[Q] Stuck on Splash Screen - CM10 - HTC One X

Hello All,
I have a Rogers HOX. Once rooted I proceeded to flash the file named "cm-10.1-20130312-NIGHTLY-evita.zip " found in the downloads section on cyanogenmod's website.
I then did a full wipe, flashed the ROM, flashed gapps and then hit reboot and chose "System".
Ever since, the phone just gets stuck on the CyanagenMod splash screen and stays there.
I try to get back into the Fastboot mode, but it doesn't do so. I hold the Power + Volume down button but the 3 capacitative buttons flash a few time, the screen then goes blank and stays that way until I remove my fingers from the Power + Volume down buttons and then the phone boots and goes to the CyanagenMod splash screen and stays there.
Also, I did not flash boot.img.
Any help on how to get my phone to work again?
Im a noob in these things and first time user with Android. All your help would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Flash the boot.img
And go to the appropriate forum section. This is all for the endeavouru and not for the evita
But try this :
Adb reboot bootloader
If that does not work, hold the power button & the volume - button together as long as it takes to see the bootloader. I know you tried this but it seems you didn't press one of the 2 properly.....

Oops

HTC one x bricked need help...

I just flashed a arhd rom a kernel and InfinitySound mod and then my phone was stuck in the htc quietly brilliant screen...
The main thing is i can't even enter the bootloader with "vol+power down" help please...
Keep pressing the power button for more then 5 second and you will see the 3 buttons blinking. After that phone will restart and then press volume down to enter in hboot.
Then look on xda a tool with witch you will flash a stock kernel.
Perhaps this is the solution for you

i tried it, but no luck... it still boots into the htc quietly brilliant screen.
Hold the power button to force a reboot. As soon as your HOX powers off press and hold vol down, keep holding until you enter hboot. It might take a few attempts
First boot can take awial I don't think your stuck its just loading

It's stuck not loading because I have waited 10 hours already. Also, I keep trying to get it into boot loader , but to no avail... tried 30 times already...
Without getting into the bootloader, there's nothing I can do...

Does your phone keeps rebooting?
If so, it sounds like you haven't flashed the correct boot.IMG
You need to flash the correct boot.IMG that is for the kernel you flashed.
-----
As for boot loader, why don't you just use the adb command?
adb reboot bootloader
As for the button combination not working, you need to hold both power & volume down at the 'exact same time', and don't release them until your boot loader screen shows - even if it does an extra reboot, keep them held!

I am having the same problem, and i forgot to backup my previous rom. I rooted, and unlocked my phone, then i tried to install the rom, it installed. however now it just stays in the spinning loading sign for CM10. Is there anyway of putting another rom on the >fake, ie internal> sd card, which cant get removed from the acctual phone? so then i can install that rom? i have tried reinstalling the rom but that didnt work

If you have cwm 5.8.4.0 you can mount the sd card as usb drive.
Don't forget to flash the boot.img that goes with the ROM.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You are probably forgetting to flash boot.img using fastboot from your pc, from your description. After flashing boot.img, issue a
Fastboot erase cache
Or you will most likely get bootloops.

Help I just bricked my one x can't even fastboot

I have unlocked my bootloader then install the recovery.
And I am flashing a ROM ,but as I came from Atrix the step was to flash from recovery
I didn't read the instruction and flash the ROM through recovery without flashing boot.img first
Now, I can't boot to my ROM (It stuck at HTC quietly brilliant screen)
So, I reboot it and try to enter fastboot ,but not either. I can't get to fastboot. pressing volume down and power
Then, I was unable to turn it off. I disassemble and take the battery out. and charge it for an hour now. But, still no luck can't get to fastboot.
Anyone can help me.
I am so dumb if I have read the instruction, I wouldn't brick.
I don't know what pure doing wrong, but holding down power and volume down will get you to hboot. From there you can go to fastboot and then flash the boot.img.
Not even hboot too. press volume - and power doesn't do anything for me. or do they need more battery?
Then you're doing it wrong or your buttons are broken.
Keep hold of volume even after it reboots. Don't let go until you're in hboot.
When I first installed custom ROM I made the same mistake and didn't flash boot.img separately, causing the device to just hang at HTC screen you described, or being in a constant bootloop. However I was able to get into bootloader and sort things out. I know it's something basic, but are you making sure you hold that volume down + power button long enough?
Oh GOD! I got it! It boot into hboot and I can fastboot now. I think the button are hard to press so, I can't press it correctly the first time. THANKS

Well if those didn't solve your problem what I did was let my M8 run out of battery and then plugged it into my computer holding power+volume down and that allowed me to get into the bootloader and then into fastboot. I then erased the cache and entered recovery where I had a backup ready.
I'm experiencing the same problem, and still working on solving it. But for those who are stuck in the boot screen and need to shut off their phone so that they can boot up into recovery (power + vol down), hold down BOTH volume buttons and the power button and the phone will shut off in a few seconds. I couldn't find this anywhere and was getting annoyed waiting for the juice to run out so I tried a few things and this worked.
edit: turns out it's just volume UP and power to 'battery pull' the phone, not both, although that will work because you're pushing on up

You can also try this if you're not willing to wait for the battery to drain. I also ran into that very same problem, being stuck on the htc splash screen.. However this is how I fixed it. Like one of the posters above i too held the volume button up while at the same time holding down the power button. My HTC One M8 would just reboot back to the splash screen. So, i went through all of the steps above again but this time as the screen went off still holding the power button down. I immediately slid my finger from volume up to down. I continued holding it in the volume down position until the boot loader come up. I selected recovery from there and did a cache wipe and restored a NAND backup. I hope this helps someone.
Found a pretty easy fix
It's a somewhat common problem as I can tell,w hen the device stops on the splash screen (where it says "POWERED by Android") ,, and it has a pretty easy fix, which does not require drain the battery or erase the cache from ADB and so on ! What you do is, you hold down Volume UP + Power Button and keep it pressed till the device will re-restart itself and will boot in to the system (unless you completely f-ed up your system).
Good luck
I have found a way

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power button until you see a black screen. As soon as you see it press the Volume Down key and the Power button at the same time. This should get you to your bootloader.

You might have to factory reset in recovery (vol up + home + power). I read you removed the power button, that's so not useful lol.
Maybe you'll be able to use ADB to boot in recovery or a jig to boot in download mode (if it gets to that point).
no luck

Hold all 3 buttons until he boots up (vibrate), then release the power, while still holding home+vol up. It should boot in recovery.
Depending on your carrier, you may be able to flash a stock ROM via Odin.
If you have the 4.3 bootloader, only flash a stock 4.3 ROM. If you have a 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 bootloader, you can flash either a stock 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 ROM via Odin.

Phone stuck in reboot loop

Hello,
I installed a custom ROM (ViperOneM8+4.6.1) on my M8, which is the international edition M8QL_UL.
I now suspect this ROM is not compatible, as the phone is stuck in a reboot loop - the white screen with the red text at the bottom appears, and then about 35 seconds later the screen goes blank and it restarts.
I've tried holding the power button down to try and turn it off, but it won't stop restarting.
I've tried holding the volume down + power buttons to enter recovery and it doesn't work.
Adb and fastboot don't work either - the phone isn't on long enough to appear on my PC.
Please let me know if there's anything I can do at this point?
Cheers.

Your device is not a M8 but a different device called M8s ....
Read this thread and get help there if you need to.

Oh dear, I think this is the issue. The ROM I used was for the M8, not the M8s.
Thanks, I'll try posting in that thread.

There is no button combo that boots into recovery for this device. I believe you mean the button combo to enter bootloader. Folks will often call this recovery, but bootloader and recovery are 2 completely different things (and this is an important distinction), and folks need to stop thinking they are the same.
Since the phone is bootlooping, just hold the vol down button during the next "loop" and you will enter bootloader.
Once in bootloader, then you can select to boot into custom recovery. Then restore your stock nandroid, if you made one before flashing the custom ROM (and you should always make a nandroid of the stock ROM before flashing a custom ROM).
If you didn't make a stock nandroid, you'll need to use RUU or find a stock nandroid that matches your firmware number.

Fastboot only works in bootloader-fastboot mode; adb only works in OS or recovery. So neither is ever going to work while in a bootloop. Get into bootloader as I've described above (and select fastboot); and you should at least be able to use fastboot.

Thanks for the suggestions and advice - I've got the Pandora Rom back on it now and won't be fiddling anymore I think.
I actually managed to get it sorted by holding vol-up and power for a good 15 seconds based on advice from the M8s thread, just in case any one has the same problem and vol-down doesn't solve it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63177320&postcount=658
Thanks again everyone, I'm been amazed by how helpful people on this forum are.

Power+vol up reboots the phone. You stated the phone was already in a bootloop, which means it was already rebooting over and over.
Vol down (just vol down, no need to hold power button) during any reboot will put you into bootloader. If it doesn't, its because you didn't hold vol down long enough.
