Three days ago I went through the process of rooting my kindle fire using KFU. Being a noob, this took me many many hours. I got everything to work, GO Launcher, Google Play, Amazon App store. I even used the Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to temporily un-root so that I can watch amazon streaming videos. I was feeling pretty good about my accomplishment.
Late last night, for no apparent reason, the Kindle Fire restarted itself and got stuck on the yellow triangle (is this FireFireFire?). I got nervous, freaked out a little. I plugged into my computer and tried to restart the Kindle after selecting 'Recovery (5001)'. No luck. I then tried the same thing after selecting 'Normal (4000)'. I could hear the USB connect/disconnect many times and then I saw the "Kindle Fire" screen and let out a sigh of relief. It booted up just fine. This was about 2 hours ago.
But, now, my Kindle randomly goes back to the yellow triangle and hangs there. I need to go through the same process above to fix things. This has happened at least four times already. It did not seem to happen while the Kindle was "connected" to my computer. It happens once I 'disconnect'.... usually after about 10 - 20 minutes. It has happened while using both GO Launcher EX and the Amazon Launcher. Any idea?
You've got the same issue I do - the kindle keeps trying to apply the new update, and it isn't working, dumping it into recovery mode. I haven't figured out an answer to getting the update successfully applied yet (will work on that tonight), but until that happens, you should be able to remove the update from the sdcard /kindleupdates, and through something like root explorer rename /etc/security/otacerts.zip to something like /etc/security/otacerts.bak (or better yet, move it to the sdcard). That will stop it from redownloading the update and auto-rebooting.

Ok. I just tested it, and had it also confirmed in another thread, but here is one way to get 6.3.1 on when the update fails to apply, putting you into the recovery, force to normal boot, kindle updates, back to recovery loop:
if you have a copy on your device, copy the update to the root of the sdcard volume or download it from amazon. Rename the file update.zip, then reboot into recovery.
Under install, install the update.zip. Once it is done, you'll have 6.3.1 applied. Now, you'll have to both reroot, and reinstall recovery, but since you just did it with KFU a few days ago, it should be pretty quick. Then go move/rename the otacerts.zip file to prevent the next unexpected update.
There might be another way that doesn't blow away recovery, but this worked for me.
Thanks so much for all of the help! It looks like everything is working again. I got 6.3.1 installed (not really sure how that happened but it did!). Also got re-rooted and reinstalled TWRP and did a backup. I renamed the otacerts.zip. There is also a cacerts.bks file in the /etc/security directory... what does that do?
Also... will I ever want/need the updates? I assume renaming the otacerts.zip stops the updates indefinitely. Will this ever be a problem?

Moving the otacerts.zip prevents the kindle from automatically downloading updates. When a new update has been released, you can download it from amazon's site manually, or put back the cert file to enable the download. Since updates often break root, this method will help keep you rooted until it is known how to root the new versions. As for want/needing them, it'll depend on what changes, but as long as they are rootable, they should generally bring improvements for the device.
The. bks file is a keystore for the certificate authority certs. You shouldn't need to ever touch that file.

Ok, I've got the exact same issue but one glaring difference. That after using KFU to boot to normal, it within 10-20sec powers down. Starting the bootloop all over. Don't know what to do, please help.
Does it actually fully boot into the kindle os? I haven't heard of it trying to apply the update that fast after start up, but not saying that it won't do that.
If using twrp, you can mount the kindle over usb from twrp - mount, and then move the update file out of kindleupdates. That should stop the boot cycle if it is being caused by the update. Another thing to check would be to look at the twrp console and make sure it is complaining about the update failing and not something else.
When I try to mount it ask me to format the drive, is that safe? Won't I lose everything then? Also, it won't allow me to select just the sd, it only allows me to select system.

Formatting your sdcard will erase everything on it. Besides trying to mount your sdcard, what are you trying to accomplish?
Well I'm stuck in bootloop with the powering off problem. The kindle is not recognized on the computer. All I want is to get the kindle back working. I have tried the unbrick utility but I think that made it worse. Getting back to a regular firmware even if its the latest would be fine. However being the noob that I am, I need step by step instructions. Thanks in advance.

Your problem can still be fixed, but considering the fact you can't get the computer to recognize your device, you only have a couple of options left:
You could acquire a factory cable which would directly power your device in order to replace the bootloader.
If you don't have the means to acquire a factory cable you need to mount your sdcard in order to transfer FFF1.4 for flashing in recovery. From what I understand in your earlier post, it would in your case, require formatting your sdcard

Hello Jarde, I have the same problem but I am super noob, my kindle is restarting at the yellow triangle every 3 seconds, you said " then tried the same thing after selecting 'Normal (4000)'. I could hear the USB connect/disconnect many times and then I saw the "Kindle Fire" screen and let out a sigh of relief", what do you mean selecting 'Normal (4000)', how can I do this?, and finally how did you solve the problem, thanks a lot and sorry for my poor english.

I had the same issue - shutdown after a few seconds after boot, then the KF boots back into yellow triangle error.
I was able to get out of this loop by booting into recovery and wiping the cache partition (and the Dalvik cache for good measure) to remove the downloaded update file. After wiping the caches, my KF rebooted normally without issue. I could then us Root Explorer to rename the /etc/security/otacerts.zip file to something else as suggested in an earlier post. I have not had a problem since.
OK...I'm a first time poster to the Kindle Fire forum and I'm having issues. I'm a little above average with my Android knowledge. I've flashed CM9 onto three Toucpads and have been fooling with my phones for a few years. HOWEVER, I'm completely stumped. Here's what's happening and what I've done.
1) I downloaded Kindle Fire Utility to root. It all went fine, as far as I could tell.
2) I downloaded the aokp_otter_build-M5>0xD34D build for CM9
3) I downloaded the gapps-ics-20120429-signed zip
4) Booted into the TWRP recovery
5) Made a backup of the stock Kindle
6) Flashed the CM9 zip and the Gapps zip. Everything seemed fine with the TWRP. Never used it before. Very familiar with CWM and seemed similar
7 Rebooted.
The Kindle Fire logo came up and then went to a blank screen. It boot-looped (is that a verb?) five or six times. While I went surfing to find answers it looped once more and came up to this screen with a pissed off looking unicorn and the Team Kang logo. It's stuck there and won't go past. The screen is still animated. The battery is not dead. I've read dozens of posts where the first suggestion is to charge the Kindle. That's not the problem. I've restarted the Kindle a hundred times and nothing.
Here's what I've tried:
1) Every combination of holding down the power button/pressing the power button combination. Nothing.
2) Downloaded the Kindle Unbrick Utility. The computer isn't recognizing the Kindle, so this isn't doing any good. I've tried all of the six different UI buttons. Nothing.
3) I went back to the Kindle Fire Utility and reinstalled the drivers and then opened the CMD window. As I expected, it's telling me "waiting for device" and doing nothing.
I have no idea where to go from here. There's got to be a way for me to get this thing to be recognized on my computer. Please help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Jeff

Wow...that is creepy. I did a search on here for pink unicor/team kang, etc. Nothing came up. It's almost 2am and I can hardly see straight. I'll read through everything in the morning. Where would I get one of these magic cables I'm reading about?

I dont see anything mentioned in your post about doing a full wipe before flashing AOKP just I thats where your method above went haywire with twrp. When going from one system to another always factory/ data restore wipe cache wipe dalvik and yes wipe system before flashing your rom and gapps. Pretty high likelyhood that why your stuck in a bootloop. You need to get back into recovery wipe the heck out of it and restore your backup. Also didnt hear mention of a bootloader. Do you get to a screen with a yellow triangle or one with a white kindle and a blue fire both these screen are bootloader splash screens for two different bootloaders. If you come to the yellow triangle hold the power button down immediatly till it turns orange this will put you into recovery. Alternatly if your greeted by a white kindle with a blue fire rapidly push the power button till some small words come up at the bottom of the screen 1. Normal 2. Recovery 3. Reset bootmode use the power button to toggle through the selections till it looks like --recovery-- this will get you into twrp where you can do as I said above wipe wipe wipe wipe restore backup reboot. Or maybe you havent got a bootloader installed.
You said you rooted with the Kindle Fire Utility and all went well. If that's the case you should have access to recovery. If so, you don't need a "magic" factory cable to fix your problem.
When you first boot your Kindle, what does the boot logo look like, exactly?

Honestly...don't remember if I did a full wipe of dalvik. I assumed I would have, but really don't remember. No...I don't get the yellow triangle and my kindle fire logo color is white "kindle" with a yellow "fire". I used the kindle fire utility and I think that installs the twrp by default. I don't have CWM installed. Wish I did. I'm comfortable with it. I just can't get to any kind of a recovery screen.

Yes...the KFU went fine, I think. I was able to access twrp and created my backup before I flashed the ICS. The Kindle logo has the white "kindle" and yellow "fire". Pauses for a few seconds or two...screen goes black...then that damned pink unicorn shows up and stays there. The unicorn screen is animated. I can power it down from there and start over without any problem. Any ideas?

One other thing that I'm not sure matters, but when I do power it off and back on, I head the little "bong" on my computer telling me that a new device has been plugged in. I go to the device manager and under the "Other" category it shows "Amazon" with the yellow triangle the black exclamation point symbol.

Through the Kindle Fire Utility? If so, I've done that several times. Would trying a different computer and installing them there make any difference?
the bootloader allows you to access recovery im not laughing cause its a bummer to see things go this way you need to get your drivers going to push a bootloader to your device

You need to make sure your drivers are in order so you can change the bootmode to 5001 and reboot. A custom bootloader will let you do this easily but considering you don't have one you need to use adb instead.

So, without a functioning bootloader I won't even be able to get to the twrp to access my back up I made. Nice. Just bought this damn thing yesterday. I'm kinda missing the one-click jailbreak software from my old iphone a few years back!

Thanks. It answered some of my questions. I guess it helped me relax a little, too. I know this is a problem that can be fixed. Just need to dig in an try each suggestion until I find one that works.

I recently rooted my sons Kindle fire 2 using TWRP, all was going ok until reboot when screen would flash every couple of seconds, flashing the kindle logo even when at the carousel screen etc.. also slow and slow to react to touch of the digitiser screen. From here I think I have got it terribly wrong and have wiped the KF of its OS and with it also stuck in fastboot.
I have made wrong selections on TWRP, then used TWRP command to boot the KF into fastboot. Now have no way to get it out of fastboot, only recognised on windows 7 device manager as Kindle Fire - Android ADB interface and also as a Other Devices - coprocessor which has no recognised driver.
Please note: i think I used nearly all options in TWRP and this is why I think I may have wiped the OS from the KF.
The fastboot screen is the traffic light logo, the green light is the only light that flashes!
when holding for 20 secs then powering back up it boots straight to fastboot after 1 sec of kindle logo showing.
Has anyway managed to save a KF2 from this state?

Ok, firstly I feel bad to all of you who do have a bricked Kindle but I have no idea how my Kindle has now recovered!
I bought another Kindle Fire as I made the conclusion that I had totally made my son's unusable. Tried all the recovery programmes with no joy. Was permanently stuck in fastboot mode with the assumption that no OS was on it after deleting all by accident.
My plan was to use the replacement box and put the bricked Kindle in it and return it to the store where i got the new one from, explain to the staff member that my son had just purchased this the other day and on start up and registering the device he was then informed that the Kindle needed to update the firmware. On reboot this Kindle would always show this fastboot screen, explain that I had a look also and could not get it back to its normal state. So I went round but switched off the Kindle first, informed the staff member of what has happened at the same time handing it over to her whilst switching on. I noticed that the Kindle logo as normal would come up but normally within a second it would go to the fastboot screen. This did not happen and I was like twat u twat you have brought round the new one by mistake! right enough the Kindle started up with the original first setup state. So I got myself away as quickly as possible and thought I will just do the same at another branch but this time put the right Kindle in the box. So now back at the house made a cup of tea and sat down, the Kindle which I left behind was on the table next to me and was switched off, I pressed the power button for some reason on it, to my surprise I was welcomed with also the orignal new set up screen! This was the new Kindle!!!!!!!!! I did take the bricked Kindle to the branch and for some reason it was now working, I have even just updated it from to 10.2.6 as it was on 10.2.0 with no issues, turned it on and off nearly 10 times all is perfect!
Unbelievable totally unbelievable! do not understand how the Kindle is now back in play!
I have rebooted tried all options of KFU, KFFirstAide etc etc..... always instantly rebooted in fastboot state! even upto an hour before going round to the shop it was still doing the same, I also tried to electrocute the Kindle so the mainboard would be fried! cant be believe it!

Of course, I din't make a backup, and so I went to another thread and someone stupidly said to wipe the system. Now I'm left without an OS, as TWRP tells me. I don't know how I am going to fix this, as I can't post a thread because I have less than 10 posts.

Surely you just need to flash CM10.1 again?
Normally it happens when you flash a custom ROM over the KF2 standard rom. Wiping system and flashing cm10.1 again should allow you to boot, or you might have to do a factory reset to wipe the leftovers out.

Hi Everyone
As a new user here, thanks in advance for any help that you can give me.
I've got a KF2, running 10.4.1 (I think, or maybe 10.4.3) - it's rooted, but generally stock apart from that (no TWRP).
It was left with something playing and the battery ran down to nothing yesterday. Initially it would charge, sometimes with the red light on and sometimes not, but then it would start up and as soon as it got to the lock screen it would give a low battery noise and shut down.
After leaving it plugged in overnight it is now charged but it is getting stuck on the animated kindle fire boot logo.
If I plug it into my PC it is detected in windows and I can connect to it with ADB with no obvious errors on logcat. Easy options like clearing the dalvik cache don't fix anything (only AmazonPlatform and atlasframework get recreated in the dalvik cache before it sets into doing nothing).
Searching the forum here, there are lots of different avenues discussed for "stuck at boot logo" problems - I'd appreciate some pointers on the most sensible things to try.

Hello, it seems that you face the same issue as I met last week with KF2 that I got for free. The KF2 got a boot problem after a low bat event and nobody was able to get him back. I seems thats the same issue. While I wasn't able to establish adb i used fastboot with a homebuild factory cable. (Forget KFfirst aid) Take a look on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2698935 - After formating cash and userdata user let him charging for a while on the pc usb port. Next day he returned booting showing a untouched KF2 with factory setup. Rootet him and gave him a CM11. Grate tablet for free. Take care, after formating cash and user he doesn't came back imidiatly Let him for some hours in the fastboot screen blinking his green led on screen. Next day he came back booting. My suspicion is a sw bug regarding low battery events. After cash and userdata format he need to develop valid boot conditions regarding the battery or other stuff. Who knows... But after the procedure he came back without further flaws.

I tried restoring to 10.2.3 using KF first aide - after sitting in fastboot for ages downloading the images it flashed ok and then went back to the empty battery screen after it restarted. It stayed like that for so long I thought it was still broken, but eventually it booted back into the kindle launcher.
As I was going from 10.4 back to 10.2.3 I wiped the cache and userdata. Used ADB to get as much data off it as I could first - could I have safely used any of the KF first aide backups on it first?
One weird bit - I've rooted using bin4ry/qemu and used KF First Aide to disable OTA and install google play, maps etc, and now location services don't seem to work any more. Maps, Chrome, Silk, BBC Weather - they all give the location icon in the notification bar but then can't get a location fix.
This is why I don't use Amazon os... Seems like small things like this happen because we either forget to put something on the device that is needed or the os just breaks something like this out of nowhere. In my opinion its easier to avoid these kinda problems altogether by flashing cm but that's just my take, if you want amazon os then keep it. That sounded grouchier than I intended.

Stunts513, yes, AOS stucks out of nothing and your gone. On that way a got a kindle for free that entered in a boot loop after a low bat event and even USB recovery doesn't worked worked out by failing and access. Only fastboot and a CM makes that tablet working for real

I have a kindle fire hd 8.9 running the 8.5.1 version.
I managed to root it using the key root master app (i think it was an indonesian/chinese language, which was suggested by one poster), although it was kinda weird because it didn't install the superuser app. Then, i tried to install the 2nd bootloader and twrp using the fireflash app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277105. But somehow, i couldn't get it to fastboot mode, although it wasn't needed according to that thread. I flashed it using the fireflash app, however, i couldnt get it to go to the TWRP recovery. Then, i noticed that there was an option to go into recovery from the fireflash app, which i pressed, and now, i'm stuck in the bootscreen showing the kindlefire logo. i could turn it on and off, but that's it.
sorry, im quite a relatively newbie at this. from what i've searched, maybe the KFHD srt tools can help with this. Will it work even if i cannot go into fastboot mode?

hopefully you backed up all images first? i made that same mistake with fireflash to "boot into recovery" yep booted mine right into a brick, after several different types of "softbricks" i finally got mine back straight and now kinda scared to try the 2nd bootloader OP again, because idk which bootloader i am on right now and cant find a way to identify it! i will try to find the thread that got me back straight, give me a while

Thanks @Mike. It kinda reassuring to know that somehow you were able to fix your kindle. BUT i have a big problem, i was not able to back up the images (i wasnt able to go into fastboot, i think my windows 8 pc has a problem with that, or is it just me?). is it possible to use your images? (we're both 8.5.1).

First off you have got to get adb and fastbook working, if not you will probably never get it back useable. have you installed android sdk? if not go here >http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#Other< and download the android-sdk windows zip file and install, that should get your drivers going so you can access adb and fastboot. for help installing the sdk manager go here >http://developer.android.com/tools/help/sdk-manager.html< after sdk manager install check your C:/users/yournamehere/ folder and make sure it put a .android folder there (sometimes it don't) and it should be a file in there called android_usb.ini, if that don't get you hooked up to adb and fastboot (assuming you know how to check if adb and fastboot is working correctly) install the Kindle driver package found here >https://www.dropbox.com/s/c0w3po7r65fwltb/Kindle%20Fire%20HD%208.9%20ADB%20drivers.zip< and if STILL you can't get adb and fastboot working i will help you edit that android_usb.ini file(what i ultimately had to do to cure my fastboot woes on this windows 7 box) that i mentioned earlier in this post. once you get adb and fastboot working correctly i will try to help you get your KFHD back up. keep me posted and i will check back as regular as i can! Anyway, i was able to go into fastboot, yahoo! i was able to see that Jem-PVT-Prod-04 on the command prompt. (i used my windows 7 laptop, i dont know why i couldnt get it to go into fastboot while in win8). i'm beginning to have some hope now.

thats good news! adb and fastboot working now? i hope i helped in some kind of way! you can surely get it back straight now! and btw if you were successful in installing that 8.1.4 bootloader when it messed up, IT DONT GO AWAY! i flashed mine twice with MY factory backup images and still retained the 8.1.4 bootloader from Hashcodes OP. and retained root! anyway im so stubborn and determined to figure things out like this, i decided to try again only after i figured out i still had the 8.1.4 bootloader, and THE ONLY way i could figure out which boot loader i had was to load up fireflash again and see if it give me the RED WARNING in the first line about flashing or not flashing the 8.1.4, sure enough it showed no warning with 8.1.4 bootloader! SO instead of using fireflash i just used fastboot to apply the "stack override script" and flashed the freedom boot 8.4.6 image and the 2.7.0.0 TWRP and went smooth as butter, booted up in TWRP recovery and then rebooted several times to make sure all was good and then last boot in recovery i did a wipe with TWRP and installed CM11 and GAPPS zip and all has been good every since! :laugh: it really is a whole new tablet with CM11! :good: if you need more help i will do my best, trust me i know what it feels like to have the RED SCREEN and stuck in fastboot! keep me posted!

Thanks again @Mike. However, i wasn't able to do my factory backup images. and secondly, what did you use to restore the images? Did you use KKFA or the KFHD SRT? i'm sorry, i kinda scared now to proceed on my own.
From what i've read, you use the KFHD SRT for bricked devices USING a factory cable, is that right? from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254. Or do i use the KKFirstAide tool from this http://rootjunkysdl.com/?device=Kindle Fire HD 7in ?

no, you DO NOT need a special "factory cable" for the 8.9 inch just the regular cable that come with the KFHD 8.9 or ANY usb/microusb cable like the one that come with your kindle, it's nothing special to that cable. and although i tried using those utilities you mentioned in your previous post to fix mine, NONE of them worked for me! the only thing i used was adb and fastboot commands and a recovery image DOWNLOADED from a thread here, thats was what ultimately booted my kindle back up in "factory" recovery mode (NOT fastboot mode) and it went through a couple prompts (on the kindle screen) and using the vol up/down and power buttons to select and enter respectively to do a factory restore all from the kindle screen once i finally got it to boot into it's own factory recovery. do you have fastboot working? if so i think we can fix it! mite have to go to a IM kinda app or google hangout or something for realtime communication but i feel like it can be fixed!

My KFHD (Kindle Fire HD ) 8.9" (JEM) recently stopped working one day (about a month or 2 ago) while it was sitting plugged into a wall charger . Mine , since coming back to it while it was charging, stopped running and I can't remember if it was on or off while I charged it, but it's 100% stock and now it only boots as far as the non-animated part of the "Kindle fire" logo screen, and stays there indefinitely until the battery dies , or until I hold down the power button long enough to shut it down. I'm pretty sure it's either bricked (for whatever reason) , or has some part possibly broken on it (internally) ?
--- sidenote: one time I was given a case for a tablet, and without thinking about it, tried to see if my 8.9 inch model fit inside it and it didn't. Without forcing it in, as far as it did get in, caused my KFHD to reboot on its own?!
my only question here is , Is this a similar enough case , or is there anything else I should do to fix this? my device beeps on multiple computers I've attached it to , notifying it was detected by windows, and about 1/4 second later it dings the disconnected sound and I've never managed to get KFHD SRT (of any version) to work for me at all. Fastboot does not detect my device, even after installing drivers (have attempted this on a windows 7 64 bit computer, and a windows 8 64 bit computer, neither have shown any sign of functionality with fastboot)

I dont think this is the same case @Umisguy as you have not tinkered with your tablet (100% stock), while mine happened while trying to install a custom ROM. Maybe the amazon guys can help you?

I got in to the same trouble able to mess up the KF and get a redscreen but used KFHD SRT to reflash the 8.1.4 system image, boot image, recovery image but now I ended up in the boot loop mode where it shows reboot kindle or Reset to factory Dafaults but as I flashed every thing am unable to reset to factory. As I got the tablet recently it came with 8.5.1 so I need to try with the latest image I can get.
If there are any suggestions i can try please let me know.
Which stage of bricked are you at? I don't exactly understand how far you got or didn't get? Red screen? Orange kindle screen? Boot loop? If you can give a little more detail I may be able to help

I was on 8.5.1 when i did mine, BUT the boot image you will be using is the freedom BOOT image is 8.4.6 from Hashcodes thread and the "2nd" BOOTLOADER is 8.1.4 also from Hashcodes thread.....I also have "my" STOCK BOOT IMAGE from 8.5.1 from my backup i did BEFORE i started this OP

I am at the boot loop where it shows the kindle reboot or factory restore option and it loops into that screen forever. Before that I hit with a redscreen and able to get the device into this loop mode by using the 8.1.4 system image, boot , recovery images. Now I ended up in this boot loop so I wonder If I have the actual 8.5.1 system,boot,recovery images I can flash them in the fastboot mode on the device. Also another issue am facing is ADB command cannot recognize the device even though am in the fastboot mode.

I went through this same mess SEVERAL times with my kindle before I finally got it straight! Bricked mine several times, once to the point I thought it was toast! So I no how you feel! 1st thing u need to know is adb only works when device is booted up in the os, that's why you getting device not found, but fastboot will work as you know, if you successfully flashed the 8.1.4 boot loader then its there to stay at least in my findings, after flashing back all my stock images and multiple factory resets I still had the second 8.1.4 bootloader installed. ok @krishnasanga go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37278819&postcount=193 and grab the boot image from step 3 and the recovery image from step 4 and place those in C:/ or wherever you have your adb and fastboot tools, should be in C:/ to make things easier but don't HAVE to be if you know how to enter correct paths in the command prompt. IGNORE all the Kindle First Aide stuff, you will just flash these with regular command prompt running as ADMIN (right click command prompt,click run as admin) start at step # 6 (ignore first aide stuff) and open command prompt running as admin and go from there EXACTLY as it says with kindle plugged up to usb and powered OFF. most likely HOPEFULLY you will not have to go past the reboot in step 8 and you will be in factory recovery and will be able to "reset to factory settings" assuming the recovery file is flashed successfully, if you do get to step 8 without issue and get to the fastboot erase userdata -i 0x1949 command, don't panic if it seems like it's taking a long time, i have seen this userdata erase take up to 40+ minutes! IF you get that far and userdata gets erased properly the next command to reboot "should" put the kindle into factory recovery where you can "reset to factory" and will not keep looping. GOOD LUCK! hope this helps and works out for you and i will be around the rest of the evening if i can help let me know and i will try

IGNORE all the Kindle First Aide stuff, you will just flash these with regular command prompt running as ADMIN (right click command prompt,click run as admin) start at step # 6 (ignore first aide stuff) and open command prompt running as admin and go from there EXACTLY as it says with kindle plugged up to usb and powered OFF. most likely HOPEFULLY you will not have to go past the reboot in step 8 and you will be in factory recovery and will be able to "reset to factory settings" assuming the recovery file is flashed successfully, if you do get to step 8 without issue and get to the fastboot erase userdata -i 0x1949 command, don't panic if it seems like it's taking a long time, i have seen this userdata erase take up to 40+ minutes! IF you get that far and userdata gets erased properly the next command to reboot "should" put the kindle into factory recovery where you can "reset to factory" and will not keep looping. I tried with this new boot and recovery images but still stuck in the loop , can you upload your backup files of 8.5.1 system.img,boot.img,recovery.img I think that will be my last shot to try to unbrick this device.
