Phone starting to forget account selections - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Recently my phone has started to forget account defaults, specifically in youtube. I will watch a video in to morning with no problem, then try again at night and it acts like I have never opened it before, asking me to select between the two Gmail accounts I have. It has come up occasionally on other apps like Google currents, and it has persisted between roms. It started on skynote 8 a while ago after maybe a month of usage, I thought nothing of it after switching to clean rom 4.5 (just trying out different roms). It started to happen again after about a month again. Between these two rom switches I wiped everything possible because I was attempting to clear up other weird problems. I wiped the usual (cache, system, data) as well as formatting my microsd card in the Android system.
I have not been able to find a correlation to an app install or any setting change, if anyone else can shed some light on this I would be grateful, if not I will flash back to stock and see if it happens again, then I will take the issue to ATT.
Thanks!

One other thing I forgot that also broke was the accelerometer. It just failed to give any values. After switching roms it came back. I dont see how this would happen, again no correlation to an app or mod, in fact I hadnt flashed anything other than skynote.

Just going to guess. Do you have this app that Google forced on us?

It just shows up after downloading something from the playstore.
I have no idea why.

Calendar force close issues

I have been experiencing this very strange issue. I keep getting Force close warnings pop up whenever I use my phone, I don't do anything in particular and it just pops up. I've started getting this error all the time ever since I got the 4.0.4 update a few weeks back. I don't know whether it is an app that causes it but I have no calendar app installed or anything I feel interferes with the calendar. I am attaching some screenshots of the problem I am seeing with some details on the error:

I would appreciate any help I can get on this. I am using the stock image from Google (unrooted) but bootloader unlocked. I've tried wiping the phone and starting fresh but to no avail. I've wiped cache, dalvik etc... but still same issue. I am on 4.0.4 (IMM76I).
I similarly experienced the same issue, I realized though for me it was my launcher pro app. I'm running a rooted GNex with 4.0.4 on the Gummy Rom. I fixed the problem by using another launcher, more specifically GO Launcher. I was trying to put my work calendar (Microsoft Exchange) and my google calendar in the same place (Launcher Pro gave me this capability with their calendar widget), but I was unable to use Launcher Pro anymore due to the fact that there was no development for it anymore. Anyway, if you try maybe switching launchers? I'm not really sure though.
Thanks for your input. I use the default stock ICS launcher. I have a feeling an application may be to blame but I can't think of anything that would interfere with my calendar. I'll have to try and remove one app at a time to find the trouble maker.

Upgraded to 4.3 and now notif tray gets ghost notifiers??

I'm hoping someone knows what's going on here and can help asap...
I upgraded my Sprint SGS3 using Samsung Keis the other day and all seems well, except this one big issue. Randomly (it seems whenever I get a notification, or the connection state changes, or I plug into power)the notification bar fills up with the "Download Complete" msgs. This is an issue because I can't see legit notifications in the bar, and/or I have to scroll to the bottom to see anything.
These file names *ARE* for files I had downloaded in the past, but not since well before the upgrade. I have gone so far as to delete the 'Downloads' folder altogether, no dice. Also, it isn't actually downloading the files again, just saying it did...
Any idea how I can stop this? Rebooting the phone is not helping at all. Is there maybe a cache somewhere I can clear that would help? This is a new SGS3 (replacement), so I just got finished resetting up my layout and all my apps and stuff, so I would **REALLY** like to avoid wiping it to factory...
Any help is appreciated. Thank You... :good:

Happened to me too, I think I fixed it by clearing data on download manager. If that doesn't do it try clearing data on Play store (not play services).
My wife has exact problem on hers.
Edit; clearing old downloads WORKS! Thx.

Yup, cleaning the downloads did it! Thank you, Sir! Much appreciated... :good::cyclops:

Browser issue on more than one ROM?

I've tried slimkat stable 6 and cm 11 m8 and I'm getting the same browser error on both ROMs. For each install I formatted every single partition and did a clean install through adb push. I've asked on both forums and nobody has an answer, and this issue prevents me from opening gmail thumbnails or viewing images. I heard it had something to do with SSL? I tried disabling browser, reenabling, clearing data, rebooting etc etc but nothing is working! Could someone please help?

Dont know if I can help much as im not very familiar with cm. But have you tried an alternative browser from the play store? Does it happen on mobile data and wifi?
Id flash the stock firmware via Odin and test there. If it still happens then, its probably not the rom, but more likely to be a network problem.
I'm using a different browser, they work fine but apps like gmail use the stock browser to view images and such.
Im not real sure then....Hopefully someone who knows cm better than me will have some thoughts to share.
I did see another user with a similar problem earlier. I think it was in the AT&T forums. If I find it again ill post the link so you can monitor that thread for help too.
Heres the thread I mentioned earlier.

No answers there yet either, but hopefully if a solution is found there it'll help you here as well.
Its not the exact same error, but seems to be similar enough to watch. Hope it ends up helping...

M8S - Massive data dlownloads from Google Play Services

Hi guys,
I hope someone here can help me figure out a solution to this problem. It seems that every time I switch on my data (4G, 3G, etc.) Google Play Services suddenly kicks into overdrive and downloads an insane amount of data for no reason that I can figure out.
My first indication this was happening was when my mobile operator turned off my data a few days after getting the phone because I had already hit my monthly limit (3GB)! I switched off my data until my new bill arrived and when I turned it back on again on the 14th of this month, it started happening again. I went into settings and selected "restrict background data" and this stopped it, but my phone wasn't working as I expected it, as I'm sure you can imagine. Over the previous weekend, I was staying at a B&B. I turned on data for an hour and unselected "restrict background data" so I could use the phone like normal. I left the phone down for that hour doing nothing before I remembered I left data on (the horror!) and discovered it downloaded a further 300-odd MB's in that time.
I've attached some screens for you to look at. This is a new phone, but this behavior is totally alien to me. Can anyone help?

RESOLVED:
Called HTC Support and they were as surprised as anyone would be. They reluctantly decided that the best, even though the most primative, form of action here would be Factory Reset.
It worked, so I'm glad I have my phone working as it should now.

Weird camera fail on HTC M8

Hi,
I have this M8 as a "testing phone" and I have changed roms time to time testing new android versions etc. In past months I have tested few roms, mainly android 11 and 10 versions. Found some things on them that didn't liked so I installed GPE MM back yesterday and them suddenly realized that camera won't work. I mean it won't start at all, it just says as in that picture. When I factory reset/wiped and installed new, not Sense, rom that whole cam app isn't even visible on app list in drawer or in desktop. But it can be found via settings/apps. And while I try to open it for example via gallery it says something like "can't connect to camera".
Then I wiped again and installed back that original MM rom and that camera icon exists again but it won't start but says still like in picture.
So do I have a situation that some camera chip etc or mainboard has suddenly failed without any reason or could this be software problem anymore since that cam won't do anything or even start with any rom?
I haven't dropped the phone or opened for a long time, I haven't even taken much pics with that m8 so it's quite weird thing. I have done factory reset while changing the rom and sometimes wiped cache, dalvik/art cache and data partitions. Twrp version is 3.3.1-3 it matters.

Try installing the camera application itself, this is how I got the camera to work
