[Q] Can anyone recommend a solid, stock, rooted ROM? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I'm looking for a solid, stock rooted ROM that is the most up to date as possible. I've been using CM10.1 for quite awhile now, and it's just a little too buggy for my liking.
Thanks in advance.

GB27 is really good and stable. Flash tdunham's AIO mod on top and it gets even better.

Does GB27 have pop-up text notifications w/o the need for a 3rd party app? One thing that I'd miss if it's not there.

Touched by s4 is good two

[Theme] [1/9/2012] Another ICS Theme EL26/ EL29(2 versions).... check it out

When I got my Epic Touch I flashed Overstews first ICS theme. I liked the black menus with the blue highlights and decided to keep it even though all the other ICS themes went to the grey menus (like ICS really has). A lot of apps are themed. I used images from Overstew and Vertumus, and put my own touch on things. All the apks are optimized and zip aligned. I try to elimate images that arent being used, etc. Anyway, check it out, let me know what you think.

Safe to use this on Calk 2.8 Rom since it's EL29 now? I'm guessing not, but figured I would ask if anyone has done it yet.
Theoretically... this should work with calk's from right? Mad. Mentioned that this rom is based off calk's el29 rom and rogue's kernal.

I will upload another version based on calks EL29 either tonight or tomorrow(its my birthday, so theres family stuff to do). I didnt notice any changes in the themed apps from EL26 to EL29, but whatever. I am running the EL29 one I did for Calkulins right now and its great. I was in a hurry when I did maddoggins and forgot to add a few things, but unfortunately I wont be updating it because I use calks rom.

Is there anything I should be aware of as i'm using your theme for maddoggins. I'm on calks 2.8 and didn't notice anything wrong, or is it just enhancements? I'm just curious...

I think maddoggin mods a few other framework files....framework.jar, android.policy.jar and services.jar. It might work, but some of the features from maddoggin wouldnt work right....Im not sure. I will upload a version built of calks soon. I dont use the locksreen mod, so might as well remove it.
On the version for maddoggin, I forgot to change the progress bar just so everyone knows.

Odex Your ROM - Universal - Super Snappy!

I didn't see any scripts to convert ROM from deodex to odex, so I figured I'd round one up. I've been using odex'd ROMs since Ammikan started doing to back in my Evo 4G days. I think it definitely speed things up and should give you a more stock snappy feel. I'm sure there will be some debate about actual performance, but I wanted use it and figured someone else may want to as well so here we are.
DISCLAMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE AS A RESULT OF FLASHING THIS!!!!!
By request I added an additional zip for odexing your /data/app folder. The zip will keep the classes.dex files inside your apks and make things easier to update/revert.
MAKE SURE YOU NANDROID BEFORE DOING THESE!!!!
Instructions:
1. Nandroid
2. Copy attached zip to your sdcard
3. Flash (this may take anywhere from 5-10 mins)
4. Reboot

Tested on several setups. It worked perfectly on a ROM with Banksmi's Minimal Black theme with gtg's extended toggles, no lockscreen mod. I then tried a setup that had the aio mod and my status bar disappeared. Its possible it was a fluke or maybe the odexed aio mod would be flashed after this on the ROM. Outstanding work! If some people running a ROM with AIO mod can give it a shot, it would be great...as OP says.. nandroid first but damn, that was easy!

+1 on that. I'm currently using Jedi Knight 2. Absolutely awesome ROM. very stable and fast. Since I'm newbie, I can't post any comment on the development section.
Couple issues I would like to mention:
- the DSP manager is very selective. Doesn't work with 3rd party music player like pandora. I found the solution by uninstalling the current dsp manager with titanium backup and reinstall using version that works system wide. I absolutely loved it!
- I added battery saver mod (CPU Sleeper) from play store by Eugene. it certainly make the battery last lot longer and cooler.
- I added couple extra apps that were ported from S3 like S-Voice, S-Suggest, S-Memo. All running smoothly without single hitch.
- I also added Google Now that was ported from Jellybean. Work like a charm!
- Upgraded to CWM touch 6.0.1.4. Highly recommended. more stable and I experience zero issues.
Since this is pure experimental for me, sometimes during upgrade, I hit couple issues like rooting issues, unable to connect to network provider, slow performance, etc. Finally I found the right way to restore backup by doing preliminary cleanup :
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
- SUPER wipe and Cache wipe using darkside script.
- Lastly, format system.
So far everything running smoothly.

I just installed the official Jedi knight 3 last night.
so far so good. couple issues :
1. The first time installed the ROM, after waiting for >10 minutes, I got setup menu crash. but it I can proceed with the setup without problem.
2. Awesome beats is not working with third party music player like Pandora. I have DSP manager version that works with 3rd party (system wide).
If pmtr3 can fixed this, this will be awesome.
Running AOKP ICS Milestone 6 with a koodo radio (Telus SIIX).... Was running CM9 for a month or so as well... I'd recommend either, I like some of the customizations in AOKP a bit more though...found them both very stable and smooth

[Q] Grey bars on signal and wifi icons

Been having this trouble for a little while now. While jumping between some CM10.1 ROM versions and doing TitaniumBackups, my wifi and signal icons suddenly went to grey, whence the never returned.
With the official JB Samsung update I decided to revert to stock and see if that would fix it. Nonetheless, despite using the GB27 Oneclick to completely reimage the phone (It was data reset, so an additional wipe shouldn't be necessary), my bars and wifi remained at stock before I had even restored anything. What I did restore following that, I was careful to only restore data for non-google apps (no system, no gmail, etc.). So I'm on JB Stock now, still with greyed out bars.
I've tried any number of solutions--stopping Google Framework Services and clearing the data/cache, reinstalling all google apps, including the Playstore, signing in and out of GTalk, installing Push Notifications Fixer to debug--all to no avail.
At this point I'm not sure what else to do. I have the GTalk Monitor running and everything seems to be fine. I've even sent myself a few emails from other addresses to confirm that the Push Notifications are working--which they seem to be. So I'm not sure why I'm still not getting blue bars and/or what litmus test my phone has to pass to make Google happy.
Any suggestions?
On stock jb the signal bars should look like this
