JB leaked? - Sprint LG Optimus G

Been hearing reports that this could possibly be a leaked version..
Minus a few features..
How long till Sprint ponies up?

How is it leaked? Some people are getting the update directly from LG...

Just caught a post regarding missing JB clock and other features..someone stated a possible leaked, early version
Few articles popping up supporting this theory
Not to mention, folks are having a lot of difficulty installing manually
Just an FYI

What other features are missing? IMO JB clock isn't a big loss anyway, there are plenty of 3rd party imitators of it if you really need it. I haven't updated yet since I'm waiting on flashable zip, but it'd be disappointing if some important features were incomplete or left out. If it's just missing widgets then no big deal.

Rumor has it, LG has announced a leak..Sprint is still in the testing phase
Also reports suggest missing advanced Qslide functions

There is an official OTA out for JB. There is an update for the clock, but it doesnt remove it. We are working on a flashable rom right now.

Any sauce on this being the beginning of an official OTA? Forums are reporting both sides and google isn't giving me anything concrete.

Hold the home button to bring up the recent apps, there is now a blue Google button directly above the home button.
So if you hold home until it vibrates and then quickly drag your thumb up a half inch and release you get Google Now.

Hit the microphone at the top. No sliding required. They made it easier.
Also, the only feature out of all the features I the video we are missing is Qslide. I could be wrong, and if I am I am sure someone will be very quick to point it out.
As for the clock, is that a feature in the other optimus g jelly bean phones?

No, but seriously.
I work for Sprint. If I wanted to lie or exaggerate I would troll everyone and tell you all the update is out. But really, it's not. The real Jelly Bean update is not out. Neither Sprint, nor LG will tell you it is. It is not on any legitimate website, my internal sales portal, or anything else black OPs like.
There was an incomplete leak. Some people are using that through a manual update. They are doing so at their own risk. Period.

It'd be sad but at the same time bitterly humorous if someone secretly threw off a malware infested ROM that's harvesting information from our phones as we speak. In all likelihood it was probably just someone doing us a favor in the higher ups. Or LG just never told Sprint about the update and pushed it out on their own. I'm certainly glad we got it, leak or not.

[REQUEST] Galaxy Nexus Cupcake/Doughnut/Eclair ROM

Hey I know this should be in Development Forum but I'm not allowed to post there yet, was wondering if it would be possible for a Dev to make a ROM to run Cupcake/Doughnut/Eclair on the GNexus?
Obviously not for a daily driver but for simple curiosity to its possibility and its speed. I imagine that on such a powerful device such a simple OS would run blazingly fast.
Feel free to repost this in the right forum, actually please do.
AJ
Q: Why the hell would you want to do that ? :| You want fast ? Try a 4.0.3 ROM and that's it. End of story.
I wouldn't use it daily, I just never got to use the old android versions and I think it would be a cool gimmick. If the G1 can run ICS why can't the Nexus run Cupcake?
I'm currently running the AOKP (Kang Project), I'd say its the best ICS ROM I've come across
Why would you ever want to do this? it would be equivalent to taking your PC and putting windows 95 on it.....Why would you. 4.0.3 ICS works fine, it doesn't slow the phone down any, downgrading to an older OS isn't going to show you some amazing massive speed increase.
While it may be possible, I think you can assume from the tenor of the responses so far that it isn't too likely that you'll find a lot of people interested in investing the time to make it happen.

This may be the only constructive reply here, thank you. I just wondered if it would be possible or if anyone else was curious enough to try it. Never mine, I'm holding out for a sense ROM, again not a daily driver just a time to time use thing
as ittekaimus said, you'd be unable to run those.
all those versions of android required physical buttons, so you won't have home, back, or menu unless you added softkeys, would would basically require a rewrite of the original code. and no one is going to do it.

IT'S A $1.50 MAN...... If you can dish out $200 on a renew contract or close to $600 off contract when it came out or even $100 on a renewal and $350 of craigslist right now for a phone, I don't see how you wouldn't be able to dish out $1.50 for something someone put countless hours into making.. no need for the ignorance i was simply stating it would be nice if it was free. i don't see a need to put $1.50 into a theme that later down the road will either not work on cm anymore because its a different system. besides when you get a phone you keep that for a pretty long time 2yrs if not more.....so its not putting it into a very good comparison if your comparing a phone and a theme for a phone.

NEW RDF hot off the presses!
NEW RDF IN THE HOUSE!!!!!
Software version ZV9. It smells like candy. The page still says 4.0 but it did the the S2 when it was past that. They don't update the whole page. I would bet my left nut that this is Jelly Bean getting developed or it is done. I really don't have much to lose though since I had a vasectomy 6 years ago. Maybe that is too much information...
It would be nicer if it smelled like Sex and Candy(it is a Marcy's Playground reference for you younger ones). Anyways, just thought you would all like to know. BTW, it said ZV2 last week even though our phones are on ZV8.

With most Samsung phones they use a combination of letters and numbers that correspond with the date the build was made.
On LG they use an ordinal numbering system. So 2 comes after 1 and the next would be 3. We are on the 8th build. The rdf page shows that a 9th build has been made.
Another difference is that Samsung would constantly change the version because they were working on the build. With LG the next build should be number 9 but if it is constantly changing we won't know because there is no date associated with it. So, we don't know if it is progressing or done. We just know it is there.
I might reach out to someone in the know and ask. It would be nice if someone could just leak it.

Can I download and flash that new update?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
I believe what you see their is just The source code. We need the update to leak before we can flash anything. But it's a good sign that the source code is already out for an update that hasn't pushed yet. LG is looking better now they just need to get jb out so we can wait again for the next update
Well, that kind of sucks. Updates and bug fixes are always good. But, it would have been nicer if they were building jelly bean rom.
That pretty much seals the deal though. Since the source says that it is ICS it has to be ICS. I think the chances of 4.1 or 4.2 this year are zilch now. Maybe if the International version gets updated we can get a solid port. I happen to like this UI.

I'm standing about 100 yards from a cell tower and I don't get anything better than 89dbm the handover from lte to 3g is bad and it takes far to long to pick up lte. I can wait until early 2013 for jb as long ad I get a bug free build but we shouldn't have to.

Looks really cool and it would be awesome if it can be ported over to our S3

Good point, though at least with Google I feel a little more in control of my information. Each app is by itself and asks permission to do something. At the same time it integrates nicely with everything. Google Now is very customizable and I have it tuned to just find certain info. Sometimes though, I wish I knew why Maps feels the need to access my GPS so often...but at least with that I can just shut my GPS off completely. Countless times I've opened up chat on facebook, and I always turn off the GPS function because honestly I don't need people to know exactly where I am just because I'm chatting with them. It always turns itself back on no matter how many times I change it to default OFF in the settings, and it always bugs me to turn my GPS on.
I always feel the need to check my privacy settings on Facebook since they have a bad habit of changing them and "accidentally" fixing my settings so more of my stuff is out there. I'm very reluctant to only share what I know I'm sharing, I approve every picture and post I'm tagged in or that has my name on it whatsoever. Honestly I don't trust Facebook more than I don't trust Google.

It might be a nice & cheap phone for custom ROMs. Never mind stock bloatware if the hardware is good.
If price/performance is good it could sell very well. H/W is HTC so quality is likely at least decent.
If that and the bootloader is unlockable, and the phone ROM'able, I'd expect to see custom ROMs getting built eventually.
EDIT: I see it's $450 off contract. There are probably better options in that price area IMO, such as an "old" Galaxy S3, if not now then soon.
And guess what ? I've read that there will be ads all over that launcher/phone thanks god Adaway exists.

Facebook goes to our contact list anyway; it showed me option to add friend to a person who is on my contact on phone but not on facebook.
So it might do same on other side too. Its dangerous to all.
It is a launcher but it will only work on 4.0 and up but its being released for a huge line of devices including mainly HTC and Samsung as they are the supporting companies. The lock screen features are cool I just wish it was for something other than Facebook.

It will have ads also... Constantly polling with data... Goodbye battery.

It would have been a lot better if it was like a custom rom based of cm. like MIUI. but a Launcher really! Im also surprise that they dont have the N4 or the GNexus as their supported devices for the launcher and the icons doesnt seem to be vanilla JB but ICS. It would be a huge fail if they released this phone with ICS. Facebook app have bugs in it. Imagine having a phone that will run facebook home as default.

You do realize gnex and nexus 4 is the "pure android experience" and addind that failbook launcher will just add bloat for something not worth it ?

consediring that samsung hasn't officially released 4.2.2
even if 4.2.2 comes this month it will be on Carrier by the end of year
then we head to 4.3 let us say samsung does release it till the begin of next year you will get it on Carriers by mid year or something so even getting hopes up on a international GS3 now is useless because this is going to happen in the great future
Seems bogus, It's specific to international (as usual) and still running a 3.0 kernel, which is kinda odd. Either way there is about 10 other reports of this out, not sure on those sites credibility though. Here is the discussion of it on the i9300 forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43828326. This seems really odd altogether. Doubt it's real.
Why are you guys worried about 4.3???? 5.0 is where its at

Wait a sec! Are you actually running that??? Or is a screenie you got somewhere else? I don't hardly ever use cm roms, but I am very much looking forward to trying this!!! (If that is what I think it is!)

I read the same thing also.
They will skip 4.2.2 and go straight to 4.3 since it is better.
I hope they are right about this info.

I hope we just get 4.2.2 someday.. Honestly it's not like we are going to see 4.3 probably till summer 2014. Since the S4 and possibly note 3 will get everything first. Again international phone will get everything first.

Did you really fall for that Doc? All you have to do is edit the build prop with a file explorer.
Ziggy you missed an update lol.

Ah well, I guess he did get me with it! You should google CM Nemesis if you want to know why....

Lol! Last night when I was looking at it, everyone was saying Nemesis was the new CM11. (At least where I was looking)
Just did another search and the same sites are now saying it may simply just be a new feature.
So, at the time I had posted my response, the two most popular guesses was it was either cm for iphones, or a new aosp/touchwiz hybrid type of thing. Knowing cm has the gs3, well that's where I was leaning. Then I came back here and saw ziggys post.....so while I know its easily faked, I figured it was at least worth considering that he might have known more. Anyway, I confirmed that's not the case, and he did get me! Oh well, time to go bury my head!

I've heard of it and saw the video on YouTube. Don't you think a nexus device would get a leaked version of 5.0 or we would hear about it from Google before CM gets it? If anything, nemesis has to do with 4.3.

You're most likely correct. But what I had read elsewhere was of rumors that it was a completely new thing. Several had speculated it was CM11 and wasn't going to be 4.3. (Not saying it would be googles 5.0, just that it wasn't 4.3) Its hard to say with all the different rumors at this point. Now its being said it may just be nothing more than a new feature!
What I read last night though, and thinking that he has the S3, and you know they most likely have whatever it is booting and at least partially running, made it seem it was at least in the realm of possibility.
Seems entirely plausible too that someone could be testing it on a T999. But alas, I was in fact mistaken! Little embarrassing, but oh well....

I have no idea what it is or could be, I could be wrong and it maybe a new version of android. I personally think it might be a a new launcher, but we won't know until it is released or leaked.
I wasn't trying to embarrass you in any way, shape or form. I was just trying to point out that what Ziggy posted was from editing the build prop. the only things that made me question the screenshot were the #totallylegit hash tag and the 3.4 kernel.

Nothing there. Turned out it was 4.2.2 all along. Nothing 4.3 about it.

As far as running stock aosp 4.3,it seems kind of pointless to me until cm11 comes out. There is not a lot of new features. Seems pointless for a dev to put a lot of effort and time into it until cm releases a good base.
