Application Settings Guidelines
A short and sweet guide to creating the best settings for your app
Step 1. First, ask yourself: Should it be a setting?

}
Step 2. Make sure the defaults are universally acceptable. Compatibility is key
Note: Simplicity is essential to the user experience. Wise words from Google:
If you still have lots of settings, group related settings together.
The number of items an average human can hold in short-term memory is 7±2. If you present a list of 10 or more settings (even after applying the criteria above), users will have more difficulty scanning, comprehending, and processing them.

BeginWaitCursor / EndWaitCursor

Just on the off chance...
Would any person know of a good class for handling BeginWaitCursor / EndWaitCursor. Which is:
- External to any one form.
- Holds a count of calls, so that cancels at correct place.
- Can be interupted, say to display a message, then shown as before.
- Works with a multi-thread application.
- If possible, locks user input when active. (like a model wait cursor)
- (etc)
Ben.
You may want to ask CharlyV in this forum - specifically this thread..

We've been creating neat little system wait icons in there...

Like the idea of changing the wait cursor. (The word 'wait' seems slightly superfluous, since it's the only cursor...) Nice site, I look forward to seeing what response I get.

[Q] HD2 Section

Ok I understand that it's currently being reorganized. Looks to be pretty much done as far as new sub forums. I just have one question Why are they all viewable while in the main HD2 sub forum. You have the actual sub sections Windows development, Android, Meego...etc.etc. But then the sub sections with in those are also viewable in the main sub forum.

Shouldn't those be collapsed?
The view in the new template is better than the old. We no longer support the old template...meaning, we're not going to update it, but of course we'll let people use it if they want.
Gotcha so it's a template issue. Never thought of switching to see. Figured each one would see the same layout and draw it the same way but with a different color scheme for the most pat.
I'll give it a try............
Yep that fixed it.

[SOURCECODE] Windows Phone 7 Manager (launch/uninstall/etc)

Windows Phone 7 Manager is a very simple app to help everyone to create application managers for WP7 platform. Visual Studio Express C# 2010 Source code is available, and it is extremely easy to understand. Enjoy!
The aim of the application is to be expanded by others maybe share our homebrew code, etc... I just exposed some of the wp7 platform capabilities with very few code lines.

Hi everyone,
we are currently working on a new Android bucket list app and we wanted to share with you how it is going. We know there are already a few bucket list apps on Google Play, but they miss many features in our opinion, moreover they lack in social aspects. Some of the features in our app:
A discover screen to find life goals and the ability to add them to your bucket list
Upload images and write tips & experiences to any goal
Find and follow people with similar interests
An activity feed to see what goals the people you follow are achieving
The app is about 80% complete so we set up a website to show the main features to the public. If anyone is interested, you can sign up here and you'll be notified by email when the app launches. Feel free to post questions, comments and suggestions, it would help us a lot.
Thanks!
