[REQ] Black statusbar for stock odexed ROM's - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Hi guys,
Will any of the great themers here be kind enough to create a mod for the stock odexed ROMs that makes the status bar black?
There are mods available but almost all of them are for deodexed ROMs. A lot of people prefer to just have the stock odexed ROM (rooted or otherwise) and I am sure it will make their experience much better.
If it just requires a change of png's, I will be glad to do it myself if given correct directions. I am also slightly educated in terms of vrt theming. Unfortunately, as I am not from a techie background, stuff like XML editing stuff goes over my head..
Look forward to help and assistance. My current set up is LSN odexed stock+rooted..

Hi
1. decompile SystemUI.apk (dont forget frameworks)
2. edit file drawables.xml in path res\values\
for black color:
<item type="drawable" name="status_bar_background">#ff000000</item>
3. compile modifed apk
4. with 7zip take the 'resources.arcs' file of the "new" apk and copy them into original SystemUI.apk
5. place the SystemUI.apk in the path /system/app - set same premissions for new apk

Where do I put the modified system ui? Preload or system?

If you're running a JB 4.1.2 rom, it goes in preload\symlink\system\app

Unfortunately, when I tried to flash the modded systemui.. my status bar simply vanished.
Has it got to do something with the systemui in the system app folder still being odexed?

I use ES too
i work only in folder system/app
1. rename original SystemUI.apk to SystemUI.apk.bak
2. copy new SystemUI.apk to folder system/app
3. set permissions
4. rebot

First of all you should do a backup in CWM
Next you should use root explorer (or any other file explorer which is able to access system)
Pull out framework-res.apk from \system\framework
make a backup/copy of the file
open framework-res.apk with winrar, navigate to res\ and extract the drawable-hdpi folder.
download veepee´s framework, open it in winrar and extract also drawable-hdpi (rename it, so you can differentiate both folders).
now, i just can guess how veepee made his framework. In best case, you just have to copy over all "stat_battery*.png´s" from veepee´s framework. Worst case is that he changed some *.xml files so that you would have to decompile your framework-res.apk.
Hope that helps you
as said only images changed, no xml modifications. file should work with cog 113 rom. I guess loop can occur if overwriting the apk had some problem..
doing as told above, should work with any apk that has 100 batt and charging images.

Worked flawlessly on me TY this is what i was looking for!
thanks 4 sharing
WooooHoooo, Looks great on Cognition 1.5.1

Ok, the same images in the two files (twframework-res.apk and framework-res.apk) but, xml files? I edit one xml but there isn't any change (twframework-res.apk), that xml is neither in framework-res.apk or SystemUI.apk
Edit: Ok, I don't need to edit twframework-res.apk, i need to edit apk xml (in this case, Music.apk) I found the same xml inside, i'll try if work.
Edit2: It's work.

Yes.
For 99% controls of ui you would need to edit framework-res.apk
Though i prefer apktool + 7zip

Stock nav icons?

I am currently running the AlienDroid V1 ROM, which is fantastic but I don't like the navigation icons. Is there any way to get the stock JB navigation icons?
I've tried decompiling SystemUI.apk and replacing the icons but always run into issues when trying to compile it...
Thanks
Those are nav buttons.
Just download a flushable zip and glad it via CWM.

Look into SystemUI.apk, not in framework
I decompiled SystemUi.apk
Its about 2.4 Mb. change my battery colours (you can see on the attach)
But when i compile again it was 1.7 Mb. Unsigned
I signed Apk and still same 1.7 Mb.
Its my first time to decompile any apk.
I think i made something wrong
Any idea for this Noob User?
Size is not important. Often a compile of something you decompile will come out smaller. This shouldn't be used as an indicator of anything

In that case you have done something wrong
You don't even need to decompile to swap images anyway. Just open the zip (NOT extract) with winrar, 7zip or linux archive manager, delete the images you want and drag the new images (which must have the exact same name - case sensitive) in. If it asks for compression,.choose "store" or "no compression"
You only need to decompile and recompile if you're changing resources and xml files

[Q] Replace icons?

Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to replace the system icons (phone, contacts, Play Store) in Deviant Wicked v10 with the system icons from Deviant Domination v1 and if it is possible, how would it be done.
Thanks in Advance.
Its very possible.. You can do it by extracting the icon.png from the res folder within the apks you want the icon from, and then use a launcher like nova to replace the icons in the drawer or desktop using the PNG you extracted.. That is the easy way.
If you wanna use the touchwiz launcher, you have to extract the icon.png from the apk you want the icon from, decompile the apk you want to use, replace the icon.png to the one you want (the one you extracted), compile the apk, and then push it to system/app.. I think there's special things you gotta do to get the phone, contacts and play store to compile and launch correctly though, I never messed with them much

Look in the res/drawable-xhdpi folder.. Should be one of those pngs

Thank you for your help. I Found the play store icon. it's in the Phonesky.apk. extracted it from Domination, replaced it in Wicked but when I tried to copy the apk back to the phone, it gives an error and wont allow the copy.
