[Q] Sim Card not detecting. - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Recently, my brother got a new phone and its better than the S2 so he gave me the S2, I inserted my sim card after I wiped everything and flashed this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2177052. It doesn't detect my sim but my old phone does. Is there anyway for the S2 to detect it?

Options
A. Format sd card but first save files somewhere
B. Reflash rom see if it fixes it
C. Try new rom and see if it still happens.
D. If you want the external sd storage to be the internal sd storage let me know.

Is your Baseband version unknown? I had this many times and a reboot fixed it for me

Sorry for being noob, but I don't know what a baseband is and, rebooting doesn't work. Flashing stock atm.
EDIT: I went back to stock rom, and still doesn't detect my SIM card. -_-
EDIT2: Sorry guys, my retardomness, I inserted the SIM card the wrong way lol, thanks though.

[HELP] My SD card can't load in Blackout ICS Incredible 3.0

Hi, first of all, sorry for my bad english.
So, here is my problem : I flashed the ROM "Blackout ICS Incredible v3.0" yesterday, everything works good except that each time I insert my SD Card (8Go), it says "the card was unexpectedly removed". I've already tried using another SD Card (2Go), but it has the same result. I tried to reboot my phone in hope it will work, but nothing. I don't know if it is the SD cards or the ROM ?? Could someone help please ? Thank you in advance for your help.
Same here only it won't mount on the ROM. I tested it with my tablet and its fine
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium HD app
I get the same issue on all ICS roms?????and on JB rom it works fine
i also had a spot of bother installing that one for a test ...................
solution - wipe everything sd, dalvic, system etc all of it, then put rom on sd/card and reinstall, dont let aroma restart just select no and the do it via recovery.

Shouldn't happen, rooting the phone should not cause this problem. I havr rooted my phone many times but it's still working fine. Which method of root did you use and for which firmware?
僕のLT18iから送られてきた
1. Reboot into recovery, wipe cache, wipe data. Shut down the phone
2. Change baseband with flashtool
3. Power on the phone
Report if it worked please
It isn't something related to rooting I think, maybe u can try out the following-
1.Check after removing sim for 15 mins and inserting it agn Properly inside.
2.If u have a stock rom backup, restore it and try.Check whether your phone is showing your IMEI number or not.Sometimes modem/radio files get wiped out.
3.Could be a hardware issue.Maybe your SIM tray is damaged - either one or more of the contact 'ribbons' is damaged.Check whether or not u can save numbers to your sim card.
4.Take it to your carrier's repair centre.

Sim not being recognized! Please help asap!

Hi guys, i have been using a ROOTED galaxy note 2 for quite some time now. my phone has been running on the jellybean 4.1.1 version, i decided to manually update to jellybean 4.1.2 with odin (through laptop) all went ok and i managed to upgrade properly. The problem i am having is that once i rebooted my phone (after update) i have been getting an error saying to insert my sim card....it will not recognize there is any simcard whatsoever. Also when i put thw sim card in another phone it works fine and i am able to receive texts etc. Can anyone please offer me some help as my phone is a massive part of my job (as i work on a client basis), and do not have the time to send my phone away for 2 weeks. Any insight would be awesome im up for trying anything. Thanks again! Kes

Launcher, settings, customization), and has taken a very long time to get it here. If i knew updating my phone manually wouldof came to this i never would have done it lol atleast not at this time.
Backup your phone with titanium backup copy the files to pc and after reset.

Hi guys i have just factory reset my phone, i did this by turning the phone on holding the up volume + home + power button, the screen had a picture of the green android guy. I clicked the factory reset and the clear cache options (using the up and down volume buttons). My phone has now restarted asif it was brand new out the box, yet the sim card is still not working (and yes i took the sim out for the reset, only put it back in after i did the initial setup). Have i done something wrong?? did i not do a full reset? could someone please help as i havnt had my work phone for a few days now and its getting harder to keep track of my clients. Any suggestions would be amazing, thanks a lot!

The latest rom modifies the efs folder (where your imei is stored) so only some modems can read it. For unknown reason kies or ota updates don't modify the efs, so the new rom can't use the efs info. The solution is to flash back to an older rom other than dme4/dme6. Your sim will be recognized. I advise you to backup your esf folder and to awlays ve a copy of it

EFS folder mod only gives network error but in his case He says showing error "Insert Sim Card"
Anyway it is wise to flash an older rom or the same rom he was before on

When i click on mobile networks (through settings) it says "insert SIM card to access network services". When the sim is in properly. My phone also has a circle with a line through it at the top of the notification bar.

*#06# Type in keypad to find your IMEI number, compare with under battery compartment,if it is not same than may possible your network provider has block your number.

My business is done through clientele, so not having my phone has caused lots of problems the past few days, cant imagine how bad its going to be if i have to send my phone off for a week of two. Awesome cheers mate will try this when i get back! would that mean i would not have the newest update? or could i just flash the newest rom after?
Dude first thing is check if your Imei is corrupt. Go to about device/status and if it starts with 0049, this means it's corrupt and without a backup Samsung are the only ones who can fix as they have to replace the motherboard. If it is corrupt you could try moving your efs to SD card and then rebooting and then moving it back.

[Q] Is my SD card slot fried? Please help!!

Hi Guys,
I'm on Temasek's CM11, been using this Sony 64GB microSD card for over a year, and today, randomly while the phone was in use, I saw a message pop up, SD card unexpectedly unmounted. After that, it's not using up in the file systems, all the way down to the Recovery. I'm using TWRP.
I put the SD card in another Note 3 I have and everything seems to be fine on there, all the data is here.
So just posting here to make sure that is it safe to conclude that my SD card slot is fried?
And if so... What are my options... I have had the Note 3 for over a year and brought it off of Craigslist. It's unlocked and use it on AT&T...
So any ideas or advice friends? And yes, I pressed the SD card firmly in my Note 3 many times...
Thank you!
Anyone guys?
have you tried a different sd card? Also is your phone rooted if so try to access it in recovery. if so then something in the system messed up and a restart of your phone could fix it or a new rom. good luck hope it's not fried :-\

Thanks bud for your response! Yes, another sd doesn't show up in the phone, but works in another phone. And no, Recovery does not pick it up either .
Looking to move to another ROM, want to try Android 5.0, but really want to make sure I can come back to KK if I want to. The fact that sd is not showing up in recovery is really discouraging, but also, there are no signs of sd card slot being fried either like a smell or anything.
Please keep responding folks, if you have any ideas! Thank you!
Your using CM11 killed the sdcard slot in your Note 3. No use crying after spilled milk. Stick to stock rom next time.

The SIM card holders on Zen 2 are pooh !
I can count on one hand how many times I removed my SIM in 15 months and my holder has knackered.
Now, I push SIM to where it should lay in the holder, then run cellotape over it...Then keep pushing and sticking it till it's gives a signal.
All's fine n dandy after
I think it is well mount into the slot. Two slots are not responding. It keeps showing not installed.
I cant figure out what problem it is.

You may a hardware issue but this is i would handle it before looking at hardware problem.
1. Do a hard reset
2. Download fresh rom from ASUS website, rename it to SD_CARDUPDATE and place in the root of your sd card
3. Reboot. To recovery and it should start update automatically
4.Flash a full rom,

Now I stuck on flashing a new rom.
I have installed twrp recovery and wiped the phone. Then when I connect the phone to my pc, pc keeps saying 'Unknown USB Device (Device descriptor request failed)' whatever I use sideload or fastboot mode. Also I cannot mount otg or MicroSD so now it is dead. What should I do?
