FAQ:
Q: I hate this. How do I turn off all emails and notifications?
A: Go here and check off: hide mention alerts, hide quote alerts, disable mention emails, disable quote emails.
Q: I kind of like this. I only want certain people to be able to mention and quote me. How do I do it?
A. Go here and check off either "enable mention restrictions" or "enable quote restrictions". Then add people to your friends list that you only want to be able to mention or quote you. Boom.

Just fixed a small bug where you would get both a mention and a quote email if you were mentioned and quoted. It will only send out one quote email.
This is great! @conantroutman and @M_T_M will be so pleased!
Shame it only works on the new theme, though. Ah well. It's a cool feature anyway!

Hmm, I had thought about that, but I thought that if you follow a large thread with lots of replies you may still want to be notified if you are mentioned explicitly.

ok, go into start menu, programs, scroll down to the bottom you will see windows live icon, click icon and program will then run and install messenger.

The attitude isnt unnecessary.. its about keeping the board clean of useless junk... you are using an outdated version of black... that isnt black2.0... this is why there is no windows live.. please read and make sure you have latest version.

Yes it´s a new feature that started today, some bugs are present for example on the 2010 XDA skin is not enabled yet, only in old style.

Summary:
The Thanks button and meters only appears using the 2010 style not the Classic theme (there is a drop down box, bottom left of forum pages to change the style).
The thanks button does not show until after you have started posting,
Only one post is needed to allow the Thanks Button to show, but there can be a server delay meaning you may not see it until you have made a few posts or until the next time you login.
There are no plans to increase the thanks limit from 5 per day. This is set relatively low to prevent abuse and also to encourage some selectivity about when you choose to use the button.
The thanks bar fills quickly at first, but when your thanks count gets higher the bar fills more slowly.
We cannot alter your thanks count. Sometimes when posts are deleted / merged your thanks count will decrease. If a User has two accounts which are merged to adhere to our rule of one account per User, the thanks count may not reflect the total of the original accounts. We have no easy / practicable way of correcting this.
We discourage Users from soliciting Thanks and they should never be required in return for providing replies or anything else. The same rules that apply to Donations apply to Thanks, they should be given freely and without pressure / obligation.
Also includes a nice thanks meter behind your member name

Your available thanks count replenishes every twenty four hours. Is is a count down from each thanks you hand out, not the group. Therefore, if you give a Thanks at 1700, then at or around 1700 the following day, you will have another one to replace that one.

Ah - my bad. Yeah, it creates a new search each time. I had seen it and assumed (stupidly) that it was just a search by user ID.
Search has been so unreliable recently it's crazy
A possible workaround, although it's not exactly ideal, is to type the following into Google

If you have some idea of the thread title then you could put that in there as well and narrow it down a little?
You can do this by going to the forum home, choosing Advanced Search, typing in your username, making sure the "Search All Open Forums" and "Show Results as Threads" selections are highlighted. The default sort order of the results is last threads with a post are at the top.

I'll try to position it better when I get the watch (I'll be getting one as soon as it comes to Amazon official retailer).
