[Q] Change system status to official? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

So after installing TWRP with Odin and rooting, my system status shows custom. I see there is a method for the I9505 to change it back to official. Is there a method yet for our M919? Coming from the Galaxy S2, I never had to deal with this.

Have you tried to locate and delete those files ?

Read the thread you referenced.....

Ok, thats what I thought you might mean. From the way I read it, those Knox files don't change the system status, just stop some kind of annoying message. I only have 2 of the four he mentioned anyway.
According to his post, to reset the system status you have to Odin his I9505_OFFICIAL_STATUS_MOD.tar.md5 file. I don't really feel comfortable flashing a file for the I9505 phone on my M919. And then after flashing that file you have to use Triangle Away to reset the binary counter. The M919 isn't listed as compatible yet.

Hopefully the triangle away app will include the S4 soon.

Returning to stock - selling phone.

I am currently on the aokp rom and i need to sell the phone and wipe everything on the phone. I cant seem to find a guide that does this perfectly. Ideally I would like to return to 100% stock as if the phone is brand new out of the box.
Any suggestions?
Flash one of these http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33570269 and you should be good.

Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746665 and follow the instructions - watch the video from wwjoshdew and it's super easy. Get a stock rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 - this thread also provides instructions on how to revert back to stock.
You could always sell the phone the way it is - the aokp rom is a definite feature..

Yea but i think the average person is going to be like wtf is this. Most people don't know about custom roms and phones. (at least i dont think they do)
So i flashed the stock firmware and it keeps hanging at the samsung boot screen it does the att boot animation then gets stuck at the samsung one.
I put the md5 fild in the pda box on odin. thats correct right?
I'm trying to download the file from another mirror maybe i got a corrupt download.

No, just pull the battery and reboot into recovery. Do a wipe data/factory reset then reboot and you should be good to go.

How to make system custom to official(Galaxy S duos)

My phone shows status system status- modified.
How can I make to official again?
Please help me out.
Model- Samsung Galaxy S Duos(GT-S7562)
I have already reset binary counter to zero.
Rooted via "Galaxy S Duos S7562 Droidiser Rooting Kit" I found on one of the websites,
(used Odin3 v1.85 and flashed with recovery.tar and then installed CWM-Superuser-3.1.3 via clockmode recovery)
i dont think there is a known solution because i think it is something that samsung made to see if you have modified your phone in a way that you lose your warranty, like the speedometer in a car that is illegal to manipulate.

My try worked to success
I had reset binary counter using Triangle Away app.
But still system status was modified. and checking tick for modified system in Triangle Away didn't work either.
Finally, one of thread here, as per their suggestions, I did download the Firmware from the internet.
So I downloaded latest firmware from sammobile.com.
and through Odin, I flashed that .mdf file into my android.
and whoa....... my system status became 'normal', and the peak was, I got my deleted system apps back too.
I am happier now.
Thank you to all for helping me out. Thanks a lot.
(Look, I am not at all a professional in android system format and all, but I did know how to root using internet by all those kits and their procedures. In my rooted phone, Samsung Galaxy S duos, I did tried to map all possibilities of all applications and feast of super-user. But my curiosity about rooted phone was blown away when system status shown was 'modified' as well as binary flash counter to '11'. So I searched a lot for these to get normal. )

Yeah exactly. Now, my phone shows, in downloading mode,
custom binary download: no
current binary: samsung official
system status: official
and when checked in settings-about device-status, its shows,
system status: normal
I think these notifications are enough to show the phone is in warranty. and
Look, I have used 'Galaxy S Duos S7562 Droidiser Rooting Kit' included files
1. odin
2. CWM-Superuser-3.1.3
3. CWM-SuperSU-v0.96
4. recovery
5. stock_recovery
To root, I unzipped odin.zip, as per their stated procedures, started odin, flashed with recovery.tar file, and then through recovery mode I flashed CWM-Superuser-3.1.3 file and I got supersuser3.1 app installed, I got my phone rooted. I don't know what this procedure is called as in technical android, but I have followed these steps as per there suggestions. and finally checked root status using root-checker app, it shows 'root access success'.
(I refered :droidiser.com/2012/10/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-s-duos-install-cwm.html)
and to un-root, as per internet website suggestions, I just choose an option from superuser3.1 app that un-installed app as well as makes phone un-rooted automatically.
and again through root-checker app checked for status of root access, it said 'no root access'.

You're very welcome. Could tell me some more info that how did you managed it root the phone without increment in counter? I'd be very thankful.
A method I did read on some website when first time I have decided to root the phone, unfortunately, I were not able to follow instructions properly, or the method was wrong, and my phone's binary counter incremented. I think I failed to start the phone in clock mode recovery, pressing buttons at the same time was difficult. I got the timing later. LOL.

I'm not longer rooted. I don't see why the flash counter would make my device "modified". On my S3 I had a huge flash counter and when I'd flash stock I was able to install OTA's.

Do you by any chance have a microSd card plugged in? I'd recommend you take it out, reboot and see if you still get the same message. Also delete any rom, root files you may have on your Internal & external SD.

Get Triangle Away and use CF-Auto-Root to root but leave you with stock. Reset the flash counter and use the workaround which delays loading superuser on each startup. That makes your phone report "official". Then factory wipe.

This is a great tutorial, however, just following this tutorial alone, will restore you to stock with a CUSTOM bootloader status.
Use triangle away to reset the flash counter, once triangle away is finished, it will ask if you wish to reboot to system, or reboot to download mode. Select download mode, then follow that tutorial.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I put my S4 in download mode checked the md5 of the suggested tar file but it failed again

Make sure that the cf-auto-root has a TAR extender.
If it's a zip file, Odin will not reconize it.
Odin needs the file with the TAR extender. *.TAR
Normally if you unzip cf-auto-root.zip you will find
the odin flashable TAR file inside the zip.
Good luck!

I believe the issue was trying to run ODIN and use CF from a thumb drive - Once put on the desktop, all OK - Thanks all. Now, if I could get an app that allows me to use an on screen nav bar rather than the physical buttons WITHOUT flashing a custom ROM... Although I will say that the new 4.3 eats up a TON of system mem (as opposed to 4.2.2...) kinda sucks but the apps to sd is great and, to be honest, I have used some awesome roms in the past but, generally, there is always something, even something tiny, that doesn't work right. I'd rather not F around with a CR just now but if you could advise me how to get an onscreen nav bar I'd be appreciative - I thought NOVA launcher may have it but no such luck

When you go into download mode do you have the "KNOX WARRANTY VOID 0x1" or something similiar after using cf-autoroot? This status will void your warranty.

The nav bar isn't a part of the launcher. It's built into the ROM. You need a ROM that supports it and I have no idea if the stock 4.3 does or not.
The new update comes with lock bootloader. I think to root it you will need to use vega root. I think. But I know it have a lock bootloader

root for 4.3 update
Hey guys, Ive tried to root my sg4 since i took the 4.3 ota update and can not get it to root. Odin freezes at <ID:0/005>Get PIT for mapping... wtf does that mean? Im following the instructions to the letter to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Not sure that this helps, but long story short I spent nearly 5 hours trying to unroot my 4.2.2 stock so that I could get the 4.3 update, since cyanogen didn't want to work (flashed but kept getting stuck at boot "circling" animation). Anyway, I used odin to revert to a stock image, then the phone took the tmo upgrade ota just fine, then I rooted again with motochopper. I've spent too much time (for now) tinkering with this phone, so I'll leave as is for now. I've got most of what I wanted (root, and app 2 sd, the reason why I wanted cyanogen to start with) good luck.

Did that trip the 0x0 flag in download mode?
Naw you can definitely add a custom recovery after the OTA to 4.3. I added CWM 6.0.4.4 Touch after I took the OTA. Just make sure it's a TAR and flash it in PDA in Odin. The way I did mine was download IMG2TAR then just get the img from clockworkmod.com and convert it. Took only a few seconds then flashed with Odin.
NOTE: It will flag your device as non-standard and warranty will be void. Everything will function however.
I'm not sure... if you tell me how I can check this, I will do it and post the results for you.

Yes, I just checked, it did trip it. I don't particularly care, in another 5 months I'll be out of warranty anyway. Plus I've got insurance, I can drown the phone and claim it that way if I need to. May not be the best solution or work for everyone.. but not tripping Knox just to avoid going out of warranty is not a concern for me, I want to do with my phone however I please, that's why I paid for it.

As far as I know and from my experience yes, you DO keep the root after going back to stock. However, make sure that once you go back to stock you FIRST check if you still have root, and then update OS if you are prompted/need to. From my experience with my S4, rooting after you get 4.3 will trip the KNOX thing, so beware of that as well before you proceed

[stock] Back to stock odin flashable tested file

Please have the file to unbrick if you soft-brick your phone SM-N910A

From a bricked device???.. why people are like this... I mean having this file help us in case we test something with our phone and we brick it... then you are back from a soft brick useless device to a stock state.

By any chance is it possible to throw this into The Kitchen, get rid of knox, add root binaries and rebuild back into a flashable zip to flash?

It would have to be an Odin flashable file as no custom recovery for att, and the locked bootloader would reject the tar file.
