And Replave stat_sys_signal_null_sim1/2 with a blank Image in Systemui.apk

1)Apktool is the easiest way to go
2)SystemUI.apk is in /system/app while framework-res.apk is in /system/framework
3)You need to be rooted

you have them to put manually to the "drawable-hdpi" folder in your twframework.apk
I integrated this in my theme,too.

use rootexplorer to copy your twframework.apk to your phne's sd card.then copy it to your pc and open it using winrar or winzip.then replace the corresponding files in the folder "drawable-hdpi" with the provided ones.then copy the twframework.apk back on your sd card and then to system/app using rootexplorer.
rename your twframework.apk to twframework.apk.bak first to have a backup.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'get', but the files are located in /system/app/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi
Use WinRAR (or similar software) to open the SystemUI.apk

Bt all that file dont exist in my systemui app...

so if you have a systemui which doesn't include these bars, probably the images are still there, only the layout files were changed. go to systemui.apk/res/layout and edit quickpanel_quick_settings.xml (find a theme which has these bars, even stock, and you can replace this file or you can find what's missing)
to edit xmls, you need to decompile the apk, winrar is not enough, since xmls are coded and you need to decode them with decompiling
(on froyo you might find it in framework-res.apk, or if the files don't exist in systemui, which i doubt, you can find tutorials here on xda how to add resources to an apk)

How to build apps icon pack:
Things you require:
-Base VRTheme-Here!(Don't worry there are no trojans)
-Some icons-Here are my AOSP icons.
-Required apps from the ROM which you want to modify.
-Notepad++ for changing updater-script.
-Any resizing tool.
-A brain to avoid mistakes and bother me with stupid questions.
-Kindness to press the THANKS button below.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Steps:
1. Download all the things required.
2. Open your ROM and copy all the apps and move them to a seperate folder. Here we will take only 3 apps-Browser, Messaging and Calculator.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. Now extract these apps using 7zip or winrar.
4. Now open the app folder, go to res and find the location where the icon of the app is present. These are generally present in mipmap-xhdpi or drawable-xhdpi. For e.g. in Browser app it's present in mipmap-xhdpi named as ic_launcher_browser.png:
5. Now extract the VRTheme base folder and go to vrtheme->system->app and make a new folder their with named as appname.apk(Here appname refers to the name of the app). For e.g. Browser.apk in my case.
6. Now make res folder in it. And under res folder make another folder which contains app icon. For e.g res->mipmap-xhdpi in my case:
7. Now place your modified icon in it and rename it to the original icon name. For e.g. ic_launcher_browser.png in my case. And resize it to 96X96. Please do not resize mdpi or hdpi icons or else they will pixelize and blur.
8. Do the same for other apps. In my case calculator and messaging.
9. Now give this icon pack your name. Go to META-INF->com->google->android and open updater-script with notepad++ and in second line replace alokbina with your name. You can practically change almost everything under ui_print in updater-script but remember that it should be in the format ui_print("ABCD"); . Here replace ABCD with whatever you like.
10. Now you will be having 4 folders- data, META-INF, system, vrtheme and an image named as preview. Zip all these and rename it whatever you like and flash it with CWM and you're done! Enjoy your own icon pack Feel free to THANK me :laugh:

[Q][SOLVED] Custom Text in Status Bar

I've looked through threads on here and google of course but can't seem to find a simple application that enables you to put custom text in the status bar of my Xperia. I've seen a lot of apps that allow you to change the text in the pull down menu of the status bar.
Now I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358089
which is exactly what I'm looking for yet I'm having problems using the tool (tickle my android). In fact I've always had problems connecting my Xperia S through USB debug and getting it to work correctly.
Question: On the iPhone you are able to jailbreak it an download an app that enables you to add custom carrier text to the status bar quiet easy. Is such an apk available for android?
Phone Details:
Xperia S LT26i

what exactly do you mean
if you mean custom fonts then that can be found in the system, you can change them but may cause a bootloop
if yoh ment custom carier label then you need to decompile the systemUi and edit the strings
Sent from my LT26i using XDA Premium HD app
android is not like an ios. it's not that easy to work with customization.
In MIUI you can change the carrier label using MIUIspnconfig.apk .... Maybe it will work with stock rom...

But yes, I've heard you have to decompile systemui.apk. I managed to pull it from my device and attempted to decompile it with tickle my android but for some reason wasn't able to decompile it. It allowed me to select SystemUK.apk, then when hitting enter to decompile it give me an error.

I've been with XDA for a while now and noticed that, Android is a bit more of a challenge than iOS. :laugh:
Try this
I suggest looking up the requirements for Apktool or what ever you used to decompile , just check that everythign is installed
aswell as ensure that your Framework-res.apk is installed and your UxpGeneric(blah forgot the name) is also installed
useful (with apktool)
frameworks can be installed using apktool if "NAME"
framwork files are necisary to decompiling and recompiling apk files ,

Hi,
This is a great tutorial to understand how to move stuff on the status bar - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1767593
In the "Best Method", it is mentioned - HERE GOES ALL THE CODES FOR THE ITEMS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STATUSBAR
Once you understand how to do it, all you have to do is add a TextView element to the left part of the status bar, with the proper attributes and recompile the apk. Then copy META-INF and Android Manifest.xml from the original apk to the modified apk. That should do it
Good luck.

what name do we use for the zip ? We used to name it " com.android.settings.zip " in KitKat . Will it need root to apply ? Also , the only thing I change is drawables and I leave EVERY SINGLE FILE untouched in the zip ( Converted from apk to zip ) and I get force close . Has anyone tried this ?
If yes , what were the results ?? If someone has accompished that , please tell the way to do it , I will appreciate it very much :fingers-crossed:
Thanks
YOu should decompile with baskmali Settings.apk and make the changes you want and recompile again. Cheers

oke is cool and sure just send me the apk files !
It is not possible to change these icons by using Themes and theme engine in Lollipop
I can see where you're coming from, those icons look very gross xD i love how in CyanogenMod you can change the look and feel of everything without brains but it drains to much battery..... Ive seen people modify certain things and im quite good in Photoshop just have no idea about what goes into the coding, how to decompile and recompile and sign the app so it runs etc..... Hard to find anything simple on how to do this sort of stuff takes knowledge in coding to do this ****.... Lol, would be really good if some one made a step by step tutorial on how to modify apps like theming google keyboard to red and black etc etc...
hi, Im trying to do something 'similar' to you, Im trying to add/edit just the text on them (I do that in the XML but when I put it back in /system/priv-app/Settings/Settings.apk i lose access to the Settings in the phone)
Did you manage to change something ?

Did you make the right mods, just because an apk builds without errors doesn't mean there won't be any, so if you've signed the apk correctly then that would suggest the edits you've made have broke the apk somehow.

Then copy it to ur apktool main folder
Now type:
apktool if framework-res.apk
apktool if semc-genericuxp.apk
apktool d -f settings.apk
Done, now without any errors

Did you make the right mods, just because an apk builds without errors doesn't mean there won't be any, so if you've signed the apk correctly then that would suggest the edits you've made have broke the apk somehow.

thank you for the reply, after I readed your post I went redo all again but this time make no changes at all (just push the Settings.apk in my pc, descompile it, recompile it, and take it to the phone again), and it happens the same :S
Im doing this:
adb pull /system/app/Settings.apk
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
java -jar apktool.jar if framework-res.apk
java -jar apktool.jar d -s Settings.apk
adb push Settings/dist/Settings.apk /sdcard/
(then I use ZipSigner and choose 'plataform' on his option)
...after I put it in the sdcard and I copy it to /system-priv/Settings/Settings.apk and set the permissions to the sames of the original file.
Can the my procedure causing the problem ?

There's a few extra steps first before using the new apk. See HERE, especially the section about signing.
