Different cables? Connecting directly to motherboard USB port and not some USB hub/front case USB port? Does the OS recognize the device (device manager on Windows, 'lsusb' on Linux)?

N7100 USB Issue

Recently my phone stopped being detected by my PC when connected by USB however it still charges. I have tried using a different PC, different USB, wipe Rom and even use a different rom with no success. Drivers are installed so they shouldn't be the cause of this. Does anyone have a solution for what I'm facing ? Any help would be appreciated
I have seen few cases when USB port of device is faulty, it can be charge but can't connect (recognize by PC)
Do clean it carefully OR contact service centre.
Open device manager. See if there is any unknown device like samsung_android. Try downloading toolkit and run usbdeview which is inside drivers folder. See if there is any device Id shown on the port you connect to.

I'm starting to think it's an issue with the USB (same thing happened when I had my Galaxy Nexus, ended up having to replace the USB) so if I don't manage to get it to work by cleaning it I'll order a replacement USB port

Are you trying to mount as storage or use adb commands?
Do you have USB debugging enabled?
Does the PC recognize the phone from recovery or fastboot?

I assume you have tried other USB ports ect? Do you have another PC to test with to rule out the wildfires micro USB is not damaged?

[A] USB Device Not Recognized

Hey Guys,
So im having an issue for when i try to connect my note 2 running Jedi X20 to my windows 8.1 computer i get an error stating "USB Device Not Recognized". I have tried everything from trying different cables, downloading drivers, deleted and reinstalling drivers, checking to see if my phone is set to PDA, trying factory reset in TWRP, etc. i was wondering if anyone has successfully fixed this issue and they could help me.
I am trying to get my device connected so ODIN may recognize my device so i can revert it back to Stock.
My note 2 is also showing up as "unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)

Have you tried the USB ports on the back of the PC? If so....
Maybe try updating the drivers for the motherboard of your PC instead of using standard Windows 8.1 drivers. Assuming Windows 8.1 is recognizing all the USB ports you are trying to plug your cable into.
If this does not work and you have a copy of Windows 7, download Virtualbox and install Windows 7 as a virtual machine. Launch it make sure you have the USB settings inside the virtual machine setup to allow the USB to be used from Host PC.
Load the Samsung drivers in the Windows 7 virtual machine. I'm assuming those are the drivers you have stated you have downloading and reinstalled.
Sorry meant to say it's a laptop. Tried all ports and installing drivers. Unfortunately I don't have windows 7

Have you installed every driver you need?
Try USB 2.0 AND 3.0 Ports.
Is the Kindle Fire in a good condition? (No accidental damage, good envoirment conditions, etc.)

Can you boot to your OS? If you can, then does your computer detect it then (if that's not where you were trying to get it detected in the first place)? What OS are you using (both on your device and PC)?

Galaxy A5 2017 USB 3.0 support

I have a replacement cable.
I tried plugging in my device in my laptop using USB 3.0 port but it only charges my phone, it doesn't detect the MTP to transfer files. But when I tried plugging it in in the USB.. 2..0 port, MTP works.
My question is, is this because of the cable? Or is the A5 not supported by USB 3.0?

Mine works on a USB 3.0 port.
USB 3.0 should be backwards compatible to USB 2.0, so I think it's the cable. Maybe you could try again on a different pc? Just to be sure.
If you're using Windows check your device manager to see what it says, maybe a specific usb driver is needed?
i have same problem.
many time ago my phone (A5 2017) recognize with my laptop but after some update its not recognize in laptop but detect in office PC.
i do some work like change windows , reinstall add driver, use linux but not work in laptop. its now just work with one PC in office and other PCs not work. (
