In clockworkmod recovery, choose install zip from sdcard
2. Choose “choose zip from sdcard” and choose “CWM-SuperSU…zip”
3. Scroll down to “Yes – Install CWM-SuperSu” and wait. Now go back and reboot the phone normally.
Installing Google Apps
1. Using the included file manager on the phone, click on “rootexplorer.apk” and install it. When launching root explorer, make sure you grant it superuser permissions.
2. Go click the “sdcard” folder and press and hold the “app” folder that you copied from the zip file. Click “copy” and then navigate to /system . Press “Mount R/W”. And then click “Paste”. Choose Yes to overwrite. Exit root explorer.
3. Now we need to fix the permissions. The easiest way is if you enable USB Debugging mode from the “Developer Options” settings. Make sure you connect your USB cable.
4. Open a command prompt to our extracted zip folder and type “adb shell”. Press enter and you should see “[email protected]:/ $”. Run “su”. Run “cd /system/app”.
5. Now to fix all permissions, run “chmod 644 *.apk” and then run “chown root.root *.apk” .
6. Now run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
Removing bloatware apps
1. Thanks to dark_hawk from xda-developers, we have a list of system apps/bloatware that are save to remove. You can easily do this from the root explorer app. Go to /system/app and hold each item you want to delete. Then click delete. You can also remove each app’s odex file.
The list:

wefound.apk
2. Then run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
3. After the reboot you might still find some Chinese language apps. These can be removed with an app from the Play Store such as Root Uninstaller.

If you have any problems, please post below and I will answer and/or update this post.
followed your guide and managed to install the google apps, including Play Market.
Big thanks!
By the way, did you try to install a newer version of android/ ROM?
Hi
Thanks for the instructions. I have installed the update successfully.
Although installing the market initially failed. Before that the phone booted.
After applying the google aps bit the phone didn't startup again it hang at the 'HTC quitly brilliant' screen.
Although after first reinstalling the RUU and after that doing this procedure again it worked. I'm new to Android I can follow instructions although I'm clouless of what I'am actually doing.
I have a few problems though:
1.
After installing however I have a problem that google play now sais that I can't install runkeeper because my phone isn't compatible.
I was able to install this program before on this phone. Anyone a clue on that?
2.
Also I have a problem that if I wan't to apply a system update of android from the about screen it will error with "assert failed: getprop("ro:cid") == "00000000"
Anyone a sollution for that specific for this phone?
3.
Also I have a problem with this phone that my 3G internet is working strangly. I hoped to solve this with installing a newer version.
Some applications are always working like play store, facebook, friendcaster. Youtube app works ok when browsing videos, although can't play.
Whatsapp only seems to work a few minutes after the 3G connection is set up. And internet browsing doesn't work at all. I tried opera and firefox.
With WIFI all is good and then it is a wonderfull phone.
I get good download speeds when I install a program from google play.
Although I would love to have a stable whatsapp and browsing capabilities while i'm away from wifi. Anyone familliar with this problem?
I was hoping to adress the internet issue by updating ICS, although like stated this also fails.
Many thanks ina advance for your help!
Hi
following your instruction I just updated 3 pcs of HTC Build number: 1.56.1402.6. All done, all OK. One think that voice search is not working on phone dialpad, I have to remove it and install voice search from the market - now in apps like maps, phone search working fine. Till now I didn't find any else problem
Thanks very much. BR Kris

Hello guy,
I received this morning this phone from Etotalk.
I bought also from them their preinstalled services including multilangiage OS and unlocking and rooting services (I know how to root but 'cause price was so low....).
However I received the phone...but...:
1. Only English & China language installed
2. Wlan & btooth doesn't work
When I switch on the WLAN appears error message. And remains 'Turning WLAN on'. Also Btooth doesn't switch on
So I am asking myself if this is related to the root process or somewhat else or is an hardware problem ??
I want to flash again a new rom but I don't know where to retrive an ICS rom with italian language....
I opened also a dispute in Paypal.......
Is it possible that all is related to a software problem and not an hardware problem ?
Please let me know, if you can....

Mine is from etotalk too and it works fine!
Try to make first reset the phone! Should be working then! I think, it`s only software problem! if it`s rootet, install the recovery from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751788
and make a NAND Backup! Then you can try to flash the newest European ROM!
But in first step, try to reset the complete phone in SETTINGS-Storage scroll down to end here!
My Desire V is from India and worked fine now i have rooted phone thanks
BB version# 1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U
Build # 1.60.720.5 CL69250 release-key
Browser version # Webkit/534.30
@ Petteri
Any hints on how to make NAND backup? Actually I want to make a backup image of existing setup before playing with it, so as if something goes wrong, I can come back to present state. My phone is also from etotalk. So any help on making recovery backup would be appreciated.

The list:
116114.apk
2254_HTCCU_WO3G_SIE.apk
DoubanFM.apk
DreyeCHSPkg40.apk
HTCCN_FileManager.apk
HTC_Widget_Renren.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo_Nearby.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo_Trend.apk
HTC_Widget_Sina_Weibo_Trend.apk
HtcMusicEnhancer_China_Sina.apk
HtcMusic_China_Sina.apk
PhoneMail.apk
QQ2011.apk
Renren_FSplugin.apk
Renren_GLRplugin.apk
SinaMusic.apk
Sina_Weibo_FSPlugin.apk
Sina_Weibo_GLRplugin.apk
SohuNews.apk
VDisk.apk
Weibo.apk
eMoney.apk
mapbar.apk
renren.apk
unicomclient_HTCT328W.apk
vegetable.apk
wefound.apk
2. Then run “reboot” to reboot your phone.
3. After the reboot you might still find some Chinese language apps. These can be removed with an app from the Play Store such as Root Uninstaller.

Hi
because there is new update from HTC available, 1.71.1402.1 I have question, how can I install this patch? because now I can't install on the cracked one.
PS.
on the second device (updated to 1.71.1402.1 before this crack) instruction working aswell
HTC Wind
So I purchased this phone from eBay, it came "unlocked" and I am able to use it in Canada easily. No problems with Google Apps, english, etc.
I don't know if this is a rooted unlock or a hardware carrier unlock.
So, with HTC now telling me there are system updates available, I don't know whether installing them will lock the phone up if it's been rooted. I've written the seller a few times and despite very many positive reviews, I have no answer to this question. So I'm posting here.
I have:
Android 4.0.3
HTC Sense v. 4
Software 1.60.707.5
HTC SDK API level 4.2
HTCEtension_403_1_GA_8
kernel
3.0 16-g320e2d4-dirty

baseband
1.05.34D.29_20.21.30.23U
build number
1.60.707.5 CL69250 release-keys
browser version
WebKit/534.30
Any help here would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

As your baseband matches the build number it would suggest that you have an original Asia version. You should be able to use the OTA update without problems. If when you run the update it says something about "HTC has detected that the software is not original" then you probably have a Chinese model that has Asia firmware on it.
Unable to stay login to HTCDev
I recently got a Desire V and wants to root it.
Not sure if any of you faces this problem..I have registered at HTCDev and followed the instruction to click on the email link to complete registration. However each time when I successfully log in, I am being thrown out and I need to re-login. Sometimes I am able to succesfully log in to the bootloader section and then am able to select the model and go through the legal notification. But after that Im always thrown out.
Is anyone facing this? I have registered for another id and its the same thing.
Need a HUGE favor...is it possible for someone who has registered successfully and unlocked their bootloader to lend me their userid?? Desperately trying to root this phone. Thanks.
Hello, it seems that the link for the files does not work anymore. Would somebody able to share these files ?
Best regards

[GUIDE]: ROOT / BL-Unlock / Install Custom Recovery - LG Optimus G E970/1/3

INTRODUCTION
THIS IS A DETAILED GUIDE TO SHOW YOU HOW TO ROOT, BOOTLOADER-UNLOCK AND INSTALL CUSTOM RECOVERY AND ROMS ON YOUR LG OPTIMUS G E970/1/3 with a Windows PC. I will add to/edit it as necessary, and will probably beautify it a bit soon enough as well.
Disclaimer: This has worked successfully for many people on these devices, including myself on the E971. Having said that, I’m not responsible for any explosions or any other form of destruction you may end up with as a result of using this guide!

The Dropbox files I’ve linked here are from my own account, so rest assured everything is safe. I will be posting mirrors soon (or replacing if necessary).
A full list of “thanks” will be at the end.
PLEASE follow all the instructions carefully. I will try to help as much as I can, but I am in no way a developer. Just a guy who loves messing with stuff, especially these awesome devices. The #lg-optimus-g IRC chanel is always great help along with great folks here.

PRE-GAME CHECKLIST
COMPUTER PREP – Install the following before proceeding any further. If you know for sure you’ve got these taken care of, go ahead to the next section.
1) ADB/FASTBOOT/APX DRIVER - DOWNLOAD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v7duwo5l09dky8n/Universal_Naked_Driver_0.72.zip
- This driver, in part, is needed for your phone to properly communicate with the PC for our needs. That goes for any Android device, so this is definitely a must have. For more details and discussion/help > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=19960512) LG DEVICE DRIVER - DOWNLOAD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dho1z4hdkyezkgp/LGUnitedMobileDriver.zip
- Just like most USB devices, your phone relies on this to communicate with your PC.3) Make sure you have 7Zip, WinRAR, WinZIP or another similar application installed on your computer to be able to extract archives.
- Download 7zip here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
PHONE PREP - you will need the USB cable, and your phone needs to have internet connection for the bootloader unlock section. I recommend having JellyBean installed already, the OTA upgrade method is fine with stock before you use this guide. I haven't tried or had any info on anyone else trying this with stock Ice Cream Sandwich, so I'm not sure about the compatibility there.
MEAT AND POTATOES
-ROOT-
1) Download the root package here > https://www.dropbox.com/s/fib80m6q9jzcj4t/ZV9-ZVB-Universal-Root.zip > and extract it to a folder.
2) Connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable and CHANGE THE CONNECTION TYPE TO “CHARGE ONLY” IN NOTIFICATIONS. This is important for the next step.
3) Open the folder you extracted to and double click the batch file “CurrentRoot” or “CurrentRoot.bat”.
4) The on-screen instructions are pretty clear for this part. To sum it up:
a. You’ll need to wait for the phone to be recognized, then you’ll be asked to change the USB mode to “MTP” - you must do this in order to proceed. Press Enter.
b. You may see some error and “daemon” messages along the way here. Don’t be alarmed by those, focus on the prompts.
c. Once you see “uid=0(root) gid=0(root)” you will be prompted to press Enter again. If you don’t get that, reboot your computer and repeat from step 2.
d. At the end, you should see a message that says you’ve been properly rooted. Press any key to continue, your phone should automatically be rebooted (if not, manually do so).
e. Open your app drawer and run the app called SuperSU and ensure it runs with no errors. *IF YOU DON'T HAVE SuperSU IN YOUR APP DRAWER, DOWNLOAD/INSTALL/RUN IT FROM THE PLAY STORE!*
f. You can download any root-required app from the Play Store (Root Checker is easy if you can’t think of one) to verify that you are properly rooted. Congratulations!
-UNLOCK BOOTLOADER AND INSTALL CUSTOM RECOVERY-
This section is done through an app, right in the Play Store thanks to Project FreeGee (XDA thread for thanks - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001655). If you can, make sure to go there and give thanks to thecubed (and Shellnutt2) for this amazing app and all their efforts. Please get the $1 version if you can as well, it’s beyond worth it.
Head on over to the Play Store and download the app “FreeGee **ROOT Required**” or do it on your PC - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.shell.freegee&hl=en ($1 – if you can this would be the one to go for) OR https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.shell.freegee_free&hl=en (free version). Run the app and grant it root permissions. FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
1) In the app, ignore the main buttons and click Menu > SBL Unlock method.
2) Click “Get Unlock Code” – a browser window will open up. Here will be a hardcore disclaimer by Shelnutt2, and it should be taken seriously since there IS a possibility of something going wrong. The chances are EXTREMELY SLIM, but the disclaimers have to be put in place.
3) Enter your name (username for forums is the best way to go), click the checkbox, enter the CAPTCHA, and click “Submit”.
4) The next page will have your code. Copy it and go back to the FreeGee app.
5) Paste the code into the field and click “ok”. You should get a confirmation message that you’ve enabled the SBL Unlock method.
6) On the app’s main screen, click “Unlock my phone” and wait for the download to finish.
7) You’ll be asked to choose a recovery version. I personally use ClockworkMOD, but many people like TWRP. It shouldn’t make a difference at the end of the day, you can look into both and decide if you’d like. Choose one, and proceed through all the dialogue boxes, accepting everything. Your phone will eventually reboot.
8) To verify this was done properly, after the reboot you can reboot again into recovery mode. The easy way to do this is to download QuickBoot from the Play Store and use that. Otherwise:
a. Power off your phone
b. Press and hold the PWR button, while holding down the VOL-UP/VOL-DOWN buttons at the same time (I’ve seen VOL-UP/PWR as instructions, I haven’t been able to get it to work myself like that but YMMV).
c. You’ll see a black screen with some small writing in the bottom-left corner. Nothing will actually respond on-screen at this point, don’t worry.
d. Press VOL-DOWN twice, then press PWR.
e. Your custom recovery should now boot up. Here, you can backup your current software (DO THAT RIGHT AWAY), reboot the phone into whichever mode you want, and install custom ROMs (more and that after the break).
JOB WELL DONE. NOW WHAT DO YOU DO?
The very first thing I recommend you do is BACKUP YOUR EFS PARTITIONS!! Head over to this thread by autoprime on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161611&highlight=efs - this is important to have in case things go wrong down the road.
Now you have the freedom to do quite a bit, most notably install custom ROMs. It’s important to read through the entire original post of a ROM’s thread. The developer has put everything there for a reason, follow it to the tee! Methods of installation for ROMs may slightly vary. Use the files they link only and don’t stray from their installation instructions.
A loose reference to the most common method is:
a. Wipe data/factory reset
b. Wipe cache
c. Wipe dalvik cache
d. Install ROM file
e. Install GApps file
f. Wipe data/factory reset again (usually good measure regardless)
g. Reboot system

Click on the box that says CWM-6.0.4.7 you should get a message that gives you an option to select an unlock (either Classic or MAKO). MAKO is the replacement for SBL, and it worked just fine for my device.
Ok, help. I recently switched from my Samsung Galaxy 3 to this Optimus G I got. I downloaded all the necessary files, but when i connect the phone to the usb connector. Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) Root & Xposed Framework install Without Voiding Warranty

Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) Root & Xposed Framework install Without Voiding Warranty
- So there are many posts about Rooting the Samsung galaxy s7 where some people will say it trips knox and others say it's to complicated.
- This easy guide includes resources from other XDA developers whom I was able to use to root my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 and install Xposed Framework without voiding my warranty.
-You can try what ever firmware you are on, however there are many reports of issues on the new firmware. when i first did it on the newest firmware i got a boot loop but easy to fix just by re-flashing the firmware with Odin.
- Unfortunately this method will erase all data if you are not currently in PE1 firmware
- You will not Brick your phone with this method, because it is very easy to just reflash the firmware with Odin.
Here is the link to download a RAR with all of the nessecary files!
-->https://mega.nz/#F!Egt23TLa!NrynMKoUvwngnsse2zo6hw<--
-I am not responsible for any damage done to your device through any steps taken tword rooting your Samsung Galaxy S7
-You will loose all your data if not currently on PE1 Firmware
- I am not to credit for all of these procedures, I only figured out how to Enable Tethering which im sure has been figured out by someone else as well.
The RAR file attached has ALL of the files you will need for the whole guide.
-So download and extract all of the files from the RAR
-Or you can follow each link to download the necessary files
1.Preparing:
1. Install Samsung drivers:

- Click finish
- You have successfully installed ADB
2.Flashing PE1 Firmware:
First off this method does require PE1 firmware. So here's how to get your Samsung Galaxy S7 to PE1 firmware:
-You can get the PE1 firmware in the attached RAR file
1. Connect your Samsung to your computer via OEM micro-usb cable.
2. Power down you samsung
3. Once powered down, hold Volume Down, Power, and the Home Button all at the same time
4. You will get a blue screen that says warning, read the text and the press Volume Up to select "Continue"
5. Launch Odin as Administrator
6. In Odin click the button "AP"
7. Select the "AP_G930PVPU2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
8. In Odin now click the button "CP"
9. Select the "CP_G930PVPU2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
10. In Odin now click the button "CSC"
11. Select the "CSC_SPT_G930PSPT2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
12. Then in Odin, press the botton that says "Start". Odin will begin flashing the PE1 firmware.
13. Once Finished, Odin should say "Pass", and your Samsung should then boot up to a first time setup procedure.
3.Before you Begin Rooting:
Once You have finished flashing PE1 firmware you should then download the following apps to your Samsung:
-Package Disabler Pro or EZ Package Disabler (both will do the job)
-Flash Fire
-Build Prop Editor
If you use Snapchat, now is the time to download, install, and login to the app
-Snapchat denies login to rooted andriod users, especially if Xposed Framework is installed.
4.Rooting:
Now that you have the pre-procedure done, go to the link directly below and start at "Here we go" for the rest of the rooting procedure instructions. Necessary files for colormedroid's precedure will also be in the attached RAR file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s7/how-to/sm-g930p-root-t3410604
Once you have finished rooting you may follow the next steps.
5.Installing Xposed Framework, Xposed APK, as well as a tether mod
-Go to the link below and click on the tab that says "CLICK TO HIDE CONTENT" under the header "INSTALL XPOSED"
-Follow psouza4's steps to Installing Xposed
-However I have attached a better APK for xposed.

9. Tap the check box next to the "X Tether" module to activate it
10. Reboot
11. Bear with me here is gets a little more complicated
12. No that Xtether is installed and activated, we are going to edit a data base file to be able to use the native mobile hotspot
13. Download SQLite Editor app from the playstore (it does cost money, and there are probably others that can do it but this worked for me) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.sqleditor&hl=en
14. Open SQLite
15. Tap the tab that says "Files"
16. Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
17. Then tap "telephony.db"
18. Then tap "carriers"
19. Look for the 2 lines that say "APN2 LTE internet" and "APN2 EHRPD internet"
20. Down those lines under "type" they both say "default, mms"
We will be changing it to say this
21. Tap on "default, mms" then tap the pencil in the upper right of SQLite. This will enable you to edit this setting.
22. Scroll down until you see the type "default, mms"
23. edit this to say ""default, mms, dun"
24. Tap save
25. Do this for both "APN2 LTE internet" and "APN2 EHRPD internet"
26. Exit SQLite and restart your phone
You can now enable the hotspot as if it were part of your service plan. If you go into to you settings>Hotspot and Tethering
Happy Tethering

Did you make sure to include the volte icon and cpu governor fixes? Don't use the debloat zip just use the fixes for those on any other build.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 SM-T210 problem

I recently found my old tablet and it had kingoroot installed and then I flashed stock rom to my tablet but now it randomly restarts and every time i try to setup it i got error "Unfortunately, the process com.android.systemui has stopped" and "settings has stopped"
Here is the tutorial I followed:
Code:
The following instructions are for Windows only. Please don't use a virtual machine as these can cause problems communicating with the device. There is an alternative method for Linux or macOS. Just tell me if you aren't on Windows, I can easily change the instructions. Please make sure you have Windows set to display all file extensions. This can really help for debugging purposes.
First we need to download the tool that downloads the stock firmware. It's called SamFirm and it downloads it using Samsung's servers. You can download the latest version [here](http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841&d=1467715462). Please also make sure you have the [Microsoft Visual C++ 2008](https://download.microsoft.com/download/1/1/1/1116b75a-9ec3-481a-a3c8-1777b5381140/vcredist_x86.exe) and [Microsoft Visual C++ 2010](https://download.microsoft.com/download/5/B/C/5BC5DBB3-652D-4DCE-B14A-475AB85EEF6E/vcredist_x86.exe) x86 Redistributable packages installed. Now to download the tool that flashes to the devices different partitions. On most devices you use a tool called fastboot, but Samsung devices aren't like most devices (excluding the Galaxy Nexus). This tool is called Odin, it's Windows only and leaked from Samsung so you need to get it from a trusted source. You can download the latest version [here](https://build.nethunter.com/samsung-tools/Odin_3.12.3.zip). Extract the "Odin_3.12.3.zip" file. You should now have a folder called "Odin_3.12.3". Treat this as your working directory and download all other files to this folder. While you're here, extract the contents of "SamFirm_v0.3.6.zip" into this folder.
Now to download the stock firmware. Open "SamFirm.exe" and make sure "Auto" is checked and "Manual" and "Binary Nature" isn't checked. In "Model" put `SM-T210` and in "Region" put `BTU`. Click "Check Update" and wait for it to find the firmware on the server. Now check "Check CRC32" and "Decrypt automatically". Then click "Download" and save it. Let it finish downloading, checking, and decrypting. Once it finishes you can now close SamFirm. Extract the zip file it gave you. You should now have a single file ending in `.tar.md5` (you may also have `.dll` file, ignore it). This tar.md5 file is your firmware. Do not modify it. If you have more than one .tar.md5 file, tell me.
Now shutdown the device and then hold the Volume Down, Home/Bixby, and Power buttons. This should put the device into download mode. Accept any warnings then plug the device in. Open "Odin.exe" from the "Odin_3.12.3" folder. In the log, it should say `Added!` and have a blue COM thing near the top, meaning it detected your device. If it didn't detect it, then you may need to configure drivers (you can ask me for the drivers if you need them). Click the "Option" tab and make sure "F. Reset Time" and "Auto Reboot" is enabled. Also check the checkbox next to the "AP" button and then click the button. Select the tar.md5 file. Now click "Start" in Odin.
It should now reboot and go to the boot animation. If it doesn't boot in 15 minutes, shutdown the device. Then hold the Volume Up, Home/Bixby, and Power buttons. Then use the keys to select "Factory reset". Please note this will wipe all user data. Once it finishes you can select "Reboot" and now it should boot correctly.
I have been battling with this problem so long I only wanted to root my tablet to have some fun with root required apps
Any help with the problem? I only need to root the device or get it to work with stock rom

[GUIDE] IMEI / Connection Repair on Asus Zenfone 2E ZE500CL Z00D

[GUIDE] IMEI / Connection Repair on Asus Zenfone 2E ZE500CL Z00D
I am writing this guide because I recently recovered a bricked ZE500CL and after flashing around so many different files I lost my IMEI and connection abilities. After a little research and some thought I easily repaired my IMEI and restored my connection abilities. Just follow the steps below. I don't have this phone long and I am still learning so some of these steps might not be needed. Nevertheless it DOES work if you follow it properly.
What you will need:
1) Asus Flash Tool - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1n7tJr7lAlPnL8-nmK8f5kGmDHbRv5gxo
2) Asus Phone Drivers - https://drive.google.com/open?id=11XLRW5pEScYdBYwh0vDM-Wup9orGPWDf
3) Debug Service Firmware - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ISofitM3yhYpu46JD0KWGLXybvtLQyAy
4) Intel Phone Tool - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1dQjjlHjWs8tDrfNU_ikgesKK2uKaTyXt
5) Intel Drivers - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hE9j35VMOD5QGHjDy_aM2vVCs2PVOOm1
6) ADB / Fastboot Tools - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1nbAS8k4JMAXG8YH2qIFHpRjX60TTlYIt
7) IMEI Number - You should have this. If not generate one based off another ZenFone 2E Z00D's IMEI.
8) ZenFone Root Tool - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1NHf516Yex9KfsnufVNz0vkchJWCiMHo2
9) Root File Browser (ES File Explorer, Root Browser etc) - Get from the internet, place on your phone via MTP file transfer or push/install it in adb.
NOTE: If you choose the first way you will have to go into your debugging app in the applications. It will be the one with the magnifying glass and says Asus Log something on it. I no longer have the Service Firmware installed so I can't remember. You will find it though. Once you do go in and find the usb settings and just change modes and you will see the drivers install and device ASUS_Z00D or something similar should appear in device manager under devices. If it fails to load make sure you have the correct ASUS Drivers installed and if that doesn't work the last way is to select the ( ! )Driver and then manually install the USB MTP Device driver which will fix the issue.
10) Factory Folder Backup (This MIGHT not all be needed, still checking to make sure.. for now include it) - https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fvH0QdrzLFM34vsm2KNfQBU5fr8eSM14
First Step:
Download everything above and then install 6,2,5,4 (Install the drivers that come with Intel Tool before installing it. You should be prompted during installation) and then install 1.
Second Step:
Open Asus Flash Tool and make sure your phone is connected to the computer and you are in fastboot mode.
You can get there 2 ways. (1) Turn the phone off, hold Vol+, then push the power button, and when you feel it vibrate release the power button while holding Vol+. (2) Open command prompt and enter "adb reboot bootloader" (this is if you're adb is setup system wide, if not navigate to your SDK Tools folder and enter there).
Flash the Debug Service Firmware you downloaded. Check WIPE to wipe before flashing.
Once you see the phone boot up goto the next step.
Third Step:
Open Intel Phone Tool and follow this guide here to fix your IMEI! -
NOTE: You can skip the setprop commands he enters into adb shell in command prompt. This firmware already has the COM Port opened and USB Debugging enabled for you.
Fourth Step:
Now you will need to root your phone using the Root Tool I linked in the beginning (Do not worry about upgrading the SuperSU Binary.) Next you will need to install a root browser on your phone like ES File Browser, Root Browser etc. Something that allows access to root / hidden files. Navigate to /Factory and /Config and backup these two in their entirety to your MicroSD card or computer. Replace your factory with mine if it is empty and doesn't contain the files in the steps below. Now comes time to edit. Makes these changes to the files. (I am not 100% sure which all DO need to be made so I just modified most all of the values.)
These instructions are thanks to @BORETS24
I have changed them a tad as our handset differs from the one he wrote them for. I am still not entirely sure if everything needs to be copied/modified. Don't have a lot of spare time on this handset to figure out everything. I just know from testing this will get your phone functioning again.
Serial number, WI-MAC, BT-MAC repair instructions
(You will be replacing everything after step 5. Below explains what to edit.)
1. If you have an empty factory partition, use the archive, replace factory folder with archive version to root file system via file manager, ES File Explorer or others (root required and root browsing required of the application). Serial Number, WiFi MAC, BTMAC, colorID you may see on box from phone (or make up something for each value). .. you can generate the WiFi MAC based off these Unassigned? Assignments - 00:90:4C, 00:09:4C or just make one up based off a random Assignment from here - https://regauth.standards.ieee.org/standards-ra-web/pub/view.html#registries. For the Bluetooth - 22:22:AF or something you find on the previous site. You can check easier after you generate here - http://www.coffer.com/mac_find/. For color ID I left mine the same as what is in the factory.zip which is Silver.
2. Then open and edit factory/PhoneInfodisk/bt_addr.conf- this BT MAC, replace 00:00:00:00:00:00 numbers to your MAC.
3 Then open and edit factory/PhoneInfodisk/colorID- color code of your phone. For example silver is 6J.
4. Then open and edit factory/PhoneInfodisk/PhoneInfo_inf- 6F0000000 (yours will be 12 numbers) replace to your serial number, 1C002C... change to you BT-MAC, 00B72... change to your WiFi MAC, 6J change to your color code, RU... change to US,EU,CN,TW,RU (do not think this matters much). I changed mine to US I think.
5. Then open and edit factory/PhoneInfodisk/ssn- enter your serial number replacing 0000000. (12 numbers)
6. Then open and edit factory/wifi/mac.txt- enter your WiFi MAC replacing 00000.
Fifth Step:
Open Asus Flash Tools and flash desired build of RAW firmware over the Debug Service Firmware. I suggest the latest WW firmware which is ver .126. From here you can stay on this firmware after replacing the files below or surf around XDA and find out what customized ROMS are available for this phone. Personally I unlocked my Bootloader, flashed TWRP, flashed .126, flashed Resurrection Remix 5.8.4 ? on Nougat 7.1.1 and then flashed a SU. RR I wouldn't recommend as it is buggy and neither would I of MoKee as it is buggy as well. I am fixing the bugs in RR so it runs fine as I particularly like RR over others since it comes pre installed with a horde of features so you can customize your handset to your hearts desire.
1. Install a root File Browser and root your phone again.
2. Replace /config with your backed up /config.
3. Replace /factory with your backed up /factory.
4. Reboot.
Now check everything in settings and make sure it looks right. All should look A-OK except for serial #. I am still working on that and will edit this once I finish. Layout of our phone is different than the one I took files from. You might have to replace the file again if you flash certain custom ROM's. I flashed RR and didn't have to.
EDIT: After a few reboots I seem to lose my MAC's again and the serial (unknown) is replaced by Medfield1534DD97. Both WiFi and BlueTooth still work though. You just have the random default generated MAC's. I can live with that as long as it works. Though if anyone can shed some light on this issue or anything else I would be extremely grateful.
Enjoy Your Phone!
-------------
For the Asus Zenfone 2E ZE500CL Z00D I will be uploading in the near future somewhere an organized package compiled of all recoveries, roms custom + stock firmware, root, bootload unlockers, tools, apps and guides all together so you can easily download and skip the time consuming research I had to endure. It is around 10GB. I am officially done learning this phone now. It has been a long 3 days and now it is time to ship it out to a buyer. =]
