Hi Dandun, has this been happening since you unboxed your device? If a factory reset doesn't fix it i'd take it back for an exchange

I think you should restart your device. If it continues, there is a hardware failure.

Does anyone else still have this problem?
My note 8 will erratically become unresponsive where the only inputting it allows is via the S-pen. Or i turn it off and on again.
This is becoming quite annoying and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have done a factory reset and the problem still occurs.

Perhaps it's an app that you installed? I'd check by uninstalling all apps and see if that fixes the problem. If it does, then you know it was one of your apps and you'd probably have to find out which one by trial and error.
If not, then it's probably defective and I'd take it back for an exchange.

Thanks for the reply. I just did a factory reset again and it happened immediately after it automatically updated all the preloaded apps. Looks like I'll take it back on Monday for an exchange.

HTC One X Screen won't turn on, touchscreen still work???

I have been using the HOX for over 2 months now but this morning my phone display suddenly doesn't turn on even the backlight key still on and touchscreen still work ( when I sweep my finger up the unlock sound still play, and I can even adjust the volume of the phone, etc... ) I have no ideas if this is a software or hardware problem and how to solve it, I'm still on Stock Rom, Stock Kernel,... Please help me
try to reboot pressing power button for 10 seconds, if it'll not work, it can be hardware problem, as i understood you haven't unlocked it, so you can send it to htc and they will repair it, or if you can, you can change it by yourself,
have you tried starting in bootloader and factory resetting?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Really weird, it feels like the phone has woke up but the display still "think" that it still in standby mode
Hardware fault for sure.
Same Problem
Hey, ive been using my international HTC One X for about two months too now and there have been no problems. ever since the update to 4.0.3 ive been facing exactly the same problem. The screen does not turn on a lot of the time but the touch is active. Have you found any solution to it?
It would be great if you could help me out.
Thanks

I have the same problem now. Using it completely stock, the screen doesn't turn on. Well.... Except for the times I visit the Vodafone shop to get it fixed....
Their first reaction was a defect in the screen, so they ordered a new one. I brought it yesterday again and it is now in for repair.
I don't know if this will solve the problem. How did they fix yours?

hey guys
I had this problem a month ago, i know its frustrating.
anyway the only solution is factory rest from boot loader and flash RUU (worked for me)
the first time i had it, i did a factory reset, all my pics music were gone, phone went back to normal( stock, locked)
after a day the problem appeared again, second rest.
flashed RUU and the problem is gone. thanks god i have been using my HOX about a month science that problem and every thing is working great.
im sure its a software issue and I recommend every one to back up their files(pics, music)
just flash RUU and good luck
Lol, exactly the issue I had recently had with mine. Sent it backto htc, let's see what they would do about it.

My colleque has the same issue with his One X.
It started with suddenly everything on his screen looking "zoomed in", so everything double size, looking ugly as a mofo, and not usable. After locking the sceen and unlocking again, it was fine.
Monday suddenly also screen didn't want to turn on anymore. Did the hard reboot for him, and it worked again... Untill he locked his screen and wanted to unlock, same issue.
Also, that time when doing the hard reboot, screen didn't turn on at all. Did another one, and worked again.
He's now sent it in for repair, this definately sounds like ahrdware issue, even full reset through bootloader didn't help.

Yup, exactly the same problem I'm having, I sent it to HTC, they said they fixed it by replacing the motherboard, but now it is happening again, I will have to send to HTC again.
This just happened to my phone... Has anyone else solved it? Is reset and flashing RUU the solution?

I have the same problem right now.
It started last week when I was using Flipboard and suddenly everything started zooming in and stuff (same as mhulsegge above). It was resolved by locking my screen and unlocking it.
Last night, i've been getting the black screen when I try to unlock my phone. The touchscreen still works but the screen is just blank. It turns on if I keep locking and unlocking, but it's getting annoying.
My phone is an international One X (duh) bought in Hong Kong and I'm currently living in Canada so it would not be possible to send it back for repairs. Plus my phone is rooted and I am currently using the latest MIUI ROM (2.9.21). I have been using an app called "Sleep" which tracks your sleeping patterns. It requires you to place your screen face down on your bed when you sleep and the accelerometer will track your sleeping patterns and wake you up at the most optimal time. I assume that for the accelerometer to work the screen has to be on, so I am wondering if this can be a screen malfunction (overheat or overuse) problem since the screen has been on for so long (every night when i sleep for around a month).
Since sending it back is out of the question for me because of where I am living right now and I have voided my warranty, I am downloading other ROMs as we speak and seeing if it is a problem with my ROM. I will keep you guys posted.
-edit- I have tried factory reset and reinstalling my ROM (with a full wipe). Still doesn't work.
It´s probably not your rom since I use CM10 hand have the same problem and others have even been running stock and had this problem. The only one who seems to have solved this (at least in this thread) flashed RUU, so guess I´ll go try that now...
Would be great to hear if anyone else has solved it, and how!
edit: This has to be a hardware problem, if I push on the screen it starts working! Its like something is loose, and when i press on the screen it gets connected again.

Good tip, but I tried a gentle two-fingered push (zoom pinch) and the backlight turned itself on with very little pressure, certainly not enough to flex the screen. I believe that it is a state issue related to zoom, but will try again and report if the issue returns.
Screen black after replacement lcd display unit
Hi,
My HOX touchscreen was broken, the touch and everything was still working. I ordered a replacement lcd display Unit and replaced the complete display and touch. After replacement the screen is completely black but the phone still works. The touch buttons on the bottom still work and i can use the volume buttons. I replaced the lcd display unit very carefully and i am sure nothing is broken etc. So the touch is working but the screen is black. I tried 2 display units and both show me a black screen.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Did i forget to do something during the replacement?
Please, i need some help with this issue.

[Q] samsung galaxy nexus screen random touch points near controls

so I purchased my Samsung galaxy nexus in September 2012, in Feb I unlocked the boot loader and loaded on 4.2.1, this allowed my phone to get over the air updates.
Now recently I have this annoying problem with the screen, the bottom half of the screen randomly touches areas of the screen as the main back home and recently opened apps buttons are there they are continuously pressed and makes the phone extremely unusable. I did the soft reset a few times but this still happens, I've even loaded the 4.2.2 again but it still happens. Is there anything else I can do to try sort this out? is it possible its a screen issue? sorry if this has been posted before I did watch the noob video and I did try look but couldn't find one similar to my problem.

Unresponsive screen after wake?

Has anyone else had an issue where the lock screen is unresponsive after you turn it back on? Here's the scenario:
1. Using tablet.
2. Let the screen time out normally or press the power button to turn off the screen.
3. Wake the tablet either with power or home buttons.
4. Screen is completely non responsive. Doesn't register any of my touches on the screen. Have to power off and on the screen multiple times before it allows me to unlock the screen. Orientation doesn't seem to matter.
I have a brand new WiFi only edition, model P600. I immediately did the three small OTA updates Samsung pushed to me as soon as I first turned the tablet on, but I'm pretty sure it was happening before, as well.
Anyone else? Haven't seen mention of this issue here so far.

Never had this problem on my Note 10.1
Yours could be a just a software issue - Try doing a factory reset and see if its anyway better if not then go back and get it exchanged.
P.S I have had this issue just recently on my S3 and this was after doing a recent update (which then got cancelled due to it causing lag and errors on peoples S3's) so I just need to find the time to factory reset it and all should be good (in theory)

Yeah, I was afraid of that. No joy on the factory reset. I'm rooted and so the Knox stuff is tripped and shows "modified." Hope that doesn't come back to bite me. (Btw, issue was apparent from first boot - before I rooted.) I'm about to go find the factory firmware and ODIN it back on here so at least there's no trace of SuperSU and all the bloatware is back. I think my parents got the Note from Amazon, so hopefully they won't look too closely anyway.
Thanks for the reply.
FWIW, I've tried factory reset, flashing firmware straight from Kies (UEUBMK1), turning off Smart Stay, Palm motion, Reading mode, and I'm the only user registered on the device. No joy on anything. Just going to have to send it back to Amazon for replacement.
Have you tried disabling Daynote?
I've found that when I freeze Daynote the magnetic sensor from eg the book cover case don't work anymore.
My train of thought is that maybe your magnet sensor is defective and Daynote ends up in an endless loop?

Screen and the capacitive buttons isn't responding to touch although the screen is active and working. This always happens every 10 minutes. Really need your help guys.
What do you think is the problem? Is this a faulty Zenfone 2? This is not rooted. Using Stock ROM with latest update. I'm currently doing a factory reset. Will update later. Thanks

I got this solved. It seems there is an error on the sim 2 tray.. The screen being unresponsive only happens if there's a text from sim 2 or a call from sim 2. Its not always happening but its really annoying if it happens since you have to wait for minutes in order for the screen to work again or you have to turn phone off. Now I only use sim 1 tray and never experienced the problem anymore.
This looks like a software bug as many users are complaining about this in asus zentalk forums.

Hello. I'm currently having the same problem with my zenfone 2, but I don't understand... how do you 'factory reset' the phone?
And is there any other way to fix this problem other than resetting the phone?
Read #6 post, even factory resetting could not solve the unresponsive touch screen issue. If you want no screen issues, dont use the sim 2. Try setting your mind that zenphone only uses 1 sim. Haha. Only use sim 1. You'll have no problem on unresponsive screen everytime there's a call or message coming from sim 2. Asus has yet to release a software fix for this as many are encountering this problem

I hope Asus fixes this problem real soon.
So, so far there is really no way to fix this yet? Because anyway, I'm not even using sim 2. Now what do I do...
I am also facing screen freezing issue due to SIM2 in my Zenfone2. I did a factory reset and the problem still persists. Is it that the phone is not suitable for dual SIM. Either it unfreezes after a min or so I had to hard boot it since the restart option on touch screen is not working. Phone per say is never frozen except the screen.
Can anyone suggest a solution on this forum
Touch freez issue on incoming call on sim 2
Having the same touch freez issue since i changed my sim 2...
Temporarily i am using zenmotion "hands up" feature to pick calls....
Waiting for asus to resolve the issue...
Touch freez issue
accidentally my screen got cracked, so i replaced the display. Now no more touch freez...
I think its a hardware related issue....
cm
This only happens to me with CM (12 and 13), not using SIM2 is not an option for me, so I'm stuck with stock rom.
I had this problem with the Asus Zenfone 2 View Flip cover. I removed the cover and the problem didn't repeat. So suspect something with the View Flip Cover app which causes the screen to freeze.
I'm having Ghost touch issues and screen becoming unresponsive before the ghost touches start to occur. I'm pretty sure that this is a hardware issue.. I've been able to fix the problem by turning off the phone and tossing it into the freezer for a few hours.
I'm going to re-flash stock rom and RMA and hope they actually fix the issue since it's intermittent.
I returned the phone for RMA last Friday and got it it back today.
I gave a detailed description of the issue on the rma form and they replaced the screen and so far it looks good. (I can tell it was swapped since some cosmetic damage on the lcd plastic bezel is gone)
Guess I'll give it a few days of normal usage to be 100% certain, but so far I can notice some touch response is better than the old screen too.
On a custom recovery / unlocked bootloader note (unofficial method)
Fortunately flashing back to stock was good enough and they didn't just send the phone back as an excuse.
I'm actually super impressed with the Asus rma process, and reckon the bad digitizers are a widespread and known issue since they replaced the screen so quickly and without hassle.
I'll definitely keep Asus as my hardware provider when I upgrade to my next phone and tablet!
guys.. i need help

I am also facing the same problem from last two weeks after upgrading the phone to latest firmware update. I tried factory reset, cleared cache bit nothing worked. In case the screen is not responsive then I have to switch of the screen by physical button at top to unnlock sometimes I do this 2 or 3 times to get the phone working again.

Screen Glitch/Flickering - Software or Hardware Issue?

I've been having this problem since the other day. The day before that, the phone's just working perfectly fine, tho, when I woke up in the morning, the phone just suddenly got this screen glitch. It only seems to be having a glitch in dark backgrounds... But given some time, the glitch disappears, but then again, if I turn off the display and leave it some time, the problem reappears.
Please look at the vid.
I don't think it's a hardware problem since the splash image isn't affected and the glitch seems temporary, but changing ROMs doesn't help. I haven't tried the stock firmware tho. Gonna download the stock fw and try it and see if the problem still persist.
Hi,
It's a hardware issue.
It's not related to any ROM you're using.
I've same problem as you and I decided to return it to stock and sent it to the nearest Asus Service Center (in Makassar) via my local seller because there is no one here in my location.
Sent from my GT-I9500
its not hardware issue if that not happen when you use screen recorder.
give a try then...
@baonxxx
This isn't related to software. I had this screen glitch even on stock (applies to everything: Splashscreen, etc) and caused difficulties on normal usage.
By general you can trigger this screen glitch by let the phone heating for a period of time, like let the phone idle for hours, charging, or let the screen on around the time. *only on affected devices*
You may need to read OP once again.

hhmm, not really everything, only glitches on dark backgrounds... seems like the screen on my phone's having a problem on dark backgrounds.
it is definitely a HW issue. did your phone ever fell on the ground?
this usually happens when there is loose connection between the mainboard and the display.
if you haven't void the warranty, send it for repairs, otherwise open the phone and fix it yourself (just detach and properly reattach the display connector, and make sure it's grounded properly).
@pecholino
Only unlocking the bootloader with official method provided by Asus could void the warranty.

damn it's a HW issue and it's getting annoying... gonna send it back for repairs... damn I didn't even dropped the phone once, so much for ASUS.
It happens with me too. On stock firmware. But is very rare and temporary. Turning off the screen and then again waking up solves it.

I don't think this is a hardware problem as so many people are having this problem.
This problem happened to me the next morning after I updated to 2.20.40.168 I didn't drop me phone in between the time I updated and the time I first seen it happen. I've already sent my phone in and Asus replaced my motherboard. I got it back and problem was still happening.
The problem may go away for you if you set Developer Options, Disable HW Overlays but the setting does not seem to persist after a reboot.
quick settings
I noticed another remarkable phenomenon. When I open the quick settings, the defect is gone. But I only can operate in the quick settings, nothing else.
The screen freezes until I open the quick settings. -
I have reinstalled all software, even the boot partition. The defect already occurs in the splashscreen and fastbootscreen. -
I have opened the plug connection to the screen and connected again. -
So far everything in vain. -
ASUS claims, it is a defect on the motherboard. - I am afraid they are right.
It is a hardware issue. The problem is with the screen, precisely, the multiplexer on the screen. But since it is a part of the LCD itself, you will have to get the entire display module replaced.
Replacement displays are available on eBay/Amazon and you can get instruction guides on YouTube.
If your phone type z00AD Try downgrade your rom only to 2.12.40.11.. its solved my problem..
