1. Dl rom using cm updater
2. Boot to recovery
3. Flash it /sdcard/cmupdater
4. Flash the vendor installer
(5) If you bootloop, flash the boot.img also.
No you dont need to install every update. Do it like once a week and youll still get all the changes.
@flashlight There might be some minor flaws because it's an automated build system. If you lose some feature you care about just revert to a backup.

im lost.. dont know what to do anymore.

sup guys!
I would like to have the JB update from ARHD 16 but im totally lost in the proces of how to do it.
i succesfully unlocked the bootloader
Installed Custom recovery and did a nandroid backup
also my phone is rooted
-Downloaded the custom rom
-Downloaded the flash boot IMG
soo what is the exact thing i need to do know? i know i need to update Hboot.. but when and how. also i want a custom kernel for max battery life.. IM CONFUSED!?!
with my motorola defy it was so easy..
First you need to update your HBOOT.
Easiest way is using >> THIS tools thanks to Stuart001.
After you succesfully done that you can flash the rom, a rom flash instruction is described in rom thread where you download the rom.zip.
Normal steps go like this:
upload downloaded rom.zip to storage on your device
flash boot.img
clear cache
install rom.zip using recovery option
Aroma installer (in rom.zip) has an option to wipe your device, I suggest you do that during rom install as well.
Of course this will erase all data, I'm just trying to help and don't take any responsibility.
if you have a supporting cid. Then only you can install jb sense roms.
ah nevermind. already found out how by chrashing my phone haha. i already solved it and now running custom rom!

Clean flash of PA Beta 6 + PA Micro Modular GApps 2-17 I'm in trouble :(

soooo I've got a ton of problems.. well 1 big problem..
I just wiped & clean flashed Beta 6 of PA & the latest February 17th Mini Modular GApps on my Nexus 5.. every time it boots I get Unfortunately Phone Has Stopped constantly & I cannot get past it to do any setup..
I've learned a valuable lesson today & due to my arrogance it had to be this way..
PA has always been rock solid for me so I don't have a backup
I can't get to my actual phone now only the initial setup screen #1 & Unfortunately phone has stopped..
Any suggestions ?
Boot to recovery
Wipe system partition
Install ROM and Gapps
Sent from my Nexus 5
I managed to get back to an actual phone with a return to stock guide here..
Now that I've done that.. did flashing the full package from Hammerhead on Google return me to unrooted ?
Even if I do get root & a custom recovery back.. I'm worried now will it happen again ?
PA Beta 6 & Mini Modular.. that's what I want on my Nexus 5..
this was the guide I used.. I did Method 1..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2513701
Why would you go through all that?
You don't need to root to flash a ROM.
You are making it harder than it really is...
Flash custom recovery
Factory reset in recovery
Install ROM
Install gapps
Reboot

If my bootloader is still unlocked after the stock flash can I use flashify to flash recovery ? Or will that not work without the root access..
I suspect the preferred method is the fastboot flash recovery.img
I'll avoid that if I can though
As for why I did all that.. I couldn't access my internal storage anymore because of the twrp issue where on boot it asks for a password no one set because I didn't reboot bootloader during my initial root & recovery process..

DISCUSSION: YU Yureka CM 12(S) Lollipop Update

Current firmware: Android 5.0.2, Build LRX22G, Cyanogen OS version 12.0-YNG1TAS0W0
OTA: http://builds.cyngn.com/cyanogen-os...deeca328/cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0W0-tomato-signed.zip

Boot Debuggable image: http://builds.cyngn.com/cyanogen-os...cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0W0-tomato-boot-debuggable.img
Use OTA for manually update from any official KitKat build; don't use fastboot flashable images on existing devices with KitKat bootloader - it will brick the device!

service centre help or not?
Posted cm12
Just installed the zip version of cm12 on yu. Could not wait for the official ota update. Updated zip using cwm recovery which I had installed while the phone was running on the cm11 kitkat 4.4.4 version.
I understand that since this is just a system update there is no need to change or revert back to the original recovery.
(just a doubt- is it necessary to revert back to original 4.4.4 system stock recovery in case we get the OTA or the OTA will take care of any Custom recovery and will install iteslf?)
Initial boot will take a long time due to the Android Runtime (ART) virtual machine which is the improvisation over the Dalvik Cache. So please be patient for all the 122 apps to get registered in by ART. I had tried the ART while on cm11 4.4.4 (despite of system warning that it might lead to crashes etc... ), even then it took a very long time......
Working absolutely fine. Initial experience is awesome. Will be observing it now for some time. Most other features are similar to the cm11. no more 3g detection errors. Got to explore more....
My first posting in XDA.
I owe a lot to this community from which I have taken a lot. I hope I will be able to give back even little that I have got to help others. :good::good:
By zip version i mean the version that can be installed using the phone recovery with out the need of a computer to push the system (i.e. the flashable version). I am not aware what the debuggable version means.

YES YOU CAN JUST FOLLOW THIS STEPS
1. Download official CM12s Ota(1st zip in the link).
2. Place the downloaded zip file in the ‘download’ folder on phone’s internal storage.
3. Boot Yureka into Stock Cyanogen recovery - To do so, power off the phone. Then press Volume Up + Volume Down and Power button simultaneously,Onec you boot into recovery do data/ factory reset.
4. Select ‘Apply Update’ > ‘choose from internal storage’ > /0 > Download > and select “cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0W0-tomato-signed.zip” file. The ROM will be flashed and you should be seeing the Android Bot
5. Once installation is over, go to main page and ‘wipe cache partition’
6. Then select Reboot system now
That’s it! Wait for a while as the device boots for the first time with all new and fresh Cyanogen OS 12.
IF you dont get anyhting just revert me back ,or pm will help you.

Hi, You can very well install the .....signed.zip using the CWM recovery as I did.
1. Install the .....signed.zip file and not the ....flashable.zip or the ....bootable.zip files. Only the .....SIGNED.ZIP file either on your phone memory or sdcard
2. Reboot into the recovery mode either by using the advanced reboot option or by pressing the volumeup+down button and power buttons simultaneously and releasing them once you see the Yu logo and phone vibrates.
2. Use the Factory reset command first and then wipe the Cache
3. Navigate to the Install zip and chose the .....SIGNED.zip from either your phone memory or the SD Card as CWM has the option to chose the zip file. and swipe to install it.
4. After successful installation navigate to reboot and swipe to allow the system to restart.
5. Intial boot takes a very long time saying Android is updating. This is because Lollipop uses Android Runtime (ART) by default and not Dalvik Cache as a virtual machine for all apps. So please be patient till all the 122 or so apks are updated by ART. Takes around 10-15minutes.
6. The usual fist time boot stuff.... and then...
7. Enjoy. CM12 it is sweet.

It is android version 5.0.2
To flash through recovery (either CWM or TWRP) use the .....SIGNED.ZIP i.e. the first file in the list and NOT the .flashable.zip or the last one. Only the first one.
I installed the zip through CWM
The only bug I noticed was when you add the Powersaver option tile in the Notification drawer, when in the power saving mode, a notification showing the power save mode got invoked. When I used the same option after rebooting I am not getting it now..
Also all of a sudden a red boundary started to appear at the edges of the screen. So I though I had opted for the screen refresh notification in the Developer options but I had not. Still i could see the red rectangle when the screen refreshed. I had to reboot the system. Now fine.

[Q]E988 Boot certification verify

I have kitkat 4.2.2 stockbase, rooted, trying to install cwm but stuck in the secure booting error boot certification verify.
Previously i installed rom manager app and flash the cwm from the app. After reboot to recovery, only stock recovery that showed, then i reboot to system, install freegee in order to flash the cwm but fail as freegee doesnt support gpro kitkat.
After that i install gpro kitkat recovery and flash the cwm from the app, success, reboot to recovery but stuck on the error.
I uninstalled rom manager and freegee, but still no luck to get the flashed cwm recovery, stuck in secure booting error.
Any suggestion or thread reference? Why is very difficult to install custom rom on this device?i plan to install carbon rom :crying:
Thank you in advance.

Btw looks like you are the only person that still active in this thread...really appreciate it...thank you very much
You're complicating it too much, to be honest
Just do it this way:
1. flash stock 4.1.2 and keep it that way
2. root, install Freegee, install initial recovery (twrp, cwm, doesn't mater), update it to TWRP from forums (2.8 version is preferred)
3. you're ready to flash create stock backup and flash roms.
If I remember, all those changes are already implemented in both SlimLP and Carbon. Slim has newer kernel and gpu drivers, and that's it.
So you are saying i just flash the rom as is without any further change?Noted shady...i will inform you the result

a. Flash to stock 4.1.2 (v10e) : success but then the master file i downloaded is gone
b. Root, install freegee, initial recovery: success
c. Update to twrp 2.8 using twrp manager: success
d. Flash to Carbon: fail, canot enter recovery mode with message secure booting error, boot certification verify
So i just rollback to kitkat stock

So, you can't boot TWRP at all? It seems that TWRP you installed isn't lokified. Are you sure you've installed TWRP 2.8? I remember flashing it directly via flashify on my device and it worked.. Also, check TWRP thread for lokified zip, I think someone posted that.
Edit: you see now why almost everyone abandoned this device

After installing freegee's twrp, reboot to recovery. Then, it might be OK.
After that, reboot system and use flashify, the free version will do.
You can either choose to download the file or chose from your internal / external memory.
I'm using the latest version TWRP 3.0.2.0.
If it doesn't work at first, go back to start and try again...

G Pro doesn't support fastboot commands (or is really limited in that field, I'm not sure what to say/think), due to some mess LG made. Mine didn't even want to 'adb reboot bootloader', it simply rebooted device back to system, and was pain in the ass for many things because It has custom download mode, it has custom boot sequence, everything is locked down... everything is different from everything else you're used to. Thank God back then a+b OTA system didn't exist, we'd never get any AOSP support not...
Do as g0at1 said - flash TWRP from Freegee, boot it to make sure it works, reboot back to system and flash newer TWRP from Flashify or any other tool like that one. I did have E988 (just Taiwan variant), and never had that much issues, nearly every time it was a straightforward 'flash JB KDZ, root it manually, Freegee, newer TWRP, backup, flash ROM', and trust me, that one was "revived" many times.
In the end, if even that doesn't help, flash CWM from Freegee, and update it with Philz Touch for E980. I think it will support Lollipop ROMs without any issues, just don't ever boot directly into it if you're not ready to mess with dd from recovery mode - always use adb.

This device was one of the hardest devices to work with... and I had Note N7000 with bad MMC which nearly bricked five times running unrooted stock firmwares Samsung provided. And Tegra-based Galaxy S2 clone with many hardware and software issues on stock... And many nameless devices with chips made by "big" vendors, like Allwinner, Rockchip etc which got some older CyanogenMod version builds with some or even complete success... And I never, never had that much issues porting stuff to any of these above, as I had with G Pro. Heck, working on a overclocking and underclocking for G Pro took me nearly two months of coding, testing, scratching everything off and starting from the beginning to just get it to some functional level and make it work as intended... and when I look at that code, I still have a feeling that it isn't completed and that some fixes are still necessary. I won't even start with GPU issues, I've spent more time than I'd like to admit on patching sessions.

I use SlimLP for a long time because it's the only one that works smoothly for me. You might not have any trouble flashing it Through the latest TWRP.
Have fun!
