[Q] Leaked JB ROM's impact on custom JB ROMs (S/SL) - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Since we have several leaked ROMs, recently, Jelly Bean with very stable support for the Xperia S devices, does this mean the driver issues on custom ROMs like CyanogenMod, Paranoid Android, AOSP, AOKP, MIUI, etc. is resolved for Jelly Bean? Meaning, are we getting the same driver support as the original firmware from Sony, based on these leaked ROMs? Are the custom ROMs utilizing these drivers in anyway? Or do we still have to wait for Sony to officially release the source code for Jelly Bean?

They need the kernel source from Sony, which should come shortly after the official release. It will make 4.1.2 AOSP (and based) ROMs really faster. Might help 4.2.2 ones also.

[Q] Miui with Jellybean 4.1.1?

I noticed there is a Miui rom with the latest, latest Jellybean 4.1.1. How is that possible, when it seems like Jellytime is a work in progress? Is there a reason Miui roms are easier to create?

JB on locked BL

Hello. Sadly, mine Arc S is not unlockable. So my question is can I install jellybean on it?
Also I googled this but the data is old.....is there a mod to make this great phone record in 1080p?
jb custom roms are still in alpha/beta stages so upgrading to them from your locked bootloader wouldnt be great.
try out custom ICS roms by diffrent devs there are many in dev section. many of them even work on unloacked bootloaders. subsequently you can shift to aokp fxp jb roms with more stable releases .
Phones with locked bootloaders can only use ROMs that are stock based... that means that you would need Sony to release JB stock ROMs first... which they have announced they won't, so, just like my Xperia Pro with locked bootloader, we won't have a JB ROM.
On the other hand, there are some great ICS ROMs out there that can be flashed on phones with locked bootloader that feature a lot of JB system apps, they are great, you should try them... they are far better than stock ROMs anyway

[Q] Jelly Beam From google source? (vanilla AOSP)

What about building JB or ICS from source for DesireZ?
I remember virtuous quattro was an ICS rom build from vanilla AOSP. It was faster and cleaner than CM9 based rom.
I think a pure aosp build of JB or ICS with new drivers it would speed up a lot these new android version on our devices.
I'm ready leave all CM feature for a pure google AOSP with some speed.
I think you'll probably still need all the tweaks that the andromedus team has done to make it a dd

I use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605016 and I'm very happy with it - 4.1.2 but also has goodies that you need anyway. Clean source ROM would nice though - just to try it out I agree - but I personally would miss a lot of stuff.

Question about CM10, AOKP, Parandroid

Tittle said all! So we got new update to Jelly Bean, I was wondering if we can use them if we run on stock jelly bean?
What you're running on your phone prior to flashing any of those ROMs is irrelevant - they provide you with a new (Jelly Bean) system environment, after all.

[Q] Any non-CM10 based JB ROM?

Hi,
is there any non-CM10 based JB ROM around? Even though I quite like CM I think a pure AOSP-style JB would also be nice for Arc/S users.
How comes all (?) JB-ROM are CM based? If you wanted to start from scratch with AOSP code, what is it that you might be missing and take that from CM10? What is it you had to develop yourself?
Thanks, Stevo
Sony haven't released a JB Rom for any of their devices nor there are any sources yet so all we hav is the CM source to work on
