But I can't hardreset the device.. When I press 'Erase everything' it does nothing.
Is there another way to hardreset the device?
Try the reset button near the sd card. That might work

Flashed the 4.1.2 - 10.1.A.1.434 - Generic Nordic 1270-6779 R5A ROM I've found on XDA..
I've serious issue phone software was updated after 12 hours or so now the phone is stuck in startup loop. Any help would be appreciated thanks. Only had this phone for few days.

If you hold it long enough it will vibrate once then three times. It's the same as taking the battery out.
I want to roll back my xperia zl androis version from 4.3 to 4.2, is there any body?
Dear friends I upgraded my rooted xperia zl phone from 4.2.2 to 4.3 but now can't root again. Even i did reset it do not go factory defaults. If i was able to downgrade to 4.2.2 i will be able to root again, waiting for your help, thx.

thats not a soft resett its for a hard reset u have to keep holding it until 3 vibrates

Yes, when you downgrade to 4.2.2 you can root it again!

i bought a Sony xperia arc lt15a few month ago.
since i got it i just had problems with it ... anyway.
so now i tried to update to android 2.3.4 (last update available)
then the update finished so i tried to turn my phone on and its vibrate 1 time a nothing happen so i tried to let it charge for hours,remove battery and put it back,remove everything and put it back, nothing worked so i tried to repair it with pc companion.I followed every step and now my phone still don't turn on....
to do fast:
phone : Sony Ericsson arc lt15a from rogers Canada
unlock bl:no
rooted:no
flashed:nope again
what used to update : PC companion and seus ?(the update service thing)
thanks if you can solve my problems anyone don't hesitate to ask some question if they are needed

ur right,, 5 mins ago i did something wrong and my xperia arc wont open.. it was showing me "Sony Ericsson Make.Believe" and in down right corner "Jaso @ #number of ur kernel#"
i flashed it 2 secs ago and its ok now xD!
like i said i already tryed everything the only rom that work on my cellphone is the rogers 2.3.3 posted by a other member i tried alot of 2.3.4 and none is working i even tried downloading the official one like 5 time trough pc compagnion and nothing work

Ups....messed up users.
But if bootloader is OPEN/UNLOCKED. Then use flashtool in development section..
This will do this job fine.
If bootloader is LOCKED/CLOSED, then use official update method..if 1st flash unsucsess...then reflash agent.
Error you getting if drivers or Java is not correctly installed.

well man my bootloader is locked but official dont work on my phone he never open after the official one i tried like 5 time and the only way to make it work again is using a 2.3.3 version trough flashtool that i downloaded some where on the forum

well i flashed an 2.3.3 rogers firmware and its now working but i cant get on 2.3.4 for obscure reason
and i tried like 5 different 2.3.4 firmware and they are not working and i also tried to update from the phone which didnt worked and from the computer by update service which didnt worked too

Unlock bootloader and flash whatever you want.

Hi Guys.
I need your help. I recently bought a second hand Xperia Arc S from a friend.
It had no problems what-so-ever. When I got it I factory data reset it.
It was working fine. Then I unlocked the bootloader rooted it and install cwm.
It was still fine. I then installed Doomlords kernal and installed Titanium Backup.
I removed all the apps and stuff i did not need or want. I made no ackups of the stock rom or any of the apps. Then today i Hard reset it to find i have no lockscreen i dont here a sound when i recive a call ot text and my camera no longer works also usb is not recognised by the phone, so i can't get to mass storage mode meaning i CAN'T USE SEUS OR PCC!. I then went off today and tried to flash the ICS .ftf and I got errors.
WHAT DO I DO! PLEASE HELP I'M A COMPLETE ANDROID NOOB

May be u Have Deleted Those Important apps from system/app .
Because Some of The Apps Are Required For System To Run Properly.
and Check the Flo95 Guide For REMOVAL oF jUNK apps SAFELY.

IF IT DOES NOT WORK WITH PC COMPANION AND UPDATE SERVICE , then flash the official ROM from Sony , ICS version 4.0.4 Manually using Flash tools ..

cant connect to pc companion just keeps searching for phone and phone just see's usb as a charger. goin to try generics ics. usaually i get an error while flashing

but flashing Unofficial kernel won't let it boot " as I know .. "
I had this problem when I tried to relock my bl and my mobile died for 5 hours cuz It was on unofficial kernel , I wasn't able to unlock it again , and not able to fix by Update service or pc companion ..
until I found that I should have just flashed the official Rom , then I was able to re-unlock the boot loader ..
and play Hack mode and kill my mobile with Cutom Roms again ...

first sony logo is coming then xperia then the home screen and after a few seconds it restart itself doing the same thing again
i tried to flash the stock rom using flashtool but the flashing process stopped at the beginning i think it because the bootloader is locked

Wrong. You can still use Flashtool even with a locked bootloader. If you're new to this, I suggest you use the PC Companion to repair your phone since it is easier.

thanks for replying but the PC Companion don't recognize the phone because the phone keep rebooting
and i downloaded 2 different stock roms and the flashtool give me the same error
Try using Sony update service and see if it helps.

im so confused.
i regret trying to root it. i rooted before some months my icecream sandwitch xperia neo V and that was so easy to root. but this new phone i bought was so difficult.
anyone got some ideas to help me please?

I can't start up my Sony Xperia S. It just stucks at the SONY logo screen.
I've downloaded Xperia Companion and tried Software Repair, but it says cannot be repaired as the Bootloader is unlocked. Now I'm trying to lock the bootloader but I don't know how.
I'd like to reset my phone to its original form, i.e. bootloader locked and unrooted. Any ideas?
Btw, I'm using a Mac.

I think I was trying to flash custom ROM.
But it didn't work and my phone just wouldn't start up, so I bought a new phone 6 months ago and put this aside.
Now I'd like to start up this phone and try to access my pictures etc.

OK download stock ftf (search Google for stock jelly bean for Xperia s). Then flash it by flashtool software. There is plenty of guide for how to flash official jellybean on Xperia s by flash tool.

Flash the official jellybean.
It has some progress but I still cannot start up my phone.
When I start it up, the Sony logo appears, followed by the Xperia logo and the colourful light stream. Then it repeats itself, SONY, Xperia, light stream........ etc.
It's better than just the SONY logo I had before.
What should I do next?
Give it some more time on that state.. It should boot OK.. If not then flash again.

I flash it again, and still it can't start up.
I gave it 30 minutes, and it's still in the loop, Sony - Xperia - lights.
what should I do?
I've also tried to repair using the Xperia Companion but it says, bootloader is unlocked, so NO.
how to relock the bootloader then?
It's really strange why this happend to you... Are you flashing the correct ftf?try a custom rom ad see what's happening
i believe that the latest flash tool doesnt work with xperia s anymore so look for an older version
