About N7102i - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Some one may has pointed out that there is GT-N7102i variant for Samsung Galaxy Note II China Unicom version GT-N7102.
It's well known that GT-N7102 has band problem for both WCDMA & GSM.
I bought N7102 and had troubles when travelling, so I complaint via China Samsung offcial website. They contacted me and denied the problem. But later, they offered refund. I refused the offer and request double refund or fixing the problem.
Ok, they insisted on denying the problem while offerred refund. Then news about N7102i, then I asked the CS manager who talked to me whether N7102i resolved the problem. And later, they offered to replace motherboard of my N7102.
I do like the idea that I get refund and buy the new N7102i when it's on sale, and I told CS manager so. But the CS manager tried very hard to persuade me to close the issue ASAP. The final deal is beside the motherboard replacement, they also offered some gift as compensation. The new N7102i is supposed to support WCDMA 850,900,1900,2100.

So you can resolve the problem if you have N7102, or you can wait for N7102i.
BTW: I don't know if N7102i will be on sale, or just a problem fixing for customers who care about this.

Will the motherboard replacement fix the problem?

Can you check if your new motherboard also fixes the missing HDMI output issue with the N7102?
Can you output video and audio when connecting and HDMI cable via MHL?

perhaps the GT-N7108D could offer a better solution for people with this issue.
it's a note 2, but with the insides of an international version S4.(snapdragon 600, krait quad core)
good chance it will have better support for foreign networks, and better performance as a bonus.

I don't think so, it's second SIM is LTE only so it will not work in many countries.

Screen problems

I wonder if anyone can help. I did search the site but couldn't find anyone with similar problems.
The problem is the screen colours are 'messed up' and it rarely displays the screen correctly. I know its a problem like a lose or damaged connection inside the phone but I want to know if it will get fixed out of warranty? If so where do I start?
If the warranty is useless then I will crack the phone open and have a look myself, but I didn't want to open it if HTC will fix it.
Its an O2 XDA IIs by the way with the latest O2 software.
Here is a pic:

It doesn't look too bad in that pic, but it gets worse and sometimes fades to white.
Thanks
F355,
Akthough I'm no specialist, it remonds me a problem I had with a graphic card a while ago. It could well be that the graphic chip on the main board is giving way.
If such is the case and the device is still under warranty, u know what to do!

Thats the problem I think its out of warranty. I remember I had a Nokia 8210 about 4 years ago and they fixed that even out of warranty, just wondering if HTC are as good customer service wise. Its probably wear and tear but surely it should be designed to last. My XDA I is much better quality, shame its so big, slow and has no features.
Well I contacted O2 data support and they said that O2 XDAs come with 2 years warranty (the phone is 1yr 1m old) so they are sending a pre-paid envelope and hopefully fixing it.
The only problem is because its 'screen damage' they might not fix it even in warranty and I will have to pay £17 handling fee.

Need help from U.S. or asian users please :-)

So who can help me to get these parts? I need an email adress or (would be perfect: a link where I can order these parts) or something else...
One special thing for Bangkok users: If you can organize me an adress where I can ask (There's an ASUS support department in Bangkok - does anyone have an email adress?).
I'm in BK in November, so please leave a message here.
To rise interest : A small "thank you" gift is the reward if you help me getting these parts.
kind regards,
das_spektakel
I am asian...but can't help you since I live in village - -......
Hello canonyang_China,
i think you're from china, aren't you?
Could you do me a favor and contact ASUS HongKong? All support requests from my destination are routed to the german support-desk. And they say: "sorry, we don't sell the white one in germany argh - I know...
regards,
Leela
I have seen that users from U.S. also have the possibility to help me
I wouldn't mind letting you use my address, I'm in the U.S. by the way. I took a quick look at ASUS' support website, and it requires a S/N, and other information unavailable to me.
If you want to do the leg work, you can have it sent to my house, and I can ship it out to you, free of charge of course.
I do work at a wireless store, and I'll get on the phone tomorrow, and see what I can come up with for you. I might be able to get a hold of someone from ASUS, it's a long shot, but I'll try nonetheless.
If you want to use my address, just let me know.
P.S. I also have an uncle in Bangkok, who I'm sure wouldn't mind helping you out, could give you his email as well.
Hi skusa93,
thanks for this great offer - i really appreciate that. Can you give your uncle my email adress (or pm me your uncles adress). My one is das_spektakel[at]yahoo.de.
Firstly I would try the Bangkok one because i'm there in two weeks
(ahhhh sweet holiday)
kind regards,
das_spektakel
good, hope you can get it soon.
hi:

is it safe to use Note 7 Hongkong Version SM-N9300?

Today Samsung requested all the Samsung Note 7 Owners to Switch off their phone and stop using it.
I have a Note 7 Hongkong version SM-N9300, Which has a Green Battery and the Faulty Tests shows that my phone is NOT among the Affected ones.
My Question is "IS IT SAFE TO USE MY PHONE NOW?

As far as I know the actual recall is currently in the US only (Not Australia, according to Samsung. I asked them) however I'd guess it's going to be worldwide very soon. And this includes all the replacement ones that were deemed "safe".
So, your Note 7 will /probably/ be recalled soon enough. Nobody can tell if your phone is safe though. Impossible to know.

Samsung Hong Kong just announced earlier for all people with HK Note 7s to stop using and return the phone. To be honest, the potential battery problem ALWAYS included China and HK phones, Samsung's HK and China divisions were just shady as hell and kept selling on September 2 when Samsung headquarters first announced they made a huge mistake. Samsung HK has been getting killed online by people for weeks for seemingly apathy. I'm surprised they acted so soon this time to echo what the rest of the world is doing.
so long story short, no, your HK note is included in the call for return. All note 7s are. the phone is done.
Well my Note 7 is perfectly fine. The battery and everything is perfectly fine. NO HEAT ISSUE. i am trying to contact the person who sold it to me to check what the supplier stand on this.
Anyways thanks everyone.
I just wonder the problem is not the battery but rather the processor.
The one in China are not exynos which produce more heat
The Recall is GLOBAL, as in INTERNATIONAL. NO SAMSUNG NOTE 7 IS SAFE! RETURN IT!
Seems to me this forum is frequented by Samsung-haters and/or trolls.

Where to buy original spare parts for Mi Max? (LCD assemblies, more importantly)

Hi everyone, I know this is not the most popular phone nor forum but I'd like to have more information as to where to get original/OEM spare parts.
My best friend was in love with this phone but the glass broke; he replaced it with a non-genuine assembly and the touchscreen quality was horrible. Now he's after an original assembly but it's very hard to find accurate information. I tried asking on Miui here but except one member mentioning Honorbuy, nothing suggested has been really helpful.
Has anyone here bought from Honorbuy, and if so, is it a reliable retailer? What is not very comforting is that the pictures of the assembly they sell are exactly the same as the one my friend bought on Aliexpress so the chances it is a genuine part are quite thin. Otherwise, is there a reliable seller or website for Xiaomi or just phones in general?
Or even better, is there a way to directly order from Tianma (the manufacturer of the assembly) or get in touch with a retailer working with them? An email has been sent to Tianma, waiting for a possible reply...
Here's what he gets from the information menu somewhere (sorry, no specifics) :

Thanks in advance
I bought a screen assembly from aliexpress.com
It wasn't perfect (a few bright spots at max brightness) but it worked fine. I just ordered another but I accidentally chose a Mi Max 2 screen :silly:
I hope it fits...
Wow I never got a notification for your reply, sorry. How did it go with your screen replacement?
Problem with Aliexpress, is that you can't really trust sellers. I've tried to contact so many of them who supposedly provide original (written in uppercase of course) screens but after a long discussion, they admitted it was at best OEM but not original, and I supposed it was just good quality copies.
My friend did some research on his side and he possibly found the way to identify a genuine assembly, as in the picture here :
What saddens me is the trend of the whole industry to prevent people from buying original spareparts. And also manufacturers not wanting to open their channels so that they can provide a repair service at a much higher cost; problem : what do I do when official repair service isn't provided in my country?
I'm not willing to rant anyway, but I'd appreciate if someone knows a reliable provider for screens in general.

Broken screen replacement

I have broken my screen can anybody suggest me a screen for replacing the old one thank you
I think you should first take to a Motorola/Lenovo customer service center and get it replaced there, and how bad is the screen damage?

Ahh, that seems bad, have you asking any of your local phone repair shops ?
Moto G5S isn't a really popular models compared to other moto phones which would make it hard to find the replacement and expensive, guess your other options is to seek a replacement in Hyderabad or Bangalore
I have seen a display on maxbhi but I don't know whether to trust it or not https://www.maxbhi.com/search.html?mb_model_id=1289664&cat_type=screen&q=&features_hash=1

after some googling I found this info
Now if the part you have ordered is available with them then they will provide it. But the thing is not all spares are available are shown on the site. So they might cancel your order and instead of returning the money, they will put it in your maxbhi wallet.
You can use this money to order something else, if it's available then it will be shipped and you should receive it within a week.

seems like a huge gamble and the general perception of the company seems to be negative
