[Q] SURVEY: What topic that you think is more interesting? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi guys,
Yesterday, i asked your help to give me some ideas for my website project. I know that it was pretty confusing for all of you here. So i want to make it simple this time. That's why i created this survey.
Could you all please spend some minutes to fill this survey. This is really important for me. I really appreciate your helps here. Really.
You can answer the questions of my survey on this survei1346254.blogspot.com
I really hope you all can help me answer this survey. Your feedback is like a goldmine for me.
Thanks,

"thank you" threads

hi admins and mods,
the xda-developers is the best ppc site I know! everything you need, you can find here!
one idea for the future:
when a new rom is released or a new extention, then everyone writes "thanks" or "that i missed in my ppc"... I think you know what I mean. The problem is, that when you will open such a thread an look for problems which people have with this rom/extention, then you have to read more than 50 times "thanks" and nothing more and between this threads are the important threads with problems and and ideas for improvements.
so why you don't try the "thank you hack"?
for example this one:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92410
i hope you will think about it and some other users have the same opinion like I have.
greets
komodor86
I second that.
It definitely will help in reducing all the clutter around here and get so much more easier to get the info we're all looking for.
That seems a very good idea.
and what is the opinion of other users?
i love it ...
thank you for it

Excalibur wiki

I've been trying to spelunk through the posts here and put all the salient information in some sort of organized form on the wiki. Hopefully it'll give newcomers and lurkers a good starting point. Also, it should help eliminate some arrogant "we've answered this a thousand times" responses from regulars. In the absence of a good team of moderators, hopefully it will help out.
Check it out here: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Excalibur
nice work
Thanks, this will help a lot of people.
Good work!
Cheers.

Kudos!
I think that's a great idea! Keep conversations in the forums that reference a wiki of key information.
Just wanted to say...
Good job. I'm glad someone decided to do this. Keep the posts up to date, that's the only way this thing is even slightly useful. So far, so good, though.
I'll help if you want. Just let me know what to do. Take it easy bro.
P.S. In reference to your message to me the other day. Did you notice the calendar and the clock. Both say something special on the time and dates.
LOL!

There have been way too many responses here lately that were less than civil to someone looking for help, as if editing a registry key is arcane knowledge that should only be held by a lofty elite. Also, there were plenty of repeat questions that may have been answered 30 pages or so down in the forum. I will tell you that the default google search of the forum is unwise and really doesn't help unless you word things very carefully. At least the "advanced" search lets you limit your search to a particular device's forum. But it's not readily obvious that the text telling you to use it is actually a link.
So, I went back to the beginning of this year to pull stuff out of forum posts for the wiki. I'm sure there was more further back, but I just didn't have the patience to cut through all the crap.
And have at it, brother. It's the community's wiki. I just figured it was time someone "seeded" it.
Sorry for the bump. Just wanted everyone to know that the wiki is being regularly updated now and most, if not all, of the frequently asked questions are there. A wealth of information has been added and some of the areas (like CHome Weather) now have their own pages.
I'm inviting everyone to help keep this up-to-date. I'll be trying to pretty it up and keep everything in some sort of unified style. If you notice anything is missing or needs to be updated, please update it. If you're uncomfortable doing that, just let me know and I'll get right on it.

Great Work, Brother.
If you noticed, I now have everything in the stickied thread and will be updating it. That way, people won't have to click a link each time because I know some people are just lazy and would rather have everything in one place.
Your an important addition to this community. Thanks once again.

Introducing Forum Specific Mod

Hello, I'm reinbeau, and I am honored to have been appointed Forum Moderator for the Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking subforum. I'm here to help you and I expect the same from all of you. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
I've been on xda-developers for over a year now, mostly visiting the Captivate forums and supporting where I can with the knowledge I've gathered on this great site. I've learned a lot here, hopefully I can share some of that knowledge - and learn more!
If you have any issues you need help with, please feel free to contact me through PM, or report the post by using the "!" button in the post.
Also, I will be doing some forum maintenance (combining threads regarding the same topics, moving threads or posts to proper sections and closing off-topic threads) to make it easier to find information here.

I am new to the forum world but my husband is an expert. I have a question that I have been searching google and every other search engine before I posted this. My husband and I have the same phone (bought at the same time) and it is a mytouch 3G 3.5mm Jack. He received the froyo 2.2.1 Android update for his phone a couple of days ago. I have yet to receive mine and I wanted to know if there is any way for me to manually update mine so I don't have to wait for the OTA update?
Thanks for the help and letting me join this forum,
Ashley

Hi, I've been nosing around here for a couple of months and thought I might need to admit to someone that I am addicted to this site and modding my Captivate. I really enjoy learning new things about my phone.
My Device: Samsung Captivate i897 running Dilli's Rom 5.6, Blue theme, and lovin every minute of it!

Apologies from Brudis1

Hey guys, brudis1 here. it has been brought to my attention by a good friend that I may have offended some or all of the members of this forum due to my choice of words when I asked about security in an earlier thread. I would like to appologize to anyone that I may have offended by my question... it was not my intention to offend, disrespect, and surely not to accuse anyone, I'm just a newb at all this stuff and really excited about my new evo and all the really cool things I would like to do with it...I really appreciate all the help that I've recieved thus far and only ment to ask the security question in a genaral sense... I know that there are tons of "Awesome" developers on this forum and I can only dream of learning how to do some of the things I've seen you guys do..So to all the developers that get a change to read this; I appologize with great humbleness for putting my foot in my mouth. I know all of you put in a great deal of work on helping folks out like who obviously don't know a *#@%& thing about this type of community... so Flame me or whatever you guys call it (I deserve it man!) but I would still like to recieve whatever type of helpful pointers anyone would like to provide.
Thanks

[PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTINg]Bada Q&A

Hey People,
If you want an answer to your questions, Please stop creating new threads . You can post all your Questions here and the Senior Members,Mods and other admins will revert to you with the answer. This reduces the amount of threads created and keeps the development area clean. Let the DEV. area only consist of hacks, mods, fixes, roms and other things. Let all the question and answer go in here!
Let it me say so, this is a international Forum to "HELP" other people with their problems, i am not disturbet of answering the same thing 100 times if someone needs my help, i am here to help,
and serious devs are chatting privately if they need quick contact not over posting in a forum...
I think it is a little bit unfair for newcomers cause they must learn things that senior members know here, and shouldn't we not help such people?
I am here to help as you all call them "noobs" and such people are for me the importants, users that only critizise them don't help the devs or even the newcomers. If everyone would help here such people we would have less problems and it is normal to not use the search, i am also not using it^^
No critic against you, i only want to write here my statement, for what this forum is made, to discuss problems and to help others to solve them, forbidding postins in dev area i don't want.
Everybody who has million times the same question in MY topics in dev area is welcome, every user i will try to help, if someone have questions to my apps, i will answer them a million time if needet.
By the way the possible answers are not suited for people against your thinking. so it is for me useless, make fair ratings so that users can use the answer they realy want or me as a dev.
And remember always:
WITHOUT THIS USERS WE DEVS ARE NOTHING!!!
Thank you.

I also agree to this. But just that, the questions and answers week be at one place and users or new users need not search the forum. They can jump to this thread and search for the answer. Also, it avoids creation of un necessary threads.
Search the development area will show up some developmental results, and hence the user might not find the exact results expected.
