[Q] N5100: Missing Notification Lamp? - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I bought the N5010 when it came out and sold it about a week before I got the N5100. If not mistaken the Wifi only model has a notification lamp in the top left corner of the device, no? It's curiously absent from the N5100.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Google wallet question (Telus version)

Hey guys,
Tried searching everywhere to no avail so now I'm asking for help.
I have Google wallet installed on my phone on Kyanrom. Tried other roms as well. It signs in, loads up and says I have the 10.00 credit. Says card selected, everything seems fine. Tried it at Tim hortons, mcdonalds and a gas station, no response from either side whatsoever. Have had the build.prop mods done as galaxy nexus, still nothing.
One other thing I'm wondering, I had the nexus s and wallet worked great. But I also noticed that on the back cover of the phone there were 2 metal terminals that connected to two other ones in the phone so nfc would work only when the back cover was on. However, don't know if its just my model but I see the two terminals on the back of the phone but no metal connectors on the back cover itself, which is making me wonder if they are intentionally not there to block Google wallet where I live?
My model is Telus I747M and I live in Ottawa. Anyone that could help with some info would be seriously appreciated as this is driving me nuts!
Thanks in advance!

I don't think the wallet is available in Canada. i tried to register it but it required me to register a US address. It wouldn't let me change to a CDN address. I could be wrong.

NFC is now built into the battery. So the prongs that connected to the NFC chip on the battery door of the nexus s are not needed. As far as your problem I am sure it is a software issue not a hardware one, but that is as much as I can tell you.

[Q] Random Call Silences

So, I love my Xperia ZL. It's almost the perfect phone for me. However, as is typical with my experience of Sony devices, there are always some showstopping issues that damage my confidence in it.
I'll be talking to people on a call, either on a direct call or through Viber, and some way into the call the other person will suddenly not be able to hear me and assume that I've gone. I have not pressed mute and the call is still active. The call has to be dropped and restarted - which it does fine, straight away and without issue, until it does it again later into the call.
Has anyone else experienced this? I've performed both recent firmware updates and the issue persists. I've got a C6503 from Germany which I'm using in the UK on T-Mobile.
Your help sincerely appreciated.

Had the same problem. And ultimately it stopped working entirely. Had to take it in for service.

Damn. Thanks for this anyway. Did the service fix it? Was it efficient, too? I'm in the UK but bought the phone from Germany, and insured postage isn't cheap
Edit: I've just seen this thread, and wonder if it's related:

I've just turned off microphone suppression so hopefully this'll do the trick.
Took mine into a bell retail store. Got it back fixed in a week. Not sure on your process. I bought the nexus 4 while it was out for repair. Was happy to have the zl back.

Thanks but the important question for me is, was the issue fixed and did they say what it was?

anyone ever seen this?

Just noticed this yesterday and have never seen it before. My sister also has the same phone and it's not on hers. Just wondering if anyone else has it or might know why it's changed. It's the VZW logo in the top left of the lock screen
This is normal for phones with a Verizon SIM.

Yeah but it's never been there until yesterday and I've had this phone since day 1
I have Verizon and my Pixel says Verizon Wireless up there and my son's Moto G4 says VZW.

Different devices can have different files for determining the carrier name from MCC/MNC.
For example, my Pixel XL says Fi Network, where my iPad says Project Fi.
My Pixel has said "Verizon Wireless" up there since day one. I haven't seen the "VZW" though..

This can change. it's information coming from the carrier.
Mine switches between "Verizon" and "VZW," I've always wondered why.

For me, I noted that it says VZW on the lock screen and Verizon while in the OS.

Question SIM/Network Issues

Hey guys.
I just got this phone as a replacement for my broken Oppo Find x2 and have been having some issues.
This phone is an Amazon Warehouse phone that's clearly used and has been returned. It's a shame they don't give the reason for it's return!
Anyway. I have noticed that if I switch my sim from 1 slot to the other or add a 2nd sim or do anything of that sort the phone freaks out. I get 2 sim symbols with a line through them show at the top of the screen. Then it will change to the normal network strength icon then back to the 2 icons with a line, then back to a network strength icon and so on and so on and it will keep doing it. A factory reset is the only way to fix it.
Is this something anyone has seen before? Should I just send it back to Amazon? I have had the phone up and running for 2 days now with no issues but it could start at any moment for all I know.
Seems like a OxygenOS 12 thing. I installed the latest OxygenOS 12 to flash AOSP and was noticing it too. Initially thought that it must have ****ed up some partition but the problem went away on the custom ROM.

Need your phone model to diagnose the issue further, most phone models DO NOT support more than 1 SIM except for EU, I have no idea about the Indian and Chinese versions.
