[CustomRom] SimpleROM v1.0 for Lumia 900 - Nokia Lumia 900

Hi there,
i proudly present SimpleROM v1.0 for the Nokia Lumia 900
As the ATF-Team released the Qualcomm bootloader for the Lumia 900 just a couple of days ago, i decided to cook a quick rom for it.
Code:
[B][U]Changelog v1.0:[/U][/B]
Basic rom RM-823: RM-823 VAR EU GB CV BLACK - 2175.2905.8858.12480
Basic rom RM-808: RM-808 VAR ATT BLACK - 2175.2307.8858.12480
Languages: All official languages
- Full Unlock v4
- Root Manager
- XapDeployer
- customizable SearchKey
- Wmdc
thanks to [B]ultrashot [/B]for his great development!!
But note: You are using this rom at your OWN RISK! You can not blame me or xda if you brick your device!
AND: I DO NOT HAVE THE RM-808 PHONE !! So i could NOT test it!! I just cooked the rom and it should be ok!
Please give feedback when you tested the rom!! :good:

Please make sure you have a complete backup of your device (backup of ALL partitions of the phone) in case anything goes wrong!

Is there any chance that this will work the rm-808

You need to have an unlocked Quallcom bootloader. If you have the Nokia DLoad you need ATF to flash the unlocked one.

hi i just updated my firmware to 2175.2907.8858.13030 using navifirm and Nokia Product Support Tool. May I know what is Dload and ATF? Also, can you explain in steps on how to flash this. thanks in advance and btw good job

But any chance can you explain how to unlock the bootloader on the rm-808

Guys,
let me ask you one thing: Did you read a little through the forum? did you do any searching?
Ok, this is Lumia 900 section, but in the Lumia 800 section, this was discussed a couple of times now... Everyone is asking the same, i bet your answer's already posted anywhere here on xda
But ok then, once more:
To be able to flash a custom rom to your Nokia Lumia 900, 800, 710, you need to have the qualcomm bootloader on your phone.
To get this, you need to follow a nice tutorial for Lumia 710, but for Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 you need a couple more things:
1. You need ATF flasher box
2. You need good soldering skills or the special atf cables from gpg industries
Here's a tutorial to SIM-Unlock a Lumia 800: http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f609/nokia-lumia-800-unlocked-done-via-tp-atf-nitro-tutorial-1564470/
This is almost the same procedure for "bootloader-unlocking" your Lumia 800 and Lumia 900. You just do not need to click SP-Unlock, you need to click "boot repair" (and select qualcomm, of course).
Here's the thread of the special cables: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112984
So, if you don't want, or can't buy such a box, check for a local phone repair shop in your town/city. If they have ATF, i'm sure they can do this for you for a small amount.

Yeah, good news!
My Lumia 900 arrived today. I'm going to disassemble it now and flash the qualcomm bootloader to it.
Then i'll test my own rom (rm-823) :good:

Very helpful, just curious, do you think this will ever lead to a software based full unlock? Or will we always have to open up the phone to unlock the 900?

i guess we will always have to open it up... sadly.
But right now i'm stuck at removing the metal shield abvoe the nand chip
It's way more difficult than Lumia 800

I think ATF software version 5.91 or higher allow flash boot without opening phone, if wrong pls correct. Because i read ATF log and found this.

That mode is equivalent to flashing using Care Suite or NSS Pro. It only accepts signed FW images.
The JTAG and UART ports discovered in the SIM slot are more promising, someone should check out if they are actually useful.

I thought it would be as easy as flashing a new rom onto an android phone.

It is actually very easy, once you've got your bootloader unlocked. But doing this, can be a real pain...

[Q] Interop unlock

Hi,
Some months ago there was a method to interop unlock thanks to the connectivity setup app. Unfortunately this not possible today.
I have a developer unlocked phone but not a qalcomm bootloader and I don't want to open my phone.
Is there anyway to get the old xap of connectivity setup app, and then apply the patch? If yes where can I get that old xap, I can't find it?
Once I have the xap it seems like I can't deploy it using the classic Application Deployement Software. Is there any mean to interop unllock it without opening it?
Thank you in advance.

I just finished doing this myself on my ATT Lumia 1020 about a couple hours ago and still had all the links available.
The 1st link should give a good overview of what to do.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...le/installing-windows-10-mobile-tech-t3431454
This 2nd link give you a more detailed of how to use Winternals to unlock and root your phone if the steps aren't clear in the 1st post
http://nokiaviews.com/unlock-windows-phone-bootloader-and-enable-mass-storage.html
This 3rd link will give you the specification to modify the phones registry specifically for the 1020.

To boot anything you just have to replace bootarm.efi in EFIESP with a GDR2+ one (GDR2+ includes windows 10 as well). The one in this custom rom efiesp is probably still 8.1. This will solve the boot device not found problem.

The same issue that I explained few months ago here in another thread, but didn't get an useful answer. I have a Nokia Lumia 920 device, and with many different builds of Win10m, either many builds of WinPhone 8 & 8.1 tried to modify Virtual Memory values, everytime following all kind of guides step by step correctly, but always failed to Interop Unlock my Lumia 920.
I tried to do it following guides that works with Registry Providers and without mentioning them, working with Interop Tool S, with Interop Tool L, with previous versions of them, with Custom PFD, with VcReg, ... with any of possible known tools &/or any version of them, but always failed.
Resuming, I don't know if those tools just works with counted and specific devices where the Lumia 920 is not included, if it is my own Lumia 920 that could have any kind of internal problem that I need to solve first (maybe flashing an specific ROM, unlocking/restoring Bootloader, erasing all and manufacture it again [hahahaha], ...), but I never get success with it.
__
In other way, I use to ask about the possibilities of get a dual boot or change OS on Lumia 920, after read that in few lower models were possible to run Android and install GRUB2 on them (what could give anyone the chance to select between 2 Operative Systems installed), and the typical answer is that "if you want android, just buy an android device" or "work on something like this is not relevant" or "is stupid to try it, because drivers of components and blablabla", and mostly answers with silence (no answer in months/years).
XDA is supossed to be a forum to try to collaborate by developing or helping those who develop or want to implement what others develop. But above all, developing things that could be a big challenge that we want to overcome, because after all, this is what did, does and will continue doing the XDA community the greatest dev community of internet; but with this kind of passive attitude and without any curiosity, (which are reflected in that kind of answers up related), doesn't help at all, and even less in the Windows section, so low and less advanced compared to Android, due to the lack of interest of the most of the great developers of this great family.
Recently I offered myself with my own device in another thread to work in something. Well, let's see in a future if I get any proposal or collaboration. Surely never.

ok... Still, the aim is to push it to W10M, so if you manage to get an image with W10M, even without touch, I would be interested in that image instead.
Then, maybe we find a way to get the standard touch back, perhaps with newer W10M updates (eg tricking it as a different device, thus restoring the "normal", non-3Dtouch updated files) or in the worst case, we could perhaps find a workaround with the drivers...
