FAB FONE - Rooted and themed

I am really impressed with the Galaxy Note 2 - picked mine up today and I feel like a kid in a candy store. I was able to Root really easily thanks to Chainfire, if you haven't done it yet - go to the Original Development section - and read his post Here very carefully http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1980644 - I had no problems getting root - I then installed TWRP(get that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1981198 now I can't wait for some Devs to start bringing us some new ROMS but the for the time being I am having lots of fun with this phone.
I saw somewhere in the Galaxy Note Forum that someone had flashed the Motomo00 theme for n7100 - so after rooting I gave it a try - and it worked beautifully. I cannot remember who said it - nor can I remember exactly where I found the theme - I downloaded them late last night - I actually downloaded a bunch of things in anticpation of buying the note today...and I can't recall exactly where I found it) - word of warning , if you are using TWRP and you want to flash MOTOMOTO for n7100 - you have to change the Zip Align file - otherwise the theme won't actually be there if you try flashing it - something to do with it being signed or something - I don't recall the exact reason - but the instructions were easy to follow and it worked beautifully - really nice theme.
Anyway - the theme looks and works very well. No issues so far. I also flashed the 4.2Camera, Keyboard, Playstore, GMAIL, GOOGLE Now and one or more two more of the 4.2 APs from the Nexus 4 Gapps that is floating around - and they all flashed flawlessly and seem to be working very well.
All is good - and with source released recently it is bound to get even better very soon!

Very Interested!
I recently received a t110 as a gift and I've already tried every custom ROM available (there aren't a ton of choices at the moment it seems). I'm still not done experimenting but all the flashing has introduced some issues and I find it hard to maintain a custom ROM and working custom recovery at the same time (without ending up in a recovery bootloop). I think a tool like yours would probably be very helpful and get a lot of use from me (guaranteed). I hope it's in the works! :good:

Hey no worries . The fact that you're taking the time out of your schedule to do it at all is enough for me to say thanks and wait patiently for whenever you're able to get it all done. I've got a lot of appreciation for any and every developer who takes time out of their lives to provide people with some of their hard work for free. I think everyone should. Cheers!

Yes! This would be a great tool! For this neat tablet.

For Canadian Note 2 owners stuck... Heres some files :)

Hi guys, i recently wanted to "revive" my old note 2 for various reasons, but found that i can't find any files etc for the wind mobile variant!
So in short im not the author of these files, i just managed to get them all in one place.
This is a pre-rooted android 4.3, that works FLAWLESSLY on the wind mobile variant. Also included is the PROPER version of Odin and samsung usb drivers. Plus a few mandatory APK's, and support/info for custom recovery (TWRP)
Follow all directions in the package and you'll be fine.
Bring your note 2 back to life! even if just for a car GPS/Media center.
Enjoy.

[APP][SNAPSHOT]Dual-Boot Patcher - Even On /Data!

REMEMBER THIS IS A SNAPSHOT BUILD, THAT MEANS THE APK IS BUILT AS SOON AS CHANGES ARE PUSHED FROM THE MASTER HIMSELF @chenxiaolong
I'm proud to present the first dual boot project for the Qualcomm-based Samsung Galaxy S4! This project started off as a feature in my ROM, but not anymore. This will allow any two ROMs (soon, three) to be installed at the same time. It works by patching the secondary ROM's installation scripts and boot image to load the ROM files from an alternate location (/system/dual, /cache/dual, and /data/dual). Because of the way this is implemented, no changes to the primary ROM are necessary

Tested Personally myself @ktetreault14 with the G920T Xtresolite 5.0.2 ROM (found here) as my primary rom. I then used @eousphoros 5.1.1 Debloated V2 ROM (found here) as my secondary. I even have a Sprint OE2 rom I was testing in a third slot. You might wonder how this is possible. All thanks to chenxiaolong's brilliant multibooting system. He has now added in the ability to install roms straight from your /data partition All without touching your primary rom. You could be stock rooted and have no problems as long as it isn't aroma. (In which case I think you could alwasys use flashfire) The S6 Edge didnt have a very large /system partition (only 4.05 gb ) and /cache was nothing to brag about either (for those inquiring minds it is 304.7mb) So naturally I asked the amazing quick chen if there was any way I could Install it to my ~25gb /data partition, within days he whipped something up... But enough with the story get on with the tutorial and show me the downloads... Ok Fine.. Here. We. Go!!!!!!!!!!!! :fingers-crossed:
TUTORIAL AND PICS AND VIDEOS
I'm Assuming you have the apk downloaded and installed. Also you have the rom and, if you need it, the kernel already downloaded on placed on your phone's memory.
Step 1| Open the apk, Swipe right from left edge, Patch Zip File.
Step 2| That is obvioulsy not your phone so lets change that. Click jflte and select zerolte in the dropdown. (BTW all those other phones are supported too.)
Step 3| Change where you would like it to install too. (Most likely going to be /data unless the roms are heavily debloated or AOSP) For the purposes of this tutorial it is going to /data
Step 4| Name your ROM. Pick Your ROM.
Step 5| Ignore The Information Here, Scroll down, Tap to begin patching. Do as many times as you would like
Step 6| Open hamburger menu, ROMs, click the FAB (Floating Action Button), click +, pick patched rom.
Step 7| Keep Installation Location or change if you are not sure. Do as with many zips you would like to install.
Step 8| Click checkmark in top left corner.
Step 9| Reboot and you will boot up into new rom
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SWITCH ROMS
Step 1. Open App
Step 2. Click ROMs
Step 3. Click Rom you want to boot to
Step 4. Reboot

If I'm running the eousphoros 5.1.1 Debloated V2 ROM as my primary, I would need to start over, correct? (since this ROM doesn't have root and has stock recovery)

Nope. You only need root for the app if you want to flash in-app. Just patch rom and install from recovery
Nice Thread
Thanks for usefull thread
No problem. It's even another now
I couldn't get the 5.1.1 ROM to work. It says it's unsupported and fails to flash.

Hopefully we get more Roms options soon, loved this on my S3 switching between 2 different setups, currently we have what, one Rom 5.02 and a stock 5.1.1 without root?

Yes I agree thanks for making this thread!
App sharing problem
I didn't check the box that it says to check if you want to share info from one partition to another but it is sharing. How do I stop that? I want to have one ROM for work and one for personal without the info of pics crossing over.
s6 edge?
This is posted in the tmobile s6 edge forum but you only mention using this with the s4. Is this actually usable on the s6 edge? I checked the threads of chenxiaolong from post #1 but I only saw reference to the s4 in his threads as well.
I'd like to dual boot my phone but this thread doesn't make me believe it works for us s6 edge users.
Yeah using it noe
It seems arter kernel not supported.

Jsut need to know if this is currently working for S6 Edge
I have the g920 flat s6t and haven't have any issues duel booting. Always had Sickness roms as my primary and with all his versions i had no issues with duel boot but now in his latest v9 built i am unable to duel boot. When i reboot secondary rom it stays at samsung boot logo, it does not go into recovery. When i flash the utility zip to switch to primary rom it boot loops and goes to recovery and none of the roms boots..so i reflashed sick as hell v7 and its duel booting good. The rom developer told me he have no change anything from v7 to v9 he just added some tweaks and xtra apps, don't understand why is not duel booting with latest rom. I did flashed the log file. I will attach it.

Galaxy j6+ Android 10 TWRP and downgrade

Hy,
i, got a Samsung Galaxy j6+ (SM-J610 FN) that was before automatic updatet to Android 10.
So i want use it for me now and want to root and change to a Twrp recovery and any custom Rom.
-----
I had the last years many devices as Sony, HTC, and older Samsung and nevertime i had so much problems to understand and also start to flash Twrp and any rom... Yust now with this device i starting cracy :-(
-----
So the problem to understand proper/my questions (my english isn,t very well):
1. i read now nearly two day,s a lot of treads ther and on other Forums. And i starting realy confused now becaus it seems al lot of problems with newer Android System (and also Bootloader) to flash and permanently root,...
2. as i read: something on Android 10 dont want work (is broken) after Twrp/root or have other problems,...?
3. If the TWRP is flashed with existing Android 10, only Magisk is then flashed (with TRWP or ODIN) not: RMM_BYPASS_V3_CORSICANU.ZIP and not J4 + J6 + _oreo_forced_encryption_disabler.zip. Is that right?
4. So, also i read things about the existing bootloader Version that must be have to do this? I have now U2.
must i have a higher version? So many things make me realy unsure what i have to care bevor i can flash some rom e.g.
###################
So what I had made before (already):
1. Set the device back to factory setting ...
2. unlocked OEM
Then i wanted flash TWRP (and i also try,d to flash stock-Rom first after it not work,...) but everything dont want work about Odin failed e.g....
3. Did I find that the bootloader State Prenormally stood ---> I have now fixed that with date. That should fit now.
############
What i wont to do:
Preferably downgrade to Android 9 (or 8?), as the device with Android 10 is very slow now. :-(
- Flash TWRP
- Flash Magisk (get root)
- Flash Resurrection Remix (vx.x.x.) for Samsung Galaxy J6+
(????BUT I NOT SURE WHITCH ANDOID VERSION IT IS????)
- (or) Flash lineage-17.1-20200318-UNOFFICIAL-j6primelte
(????BUT THIS IS ANDOID VERSION 10 ALSO IS,NT IT ????)
*If there a good stable Version Rom with Android 9 or 8 so where/which,...?
And if i can flash to downgrade must i then flash the files: RMM_BYPASS_V3_CORSICANU.ZIP and J4 + J6 + _oreo_forced_encryption_disabler.zip? And when then in which way?
After TWRP (before Magisk), or after downgrade already,...?
--------------------
So i have a lot of Questions here, i know, sorry and somewhere it can read part,s of this, but i,m not sure what right for me . :-(
But there many treads now from 2018 til yet and it isn,t easy for me to understand, or better to find the right information's for me in this case (Android 10, downgrade,........ which Rom,....)
I would be very happy if someone can tell me understandable as I have to do exactly and which files are really needed to successfully downgrade with root on Android 9 (or 8?) and maybe even which Rom is recommended. Thanks for the time to have read this here.
Regards, paulhu
As I don't know the version, you can follow this video on YT, I hope it helps you.
Hello @hakli,
many thanks for your response.
Which version do you mean? The Galaxy J6 is: Galaxy SM J610FN / DS.
Thanks for the video, it's certainly very helpful.
What confused me most is with the two files that have to be flashed in a TWRP TREAD stood that it is not needed at Android 10, but there was no feedback from other users and in other places it's about it?
As far as the downgrade is concerned, another thing again ....
Greetings, Paulhu

I will honest with you, it is not easy to install twrp on j6+ (any version) watch every vid on YT. but follow the video and install the stock rom, and there will be a file called , you have to follow and use the magisk app to root the phone. Sorry for the late reply. I am kind a busy.
And I don't know where do you live, if you are an American , Italian or Indian. once I know , then I can embed the video that you can follow, First follow the above video and install the stock rom from sam mobile. You can PM me too.
