[Q] Microphone icon is Disabled on Ion keyboard?? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Hello,
I own a Sony Xperia Ion running Android 4.0.3 and I am not able to enable the Microphone Icon in the default keyboard of my phone.
I have done almost everything from enabling the checkbox in
Settings-->Language & input-->Xperia Keyboard-->Google Voice typing Key.
Still I can only see the icon in the keyboard (beside spacebar) but it is in disabled state. Clicking on it does not help either. Please help. Am I missing something here?
Regards
Maneesh
P.S. I have posted this question in the below forums too but still waiting a solution.

if you could provide a screenshot...that would be amazing

[Q] Remove Sense Vertical slide gesture (not htclockscreen)

Hello.
I've been searching the web to solve this issue but didn't find anything consistent.
I removed HtcLockscreen.apk to use vanilla lockscreen and htcdialer to use dialerone plus standard phone instead. Everything Works pretty fine except when the phone is in standby mode or when the lock screen is active:
I don't know how since i removed htclockscreen but the htc Vertical slidebar (the same as htclockscreen) to answer/dismiss calls activates!
The only way to get stock froyo answer/dismiss calls interface is when the phone is on (not in stanby or in lockscreen mode).
I tried to remove rosie.apk but it didn't solve the issue.
Can anyone help me to definitely get rid of this htcslidebar?
Regards
Moved to Q&A as not development
Really no idea?
There must be someone knowing about sense interface module.
maybe this thread can help?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686567
Thank you very much for the link but concerning my question it's not a matter of lockscreen since i already removed Htclockscreen what is sufficient to use default vanilla lockscreen. I 'd like to understand why i still have Htc_slidebar when i answer/dismiss calls having removed the Htclockscreen.

[Q] Lock screen sound gone in 4.0?

For the life of me, I can't seem to find how to activate the screen off sound. I have the crt anim from the update .368 and settings option for screen sound unlock is ticked. Screen unlock has sound but screen off/lock does not work. Anyone?

"Screen off and lock" works fine with me. I always use this app since the power botton a little hard to push.

Just a gentle reminder: Try to answer directly to the questions posted and not your suggestion to a different application or what you do when someone is having issue.

I use that in my x10 mini but still it does not work with the 4.0 update for arc. And I would like to limit installing apps just for simple things.

Actually I don't know what is stock anymore. Hahaha! Too much mod. I guess I got it from crt anim mod from apps and themes section.
The lock.ogg and unlock.ogg files are present in the /system/media/sounds/ui so i think it should be working as stock in 4.0?
I will answer my own question for the sake of the community.
SE somehow changed the default locked.ogg to a dummy sound, no sound actually. Then changed the framework in settings menu to show only unlock sound will be activated. I fixed it by replacing the default locked.ogg to a different one. You can use unlocked.ogg. Just back it up somewhere then rename to locked.ogg and replace. They are located in /system/media/sounds/ui
Sorry, I misunderstood the meaning 'screen off/lock'. Sorry again because English is not my native language.

[Q] switching IME?

hi,
i finally decided to bite the bullet and installed ice cream sandwich (virtuous quattro rc2 with the wifi fix kernel). everything is ok, except for one thing: switching IMEs.
i know that in ICS you don't long press on text fields anymore; instead there is an keyboard icon that appears in the notification bar that lets you pick your ime.
as it stands right now, that icon in the notification bar doesn't appear. i have to manually go to the settings page and switch the default IME. i need to use multiple keyboards and not having a quick way to switch makes using the device impossible.
is there something i have to do to get that icon to appear? when i tap a text field to start entering text, the keyboard i have selected as default appears, but there is no way to change the IME because there is no icon in the notification bar.
can anyone help me?
thanks!
man i must be blind. upon combing the settings a third time, there was an option i missed in the quattro control panel "enable ime switcher".
can a mod delete this thread?
thanks!
its still a release candidate u may find a lot of missing stuff wait for the dev to fully finishing this project then if the prob still the same u cant tell them

[Q] HellKat Rom (&Cyanogen) Questions

Hello guys!
New to (posting in) the forum so unfortunately I cant post this in the developers topic
But I'm hoping someone could help answer a few questions for me
I finally got around to rooting/unlocking/rom-ing my Koodo T989D
Decided to give Hellkat a try as my first custom rom, and so far it is a huge improvement over JB
So many little annoyances now solved
However with that there are a few things that have cropped up that I'd like to change if possible
First is probably the most important thing,
having used stock Samsung android for the last few years, I grew very accustomed to being able to swipe left and right over contacts in order to text/call them, probably my favourite feature really
I understand that samsungs dialer/contact app are very intergrated into touchwiz but thought I'd ask if anyone knew a dialer that works well and has this feature that I could try out?
Second is the camera, I know recently that stock google camera apps have gone to a very 'clean' interface
however when I am trying to take a picture randomly, I find it far easier to change useful settings if they are shown constantly overlayed over the image (as opposed to pop-ups)
one thing I was impressed with by samsung was their camera apps customizable settings buttons (allowing choice in where and what to display)
Can someone recommend a camera app that has settings overlays or better yet that allow customizable settings buttons?
Third is more specific to the HellKat rom I think..
I've noticed when texting that if I go back to change a word (spelling check) it comes up with a pop-up with a few suggestions and also the option to add to dictionary
However suggestions also pop up in the suggestion bar above the keyboard
I would prefer to only have the suggestion bar, and to not have the pop-up at all
I have tried turning off the 'Spell checker' option in input settings but then neither show up
Is there a way to turn off the pop-up? or will installing google keyboard get rid of it?
Fourth is that I found when typing a recipient number into a new text, in 'Hellkat dark theme' the font is black on black so that you are unable to see the numbers you are typing
not a huge issue but maybe someone can let the developer know
Fifth is just that I am wondering if there is a 'lockscreen widget' (like the one for the camera) that is a dialer screen to place a call from the lockscreen
Thanks to whoever responds and I understand if you are not able to answer some of these, any help is graciously accepted
Will try to provide any additional info needed
Thanks!

P.S. pic is the spell check pop-up i'd like to remove!

did you update it thru the rom today? it popped up saying there was an update but not sure if i should mess with it since it took alot to get this thing running smooth haha
if you mean connecting to the external and internal sd cards with USB thru the computer then yes thats working fine (just checked)
for now i have just disabled "spell check"
i still get suggestions above keyboard but no longer the pop-up when you select the word
unfortunately you also lose the underlining of misspelled words
added this as a lockscreen widget and it seems to work very well so far
Simple Dialer Widget

[Q] [Xperia M C1905] Notification tile settings possible on 4.3?

Is it possible to install/use notification flip settings introduced in Android 4.2 on the Xperia M?
I've searched the internets but couldn't find any answer.
I tried using Gravity Box but even though I use the Master Switch and
reboot there are still no flip settings available.
I've also tried the Xperia Flip Settings module but still nothing happened after reboot.
So,anyone has an idea on how to do this?
One of the reasons I updated to the latest Jelly Bean 4.3
was this and I m really disappointed.

I have Xperia M Dual.
I use Xperia Filp Settings + Gravity box to get AOSP Tiles. It works perfectly for me.
XFS Enables the tiles while GB Adds them.
Which ROM?
EDIT
I did manage to get it to work somehow by disabling it,rebooting, enabling it and rebooting again.
The thing is that Viber's persistent notification allows me to use the flip settings window only by quick expanding it from the far right corner of the status bar and of course I cannot flip between the default notificationsystem window and the one with the tiles.I suspect this is missing by design though...

The quick setting tiles will not be shown on the default notification panel.
You have 4 different options to open it.
1. Extreme right or left shortcut as u did.
2. Two finger swipe from status bar.
3. Default setup so that if theres no notification then the quick settings tiles will be vissible when u swipe down(will not work for you as you have viber's ongoing notification)
4. Pull down the notification panel n then swipe the bottom bar from left to right or vice versa.
I hope this much information will be helpful to you.

on the newly released Xperia M 4.3 ROM, is it possible to customize the displayed quick settings buttons?
did anyone succeed this? is there an application or patch possible? or will Sony release an update for this?
thanks in advance
