[Q] Phone stuck on the Samsung logo and won't go into recovery - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Hey everyone
I've got a Galaxy S3 Mini GT-I8190N and I've got a huge problem.
It first started out with me trying to root my phone, everything seemed to go well until i tried to turn my phone on, which resulted in it being stuck on the samsung logo, I snooped around the internet trying to find a solution and was recommended to reflash with different tar files but nothing worked. I tried to reset to factory settings through recovery mode but I couldn't even access the recovery mode. I then tried to get back to factory settings using Samsung Kies but after the whole installation it didn't seem to work either. I tried almost everything possible, I checked out every link on the first page of google relating to my problem yet nothing works. The only thing I can do is enter download mode and that's it.

Very different internals in your Galaxy S3 Mini compared to the tmobile galaxy s3 t999. Did you flash using the methods from this forum? If so youre using the wrong files. Head on over to s3 mini sub forum and see if you can get some answers there.

Yea that was for the original s3 varients not the mini. Spend some time over at the other forum and see what they have to say. Take it slow too! Its better to spend a day or two without a phone and getting it right then to rush a fix and end up ruining it!!
the fact that you can still enter download mode is good though. If kies still recognizes your phone when its in download mode then I think it will be an easy fix. Again though, research over on that subforum as it will be your best bet!

You can use Odin to flash another rom. I have been in the same situation and rooted with stock rom via odin and succeed.

Thanks for the new breath of hope! I thought this phone was completely done for. I'd gladly have no phone for a week or two as long as I get a fix for it.

I think we've all been in that situation before! I hard bricked my sprint s3 by flashing an internation rom...oops. there was no saving that one

Me too
yeah well i've got the same problem. I accidentally turn off my phone via removing the battery while its still on . Then after that , it's stuck on the samsung logo . What to do ?

Boot recovery and factory reset. (If it's stock recovery it will wipe your internal sdcard)
If that doesn't work Odin flash the stock firmware.

[Q] [HELP] Flashed CDMA image on GSM (Not booting) [bricked]

Hello everyone,
My phone was working fine until it starts an infinit loop when I tried to fix it, I downloaded and flashed a CDMA rom (mysid) on my GSM Galaxy nexus GT-I9250 (yakju) by mistake.
I tried ODIN to flash it back but it always stuck when it starts to write the bootloader
ODIN post that I used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1586807
I attached a screenshot of my current phone state
Is there a way to fix this mistake?
Please note that I don't have warrantee on my phone :'(
if you have a CWM recovery try that first. andifthat doesnt work then try flashing with fastboot. thats what i would do

I'm not totally involved in all the modding, but I do know that if you can get something to pop up(like that screen), you didn't destroy your device. Just keep playing around with tools and what not until it starts working.

Unfortunately CMW can't start and I think it been wiped out after I CDMA rom..
fastboot is not detecting nor recognizing the device.. I need to get to recovery mode to use fastboot which I can't go further than the attached screen..
Thanks though for your suggestion

Happened to me with my Epic 4G Touch... flashed the wrong image and ruined my mood. Tried everything but unfortunately, I had to get it jtagged by some guy online.
Have you tried running Odin as administrator? Usually works for me.

Thanks for sharing.. do you mind if you send me the online guy contact in case I can't fix it.
First, try flashing whatever ODIN file you HAVEN'T tried flashing. It may successfully flash...
Your phone still probably won't boot...but you might have access to the bootloader at that point.
If not:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rdn5GoRjhn0
Make a jig.
Or find one on amazon.com.
This will get you into download mode and make ODIN usable.
Don't worry if our device doesn't list as a "working device" if you decide to purchase one...it'll work.
Edit:
Oh, and the "counter reset" that people talk about online with these jigs...
Ya, our phones don't have a flash counter. So that is irrelevant. FYI.

I have ordered:

Thank you Jubakuba! for your suggestions and support.. The Youtube video seems to be very identical to my situation but with the galaxy S. I hope the jig helps me to get to download mode.
It's really amazing to see this kind of support and assuring around here.. I truly love you guys! :')

Hard Bricked Sprint Galaxy s3 Need Help!!!

So I managed to Brick my sprint version of the galaxy s3. Like an idiot I overlooked a rom and used the i9300 version instead of my model version(nood move). Anyway I can't turn my phone on AT ALL!! I tried putting in into download and recovery and I get nothing. How do i fix this?? Anyone???
If u can't get download mode or recovery than there is no help. Maybe a jig if u have one but I'm not sure if they even work for the s3.

Ahhhh shyt! These new phones are harder to fix now, never had this problem before, but its like if mess up once with these new galaxy s3's thats it, whats the point of flashing roms when you chance it every time. Thanks though man looks like I'll have to call to get a new one.

I thought I hard brick my sons phone and here is what I did: Worth a try at this point.
Take battery out and do NOT put it back in. Take SD card out. Plug phone into computer and attempt download mode. Mine booted right up with this method when it wouldn't with anything else. If it does flash the stock rom through Odin right away and you are good to go.

I just tried that and no luck. sounds like u soft bricked it. I can't get it to turn on period. The only thing that turns on is the lcd light but only for 10 seconds then shuts off. Thanks for the help though!
If your getting a light, even temporary, I'd boot a tinycore Linux and see what mode its in for that 10 seconds

Do you get a screen at all? You say you're softbricked but you also say it doesnt start up. If you are really just softbricked then you have a screen too, in which case you'll just look like an ass going to sprint because they will see you fuucked with it and laugh you out the store. If you are hardbricked then you would have just a black screen. If you have a screen, do some reading like you shouldve done in the first place and fix it yourself.

Mine was hard bricked and it couldn't be turned on period. If yours is soft brick then you should be able to get it back into download mode but you can't get it to turn on at all, then you have a hard brick. I went to sprint and got a brand new one because they couldn't fix it either. So unless they can fix it you will have to get a new one!
Also Hard Bricked.

Hi please follow these steps
1 download stock firmware below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737859
2 download clock work mod (CWM-Recovery-LTE-SGS3-Sprint-v5.zip) below

5 once the cwm is flashed remove the usb cable and remove battery, hold for a sec and put the battery back again.
6 Reboot to recovery VOL UP + HOME Button + POWER, you should boot to CWM.
7 do DATA WIPE 3 times

Hello All,
I wish my first post was not for the issue of a bricked phone but it seems like it might be.
I have the sprint samsung S3 and was installing the http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1905676 Rom and something seems to not have gone right.
I got an error and when I went to restart my phone I get nothing...
Thanks for the help and if I have no options would anyone like to by a lovely almost new GS3?

[Q] Stuck on boot after unroot

Sorry for posting a new thread but I want to make sure I am heading in the right direction. I bought a Galaxy S3 yesterday that was rooted. I want to put it back to stock ROM. I downloaded Odin and the ATT Stock ROM's. Everything went ok and passed without fail, but my phone is stuck on boot. Googling around I found a how to where I could run CWM Recovery, but it seems like this is for rooted devices stuck at boot. I am looking to go back to stock. Will this work or is there something else I am missing? Thanks and I will begin searching on the forum for help.
Edit: My phone does go into dowload mode.

Great. Thanks for that link. I actually found that video and was looking for the drivers. I noticed the one he linked if for Sprint. My phone is ATT though. I clicked on the ATT link a little further down in his description where it says AT&T USA. I am assuming this is the correct file to install right? Now is that the TAR file or the drivers? He didnt post an AT&T link for one of those.

Ok I followed QBkings video and everything worked fine and passed but I am still stuck on the Samsung screen. I know he mentioned factory reset but he did it once he was already into the actual phone. Mine wont get in.
You guys are all beasts! Thanks a million for the help. Factory reset finally worked! My phone didnt reset by itself though.
Well I see you must have been able to fix your phone!
It must be like the Atrix 2, but instead of FXZ restoration w/ RSD Lite, you use TAR files and Odin

Well youre in luck because if it showing a Samsung logo its not bricked.
Second just flash the factory image found in the android development forum. You can do this by booting into download mode by holding the power button and home button and volume down as it boots and then use odin to flash the .tar factory image you just downloaded...its simple really. So dont panic because its entirely fixable!
Just go find a guide on how to flash factory images and youll find step by step Instructions

I'd have to be shown it is possible to brick a high end samsung device. Between recovery and in the worst cases Odin or in some cases emergency recovery in Kies I have recovered from a complete non bootable phone. No vibrate, no splash screen, nothing. One of the real positives to Samsung and their software. An, as far as I am concerned, virtually unbrickable smartphone.

Instead it's enough to just restore the fonts via one of the zip files found http://tips4droid.com/how-to-install-jelly-bean-font-by-flashing-it-through-cwm-recovery/#.US8t2Ddc1ic"here:
I copied the zip file to my external SD card and then used CWM Recovery to install it to my phone.
To enter CWM Recovery, press Volume UP, Home and Power Button at the same time.
Hope this is helpful!
Cheers, FW

I'd have to be shown it is possible to brick a high end samsung device. Between recovery and in the worst cases Odin or in some cases emergency recovery in Kies I have recovered from a complete non bootable phone. No vibrate, no splash screen, nothing. One of the real positives to Samsung and their software. An, as far as I am concerned, virtually unbrickable smartphone.

There might be others, such as me, you know...
what i did the other day was.....
i was installing different ROMs. maybe 3 or 4 a day just to get a feel for different ones. Since i am using a t889 on NET10's ATT network, i wanted to ATTEMPT to change over my phones hardware or internal settings to pick up the ATT towers better... my phone is already unlocked for ATT, so whatever im attempting is not needed. not knowing exactly what I'm doing I confused myself a bit. I went to the GooManager recovery page and was wiping all my information so i can install another ROM. while wiping the information off my phone, i was browsing through my SD card i had in the phone and saw a modem pack i put on it. FORGETTING that i just deleted everything i went ahead and just installed the modem pack and rebooted my phone. lol it got stuck on the SAMSUNG GALAXT NOTE 2 page. my MAC, PC & KIES on both weren't picking up my phone via USB. i left the phone attached to my PC and went to get dinner. came back 2 hours later and saw that my phone was connected to the computer. I ran ODIN, put a stock image of tmobiles system on the phone and had to start over with my ROM experiment.
needless to say, i was bummed thinking that i just broke such a nice phone.

And bricked means brick...paperweight...no life, no lights
I prefer Sponged=soft-bricked means you can odin in stock firmware and restore service

Not a good start, stuck on Galaxy Tab3 screen

Right well seems like ive screwed my Tab already, tried to root my phone with Odin, all looked like it went through ok but after reboot its now just stuck on the white Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 screen,
Anyone point me in the right direction, be it the bin or a post with some nice D/L links to solve it.
Thanks in advance

If you can re-boot into download mode.... (and you should know how since you've used Odin) then flash your original Samsung Firmware.
If you can re-boot into recovery mode.... do a factory reset..
Try that and good luck

Cheers jimmbomb, could you point me to the easiest place to get the original firmware.
If its stuck on the Samsung logo just get into recovery mode and erase everything. It will work. My note 2 did this when downgrading and it was solved doing so.
