[Q] Stock Jelly Bean Camera - LG Optimus G (International)

Hi.
I'm amazed with lgog features, but I want to use stock jelly bean 4.2 camera(like on nexus 4) as my default camera. But no apk from different devices with different firmwares is working on my E975!
I'm on stock jb. Please, help me to install camera app!
Ps. When I install any gallery2.apk and push some files into system/libs gallery works fine, but camera app doesn't launch.

Does anyone have an answer?

No you can't.camera is not just the gallery.apk, but framework too.so it will never work a 4.2 apk on an a 4.1.2 framework, not without modding that apk.
Also don't forget nexus 4 has 8mpx camera,whule the 975 has 13mpx.so stop trying.

But you know, there is a port from 4.2 to 4.1 which includes some lib files that you should copy to /system/lib. I've tried this method too, but it didn't work for me. Anyway, thanks for your reply

This mod helps out the quality of the stock 4.1.2 camera, but doesn't add any of the features of the 4.2 camera. Its better than nothing, better than stock, and retains 13mp integrity.

After much work, here's a fully working app.
Tested on the Galaxy S2 GT-I9100. (Also suitable for the International Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note)
Just flash the attached ZIP file Camera_4.2_GT-I9100-rishtrix.zip
This does not require copying of files to system libraries, editing and setting permissions. Its Simple, JUST FLASH it !!
Obviously, this requires a deodexed rooted phone with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 and up
Flash the file via Recovery.
Hit the THANKS button if you like my Post. and let me know in case of any issues.
Works in CM10 (4.1.2) ?

Yes this should work on CM10 - 4.1.2
It will not replace the original app. It will create another camera app and another gallery app.
The best part is you can use whichever you want.

Yes at the moment video recording is a bit of an issue.
But since it creates a separate camera app, you can always use the stock camera for video recording and this one for Photosphere and Gallery Editing.
At least Photosphere now easily works on Galaxy S2 !!!
Hit the THANKS button if you like my post.
Doesn't work for me, photosphere works partially, it is discalibrated, can't hit blue point.
Any solution?

This should work if flashed correctly. It requires the use of the gyroscope.
Check if thats working fine and calibrate your device.
As of now, it has been tested on Galaxy S2 and works fine for many users. Which device are you using ?

CM10 Camera Issue

Ok, I've commented about this several times in the CM10 Discussion thread and nobody seems to give a rat's bum...
When I take a picture, the EXIF info is saved as December 2008.
There are not much differences from ics 4.0.4 to jellybean 4.1.2 so i prefer to use stock rom which has less bugs
I'm using hono stock cwm flashbale v20c
I need help to port or add qmemo app from v20f bell rom to v20c at&t
And i wana add it to quick setting menu to be able make screenshot.
I did ask it in a new topic before with no result and success !
You are a developer and i used your rom liquid nitro ,Can you add it to quick setting menu ?

Why not just run v20f? Once you put in the APN info it runs just fine with AT&T and with the additional tweeks it offers better battery life and a newer improved Adreno driver plus it offers the quickmemo you love its a win win for you.

Vibration on key press are too strong??
Does anyone feels that the vibration when hitting the "menu, search, back" buttons in CM10 is to strong??
Is there any way to reduce the vibration feedback?

You can extract them from the .zip of the rom you are using or a basic CM10 if you are using camera 4.1, if using 4.2 you are gonna have to find the complete package that comes with the lib, look for the thread called "android 4.1 to 4.2" and extract them from its package or extract them from a CM10.1 package (not sure that works tho, used the android 4.1 to 4.2 package in my case)
As for the files, you need to extract:
In the zip, they are in system/lib and are named libjni_filtershow_filters.so libjni_latinimegoogle.so libjni_mosaic.so and liblightcycle.so
Once you extracted the files, (backup or rename the old files 1st) copy them to your phone's system/lib using a root explorer (es or root explorer w.e you like to use) and make sure to change the files persmissions to r-r-rw and reboot your phone.
If that doesnt work, l really dont know ...

You can't just rip the .apk and put it in, you'll need the corresponding libs.

The ROM, it's a CM feature after all, it'll only work with CM's Gallery2.apk I suppose.
Plenty of hdr apps, way easier..

Here's my 1st shot at it. Usual disclaimer applies, if this nukes your phone, you are on your own!
https://www.box.com/s/t05n84s17mv0qmj6pfke
I flashed this on JBSourcery, and i had an HDR option, as well as extended options from original camera. It looks like you lose photosphere tho. Which I use more of. I haven't booted CM 10.1 before so I don't know what it looks like.
Happy Flashing
I just tried CM 10.1 latest nightly's Gallery2.apk, I knew it won't work, but just in case I tried it!
result: "I don't remember... has stopped"
So it won't work!
Using CM's camera lib files will cause "boot loop".
Btw. because JB 4.2.2 CM10.1 is new CM devs have to fix HDR things on the camera so there is no sense to try port it to stock ROMs yet..
well, the zip i posted booted for me on JBSourcery 4.5.6. it has the gallery2.apk + camera libs. If it's not booting, then I will pull it down.

Not only apk and libs but the framework itself needs to be modded, because of powerbutton shutter, if you rom already supports it its a win, if not
it wont work... for example aospa wont work with it, unless someone kangs it into the rom

This zip doesn't have the usual scripts and path structure that comes with those who are supposed to be flashed from recovery.
I'm not stating anything "for" or "against", but are you sure this one is really supposed to be flashed "as is"?

[Request] Motorola KitKat camera and gallery

Hi, since I started using custom ROMs I've lost the ability to do HDR photos and the picture quality dropped. When I use the original 4.1.2 Motorola camera extracted from the OTA everything works fine exept it always crashes after the first photo. Could someone please extract the Mootorola KitKat 4.4.2 camera/gallery from the OTA so that we could try to install it in our custom ROMs?
Thanks in advance!
To whom it may concern...
Here are the Kit Kat Moto Camera and Gallery apk extracted from the KK 183.46.10 build. My idea was to install them in the CM11 ROM to retrieve a working HDR and better photos, but now I'm testing the official Kit Kat OTA so I haven't tested them on a custom ROM to see if they works.
If you want to experiment, here they are!
UPDATE: I've added the Camera APK (Motorola Camera v4.4.2-15_19.apk) extracted from the latest official KitKat build (183.46.15). I don't think the changed anything, based on the changelog and file dimension, but if you want to try here they are!
ps: the gallery version remained unchanged between 183.46.10 and 183.46.15!
Where did you get those from? I'm on 4.1.2 and could install the camera with success; couldn't find any differences though

Is Carbon still based on JB kernel (3.0) or is jumped on the KK 3.4 kernel?
In the past I tried to use the original Moto JB camera in a Cyanogenmod 10.2 ROM: it worked at the time, but after every shot che app crashed. I changed the signature of the APK to install it as a system app,but that didn't solve the issue. Anyway, the HDR function was ok, panorama too and the normal shots were really good!
All the other camera apps that I have tried (Focal, Google Camera, Moto X camera, HTC camera) missed HDR or produced blurried images. Even the normal shots were far worse than with the Moto camera, so since then I started searching for a solution.
I hope the KK Moto camera will work on the KK based CM11...
Yes still on kernel 3.0

Yes, the stock camera works real good but to fix the crashes I think we'll have to export the permissions and libraries too... Right now I'm using the Motorola Camera from the Moto E, thanks to ATTAK:

By the way, I've uploaded the latest version of the original Razr M KitKat Camera (see post 2)!

I've been enjoying this camera too.
There's also a way to update to even more current version (though not the latest).
Use the moto g 2014 stock camera.apk and it will update ATTAK's file no problem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/how-to-unlock-advanced-camera-settings-t2884035
1. From that link, download the Moto G 2nd Gen. (2014) 4.4.4 Stock Camera app
2. Install/Update
3. Optional: Follow the directions on editing build.prop to show hidden menu settings from the camera app (a lady bug icon at bottom right will appear, pretty cool). BE SURE TO BACK UP build.prop.
Also, the above tweak fixes slow-mo video issue. Everything works flawlessly.

The JB version has been extracted from the original Motorola JB ROM, the other one from the KK ROM. They are pretty identical, you just have to choose the correct one for you depending if you are on JB or KK Bootloader (this means that if you are using a KK ROM on a JB Bootloader like the CM11 JBBL, you'll have to choose the KK one).
