Tried on my C6602 with several combinations - such as 6602 rom+ 6506 baseband then change it to LTE, 6603 rom + 6506 baseband, and finally flashed the whole 6506 rom and baseband - either of those worked/_\ too bad....
I hope someday somebody would develop or leak a tool like the one they use to unlock samsung devices' baseband....since the hardware is basically identical.

How'd you just flash the baseband? What's the BB version for stock C6506?

Not really..... The hardware is what determains bands most of the time. Only CERTAIN ones that software/baseband unlocked bands like AT&T Note and AT&T note 2

Can anyone point me to a working link to download the .434 FTF file?
I'm currently on the Lollipop .222 build and I have an unlockable bootloader. After reading the forums, it seems the only way to root my phone is to downgrade to .434 first, root and then upgrade back to Lollipop. The links in this thread seem to be broken. I've tried searching other threads and elsewhere but can't find a working link to download this .434 FTF. Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
New FTF Firmware for Flashtool for Xperia ZL (C6506)
Android Version: 4.1.2
Firmware Version: 10.1.1.A.1.253
Filesystem Version: Generic US 1270-7584 R8A

Enjoy the new firmware!!!
thank you very much
I am looking for it for many days
Thanks for this, I was begining to think nobody was going to post this FTF for the C6506. Your link says its for the C6606 - Isnt that for the Z instead of the ZL or it doesnt make a difference?
Nevermind, hotfile name is C6506 - I'll assume it's a typo
Thanks

follow this step I just rooted mine with .253 c6506
That method is only for people with an unlocked or unlockable bootloader. Mine is currently locked and cannot be unlocked.
Sucks for me, gotta wait for someone to come up with a Root exploit for locked bootloaders.
Hope someone is working on it...

Since build 434 can be rooted with a locked or unlocked bootloader, wouldn't be possible to create a zip file of the stock ROM 253 and simply add Root to it so that people with locked bootloaders would be able to flash that from CWM or TWRP while running build 434.
If I remember correctly, thats how I had done it for my Xperia T.

Hi.
This is, what they did with the Xperia Z. Seems to work.
But there is no prerooted Stock Rom for the ZL, isnĀ“t it?

[Stock ROM][FTF] Xperia ZL (C6506) 10.3.1.A.0.244 Commercial & Journalists

As the title says, attached are the links to download the 10.3.1.A.0.244 Commercial/Journalists (1270-4005) firmware for the C6506. This contains the same baseband needed for the AT&T LTE, not sure about others. From my observations, the firmware is identical to the US Generic, nothing more...nothing less.
If you want to use it to flash other C6506 variants (e.g. Canada, Mexico, etc...), you should be able to flash everything except the baseband and that will maintain your original baseband. Alternatively, you can flash the original baseband afterwards if the included baseband doesn't support your carrier. Just make sure you have a stock FTF of your firmware before you decide to go this route.
I was also able to successfully root it via DoomLord's latest thread. It will require the kernel from the previous C6505 10.3.A.0.423 stock firmware (C6506 ONLY). Customization doesn't matter, as long as it's for the C6506 and Android 4.2.2 so the kernels match. If not, you'll get into a bootloop.
Upon successful initial boot, it will ask you to download Data/MMS settings. Just as well, it will default to WCDMA connection type, so just go under Settings>Networks(more)>Mobile Networks>Network Mode and select LTE.
It is always HIGHLY ADVISABLE that you keep a stock FTF of your firmware before flashing any other stock FTF that changes your customization, so you can easily go back to your original customization or repair the phone in case something goes wrong. You can learn more about this here.
Dev-Host
File 1: http://d-h.st/FSs
File 2: http://d-h.st/lsJ
You'll need 7-Zip or any extractor that can handle 7Z formats.
So whats different on this compared to other stock images? Just curious

Would this work for my locked canada C6506 ?
I noticed zero differences between this and US Generic. Software is dead on identical in every way. The only reason I flashed this is because Sony hasn't released the 10.3.1.A.0.244 for the C6505 US Generic...and I, and others I'm sure, are highly impatient to wait
It should work, just make sure you have an FTF of your current stock ROM in case you need to flash the baseband from it. Like I said, I don't know for certain whether the baseband from this ROM supports the LTE bands of your carrier or not. For me, AT&T was supported the same way the US Generic did.

Absolutely. Flashing stock FTFs don't require an unlocked bootloader, only custom ROMS do. So you should be good to go.

The update is awesome, the phone is pretty much flawless now.
BTW...Sony just released the update for the US Generic (just now)...so you might want to check for the the OTA or use PC Companion. In other words, you don't need to flash the ROM in this thread.

Urgent help for Xperia ZL (6505) 4.1
Guys - I just got a Xperia ZL (c6506) and unlocked it from Claro. The problem is that Claro has put so much of bloatware on the phone plus there is still for update on 4.1 JB.
Can I flash a stock ROM (4.3) on my current phone to get rid of the bloatware and run 4.3 ? I am still on baseband 10.1.1.A.1.253 and bootloader is locked.
I understand this is a pretty novice request but please help as I am getting confused with the multiple info being provided.
Can you give me A link of c6506 baseband or ftf that LTE supported ? Because it has dead link .

[Q] Korean Optimus G/Rooting & such

Greetings people
I've got a couple of issues with my Optimus G E975, bought from S Korea but used in Norway. I'll try to be quick and short.
The phone works well and all that, but my issues are more technically challenged.
When I bought it there wasn't any info that the phone would have a carrier logo at startup and on the back (Olleh) and that it would be a couple of Korean apps that are totally useless to me since I'm not korean. I want to delete them but they are "built-in" so that didn't work.
I tried to root my phone, to the best of my knowledge, but I was not successful. I've tried to understand how I could do it, but the more I read the more I didn't understand
So please, if there is anyone, someone, who would kindly guide me throug the rooting/cracking/breaking etc the phone I would be hugely thankful.
Mostly because I want to remove the carrier logo on start-up and the annoying Korean apps, maybe turn it into a European version if possible?
Here are some stat/info on the phone:
Android-version: 4.1.2
Kernel-version: 3.4.0
Version number: JZO54K
Program-version: F180K20n
Any and all help is mighty appreciated :good:

Don't know what you and other guys doing, rooting is simple and works on Korean and English version.
You can than delete apks.
Or simple flash Europe 10D kdz' root, freegee, flash Korean modem.

I believe the point andyxoxo is making has a lot of sense: haresh311999's methods works only with unlocked bootloaders. People who cannot unlock bootloaders or doesn't want (myself), doesn't have a working rooting tool/method. Let's write in this thread our effort (I changed the title accordingly).
So far among the known methods only what rsrishabh is suggesting has to be tested.

I think this method might work.
Bcz if we select not to wipe user data, it will keep the user apps and data, I'm not sure what happens with system apps and SuperSu is system app, yeah?
Possibly it won't.
This is just my guess.
It will keep the SuperSU app but it will not have the "root" power.
It's just a guess, someone must try on locked bootloaders.
