OGP and Quick Cover

Hello all,
I have a OGP with a quick cover. I absolutely love the quick cover but it does seem to impede the swipe lock screen functionality. If I close the quick cover it never locks. It stays at the home screen. If I leave the quick cover open and let the screen go dark on the timed basis then the swipe lock screen is activated.
Is there any way to get this to work with the quick cover?
Thanks,
Steve

The functionality you're experiencing is normal; the cover is intended to quickly unlock your device when the cover is opened, but it's possible to turn it off. Go into Display > Quick Cover and uncheck the Quick Cover Setting box.

So only for the Swipe option does this happen correct? I have used the Pin option and even when opening the Quick Cover I still have to enter the pin.

Yes, it will bypass the lock screen only if you have it set to swipe (or I guess no lock screen). More secure lock screens still require your input to unlock the device.

S-View Cover Question

Hi i just got a S-View cover for my s4 mini. Without the S-View cover the screen automaticly turns on when getting a message(whatsapp).
Is there a way to make the screen automaticly go on when getting a message with the s-view cover closed?
Because when closing the cover the s-view automaticly goes off after +- 6 seconds. And it only turns on when pressing the power button.
If there is something to make it turn on when getting a message it will be good for when your phone is on your desk or something.
sorry for my bad english.

Hi mustipusti,
what about switching the S View Cover function off ?
Then the S4 mini behaviour should be the same as having no S View Cover.
You will find the switch under: -> System Settings
-> Tab "My Device"
-> Accessory
-> S View Cover: Uncheck Automatic unlock
Please reply if this helps !!

[Q] How to dissable the open cover lock screen?

Evening,
Every time I open the cover on my Note 10.1 2014 I am confronted with the following pointless note taker/ calender screen. Before I can access the unlock pattern screen I have to click close. There doesn't appear to be an option in settings to disable it.
Please can anyone advise me how to disable this as its pretty annoying... It's not apparent what app or widget it actually is!
Thanks
Settings, General, Accessory, un-check Book Cover DayNote box.
I myself like it, it's useful for me to see next calendar event and sometimes to take quick notes.

Massive thanks for that ddavtian. I've extensively modified the pad, but couldn't think where the option to stop this was... These is another option for a different note taker on the lock screen which I must have tried about 10 times lol!
Same thing happened to me with the Poetic cover. It was driving me nuts trying to find the setting!

Turn off knock on?

Hi guys, does anyone know how to turn off knock on on the G3? Tried looking for it in gestures settings like in the G2 but can't seem to find it. The g3 keeps waking while in my pocket making it feels constantly warm. Anyone else experiencing this? I don't mind just using the button at the back to wake it. The placement for the button is quite comfortable actually.
I'm sorry to hear this is a problem on the g3, I have this problem on the double tap to wake code on my Nexus 5 and so I just turned it off. I know for the galaxy 2, sorry g2, voice dictation, they released firmware fix for this I think

Can you tell me how you did the wake code on the nexus 5?
And to the op, isn't there a setting in the screen gestures section of the phone to turn it off?
You can turn it off in the hidden system settings menu
Dial 3845#*855# to access it.

It is the very last setting in the list, just scroll all the way down to the bottom.
If you have the Korean model replace the 855 with 400
I turned this feature off as it will save battery life too as it needs to keep the screen driver awake happy using the back button.

855 opens my hidden menu. But I still can figure out which option to choose after scrolling down to the bottom. The screen shot shows my menu. Could u let me know which option should I be disabling?

You need to scroll down there are more options below it's the very last one.

we don't have that functionality by default, it's patched into custom kernels and eats 2-3% battery per hour (another reason I turn it off)
Just so you know, I had issues with Knock On unlocking my phone in my pocket so I turned it upside down and the issue is 100% gone !
I think it's due to the light sensor not being 100% in the dark then the taps on the lap unlocked the phone. When it's upside down the light sensor is kept in the dark
I just can't find that setting... Ive looked everywhere. My phone is rooted with towelroot. Is that the problem?

Is it really the light sensor? I think the proximity sensor would make more sense in this case! Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use the knock on feature in the darkness...
Screen wakes in my pocket whichever way up I put it in and I don't want to have the screen face outwards. This is very annoying and didn't happen on my G2 - The screen is clearly very sensitive. I don't want to turn off knock on and I don't really like knock code.

Same here. Upside up or Upside down makes no difference for me. Display from body away seems to be the only real solution...
Looks like a few of u are experiencing the same problem. I have been facing the screen away from me as a solution but it feels so awkward when I m so used to have the screen face in. And I can't find the hidden settings to turn knock on off. They really hid very well I guess.

[Question] Galaxy s9 Vibrate and Screen On`

Hey guys,
New S9 user here and having an issue with it. Clearly I'm not using the correct keywords, otherwise I'm sure it would have been an easy Google, but I can't, for the life of me, word it in any way properly. Been living with this issue since I got it and I hate it!
When I have my finger on the bottom part of the screen while it's in my pocket, when I take it out of my pocket, it'll do this short vibrate and then the screen comes on at the lock screen.
I've disabled screen always on.
I've disabled Samsung Pay while screen off and even at lock screen.
I'm not really sure what else to try.
Thanks!

Sweet! Thanks!
I only had the Hard Press option enabled. Now disabled. We'll see if that fixes my annoyance!
Mucho gracias!

It was doing it to me too, take my phone out of my pocket and the screen was already on... Then after I noticed it happening regularly I did some investigating too and discovered that setting, was never something I would use anyway so off it went
The above only partially fixed my issue. I was getting weird, random vibrate when I picked up my phone.
It's the most annoying feature ever! It is called SMART ALERT.
Search it. Disabled it. Profit.
