im trying to cheat without downloading entire odexed framework to my phone, but try this file, its EXPERIMENTAL.
This is for ODEXED only and is EXPERIMENTAL:
download BOTH FILES below (download both incase u have to revert back to normal), move both files to your (external/internal) SDCARD
go into recovery
Flash zip " d_ap_test1.zip" using recovery
reboot
let me know if it works
if it doesnt work just flash "RESTORE_od_ap.zip" reboot and u will be back to normal
let me know if it works.

k thanks for testing, ive removed the files for now, im gunna have to flash the odexed system to my phone to get it to work, u might have to wait a day or 2 unless someone else wants to convert it. odexed files are a pain , i would try it today but im in the middle of a google wallet nfc experiment using the deodexed system which is the main reason i made this 4 way boot since i was tired of using terminal and adb to get into recovery.

No problemo, brother. Take your time and thanks!!!!

Here's the 4-in-1 Reboot Menu Mod for T-Mobile users running the DEODEXED stock Touchwiz rom.
Tested and works fine on deodexed build of JDQ39.M919UVUAMDB.
Feel free to use it in other roms, just give me some credit.
After you press Reboot, you get 4 options (Normal, Download, Hot Restart, and Recovery)
This is for DEODEXED only: Deodexed Download
just flash in recovery and reboot
i am no longer running odex version so we might have wait till the next time i have to wipe my s4 so i can use the odexed file dependencies to be able to make a odexed version.

Much appreciated here too. Had been using free app called Quick Boot that basically will do almost same.
Simply clicking on icon gives Reboot, recovery, Bootloader and Power Off options. For those also following along, the three button salute using volume up, home and power will also force a recovery. Anyways, thanks again for posting this.

So ODEXED is the stock rooted phones....
and DEODEXED is the Custom roms with a different framework.
So there is NO confusion for anyone.

actually a custom rom can still be odexed.
easy way to know is just go to your phone using root explorer or similar app and look at the /framework (and sometimes even system/apps) directory and if u see a bunch of ODEX files (files ending in .odex) then u are odexed.
If u do not see any odex files then u are deodexed (not odexed)

It's funny but (not trolling here folks so put the keyboards on pause for a sec. just pointing out a fact so bare with me) there are people that have been here for a long time (like myself and more so longer) that forget as newer devices make their way on to the market and in general more people find that they can do more with their devices than they ever dreamed, more find their way here and don't know what some of the inner workings are like or what to look for to start to learn as there is a ton to figure your way through even as advanced users.
Something simple as the apk structure in any device would be a new world for some one coming here from Apple we'll say and may not know that it matters. Patience and direction like @XeoNoX did here makes a huge difference on how new users find their way.
Now to the reason I decided to post is the flash worked great (Odex build, rooted, and everything else) and was wondering if anyone knew if triangle away was in the works for us? I don't mind it being custom but we all know there may come a time we need to take measures.

got deodexed MDL version going.

New camera from UVALH2

So I liked the ability to do the color differentiate thing and other little mods I noticed with the new camera... but I don't like the builds we have right now as I'm seeing to much TouchWiz lag in them... (came JB lol) so I just pulled it from WildChild's rom.
You need to install it by renaming the old camera file (located in /system/app) SamsungCamera.apk.bak this is as a backup just in case you dont like the new app for whatever reason.
copy and paste the file to /system/app/
reboot
Then it should work. Check permissions as I did and it wasn't set properly even though the camera functioned properly...
Easier then I thought and wrote up.
Be sure to wipe cache after all is done just in case as @DocHoliday77 suggested.
Yes I just did this process all over again.

Confirmed on: Wicked [v2]
I'm sure this will work on any TouchWiz rom, waiting on confirmations.
any questions ask away I'll check frequently and update post if need be...
I tried this and wasn't able to get the camera to work. I'm running stock rom on tmobile but have upgraded to the UVLH2 radio.
I renamed the SamsungCamera.apk to SamsungCamera.apk.bak
I copied the file you posted to the /system/app folder
I set the permissions to what you posted in your pic
I rebooted and when I tried to use the camera I got a force close.
I rebooted again and still got a force close error.
I then tried installing the camera by clicking on the apk in root explorer. It told me the camera failed to install.
At that point I just reverted back to my old camera app. Is there something different I should be doing?
Looks like i should right the instructions a little better... I'll do a better right up in a little bit when i can get to my computer.

Try unchecking Execute.
updated, it's actually stupid simple copy and paste, and reboot that's all I did and then took a picture.
@mt3g
What rom base are you currently on?
Reason I ask is cause there is quite a change between the first two and the latest update.
If you're on an older base some things from the latest may not work correctly.
If you are running one of the first two, and it works fine then at least we know that's not the case here.

Alright that's good, need other's to try it out and see if we got lucky, I don't see how it'd be too different from other TW based roms though.

I'm just on rooted stock UVALH2 and followed OP instructions, wipe, wipe dalvik cache and nothing happened. Still stock without added options.
Do I have to be on a custom rom?
Thanks
It is the same as the CM10 camera. What other features did you add? It works well but it is missing the burst mode and storage location to save the photos.
Oh, and I didn't have to wipe data or non of that! but just copied/pasted and reboot.

I'm curious, how did you update? Did yoh flash the rooted rom? Or did you install the full update via kies or odin. Or did you install the ota update?
I've been suspecting the following for a while now but could never get an answer to confirm.
Basically if you just flash the rooted update, you are going to miss out on a number of other firmware updates to other parts of your phone. Flashing the rom does not update the other partitions like installing via kies or odin will.
I could be wrong here or at least in your case, but not having the FULL update installed could cause exactly what you are seeing.
Just food for thought but would love to hear others input on this theory.
Note: you could try the dialer code mentioned in another thread to try updating JUST the camera firmware. I think its in general.

"Theres also a new camera firmware that you need to update manually, previously mine showed zdfe02 and now its updated to zdff03. To do so go to the dialer and type *#34971539# then hit “Phone / CAM FW Ver check” and if the phone FW is different than the cam FW you then hit "phone to cam FW write (rear)" and reboot."
Ok, I am currently running UVALG1 via wildchlds flashable rom. I installed the camera as per op and worked great! So my theory was at least part if not fully wrong.
However I have a question/request of anyone willing. Enter the dialer code from above and choose the first option Check Camera fw Ver. A toast will popup telling what your cameras and phones versions are. Mine said zdfe02 for both, but as stated above, his said one was zdff03.
Would you guys be willing to do that and let me know what it says? I figure zdff03 will show up if you have updated to UVALH2.
Thanks in advance! Hope I'm not annoying you with this stuff, I just want to know more!!!

[Boot Animation][CWM] Inverted AT&T Stock Boot Animation

Hello everyone!
I've put together a beta recovery-flashable zip of the Inverted stock and original stock AT&T Bootanimation. I've personally tested this on my Galaxy S III and it works beautifully. Please note some (not all) are having issues with this not working. I believe some ROM's read from /system/media FIRST instead of the usual /data/local. If the recovery flash does not work for you please manual install bootanimation.zip to /system/media. Please note that you must have a kernel that is compatible with custom boot animations to install this. Thanks!

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Instructions:
1. Download to your phone's SD card
2. Flash in recovery
3. Reboot from recovery.
4. Enjoy!
For those of you who wish to know, the bootanimation is flashed to /data/local rather than /system/media.
To flash manually with Root Explorer, etc. :
1. Download and extract the CWM flashable boot animation file below
2. In the extracted file, navigate to /data/local and copy the bootanimation.zip file
3. Navigate to the root of your SD card
4. Go to /data/local and paste the file there OR alternatively /system/media, overwriting any old boot animation (please backup your old boot animation if you wish to revert soon). Please note that /data/local is the first place that the OS looks for a boot animation. Any boot animation placed in /data/local will override a boot animation placed in /system/media.
5. Reboot and enjoy
This SHOULD work on any device with a 1280x720 resolution. If you flash this on phone other than a Galaxy S III, you do so at your own risk.
WARNING: I have included an extractable zip containing the stock boot animation sound "PowerOn.ogg". This is absolutely NOT a recovery flashable file. I have opted not to include audio due to discrepancies between ROMs' designations of boot animation audio files. Once again: Do NOT flash the audio zip in recovery because it will not work. This file is intended for advanced users and modders who know what they're doing. Sorry in advanced for sounding so strict, this just needs to be said. Enjoy guys!
Thanks for this...anyway to get the boot up sound as well?

Originally there were no plans but since you asked nicely I will try my best to work it into both animations. I might also do something a little special for the inverted if I can think of something creative. (Verizon bootsound?....jkjk )
Edit: Since sound requires edits that may be different depending on the ROM I will NOT included it in the package. However, I WILL include the .ogg file with the boot animation sound for those who are adventurous and know what they're doing.

Interesting. I'll take a look at it when I get off work tonight again. I refreshed the files the other day but all I did was fix the updater script which wouldn't apply to you. Regardless, I'll see what the problem is tonight.
Edit: I looked at the files from root explorer and everything looks okay...did you check permissions? Try flashing through recovery and see if that does anything for you and let me know what happens.
Edit 2: I think I know what the problem is and it's really stupid. I think this only works on stock roms right now because of the way the colors are sorted. I'm going to try to fix this and I'll update the OP until I figure it out. Boot animation factory gave me a warning about it but the animation worked so I ignored it. I have to figure it out then repackage. I'm sorry about that. If you have any insight let me know.

Alright so what I did was change the image to and RGB format instead of an index format (my mistake). I'm sorry about that. I've reuploaded the inverted boot animation if you want to give it a shot, Duffman. If this doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you other than your kernel doesn't support bootanimations or you're putting the files in the wrong place. I've triple checked my files, the formats, and everything else. If you still have an issue, please tell me your ROM information as well as kernel, etc. Then let me see your /data/local and your /system/media folders (screenshot) just to make sure it's all good. Hope this works (99% confident) and I hope you enjoy!
No go. I am running Jellybean 747 m3.
I flashed via TWRP. I am running Jellybean 747 M3 with stock kernel it came with. The images in the bootanimation.zip are your inverted ones.
Attached is my data/local folder. Can't get system/media in this post. See my next post.

Duffman, everything looks right. Important question: Have you verified that the kernel supports custom bootanimation.zip suppot? This animation worked for me but I'm on stock based ROMs. I made the original boot animation flashable for jerrycoffman45 and then individually edited each image to invert it. After some trial and error, we got the original up and running no problem. Inverted and stock boot ran just fine flashing through CWM and TWRP. I must ask, have you tried other boot animations? I would really like to get this working for you and I'm sorry it's not right now. I don't like to post work unless I feel it is complete and it's been tested.
Edit: It looks like Jelly bean milestone 3 does not support custom boot animations yet. I believe that is the only thing holding you back here. I went through the thread and there was someone asking about it being included in milestone 4. It seems like it can't be too far off!
I guess that would explain it then lol!

Thanks for testing. I'll reflash an insecure kernel with bootanimation support and get to the bottom of this. Sorry if it's any error on my part. Can anyone take a look at this and double check my files? It's working for some but not all. This isn't my first bootanimation and it won't be my last. It might be problems with the png files or my updater-script but I'm not sure. I've looked over it enough to pull my hair out why it works for some and not others. Thanks!

bootanimation on my S3 is located in /system/bin. The boot animations in /system/media are the Samsung Logo files.
What you could do is rename the file in /system/bin and create a symlink from /data/local
adb shell
$su
#ln -s /data/local/bootanimation.zip /system/bin/bootanimation.zip
This method worked on my Motorla Atrix, so it should work here as well.
Im running stock rooted H9 on AT&T and I cannot get ANY custom boot anims to work... Tried /data/local - /system/media - /system/bin - and made sure that all the permissions were right, nothing works. hmmmm

It won't work on stock unless you have a kernel that supports it. For example, I'm running Triune II with an insecure stock kernel and bootanimation support (the ROM comes with this).

Any recommendations for a kernel that will work with Stock Rooted H9 firmware? I have no need for OC or anything like that...

[THEME[ Amber Gold & White Gold for 4.1.1 (4.1.2 added 26 Dec 12)

4.1.1 Theme is in this post, for 4.1.2 Themes see the Second Post
I would like to share a couple of themes with you hope you like them.
I may work on other colour variants and post them here but I have very limited time to spare, guess it also depends on the response to these really.
These themes are for Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Stock roms, not ICS please do not flash on 4.0.4 roms.
Themes are based on Stock JB (United Kingdom - BTU, Open Europe - XOA). I have created these for people who want to keep stock roms but want a change from Samsungs stock appearance. If you are using different stock or custom roms I don't know if or how the themes would work with them.
There are two themes available
1. Amber_ Gold.
2. White_ Gold.
Backgrounds are black in these themes so that you can do what you want with your own preferred style of wallpapers.
Theme includes
1. Full 360 screen rotation on apps and functions that allow rotation, including lock screen.
2. Transparent Status Bar
3. 1 percent battery mod
Themed APK's
1. Browser
2. Calculator
3. Clock
4. Contacts
5. Framework
6. Phone
7. Settings
8. SystemUI
9. TW Launcher
10. TW Framework
If you want to install any theme you must have a Rooted Phone and have TWRP Touch Recovery installed, these zip files work with TWRP as CWM is no longer supported on 4.1.1 by Chainfire.
Link to CF-Auto Root
Link to TWRP Recovery
Instructions after Rooting and installing TWRP.
1. Download the chosen theme
2. Connect your phone to your PC via your USB cable then copy the theme to your phone Internal Storage or external SD Card that's up to you.
3. Boot phone into TWRP recovery, tap Wipe then tap Cache then tap Delvik Cache.
4. Return to the main TWRP menu and tap Install then locate your downloaded theme
5. Tap the theme to select it then install the theme
6. Finally reboot your phone.
I would suggest you leave the phone alone for 5 minutes or so after installing.
Themes will work on Stock JB roms, I don't know about any other rom versions try them if you want
United Kingdom - BTU
Open Europe - XOA
They will not wipe any data, apps or information from your phone but as always remember to do a backup of your phone before flashing any rom or theme.

Amber Gold Theme for 4.1.2
This is an optional replacement for stock 4.1.2 roms, do not flash on 4.0.4 or 4.1.1 roms.
A big thanks to bginders for doing a lot of testing for me on 4.1.2 ELKC prior to my own area 4.1.2 ELL4 becoming available, it saved me a lot of time so much appreciated.
This theme is based on the stock ELL4 rom.
If you try this on other 4.1.2 roms it's up to you, if it works let me know and I will add it here, if it doesn't work it does say at the start it is based on ELL4.
To install the theme you must have a Rooted Phone and have TWRP Touch Recovery installed.
Rooting is simple via Odin form the link given in post 1
Click the link in post 1 that takes you to Chainfires thread, Download Odin from post 2 and download the zip file for your phone model from post 3, instructions for rooting are in post 2.
Click the link in post 1 that takes you to Dees_Troy thread, in the first post under Download are the details on how to install TWRP using GooManager which is available from the Android Market.
Installing the Theme after Rooting and installing GooManager with TWRP
1. Copy the download theme zip file to your phone (Internal Storage or External SD Card)
2. Open GooManager on your phone and tap Flash ROM's
3. Tap Add zip from another location and locate the zip file you copied to your phone
4. Tap the zip file to select it then tap Order & Flash selected.
5. Tap Wipe Cache / Dalvik Cache Partition to mark it as ticked then tap Flash
Please remember the Thanks button

Sorry mate, I would have to run the 4.1.2 rom on my phone to make sure any theme was stable before I would put it up for use. I wont do that until an official 4.1.2 release comes out that I can use and I know is stable. I would want it to be an update to UK - BTU or Open Europe - OXA 4.1.1 then I will do it, but until then, sorry.
Ok mate fair enough. I am using the polish rom w8th btu in the uk and it is really stable apart from the regular dialer lag. I would be willing to test when you do start on the 4.1.2. So if I can be of any help to this incredible theme let me know

OK, Can you extract the apk's from the phone, I would need the original stock versions
framework-res.apk
twframework-res.apk
systemui.apk
launcher2.apk
browser.apk
I amasuming they are named the same in 4.1.2
Also a screen clip or two of the browser, notification and launcher when they are open.
If you can get these put them in a zip file and PM me the link to download I could take a look at the differences and maybe give you somethig to play around with.

Extended Power Menu without an app

In the spirit of sharing. I decided to post a Extended Power Menu for some of the G2 variants. Use them as you will. I could only test the At&t and the Korean 2302k11a firmware. If you post your android.policy.jar I will make an EMP for you.
Here is a guide by kahvitahra so you make your own.

I had tried yours but it didn't change. I tried it manually, but it didn't change...
Could you retry it from my ROM for a deodexed D802? Here is the file. Here is an odex file and jar for an odexed version of a D802.
EDIT: After looking this over I think the problem is the values in the public.xml of the framework-res.apk. I tried changing the framekwork-res.apk to match the three values in the GlobalActions "99" file. I then added this to a ROM and flashed it, but it caused boot loops. I tried to just change the values in the JAR file, but it won't recompile as it creates mismatches. I am not sure what else can be done... Are the other versions for the different variants confirmed to be working with this?

Worked it out updated adb, here is the odex version (as in NOT for deodexed rom) version for STOCK roms D802:
International G2 Extended Power Menu - Odex.zip
Backup odex files in case you have issues:
International G2 Extended Power Menu - backup.zip
Just flash the desired zip in recovery of choice.
All credit goes to @bigfau the champion.

Yes , same night I used the LGmobile Support Tool . Back to stock, still no extended power menu. Can you tell me what to put in to adb to pull the file so we can get a Canadian version. My rom is stock rooted, w/ twrp
@somemadcaaant - Gonna try this odex version ASAP!
Can you try to remake the deodex version, I have been racking my brain to get it to work.
I can confirm that the deodexed & odexed version of D802 does not work! I have made tried the deodexed version several times without positive changes. I tried the odexed version on my stock ROM and a modified stock ROM, neither of which worked.
I don't think these will work unless the values are correct for our device. I prematurely gave thanks to somemadcaaant while it should've gone to bigfau for the idea. Thanks anyways!
What's the problem? Bootloop? Does the backup work if u flash it from my post? If not then it's something up with your framework. It should work on any D802 stock odexed framework. Try deleting the files before u flash including their.Odex and deleting cache/dalvic as normal.

The problem is that it doesn't extend the power menu at all. It's just normal after the flash.
I have a recovery backup of my odexed stock ROM, and I also have a modified stock ROM I can flash. I have tried both without success. I have even tried adding your file to the ROM zip and flashed without success. I also tried flashing your backup first (with both ROMs) and then using your zip, but it also failed.
I have examined the smali in your odex file (with an odexed and deodexed framework folder) and I am not seeing any of the additional files or changes to the existing file as needed (according to the tutorials) that are present in bigfau's zips.
I have tried it several times now and not been able to successfully create my own, or use yours. If you can create a deodex version I am willing to test it as I would love to be able to use this.
I just tested the files, installed and no wipe required, they work so I'm not sure what you're doing or what java files you're looking at... Creating a deodex version is pointless as bigfau has already done it. Make sure u flash the correct zip, the new menu appears after you click "Power off and restart".
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
@bigfau @somemadcaaant
I apologize as I had no idea that you had to click the "Power off and restart" before the mod would work. I was under the impression that new menu would be the only menu.
Maybe it would help if the OP also stated this so no one becomes confused like me. Thanks!
