Hello Guys,
Sony Mobile Germany announces yesterday on Twitter(https://twitter.com/sonyxperiade) the rollout for the Jelly Bean Update for our lovely XS.
They said it will begin in late March, so they keep their promise from Christmas Update Timetable.

late march probabaly means on the 31st for one cda then it will be another 3 weeks before the rest get it and that way they will say we did say we will release it in march and we did.
I hope you´re not right, but my Xperia S is an german generic so I think I`am one of the first who get it.

there have already been quite a few people posting that they have received the update in this thread. One has even posted screenshots to prove.

Holy .. I hope I will receive the update in the Netherlands. I bought my device in the UK. The device isn't on the market in the Netherlands yet. Guess they will be shipped with the fix. Swell, have to dust off Odin again I guess. Is there a package to flash?
Edit: never mind..found the update package here already.
Got mine earlier today. Just did a manual check for update at around 18 and there it was.
Kinda freaked out when it wouldn't connect to the mobile network after the update, no connection at all heh. Only thing that worked was Wi-Fi. Thankfully fixed by another reboot

Updates go out based on IMEI. It is is no way dependent on your location or carrier.

Great. Nevertheless I applied the update manually. But good to know for the future.
I just got the update too, but Im rooted so it wont update. Has someone posted a rooted version yet? I'm not really about to read through 200 pages in the other thread

Is this a rhetorical question?
Many sites have reported that Google is saying the Galaxy Nexus will be back on the Play Store with Jelly Bean pre-loaded next week. So, next week is extremely likely. And next week is mid-July.
They told on the Google I/0 that the source will be released on the 15th of July (or it was when jb will be released for the nexus. Not sure )

Someone posted this a few weeks ago, at the time it didn't seem very accurate. For example, Germany has been "updating" for around 2 1/2 weeks now. No idea where the info about US variants being expected in November came from.
Lot of comments mention issues as well.
Not trying to bash on the guys work, but just more rumors is all I chalk it up to. I'm personally not putting much faith into any of the rumors. As far as I'm aware, there has still been no reliable source of info to say that it'll be Oct, Nov, or even later. Sure it'll be great if it turns out true, but its all speculation from what I can see.

That's because we're stuck waiting for T-Mo/VZW/Sprint/ATT to "test" the update before we are allowed to get it, everything is done slowly here in the US

same here will wait till the end of the year and then root thats what i did for my samsung vibrant as well....The phone performance is great so far...so not really a problem as compared to GB!!!!

I wasn't going to do anything more than root until I decided I had to have the Google Wallet hack which does not work on LH2. So I shopped around a bit a settled on Wicked V5 (GL1 base) which had some features from JB and others I liked. Then came the big surprise! It is so much faster and smoother than stock UVALEM or LH2! I still can't believe how the devs improved upon what Samsung released to us, which was damn smooth and fast already. I'm not as annoyed by the wait anymore.

Dude, Jelly Bean discussions are prohibited, because too many topics were closed by moderators people were raging against Sony and this isn't the place.
Anyway, official date is: "From the end of March", but a lot of people are saying that it'll arrive early, personally I guess May 9th~16th.

I have just finished my conversation with a Sony representative from Sony chat support, i allready knew the fact that JB for Xperia S was not released, but still, i was playing stupid to find out some more info about the new build that appears on sony offical page. Here is what i asked them:
Hello dear Sony. I'm a new Xperia S user, just jumped from a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, i really like your phone, but i have a question. My phone is contract free, unlocked, but i only have ICS 4.0.4 android on it (6.1.A.2.55 build). As i can see from your support page, a new build is available from 24 of april, build 6.2.A.0.200, and i think it's Jelly Bean. I really would like to install this update so i can fix many bugs and lags in my phone, but my phone doesn't recieved the OTA update yet, and PC companion says i have the latest firmware. I don't think they are too lazy to announce the news. Everyone loves good news.
IMO, they was just testing and waiting for everything to be ready before saying something.
What if they told you that they will release the firmware on 24-April-2013 but they couldn't deliver it on time?
My friend this notice is in Sony Blog since May 20th, and says APRIL 24 !!!! NOT May !!!

It is getting a little childish here, I admit,
first I thought why would Sony screw up an important date and then it's gotta be May 24 and JB and still say: Hey Babies, stop crying!!
But then I thought: wait a minute: if this is right, it IS April 24 then why does nobody have this version ??? (because I don't...)

Tried to update from Sony PC Companion. Got a 'Server not accessible' error. We must be pretty close. Never expected to be this excited to get a year old OS update
