Thanks! Did the job perfectly. As for the recovery, it rivals TWRP and has all of the features (even multi file flashing). The only thing missing is themes...unless I missed it, but good job! I recommend it, if people want the CWM experience, with TWRP's features.

i like it. only thing is it doesnt seem that you can do multi file flash without having put them in a seperate folder already. maybe i am wrong and if you could point me in the right direction about it if i am. i loved multi flash on TWRP. but all in all very nice and responsive.

They need to be in a separate folder. The idea is to avoid errors and usually, multi zip is used with same sequence files you can classify in subfolders

so do i just move them with a file explorer on phone or computer or can it be done in the actual recovery? i know sounds pretty noob but i've been on twrp for so long not used to the extra step. and what exactly do you mean by "multi zip is used with same sequence files you can classify in subfolders", how do i classify them to flash in the correct order?

You can either fast boot the IMG file, or you can use flash image GUI by Joey Krim in the android market.

i realize its the same theme but one's for 32 and 31, as well as one being for the gNEX and the other for NS4G. I know gsm phones make a difference, but what? And how can they work? Im gonna do some testing a little later so wish me luck. lol
I've been waiting for this thread to pop up. How difficult is it to port AOKP themes to our device, or even create our own?
the ns4g theme will work for us, its been mentioned in the before through out the thread

Anyone know if themes will work with Nocturnal Venom? It's AOKP but has also been changed a lot.
I've also flashed galaxy nexus themes over aokp. They have so many over there. I just couldn't get rid of the navigation bar. Probably because they need it on there's. Maybe I just got lucky by flashing them but not my fault if you mess something up.

To get rid of the nav bar go to rom control, power setting, nav bar. Press power button, uncheck nav bar profit.

I've flashed the sense 4 theme every time I run aokp. I always just have my setup how I like then go back into cwm and wipe cache then flash theme flash kernel reboot.

All the files are up on my github and available for anyone to look on and improve or even continue in case i stop . i know there is already a few toolkits over here but i figured since ive got the galaxy nexus i might as well post mine here since i added gnexus support to my nexus s 4g one almost a year ago.
since the best way to root a nexus device is via flashing recovery and then obtaining root that way rather than using an exploit that doesnt unlock your bootloader, or relying on a pre-rooted kernel which works great assuming no one ever updates ;P. some people have a hard time with rooting the nexus, this isnt a true one click but its designed in teh style (i think you need to have maybe 4-5 actions on your behalf besides pressing enter/space ). so before questions begin, yes it will work on all firmware versions even key lime pie and beyond.. its just the nature of nexus devices

its a script designed to help root the nexus line of devices. i made it ages ago for teh nexus s 4g and have been adding things since.

So I have always used Aroma Installer for all the flashing of any sorts on my previous 3 phones. I think it makes flashing much easier for devs be it kernel or roms.

This is a quick try for Aroma for our device ( I am pretty sure if we get it to work here it will work with the other Snapdragon S4 versions as well.)
I searched all the different S4 forums and couldn't find a working version of this yet.
Here are my thoughts:
1. I quickly threw this together to try out the concept.
2. I could not get the touchscreen to work but possibly setting

BUT navigation with volume keys, power, and the capacitive buttons works.
3. My quest with the attached zip was to get the stock kernel for MEA to flash successfully. Fixed it to now flash stock MEA kernel.

5. Basically I am hoping to start some collaboration from people who are more knowledgeable at this than I am and maybe we can get a working customizable installer package for our device to make everyones life a bit easier.

Ok so the only thing you have yet to get to work is touch?
I have made several of these in the past and always had trouble with all recoveries except twrp. I am mobile now so I cant really examine the files.
Tried the zip with twrp that I have installed, touch didnt work.
When I get home ill check em out!

My updater script coding is a bit messy but it works currently.
I have some decent aroma config files for the installer to make it all fancy with tons of options for devs if needed.
With the latest aroma installer it is stated that you should only need touch drivers in your recovery kernel which TWRP has but i cannot get the touch to function still.

I have tried a few mods and haven't got anything to work yet. I am using TWRP 2.5.0.2. Something is missing keeping it from working. I don't think its recovery related since your using a different one than I and touch doesn't work on either.
Edit: I have downloaded older versions of Aroma ( 2.51, 2.50) and tried to run through calibrating the touch screen with no luck. The touches are not recognized during setup. I'm still tinkering with it but at a loss right now.
Any one have any luck with this yet?

I got a built prop error like no sch i925 stuff....was not able to flash it...

I have cwm installed, i will try again...but one question first: do I have to have an american kind of galaxy note 10.1 (Verizon) or can it be installed on any kind of international Hardware? maybe thats my issue?

Yes you will need the vzw note 10.1, that's why the assert is failing. Its a fail safe so a rom isn't flashed on a device its not meant for.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. Flashed this morning and I'm now setting everything up. So far I'm loving it though. Quick boot times and overall it feels a lot leaner. Thanks for the rom and the support. Been following you since the fascinate days.
*Edit* Ran into a redraw issue or something with TouchdownHD. I posted a video at http://youtu.be/dz5gzv6Sdco is there a setting available that might fix this? I've tried re-installing the application and I still get the same issue.

Edit: Just tried it. Does not work It checks to make sure you are on the correct device, as stated on the first page

You could try what I did and unzip, swap metainf folder from 8013 installer go through the build.prop file with notepad ++ and change tablet type from Verizon to n8013 and see what happens! Good luck :laugh:

Installation instructions
Installing Mahdi-Rom for the first time, or coming from another ROM:
- Make sure you're running Philz 6.07.9 use of any other recovery will not be supported! http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/l900
- Copy GApps and ROM ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Format following these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648855
- Follow option B instruction set
- Flash Mahdi-Rom zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
- Reboot
- Don't restore system data using Titanium Backup!
-InCallUI FC - How to fix this: Open Phone, go to settings, turn reverse lookup off then back on, no more FC
Upgrading from another 4.4 Rom:
- Copy the ROM ZIP to your SDCard
- Boot into Recovery (Please use Philz)
- Choose factory reset then clean to install new rom
- Flash the ROM zip from SDCard
- Reboot

Well you might want to hang on to it for a few days and try out the new builds I have going. With some help from sleshepic I am now on a roll and pumping out a few new things. This one (mahdi) is fully working and I am building a fully working beanstalk atm. Then on to Chaos and then baked KK.
Also unlike most 4.4 KK roms this one (mahdi) has a much louder speaker volume both external and on calls. I am trying to find the exactly what the modifications are so I can add them into all my builds. That way users wont need any add-ons to boost the volume.

I will link a few a 4.4 core gapps along with slims gapps. Although any current 4.4 version should be fine.
Does this one has BT working for music call and car?
I don't have that Philz version which may break some ROM if not follow new chats from Philz.

Dont have any bluetooth besides another phone so I am not sure. It will do beam which uses nfc and bluetooth transfer so that is all I can say. I do have another user testing those features atm but could use another.
I am posting link in OP to philz goo.im downloads. It will take you directly to our device so there will be no confusion in that area. All his builds will work with 4.4 but only 6.07.09 will work with all android versions.

I'm assuming this is AOSP since people are mentioning GAPPS packages, but I've never heard of this ROM, what's it's unique features compared to let's say AOKP, PACman, Carbon, etc? Just curious

This ROM is nice and fast I've been rocking with it all afternoon my only issue is the camera doesn't work, I've loaded a couple of camera apps from the play store and they don't work either. Bummer.

Something in the source is broken. Tomorrow I will be digging into this and beanstalk. The thing is when working for current sources they are not always 100% usable. Until a stable release is made everything is like a nightly. Things get changed and some changes are not complete. I just have to mix and match different sources or fix the code myself. Since I am just a novice it takes me longer.
You might want to try my ose build. It looks to be fairly bug free so far.
