Any Talking Caller ID over A2DP? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I can't seem to find an app the will speak Caller ID over A2DP. My favorite app is Enhanced SMS + Caller ID+ because it uses the native Google Speech Recognition engine. SMS announcements come over the bluetooth connection but caller ID only through phone speaker. Seems most apps I've tried have this issue. Is it an O/S issue or specific to the phone or the bluetooth headset? (Im actually using Blue Trip to interface to my car's analog aux audio input.)

Thanks. I gave it a try and it didn't read my phone caller id through the Bluetooth speaker.

Supposedly this is a limitation in Android 4.1.x that there have been reports it is fixed/allowed in Android 4.2.x

This one will make sense for universal , as taking a call after seeing who is calling takes ages & FM with stereo will be a great value add.
Cheers Taurus.

how did you config it to display caller name? I left everything as it is - and played with the callerID checkbox. nothing changed it displays only the number.
But my original question was that I cannot use this headset with my notebook (WinXP), is it possible? I've tried widcomm 5.x, 4.x drivers so far. my bluetooh hardware is CSR chip.
So does HS-12W work with JasJar?

Calls with car dock..

Hey guys I have the official nexus car dock and was wondering if there's a way to get calls to come through the car speakers? I have a phono going from phone to stereo which handles music navigation etc fine but as soon as a call comes in it goes straight to speaker phone. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there a 3rd party app that can handle it better?

Shameless bump..

The only workaround I've found for this is to use SIP calling, i.e. set up a VoIP account and use that for calls - everything is routed properly through the dock audio output. This is nicely integrated in Android / Phone.apk, you don't need a third-party app.
Forcing regular GSM voice calls to go through the dock audio output might require some kind of kernel modification, I haven't found anything in the AOSP codebase that would change this behaviour.

Setting up a VoIP account does that mean they'd have to call me on a seperate number or will it push it straight through to my normal number?

Correct, a VoIP account would be a separate number, but depending on the provider and the type of number you might be able to set up forwarding (at the provider end) from your regular number to your VoIP number.
easiest solution and future proof to boot: get a bluetooth headunit !
Have a Kenwood KDC-BT60U, a pretty basic model, payed 200 for it, and it rocks: can access latest incoming, latest outcoming, missed, phone book, plus it has A2DP.
Get a bluetooth car stereo. Or some kind of interface kit. Google for it.

[Q] Caller Announcer for BT Headset

Hi,
I am using Plantronics M55 headset with G3. What I am looking is simple application, that will announce through M55 caller name.
I found many such announcers, but some do not work with bluetooth at all, some insist on announcing always, even if headset is not connected, some announce after big delay (and do not work with BT), etc.
So the question is - is there free/payed application that supports automatic announcing of the caller name through BT, and only if BT headset is connected ?
10x.

Hi,
Maybe try Tasker or a similar app to switch on/off the announcer app when your phone connects to your BT headset.

Caller ID over Bluetooth

I just switched upgraded from an LG G6 to the P2XL. I had read somewhere (just can't remember where) that Pixel supports Caller ID over BT. I have a set of around the neck earbuds and it would be nice to get notified who is calling me on an incoming call. I tried Enhanced SMS & Caller ID+ but it didn't read me the Caller ID over BT. Can this be done on the Pixels?
Thank you

Works fine on my Plantronics Bluetooth headset
Are you using the same app? Maybe I have something misconfigured.
FWIW: I'm using the Spigen Legato Arc
It depends on your BT headset and if it supports that feature. The Pixel had the profile.

Bluetooth Handsfree Loopback

I have a Bluetooth Handsfree Loopback with Malaysk 8.1 Rom included Bluetooth App on PX5.
Caller hears himself, I hear nothing.
Are there other Bluetooth Phone Apps I may be can set the Audio Channels manually?
I mean Bluetooth seems to work If caller Voice is rooted back to him Bluetooth in and Out
and Speaker and Mike work fine with Maps, Speak recognition and Answers spoken back, Music etc.
Probably only the different Bluetooth / Audio Channels are not properly connected.
No Tips about other Blutooth Phone Apps or Bluetooth Channel routing?
