[Q] How do I disable disruptive auto-volume muting during system notifications? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

I really hope my question doesn't go unanswered like this thread: (Q) How do you disable notification mute? I'm surprised that there aren't more people asking the same question for an annoying issue such as this; as it completely ruins the experience of what you are listening to. I can hear background sounds perfectly fine; and, don't need the volume of what I'm listening to, to be completely muted during system notification sounds.
How can I disable this annoying feature? I didn't see any settings to disable it under Settings/Sounds. Hopefully if there is no setting for this, there's still a way to fix this problem.

Loud Notification while you are already on a call?

Prior to froyo, as far as i remember this was not the issue.
But now, even when I am on call, and received an SMS or any other notification of some kind, mobile will ring notification sound with default volume settings, which happens to be quite loud, especially if you are listening to a call?
Is there any solution for hits ?
i have this problem, i have to keep my volume really low in case i get a notification when on a call. sorry havn't found a fix but hopefully someone has come across this before
just bumping this and adding some more info. my phone used to be fine, i think its since the froyo OTA update. im going to try rooting etc if i cant get it fixed

[ISSUE] weird lockscreen sound

Hey guys,
I always had the notification sound for locking and unlocking enabled. And I was used to have the unlock notification sound like a click or something. Well all of a sudden it's not a click anymore but rather something robotic like. Softreset didn't change anything. Neither did disabling and re-enabling the notification sound. Anybody else ever experienced that?

Notification sounds on silent?

So perhaps this is a feature working as intended, but I'll be damned if it isn't super annoying. Basically, even if my phone is on silent or vibrate, the minute I plug in a headset, it'll start playing notification sounds through the headset. I can understand this possibly being useful if my phone was in a loud mode. But when I'm listening to music in my car or something and the phone is on vibrate, it'll dim the music and play a notification sound. If it's on silent, it'll dim the music but not make a notification sound. Hopefully that was easy enough to understand. Basically I need it to stop adjusting the volume of the music when I receive a notification. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm rooted stock and would prefer not to have to install a custom rom.
Thanks for any help guys

I can't believe there's no way to fix this, I've searched for a while and it seems to be a somewhat common problem. I was also trying to stay with stock ROM but I may flash CM if it fixes this. Could anyone else confirm?

Question Getting rid of the annoying 'ding' sound when touching the assistant voice typing icon in Gboard

The thread title says it all. With normal voice typing on Gboard, it doesn't make that annoying ding sound when you Hit the voice typing icon. But with assistant voice typing enabled, the incredibly annoying ding is there, and I can't figure out how to remove it. I don't want to turn down the media volume because then the whole device is muted.
I've heard that tasker can do this, but I don't know if it's true. Does anyone know of a surefire way or even ADB command to this fukking thing?
It's the same annoying ding sound when you say hey Google, so likely turning this off will turn off that annoying sound as well.
I'd also like to have that ding removed, definitely is a bit annoying

Has anyone figured out how to do this? Evidently I sure fire way to do it is to completely remove any sort of accessibility service you have installed. But that is not a realistic option. Using Nova launcher, for example is a must, and must be enabled through accessibility to get full functionality.

This is driving me so incredibly insane, words don't do it justice - as that ding sound is so loud, and I just don't want to broadcast everyone around me that I'm using it....
Also, using do not disturb mode just to make it go away, is simply not realistic.
I think if you rename one of the .ogg sounds in the UI media folder it should eliminate the sound.
You'd need root to touch that folder though. I'll see if I can find the exact sound file.
Edit: doesn't look like it's in the system UI sounds. Very odd

[MIUI 13.0.8] Mute notifications, allow calls

Heya,
so, as the title says, I'm having issues muting the notification and app sounds, while still allowing phone calls to get through and ring the phone out loud.
In the past, this was achievable by the Do Not Disturb mode. Right now however, it doesn't mute notifications anymore, as that is now done by the new "silent" mode. But that one also mutes incoming calls, which is completely unusable for me (I have occasional on-call nights when I need to be available on my phone, even if I'm sleeping, yet find the constant pinging of the apps super annoying).
The only working solution I found was to go into notification settings and block notifications from most of the very frequent apps... Which is annoying, as I also have to not forget to toggle the notifications back the next day.
Is there still a way to achieve the "Mute media and notifications, keep calls" combo in Android 12 + MIUI 13? Thanks!
On most phones the phone ringtone and notification volume is separate, is that not the case in your device?

Unfortunately not, instead, I have media, calls and alarm clock (as seen in the screen).
If I mute media, I still get notification and call sounds. If I mute the bell, I no longer get either. Dnd has no effect on the notification sounds.

This certainly sucks, can't every smartphone company share good things from each other instead of adopting all the bad changes. look around on Google maybe there are apps for this.

Hey have you found any solution? As I'm also struggling with same problem
It sucks, but until they fix it, you can use this app.
On the downside, it not only mutes sound, but completely mutes the notification including the badges , though. Anyone please post if you have a better solution.
i know im late. but i found a fix. (kinda) if you remove your notification sound completely. through settings, notifications and vobrations, notification sound and then while in the themes app. ringtone, and then no romg tone. even tho i thaught it changed the ringtone. if you go through settings first. ot will change the notification sound and not the ringtone. hope this helped
While waiting patiently for A13 ROMs for my current daily driver to mature a bit more I am using a silent audio file for the notification sound. I can't believe all these years MIUI still doesn't have an option to unlink calls and notification volume.
