Kindle Fire says Kindle is upgrading but doesn't actually upgrade? - Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting

I've had my Kindle Fire (Gen 2) since December last year.
I was able to successfully root it and install the Google Play store. I was having loads of problems with it and I decided to unroot it and remove the Google Play Store, but since then every time I boot it up I get Kindle is upgrading but it doesn't actually upgrade anything.
How can I stop this coming up every time I boot it up?

[Q] Can't install google marketplace. Tried several things.

I'm sorry for starting a new thread, but I've tried several things on this board and nothing seems to work.
I rooted my fire a while back with Kindle Fire Utility with no problems. I had google marketplace and then installed twrp, so I'm not a total noob.
However, after rooting my friend's kindle, the marketplace doesn't show up, and nothing I do after scouring the internet seems to let me install it.
Do you recommend that I install twrp, and wipe the whole kindle clean and retry or what?
What might be the reason that I installed everything easily on mine, but not his? Will wiping the kindle clean fix this issue?
Watch Nat3mil do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTkegVrnAvA or the kindle fire utility 0.9.3 has it under extras selection 2 google apps/go launcher
That's just it. I installed the extras and it added all of the apps but the store. That didn't happen to me before, and is what is so strange. I'm watching Nate's video.
The KFU has been know for not being able to installed Google play store, so here are the intructions I used.
Pre requisites:
Your device must be rooted.
Note: Lots of ROMS out there have Google play store and apps already installed. There is even a rom called MoDaCo that uses the kindle fires stock UI but comes with market installed. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916
1. Download Google play http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583888 and Googleservicesframework. Apk
http://www.2shared.com/file/XvA0M1uz/GoogleServicesFramework.html
2. Move the Google play store to system/apps
3. Install Googleservicesframework apk like a normal application.
4. Reboot your device

Kindle Fire Root, Cyanogenmod problem.

I rooted my Kindle Fire using the Kindle Fire Utility V 0.9.9 and it was awesome but I decided to take it a step further and try to install the Cyanogenmod as well. When my Kindle was rebooting it was stuck at boot so I did a factory reset wipe in TWRP and when it rebooted it still has cyanogenmod installed, except it starts up fully now.. Only problem is with the wipe I don't have any apps. No ROM manager, No Google Play, no Kindle stuff, etc.
I guess the main thing is how do I get Google Play or some other app service to work on it? I've tried downloading the store .apk but then when I try and run it, it just flashes up and closes immediately.
Oh, fixed everything. Only problem was I didn't install from Gapps from root and so I couldn't get anything on my device. Works great now, can't believe how limited the Kindle Fire interface was.. now it's essentially just a Android Tablet.

[Q] Kindle Fire Sideloading

Hey, guys. First post here.
I have a second gen Kindle Fire with system version 1.4.6. I've sideloaded apps onto it before, and they all went through without a hitch. However, the last few times I've tried, when i get to the screen detailing what the app is allowed to do on the system, I can't touch the install button and start the installation. It just doesn't respond at all, but the Cancel Button next to it does. Can anyone help explain why and/or help me fix the problem?
you could root your device and install your apps directly from the play store...

kindle fire hd 8.9 unrooted running really slow?

i have a kindle fire hd 8.9 and it started running real slow and freezing up. so i did a factory reset and it still seems to be running stupid? anyone have any idea why that would be? virus? one of my apps? aside from factory reset is there a better way to do a complete reset to the way i bought it?
I also had same kind of problems, please read
Yes, i know... it runs super-slow at times..... i have a cm11.0 (kitkat) based rom installed on my kindle fire hd 8.9!
It now runs superb.... okay, if u want the fire os then u have to root it to get speed.. but if still not then custom rom is the only way....
Don't worry, amazon warranty is not needed, i also never needed it... kindle fire hd 8.9 is superb tablet if unlocked to full potential....
So i have some links for u-
Youtube (best way)- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUW6KARo8Y4
TWRP 2.6.3.1 (after youtube for installing cm11.0)- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2218802
CM 11.0 things (after youtube if u want)- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2543481&nocache=1
its easy, but never ever sikp even one step or ur kindle fire hd 8.9 is gone, otherwise it is very good and non-buggy!
DON'T WORRY
Clarification question: can this be done with the kindle fire HDX? Any reason that you know of where this would not work?
The hdx has no custom roms yet because the boot loader is locked and we haven't gotten around that yet, also it uses a different method to root it, so in short that tutorial won't work on a hdx, its more likely to brick it.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire HD running CM10.1 Tablet UI using xda-developers app
My 7 HD would run very slow a lot of the time. I downloaded Greenify:root from the play store and side-loaded it. I learned the slowness was always caused by one or more non-kindle services or apps (ones I side-loaded like the google authentication service. Greenify:Root let me force most of them to sleep, which usually solved any slowness immediately. On occasion I had to force the google auth. service to sleep manually, but again the problem always was solved this way. Your kindle has to be rooted to use this great free program.
Good-luck!

Fire TV Cube 2nd gen won't update past 6.2.6.8

Just picked up FTV Cube yesterday. After many reboots and factory resets, I cant get past 6.2.6.8. I know the latest is 7.x. It tries but hangs at downloading system components. At one time I had 2 of every icon in settings. But a FR cleared that up. I try the update without customizing the cube or installing any apps. Only entered my Amazon acct info. I know back in the day you could ADB in and send over the update file but can we still do that and where are the latest update.bin for 7.x? Thanks
Had same problem with Fire Stick 4K, called Customer Support, and they told me to make my smartpfone a hotspot, connect my stick to it and retry. It didn't work for me, (still in 6.2.6.8) but it might work for U. I have read here and in other forums that it is common that same Fire devices would not get the same update, at least not at the same time. When you will get the 7.2.1.2 version, which is based on Android 9, NetFlix will get Atmos support. Hope Amazon will release 7.2.1.2 for Fire TV Stick 4K too...
