I am glad that I can help someone..
Now, about that partitioning, there is this link; mtk6577gamingrig.blogspot.com/p/how-to-change-your-sd-card-to-phone.html
But I have not tried that partitioning, I rooted my phone just so I could change some things in "build.prop" file, and bootanimation.zip, so that everyone gets the idea that I actually have the original Galaxy S3..
If you succeed in partitioning, leave a comment here.
Also on this blog; mtk6577gamingrig.blogspot.com there are all kind of compatible games for our phone..
Regards,
Boocy.

I've done everything I wanted to do on the phone (increase the memory: root + partition) and then I would be fine. but I would try a new rom willingly because I find it slow.
thanks

Hey man, could you please make SP Flash Tool backup of your ROM, and upload it on http://bitupload.com/ for me so I can fix my cellphone??
Only you can do this becouse you have the same model as I do ..
Here is how you can do it; http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.pt/2012/04/creating-rom-dump-of-your-mt65x3-device.html
First you will need ADB drivers installed, and MTKdroidTools, you can find all of the files you need here; http://www47.zippyshare.com/v/91738412/file.html and then start ADB Terminal from MTKdroidTools..
Then enter these commands;
---------------
adb shell
cat /proc/mtd > /sdcard/firmware.info
---------------
Then just continiue tutorial from that link,,, anyway... When you are done, it will be around 650 Mb in size, just zip the folder and upload it on http://bitupload.com/
Please man do me this favour.. my phone is dead with out your help, you know I would do the same for you.. :/

Emrah.

[Q] Couple of newbie questions :)

Phk said:
Greetings fellow Friends from Galaxy
I just moved myself from the HTC Magic section to this one.. It was quite a jump, the Galaxy S Camera and 4inch screen are AWESOME =)
I have a few noob questions that I don't want to spread through many posts, so i've chosen to get them all here, without polution this forum section. Also they might come in handy for future Galaxy S buyers!
My phone is: 2.1-update1 @ I9000XXJF5
Question #1
Well at first glance everyone's trying to fix the "LAG PROBLEM"... I haven't noticed any lag!! What are we talking about? If its a fix.. i want it too
Click to collapse
the lag problem does not accure instantly after startup, it takes a while to do so.
Question #2
The phone came with Android 2.1, but at samsung-firmwares.com and at this dev section of the forum, i saw the JP3 Froyo release. How stable is this? Is it already a daily driver or a total beta? As an Android lover, i'd love to have the latest
Click to collapse
this release is, lets say, alpha quality, however some do use it daily and seems to be stable so far, but the jit is broken, so dont expect it to be faster than eclair
Question #3
I've used the One Click rooting solution and then the ROM Manager Clockwork to boot into clockwork rom and make a full-system backup. In my HTC Magic i had the recovery ROM (Amon_RA) flashed into the internal phone memory, so even if i didn't have a ROM installed, i was ALWAYS able to boot into recovery. That was a safety plus. How can i flash the Clockwork Recovery directly to my phone, without the ROM Manager? I'd feel more secure if i could count on recovery even if, for example, i flashed a non-working system ROM.
Click to collapse
you can run the clockwork recovery from original recovery by simply running it´s update.zip, this does in fact load the clockwork recovery into memory
Question #4
So what is YOUR favourite ROM? My stock has some unwanted apps, and even worse, it's Eclair. I'd like to switch soon, but i don't know these Galaxy S ROMs Tell me what's the best ROM for you!
Thanks guys, XDA is indeed the #1 place for mobile stuff
Cheers

If JIT is broken, the rest of new 2.2 features can be achieved through Market tools... I'll stick to 2.1 then. By the way, where's a CLEAN 2.1 Rom? this one has lots of service-provider tools... They suck.
FadeFx said:

Now That's a fix! So i just have to keep my update.zip of Clockwork Rom in INTERNAL SD CARD so that anytime, anywhere, i just have to perform update.zip and the Clockwork will boot ONCE from RAM and them be cleared at next boot, right?

I've seen the fix but i'd like to understand if the bug exists in every kernel, since is a file-system related bug.

Phone Won't Start After DPI Change. PLEASE HELP!!!

After lowering my DPI, now my phone won't boot up past the first screen. I have been told that a "dirty flash" will help but I have no idea what any of those terms mean so please give me very specific instructions on what to do
tried flashing ROMs? You modified build.prop right? If so, flash a zip that puts a new build.prop inside the system.
How do I flash the rom? Sorry I'm really new to this stuff
Ok so now can somebody please introduce me to a ROM that will actually work and give me a new build.prop because I've tried alot of roms and none of them work :'(
I REALLY need this phone working ASAP and I hear I need to get a new build.prop

It's simple, load a Rom in your sd card, using TWRP do a system format(deletes your whole ROM) and flash the ROM form sd card.
Oh and since you are new to that stuff, here is a recommended rom ->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1955679 this dude over there explains the whole process well, if you still feel you need help and advice, drop me a pm or something
I'll try that out. I REALLY hope this works...
I'll give thanks if it does
Didn't work
I did all that (but I have no idea what TWRP is so I didn't do that)
and it just said that the installation was aborted (status 7)
I did however notice that it said "confirming that your device is GT-I8160" and that seems to be where the problem started
My phone is: GT-S7560M
Please help

No, not yet. I was waiting for some advise. Actually the reason why I want to root it is mainly the poor battery life. I'm hoping to freeze some unnecessary apps and processes. Anyway thanks for the hint. I was planning on trying One Click Root.
From my experience one click root does not work on chiniese phones (at least those which i got). GL - i hope you have some succes!

Thats all.. you are done. Try it for different devices. The limitation is u can only get CWM 5.X.X(non touch) only with this.

Dear Praderj
To start with... I am just an end user only. I don't know the meaning and functionality of these CWM/ROOTBOX/ROM etc.. words.
I am using Celkon A97 and company launched it with Ginger Bread 2.3.6 and later on I went to Service center and got it updated to ICS 4.0.2/3. Now the warranty was also over and the service center guy will not upgrade to JB. So. if I want to upgrade to JB 4.3 version, what all shall I need to do ?
If you just tell me in simple steps --- like, to download 2 files - 1 for root and 2 for image file of JB .. How these 2 should be operated.
I am sure you got what I want to know - though .. Thanks a lot in advance...

There is too many way to flash custom recovery. For that you can use my signature (there is a link for CWM).
And if you need to know about custom recovery then read these Tutorial - 1, Tutorial - 2, Tutorial - 3 or use search option on XDA.
